I love snuggling up to a cozy mystery and I enjoyed this story! Set in the 1860’s…. coming off of a long journey on a boat are women “brides” from Australia looking to make their way in British Columbia. All of the women turn to Alyssa when things get complex as a hotel owner ends up dead…something wrong with the gold that is being stored….and to top everything off an epidemic and a killer is on the loose! Twists and turns along the way, a little love interest…. I also love how all the women look up to Alyssa and are hopeful she can find the killer before it is to late.

This story was full of diverse characters, friendships, a terrific plot, a beautiful cover and so much more. I have personally never read anything by this author before but after reading this one. I will be on the lookout for more. Their writing style was unique, their character development was terrific, and overall the story was amazing. Full of a hopless romantic, a jerk the size of Texas, and friends that will do anything to protect each other this book was impossible to put down.

This is the first book that I have read from this author and i was not disappointed. This book is the fourth book in the Firehouse 13 series. But don’t not let that stop you from picking it up and reading. This story is absolutely amazing, and it suck you in, so you aren’t able put it down long enough to do your daily tasks. Even if you haven’t read the rest of the series yet, this book can be read as a standalone but i recommend reading the other books also, so you’ll understand everything a little better. This book brought out a lot of different feelings inside of me including loss, love, and comfort. This book does a great job of shining a light on mental health and how it can affect the relationships you hold.
Each character has their own unique qualities. Sol, a retired firefighter, holds onto his injury and lets it affect every part of his life. Where Ember, a rookie firefighter, takes life by the horns and works hard in her career. The two of them together create sparks that could very easily start a fire.
I can’t wait to read the other books in the series and other books from the author in the near future.

Oofta! This book hit me right in the feels. Dogs are just something special and the author hit right on point. You can absolutely feel how much she loved her sweet pooch. If you want to feel sentimental, this is what you are looking for. You will certainly feel the authors pain and admiration for her four legged love. Highly recommend!

I have quickly fallen in love with this series, and it has also become one of my goes To’s. I have let all of my friends and family know about this series. I loved the first two books in the series, and this one was certainly no different. I loved the story development as well as the character development between the first two books and this one. As always, the author crafted together a wonderful engaging story, with everything I love about their writing. I was not able to put this book down until I finished it from beginning to end. The author knows how to capture a reader’s attention and transport them into the story. I love books where I can see and feel everything the characters are, feel like I’m right next to the character, and they did just that. It’s a rare skill to do and not many authors have the ability. I will definitely be reading more of their books in the future.

This is the second book in the Donovan Trait series by Seelie Kay and is just as intriguing as the first book. Seelie Kay sprinkled a little more intensity over this book but made sure to throw in some light-hearted humor to break up the tension. This book is a fun paranormal romantic suspense, with vampires, lawyers, vampire politics and law, agendas, uncovering the truth, and more. And as with the first book, Ye Gods! has an original take on vampire lore. If you loved the first book, then you really will want to grab a copy and dive in. If you have yet to read ‘First, We Kill All the Lawyers’, then I highly recommend that you do before starting on this story. There is important backstory, character details, and key information contained in Book One, which will definitely enhance your reading experience of this book. I’m excited to continue on reading this series in the near future.

Donovan Trait is a highly respected lawyer- a superstar in courtroom circles, but there is more to him than meets the eye. For one, he’s a vampire who’s over 300 years old. The bodies are piling up, with no idea who could be targeted next. Donovan will need to do something to draw out the killer, especially if he is to protect those he cares about. What ensues makes for a gripping and suspenseful read. Add in the intriguing vampire lore details, the other paranormal elements, and a sweet romance I was hooked. The ending leaves an opening for more. I can’t wait to see what the author has instore for this series.

Danielle Jacks done amazing writing this book. I feel like she could have gave more details and stretched some of the chapters out to make it longer. It is very informative on how people with PTSD and triggers live their day to day lives after an accident. It helps show that not everyone is perfect, but we can all still find love even through our imperfections.
After Sol’s accident he didn’t know who he was anymore, so he turned to the bottle. He pushed everyone away and drank in his sorrows, that is until Ember came along. Ember has always looked up to Sol. He was her mentor when she first came to the firehouse. He has always been her crush ever since she seen his calendar work. She keeps trying to push her way into his life and get him to open up, maybe once he sees her therapist aunt Jackie he will give her a chance.

This was an enjoyable and engaging novel about true friendship and the obstacles that can get in the way of that friendship. Melody, Imani, and Lance are three college friends, who are either searching for true love, NFL fame or a successful engineering career. Melody is the naive romantic one, who’s aim is to find true love whilst at college, just like her parents did, but is she willing to sacrifice her soul to find it. Imani, is at college to gain a chemical engineering degree and is aiming for good grades, but will she miss out on the friendship that could offer her more. Lance is serious about his football and protecting his girls, and his protection is needed when a threat appears and tests more than their friendship. When Melody meets Kevin, she thinks she’s found true love, but will her quest for love endanger not only her life but that of her friends. I liked all three of the main characters, who are very likeable and relatable, and the dynamic between the friends rings true, with the dialogue between them feeling very natural. I liked how the book is written with all three of them having a voice and telling the story from their own points of view. I thought the prologue gave away a bit too much of the storyline, which took away some of the suspense for me, but it didn’t stop me from happily turning the pages. The storyline deals with some difficult themes, but does so sensitively. I felt immersed in the friends world and I look forward to the next two books in this trilogy.

I think every woman would know someone that she’d like to send to the Queen of Hearts!! This book was a little different than I expected, but I was not disappointed!! I have not read any other books in this series but I believe this little stand alone served it’s purpose…to get me to read the other books! 🙂
Mimi Mioyo (I love how that name rolls off the tongue) is fed up over the way that men can get by treating…or mistreating, women. Thus, she becomes the Queen of Hearts. Any man who can beat her at a game of Stolen Hearts has an opportunity with her that other men are clamoring for. The thing is, would they be if they knew what *really* happens behind the Queen’s doors?
Jac is a new guy in town who claims to be Mimi’s new dealer. Mimi isn’t sure she can trust anyone else but Jac does something to earn her trust…but will it ever be a complete trust? He is a man after all!
I love how this story intertwines so many facets of things that, unfortunately, happen today. While this is a work of fictional fantasy, I know that some will wish some of these events to come true in their own lives. There are some deep topics covered in this book but all in all, I found it to be a very enjoyable read on a stormy afternoon. I look forward to reading other books in this series!

Holly finds herself at a new high school, trying to fit in with the in-crowd. She finds the popular crowd are not welcoming but one handsome guy catches her eye. She quickly learns that this handsome fella is a bit mysterious due to his strange absences. This pet of the story quickly gave me Twilight/Edward Cullen vibes for a few seconds. Holly soon learns that although this guy is handsome, he’s definitely a jerk.
Nathan is the mysterious guy that has caught Holly’s attention and he has a secret. By accident, Holly learns of his secret which could have devastating circumstances for Nathan if she chooses to leak the information to their fellow high school students. Nathan has to decide how to handle the issue and to what extent he will protect his secret. Drama ensues.
I found the book to be a fast read and enjoyed the character building. The author did a great job representing the behavior and actions of a bunch of hormonal teenagers.
Hang in to your seats while this roller coaster of emotions hit you from beginning to end.

This is a great mystery and just like any great mystery, it made it an enjoyable read. This is my first book by this author and I would have to say that I’m impressed! This is a well written, well thought out story that is full of suspense and was honestly hard to put down. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into a different time and place in history. The characters are strong, creative, supportive and it truly helped bring the story to life. I found this book to be fast paced, entertaining and engaging. This is a unique story about finding out who is a murderer in order to restore peace but the murderer is getting desperate. You will truly be left in suspense and don’t want to miss what happens next in this story. I guess you will just have to read and find out what happens with the main characters and the murderer!

This book is the latest on the Pierce Brothers series and is just as fun and entertaining as the last. I loved the characters in this book. They fit so well with the fun and lighthearted feel of the book but still had depth about them. The dual perspective also adds more to the storyline and create a book that is easy to read and fun from start to finish. This is a great series and each book is truly enjoyable. I would highly recommend all of them for any can of this genre.

I have read a couple of books from this author and she continues to blow my mind. This is the third book in the Meraki series. You can read them as a stand alone but there are some previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I was hooked on these characters right from the start and it only took me a few hours to devour this book.
Krystina loves her life. She is becoming a well known blogger and she is also getting to travel. Krystina wants instant fame so she works really hard. She is highly upset when she runs into one of her school enemies. Now he will not leave her alone. Krystina is also in a search to find this man that her grandmother can’t stop talking about. I’m always keen to try out author’s I’ve never read before and when I read the blurb of this book, I just knew that I had to give it a chance. I’m a total sucker for a good romantic suspense novel and that’s exactly what I got with this book. I was pulled into this story from the very beginning. The author had me hooked straight away and wasn’t willing to let me go. Thankfully, I was a very willing passenger on this great ride. The story flows along quickly and is full of action, intrigue, danger and suspense. Added to that is an almighty blast of angst as the two main characters, would be assassin Sera and her would be victim Cassius top toe around one another. Set in the dark underworld of drugs, this is dark and raw in parts but is a fantastic read that I just didn’t want to put down. It is most definitely with the 5 stars that I’m giving it.

This book caught my interest as soon as I read the blurb. I am a sucker for an enemies-to-lovers story, even if it is frienemies-to-lovers. This book is about Bridger and Tia. The chemistry between the two sets the pages on fire. Bridger is a playboy whose image and game are on the rocks. While Tia is troubled by decisions in her past. It caused her to lose her job and now she found herself attracted to what she vowed to stay away from him. We watch their story play out. I loved every minute of it. I definitely recommend this book.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I enjoyed reading it. The plot was awesome and the way the author described the scenery had me really imagine I was there. The character were well written and the way they played off of each other was great. I will definitely be reading more of this authors work.

Everything seems fine until a death occurs and one of Alyssa’s women has been blamed. An amazing and quick paced cozy mystery. I didn’t know until I finished there is another in this series and this can absolutely be read as a stand alone!

We learn more about Bridger’s past and how he got his “playboy” status. Fall in love with the characters all over again and learn more about their emotional feelings toward one another. You are drawn back to Astoria Bay and all the romance that comes with dating members of the Thunder hockey team. Get to know more of the players and their lives. A truly great sequel to the first book.

The writer does an amazing job with the openness during her family’s hardships she shares. I’m an animal lover, and I have three dogs of my own and babysit for friends when they need it. It’s heartbreaking to know that our furry best friends are going through something this difficult with no understanding of what’s happening to them.
I appreciate all of the effort that the author put into her book. And I commend her for open show of emotion. She’s real and open about the pain and how things were when things seemed to be getting better. When it was all falling apart, she still managed to document all of this.
I am just so glad to be able to read this book. Though it’s a hard subject, I hope that it reaches anyone and everyone who needs to know they’re not alone in the hard times with our furry babies.

You immediately fall in love with the characters of this book. From the moment you meet Brynn Macintosh and her best friend Tia you immediately feel drawn to these two girls and their lives. Then of course you can’t help but fall in love with the Thunder Bay hockey team. Team Captain Levi, the “playboy” Bridger, and the other members of the hockey team will keep you on your toes. A great read about long lost love and rekindling that spark.

Remi is living in a dark place, a billionaire who has strived to be the best and hide his past, but he has always had a core group of friends who have been there through all the issues with his dad and stepfamily especially his bully of a stepbrother.
He always felt safe and wanted at his friend Graysen’s house, with Mrs Wu always trying to feed them up and show warmth and love he did not have at his own home. As the year’s went on and college came and went Remi built his empire up around the Waterfront of his youth, but now will his past come back and the darkness seep deeper.
Audri Wu has always been the only girl in the group of boys that were constantly at her house, but she has always had a soft spot for Remi. While working at her job she becomes the target of harassment, although she has been to HR nothing really gets sorted but then suddenly there is an announcement that the company has been sold and in walks Remi, but as the chemistry between the two of them intensifies can they make a relationship work or will the past shatter it wide open.
This is the first time I have read anything by this author, and I loved the story and the characters. Remi and Audri’s characters complimented each other brilliantly with the dark and light. I love a forbidden love story and with the twist within this story just had me turning the pages to get to the thrilling parts, although I enjoyed the story it did in my opinion took a while to get going but I understand the backstory had to be told as this led them to this part.
The secondary characters where also a brilliant added addition and hope that this series grows so we get to see the other friends’ lives expanded and delve into the world of the Waterfyre in more detail.

5 Stars The Colors of Friendship (The Colors Trilogy Book 1) by K.R. Raye
The Colors of Friendship is the first book in The Colors Trilogy. I honestly wasn’t sure quite what to expect going in but once I started reading I had a hard time putting it down. There are some things that may be a trigger for some as there is some scenes with Domestic violence. This is a fairly new author to me and I definitely plan to check out what other books they have written. This authors style of writing along with amazing characters make for a fun yet emotional ride. This is a story about Melody,Imani and Lance these three meet at college and click. Melody is the romantic type and wants to be like her parents and find her true love while in college. Imani is the non nonsense type and she wants yo obtain a Engineering degree while obtaining good grades. Then there’s Lance and he’s all about protecting his girls f and of course football. These three are all opposite yet there friendship means everything. When Melody gets in a situation will Lance be able to save her before it’s too late? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author and this Trilogy.

In the third installment, Julia is plagued by apparitions that only she can see and hear. This causes her to betray people she calls family to Valentino, The King of Vampires.
The last thing Matthew wants to see is Julia after her betrayal. He is finally building a new life for himself.
I really enjoyed this novel. I couldn’t stop myself from reading. The author has a way of making one invested in the characters and the consequences of their actions.
I don’t want to give too much away but I highly suggest reading this series.
I saw that there will be a fourth novel and I am really excited.

This book was excellent! I really enjoyed reading Ellawyn’s story. Her courage and strength of spirit were an inspiration. Seeing the relationships between the characters is always beautiful to me as well! However, my favorite part is the haven she finds in the midst of an escape from her prison. Starlight Books being her haven is something I can completely understand, seeing as books are my safe place too. I love stories that take place in small towns because the camaraderie is almost inevitable and the relationships that can be built are so enduring. If you enjoy books with a strong female lead, romance, and some suspense, this is definitely a must read!

Love is Worth Fighting for (The Meraki Series Book 3)
I loved this book though it did trigger me a bit with Covid and hospitalization during that time. I was admitted for 9 days for something thankfully not Covid in May of 2020, my only company was the hospital staff during that time. I know how lonely and afraid I felt at times, couldn’t imagine not being able to say goodbye to a loved one.
Loukas and Krystina have known each other their entire lives and have had their ups and downs during those years but a global pandemic changes everything for them. They certainly deal with a lot in this book and I shed several tears all the way through.
Loukas makes me want to hug him for so many reasons. His family and how lost he feels at times really brings out the Mama bear in me.
Krystina’s fire and determination were great with a touch of frustrating at times. She like all of the other members of her family are very passionate and feels everything with her heart.
I really want to be adopted by this amazing family. The pride in their Greek heritage and how important family is and it doesn’t matter if they are blood or not. The recipes shared are an added bonus for sure.
