Savage Truth (Hidden Valley Elite #2)Savage Truth by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read a couple of books from this author and she continues to blow my mind. This is the second book in the very addictive series Hidden Valley. I love good enemies but lovers’ stories and this one is in my top three. These books need to be read in order or you will be totally lost. I love how this author writes from both of the characters’ points of view. It makes me feel more emotionally connected to them. I can’t wait to read book three.

Riley and Cole are now living together. They hate each other with a passion. They have one thing in common: they want to get their parents to split. Riley is starting to feel like she belongs at the high school but Cole has other plans for her. He will stop it at nothing to get the truth from Riley and her mother. He knows they are hiding secrets but will it be enough to get rid of them for good? Riley is afraid that her past will come and take her away. She needs someone in her corner but will it be too late?

Holy rollercoaster ride! There was SO much packed into this book. I have read all of the previous installments and couldn’t put this one down towards the end. When you learn the history and background of all the characters, and the story all falls into place, you won’t be able to put it down. Every single character in this book has some type of character development and while this is a “high school romance” it doesn’t feel that way. I love Riley. I think she is a great main character. She’s very intuitive and hardly goes against what she is feeling. She has a great head on her shoulder. Cole’s transformation was incredible to see as he started to be honest with himself. While this book does have a little bit of spice to it, the storyline really takes the cake.

Another fantastic book by this author. This is the 4th installment in this series and it was so good! I loved the relationship and friction between Cole and Riley. This is packed with drama, school teenage antics and step family drama. I loved it! Can’t wait to read the next one!

The third book in Cole and Riley’s relationship. This is where they actually start acknowledging their feelings and it is well worth the read. Each book I read is getting better and better. It has all the suspense, action, humor, and romance one could want in a book.

While this series is starting to grow on me more I feel so invested that I have no choice but to read the books.
The author does a good job with being able to relate to the characters but at times the books seem drawn out and forced. For me it hinders the flow of the books.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Savage Truth is book number two in The Hidden Valley Elite series of books, but is the conclusion to Riley and Cole’s story. The whole series should be read in order. Savage Truth was a super quick, suspenseful, slightly confused, rollercoaster, high school romance. There is no doubt this author can write, she can spin a story and pack what seems like a lot in such a short amount of pages, I just felt like doing so causes some scenes to feel a little disjointed, but not enough that I wouldn’t continue. I like how it alternates view points because I always like to hear from both main characters, and the chemistry between the characters was intense. I’m interested to see where the author takes the series next.

Wow! This ended the way I hoped it would. It’s definitely a roller-coaster of a book, and series. I finally had some questions answered about Riley’s dad. Over all I think this book was well written. It keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat and the chemistry between Cole and Riley is steamy!

Book one and book two could have easily been one book but I can definitely see why it was split. With that being said, this book cannot be read as a stand alone. Cole and Riley are now forced to live in the house together. Cole is plotting how to get rid of Riley and her mom, Riley is trying to convince her mom to leave. The tension that is felt in this book can be cut with a knife. Hot, captivating, twists at every turn, and an ending that will shock you. You will not be able to put this book down.

Second book in the series by this author who manages to blend and fuse Young /New Adult, High School bully romance with angst and warmth that could bring a happy ever after.
In this well written book we follow the story of Cole, highschool king and Riley as their relationship develops from one of abject dislike but attraction and ,not good enough for me’. Things change when Cole discovers secrets about Riley and her mother. The push and pull relationship grows and changes as the characters continue to grow.
Another amazing read.
Cole and riley continue their “affair” in book and comes to a close. It feels so similar to another store I’ve read I had a hard time “ getting into it “

I was left torn in two yearning for everything this book could be but disappointed but the repeated actions. However I suppose it coincides with the fact that they are high school students. They sure act like it.

The storyline was promising I just felt it was lacking and could’ve been really robust.

Savage Truth: A Dark High School Bully Romance (Hidden Valley Elite Book 2)

Another fantastic read!

Savage Truth is the second book in The Hidden Valley Elite series.

This book continues with Riley and Cole and their love and hate relationship. A lot gets unpacked in this book, and the author does a good job of unpacking it and bringing it all out to where you can’t put the book down. Riley finally gets the truth about her biological father, who is not a nice guy and gets to lay this part of her life to rest. Now on to college!

Isla Vaughn is an amazing author, and has quickly become one of my favorites. The Hidden Valley Elite series is one of the best series I’ve read in a long time. I love the characters, the world building, the storytelling is amazing. I truly feel like I’m in high school again when I’m reading. I love Riley and Cole’s story. I loved the animosity and the buildup and the everything about it. If you love the drama, the heat, the everything, you’ll love this story. I absolutely suggest this book (and all the others) for you to read! You wont be disappointed!!!

I absolutely loved reading the conclusion of Cole and Riley’s story. Riley has done everything to get under Cole’s skin. Even when they are now living under the same roof since their parents are getting married. Cole wants to absolutely destroy her, but he can’t help the feeling that has wormed its way into his heart. The conclusion was amazing and was like fireworks exploding. Their ending was well-deserved and fitting in my eyes. I was a little sad to see their story end because I had gotten attached to them. But I can’t wait to see what else Isla has in store for her readers next!

Savage Lies (Hidden Valley Elite Book 1) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Paloma Fierro 22/2/24

Riley is new to town, as always, for her and her mom are the type that only stay while the cons are good, aka victim of the latter. Now she is facing everything by herself and she is beginning to doubt the motives behind this new setting of things. Her uncle, mom and her are a team, but lately none of them are around or sharing the plan.

Cole is getting by, after her mom suicided, one more year of high school and he is off to Uni where he does not have to deal with his asshole father. But there is a memory that his brain does not let go, a kiss with a strange girl that is burned into the depths of his subconscious.

This strangers to lovers is full of high school drama.

The book starts right where it left off from the previous book, Savage Lies. The way this book is written will keep you on edge and will keep you on your toes, so that you will need to know what’s happening next. There is a lot going on at the same time between the main characters, Cole and Riley. I like how the author goes back and forth between the characters, it does give a sense of how they each relate to what’s going on in the story. Overall, as you start this series, be prepared not to get much done around the house.

The story of Riley and Cole. When Riley and her mother move into Cole and Damon’s home its fair game. Cole will do anything he can to get rid of Riley and her mother the one who ruined their lives. If looks could kill or smolder with lust Cole and Riley would win the biggest prize out there. They can’t keep their eyes off one another yet, they love to hate one another. Riley has her own set of issues which keeps her from getting close to anyone, and now they are under one roof as their parents are getting married. However, Riley has a dark secret one that Cole will do everything in his power to uncover but at what cost. A great read.

This one picks up right where book one ends and just like the first one it was great. This time I had no problem sinking right into Cole and Riley’s world. I’m sad to leave these characters because they really captured a piece of my heart. Cole had me cursing his name a lot but you can’t help but understand that underneath it all he’s just hurt by his past. Riley will always have my heart she’s got sass and I just overall loved her character. There’s romance, suspense and everything I love in a story. I’m looking forward to more from this author. Five stars and highly recommended!
