All jokes aside, I was pretty entertained by each and every story and how it played out. Pick this up and you won’t be disappointed in the least!

I loved reading this anthology. Some stories will have chills running up and down your spine. Some stories have you checking under the bed, just in case. Some stories include the paranormal. I enjoyed the shifter stories. I love anthologies as I get to read stories from authors that I know and also discover new ones as well. Some of the stories included are: Karma Karnival by Aubrey Wynne – This is a story about a most unusual Karnival. What is in store for those who come there? Also Drained – By Monique Singleton, The Guardian’s Nightmare – By Yvette Bostic, Dungeons and Demons Part Two – By Kayla Krantz, and Jilted – By Azaaa Davis. All of the authors have done an amazing job of making their stories and characters come alive. These are stories that will have you wondering what is going to happen next. Don’t miss out on a group of stories that are spooky, suspenseful, exciting, and entertaining. I highly recommend reading them.

This is a great box set that has a collection of spooky and paranormal stories by nineteen awesome authors. There is something for everyone in this box set. Each story is unique and will keep you reading. One of my favorite stories is Karma’’s Karnival. This is a story that is dark and engaging. The author’s attention to detail made you feel as if you are right there with the characters. It made the history portions easy to read and entertaining. Ellie made such a great character, not only connectable, strong but lovable too. I loved each story and the suspense was just what I needed on a cold afternoon. I highly recommend this book.

Drifting, Falling: Diary of a Call Girl Suicide by A.J. Ullman is a wonderfully written story that I absolutely put it down. I think at one point I was holding my breath while on the edge of my seat . Other times I had tears in my eyes. It was kinda hard to read at times but I had to know what was going to happen next. This author has completely blown me away and im kinda speechless. I went in with something completely the opposite of what actually happened. This is about a young woman who has a very dark and troubled past. Get ready to be taken on quite the emotional journey. With some heart breaking and heartwarming moments. I recommend reading this book and I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Emotional story. Keep Kleenex nearby because you will need it.

When I saw the title of this book, I knew I was going to have to read this book. A.J. Ullman has taken a serious topic of suicide and made it into a story that everyone needs to read. Once a person decided that life is not worth living, it is one that those around them are baffled that they could do such a thing. This is a story that brings to light a tragic subject matter. People have demons and most do not know that this thought is going through the mind of the person. Ripley has many demons and her story brought tears to my eyes and pain in my heart. There were moments that I felt I could not read another word but I needed to see what was coming next for Ripley. The character of Ripley can be anyone in your life. She is smart, kind, loving, and haunted by her past. Sound like anyone you know? It is an emotional roller coaster ride, but it is one that I highly recommend. Make sure you have plenty of Kleenex by you because you will need it. It is a solemn read but an eye-opening one. Dare I say, I loved this story because it really pointed out suicide and what someone goes through while making that decision.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a really emotional read about a young girl who’s life spirals down hill until she sees no way to redeem herself but to commit suicide. Its a thought provoking book that shows you don’t know what another person is thinking, feeling or going through in their life.

It is written using Ripley’s dairy and also has section written by her psychiatrist. Ripley is 21 and has always dreams of becoming an astronaut. However things don’t go as she plans and she ends up becoming a call girl. Filled with sadness and depression she speaks openly ans honestly in her journal about her struggles using humour and sarcasm to hide some of her feelings.

When we see the conversations between Ripley and Dan we see how some people can hide their suffering so that even the professionals can’t tell their true thoughts and feelings.

Drifting, Falling: Diary of a Call Girl Suicide by A.J. Ullman. This book was so amazing. Mental Illness is very important to me and I love when authors do a great job telling a story about it. This is the story of Ripley Astilla Luna who is a call girl. She had plans to be an astronaut when she was a little girl but life doesn’t always turn out the way we hope. She has had a very hard life. She has had to deal with a lot more heartache than most people. Becoming a call girl was never what Ripley wanted but here she is so she has decided to plan her suicide and that entails jumping off a very tall building. She is a beautiful girl that has tons of potential but all that she’s been thru and her mental issues causes her to want to end it all. Her therapist Dan Truscott has tried to help her and get her on a positive track but it seems he can’t reach her. Will Ripley succeed in her attempt to end it all or will she finally win the war of her mind?

This book was such a different story compared to those I generally gravitate towards, but I genuinely enjoyed the ride. An air of unease that only lent to the story followed my path through this read, yet A.J. Ullman still managed to delicately take us on a journey through Ripley’s darkness and it was eye opening.
I was just as wrapped up in Dr. Truscott as I was in Ripley, looking forward to getting to know them both as the pages turned.
With amazing character development and writing from an author I’d never heard of but can’t wait to read more from, you’ll take a look into how those who had internal struggles go day to day. I highly recommend this book just so you may have better understanding of the workings of the mind of those around you.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Drifting, Falling: Diary of a Call Girl Suicide, by A.J Ullman was unlike any book I’ve read before.
The story is of Ripley, a troubled girl who has suffered through several traumas that led to the life she has now. All she wants is to feel in control, and this story depicts the planning of her own death. Ripley is smart and courageous, her childhood dreams of being an astronaut fills her mind and she wishes for a life a million miles away from the one she’s living. Planning her death gives Ripley the element of control she longs for.
Ripley is a relatable character, perhaps not because of her traumas or current lifestyle, but because underneath it all she is a funny girl, layered with sarcasm, witty remarks and vulnerability. I just wanted her to find help, and to take control of her life in a different way, by living her dreams.
No spoilers here, but as expected there are twists and turns throughout this story that will keep you guessing and turning the pages.

Drifting Falling: Diary of a Call Girl Suicide by AJ Ullman is an interesting story that is quite a lot different to anything I have read before. It is a story that is dark and nothing is off the table as far as the MC’s thinking which is raw and honest. It is a story of a female whose life is far from ordinary and is in therapy which exposes her life in every detail. It is written as if reading someone’s diary although we hear part of the story from the therapist. It’s hard for me to say what I feel but there is a lot of emotions due to the topic.

Ullman weaves quite the spellbinding tale in this piece. The unexpected title grabs your attention immediately. And the premise, not my usual read, was intriguing with a well developed main character and plot. Ripley was a very complex and unique main character to follow and I was intrigued to walk alongside her throughout these pages. I won’t say much about the plot to avoid any spoilers. But suffice to say if you are at all intrigued by the summary you won’t be disappointed by this piece of fiction. Ullman does a fantastic job developing this story. Another great book by this author.

Drifting Falling: Diary of a Call Girl Suicide is a heartbreaking story by AJ Ullman. This is the first book I have read by AJ Ullman, but definitely won’t be the last. This book captures all of the pain and disappointment of a young woman with a dark and troubled past. This book was deeply moving and hard to read at times, but I think AJ did a really good job of bring the issues of depression and suicide to light. I would recommend this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

This was a new to me author but I read the blurb and saw a few teasers and I was drawn in instantly. I needed to know what the story was even it if was going to be a difficult one to get through. I will say yes this talks and deals with depression and suicide in depth from the very first page until the last, but the author does this with a great passion and with class that I have rarely found in difficult reads. This is one that will make you think and realize there are many people who suffer and walk the line between life and death daily, some of us just hide it so very well. I hope this can bring some comfort to those either grieving or suffering from suicidal thoughts. I really was enthralled in Ripley’s story. The way we saw glimpses of her diary and then got input from her psychiatrist was a unique way to tell this kind of story and I enjoyed it. I look forward to seeing what else is out there by AJ Ullman in the very near future!

Drifting Falling: Diary of a Call Girl Suicide by AJ Ullman

This is the first book I’ve read by the author, but it won’t be my last. I will warn readers to have a box of tissues nearby. What a read, but a damn good one.

Ripley Luna has had a very hard life. Life took a turn for the worst and she hasn’t been the same since. Twenty-one years old and she is an escort. Call Girl.

She goes to therapy, but it doesn’t help any. She finally comes up with a plan to commit suicide. The quote I chose for Ripley is: “What do you expect, that someone could do that to me and I would just laugh it off? That’s someone’s idea of a normal childhood? That it wouldn’t affect me and my view of the world?”

Highly recommended for anyone who likes a good read.

Drifting, Falling: Dairy of a Call Girl Suicide by A.J Ullman made for quite the intriguing read. I’m not sure what I was really expecting, lured into the book by the interesting title, suffice to say that the story really surprised me- in a good way. I really don’t know what to say here, as I really don’t want to give anything away. But I will say that the story involved some touchy topics, which the author showcased in a very honest, raw, informative, and yet sensitive way. It certainly made me think, and even now I still have certain aspect of this story playing out in my mind.
There is an emotive quality to this book that had me really feeling for Ripley. There are lessons to be learned from this book, that’s for sure.
Mr. Ullman has imbued this story with a lot of heart and soul- as well as giving it true authenticity- all making for an unforgettable read.

Thank you, A.J Ullman!

Drifting Falling: Dairy of a Call Girl Suicide by AJ Ullman is a deep and thought provoking story that follows a young girl on a difficult and emotional journey. She has been through so much in her life and you could really feel that fight in her that is what got her through the things she had experience. While you might not be able to relate to the exact thing she has been through it was so easy to connect with Ripley. I felt the emotions and her pain on each page of the book which really added so much more to the story.
This is the kind of book that leaves you thinking about it well after it has ended. I thought that I was a powerful story and on that everyone should read.

I enjoyed this book. It is a little different than I normally read but I am glad I picked it up. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites. This is a well written story that has characters that I had no problems connecting with. They brought the story to life for me and kept me turning pages from the first page. This story is a diary about a woman whose profession is a call girl and she is planning her perfect suicide. As a girl what she wanted to be was an astronaut but what she became instead was a criminal. Now along side of her therapist she is planning her own suicide. I enjoyed watching this character grow throughout the story and how she got to this point in her life. I did feel bad for her in parts because she has had so much trauma in her life. She made a great character and made the story easy to read. I highly recommend this book.

5 out of 5 stars

The book Drifting Falling: Diary of a Call Girl Suicide by A.J. Ullman is a story that pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. It is the story of a young woman who has suffered through a childhood that included multiple traumas and now finds herself on a course to take her own life. Ripley Astilla Luna is a young woman who has a longing to lift off from Earth and go into space as an astronaut. She has a lot of knowledge about the space program as well as those who are part of it. She is intelligent, beautiful, and haunted by the past. Reading about Ripley had me in tears at times as she relives parts of her past. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down the entire time that I was reading it. This is a book in which Ripley takes you with her down a journey in which she has a fierce determination to finish her way. The story has dark moments as well as heartbreaking ones. This is a book that I couldn’t stop thinking about even after I had finished it. There are also the characters of Dan Truscott, Ripley’s psychiatrist, and Mort, Ripley’s only friend. Dan is a character whose actions I at times questioned. Mort is a character that Ripley turns to for support. They both have their part to play in the story and I don’t think that the story would be the same without either of them. The author does an amazing job of making both the storyline and the characters come alive on the pages. It is a book that I would recommend reading.

I didn’t like this book as much as I’d hoped, as I have a little bit of a love affair with Scotland. However, the murder mystery itself was well-woven and detailed. The plot was a bit slow due to the imbalance between dialogue and narration. I still enjoyed the historical aspects and descriptions of Scotland. The accuracy and attention paid to the language and accents of the time also added to the realness of the story.

The Slaughter of Leith Hall is a very interesting historic novel filled with mystery and suspense. I am a huge fan of outlander, and this book grabbed my interest as it is set in Scotland shortly after the Jacobites fight with the British.
John Leith is trying to gain social status by fighting for the British army shortly after the war between the Jacobites and the British. He is back in Scotland, and takes a fiercely determined and intuitive young man Charlie Rob under his wing. Charlie learns a lot shadowing Leith wherever he goes, and is content with his job, until one day, he is thrown in the middle of a murder mystery.
Charlie’s strong sense of justice urges him to get to the roots of the mystery and he finds himself obsessed with the murder.
It is a very gripping read and transports you into a different world. As I was turning one page after another, I could visualize Scotland and outlander before my eyes. It is a very interesting read which mixes fiction with historic facts together. The reader learns a lot about the Scottish history in this book.
A very good read, do not miss it.

I really do love books set in period. I don’t care if they are romance, mystery, or whatever. I love being drawn into the past and able to fantasise that I am in that time period. This book was very well written and kept my attention from the first page to the last. I love how there is just enough intrigue and drama to keep the reader going.

I could really feel the emotions Charlie felt as the drama unfolded. I was on the edge of my seat to see who was actually guilty. I really like how the author grabs the reader and you are transported into the very colourful past. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

A great murder mystery

A historical story that takes place in Scotland after the battle at Culloden, the final confrontation of the Jacobite army with the English. Charlie Rob has worked for the Leith family and has grown into taking on new duties for them. His search for truth and justice after a murder makes you root for him in so many ways. I loved how history was woven in with Charlie’s experiences. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in historical fiction. I’ll definitely be checking out this author’s future books.

The Slaughter of Leith Hall by Lexie Conyngham. I love a book that really keeps me on the edge with mystery and this author did just that. That characters pulled me in immediately and were very easy to connect with. I’m really picky when it comes to historical type novels I find myself getting bored easily but I didn’t have that issue here, from page one I felt engaged in this storyline and following great characters. The storyline is well written and unique. It’s paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking. The characters truly bring the words to life. I excited to read more from this author. Four stars and highly recommended. I ask that if this isn’t in your preferred genre that you still give it a chance because I promise you won’t regret it.

I love a period piece of any kind but The Slaughter of Leith Hall by Lexie Conyngham , was especially good. Any mystery story is a good mystery but this one really had my mind in a tangle. It seems a little slow at first, and I wasn’t quite sure it was a mystery. Trust me what I perceived as a slow-moving story was the authors skillful craft of laying the foundation for everything that follows. Foundation is key, and it almost slipped my mind once I got into the story and believe me you get in deep. Many moving parts to this story and it was greatly entertaining. The most pleasant part was the many surprises. This is a tale that is well worth your time. I can’t think of enough good things to say about this one without sounding like I am gushing.
