Reigning Hearts is a collection of 5 short stories/novellas, all of these are standalone and can be read in order or separately. I couldn’t help but devour this entire series in one sitting and get invested in each page, character, and storyline. I was so sad when I finished the last page and I will definitely be exploring the author’s other books. The world-building and character development were well executed in such a short period of time.

(1) Run to the Sea – A Friends to Lovers Beach Romance
This was a great story to start off the series and who doesn’t love a second chance romance, full of all of the warm, happy, cosy feels. I really felt like I was following a true love story and I couldn’t help but get invested and root for them from the start.

(2) Stars Fall From the Sky – A Small Town Second Chance Romance
I needed the tissues for this one, this story tore my heart to shreds. The exploration of was powerful and so raw.

(3) A Sun So Bright – A Billionaire Heiress Enemies to Lovers Romance
Who doesn’t love a fake boyfriend trope?! When two unlikely people meet what will happen when the sparks fly? This was a great read and I did really enjoy it, I did really struggle with Fiona at the beginning and spent most of my time wanting to slap her. The storyline and writing were what saved this.

(4) I’ll See You Again – A Scottish Rock Star Opposites Attract Romance
This was the cutest story ever! I loved the characters of the wedding planner and wedding singer and it made my heart so happy. I rooted for this romance so much I was disappointed when the story ended.

(5) A Cold Creek Christmas – A Single Dad Small Town Holiday Novella
MY FAVOURITE TROUPE! There is something so much more attractive about the single dad. I read this in May and was transported to cozy December nights and the heartwarming season of Christmas. I really appreciated the grinch and Christmas cheer aspect of the relationship. I fell in love with Gio and would happily throw myself at him.

This one of the most original, intense, and intriguing, paranormal romance stories that I’ve read so far this year. It turns out that nothing is as it seems. Avery is attacked by what is thought to be a serial killer but turns out to be something else (read it and find out, you know you want to). Twists and turn, suspense at every corner had me holding my breath. I loved every minute of this story. The characters all had that are of mystery about them. There was just something off. I felt like everyone was suspicious. The plot flowed well even with all the twists and turns. The tone was like watching a great psycho thriller from the 80’s (my generation). I’d give it more than 10 stars if I could. It’s that could and you should hit that one-click button. Book two of series.

The Scent of Gardenias by Lorraine Haas

Wow The Scent of Gardenias is a wonderfully written story that is packed with heart warming and heart wrenching moments that had my emotions all over the place. I’m a huge fan of Historical Romance/Fiction and this one checked all the boxes. I was expecting to be pulled into the story as much as I was. I found myself reading way into the early morning hours because I had to know what was going to happen. This is a fairly new author to me and she’s got a new fan. Her attention to detail simply blew me away. Everything she was describing was so vivid and I felt like I was right there with her. This is a story about Margaret and her journey through her struggles with her family life, love ,betrayal and so much more. I recommend having a tissue near by there are moments I shed a few tears and my heart hurt for her. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next . I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Oh my gosh. This book has had made feel all the feels! All of Elois’s frustrations and heartbreak were mine, and every glimmer of hope she felt, I felt as well. I wanted to take her and wrap her in a warm blanket and never giver her away. Sébastien was literally meant for her! He brought her joy and kept all of her secrets. He goes on this adventure just for her. Seeing them grow together only made me root for them more! The writing was well done and I was pulled in from the start. I devoured this book in a day and still wanted more! I will definitely be adding this author to my reading list!!!

This is the fifth and final book in this series and I’m sad it has to come to an end. I found this story to be original which made it that much more exciting to read. This story is full of danger, vampires, twists and turns, politics, and great characters. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down, I kept turning the pages needing to know what was going to happen next. This book took me on an unexpected journey. The author did an exceptional job writing a great series and keeping me on the edge of my seat. Rowena has been through so much but she stays strong throughout. I can’t wait to read what the author gives us next. I recommend this book.

I loved taking the next step in Cat’s story with her! Cat talks her parents into a trip to see relatives so she can try to discover why her baking works the way it does. With the help of her cousin Robyn, Cat goes on a difficult journey of lesson learning and discovery. With help from their GG, they go on the hunt for all their answers. Little did they know, they may just help their family as much as their family helps them.

This story was so fun to read with my daughter. We enjoyed it just as much as we did the first book. There is so much detail in the story that you can picture it as you read. My daughter is ten, almost eleven and she could not get enough of this. It is relatable to younger and older readers alike. Cat’s curiosity and outgoing personality create a very engaging and fun character. We can’t wait to see where Cat’s journey takes her next!

Oh my goodness!! This is was a page turner!! I could not put this book down! Margaret Rose, which is the main character…had lived through so much heartbreak and adversity, and still refuses to give into life’s hardships. She had a rough start in life, and continues to face many different difficulties. Through it all Margaret Rose refuses to let life bring her down, she’s determined to find a way to make her mark in this world, one way or another. I could go on and on, but I don’t want to ruin the book. Lorraine Haas outdid herself with this book. To say I enjoyed this book is an understatement, I found myself lost in this book. The Scent of Gardenias is hands down one of my new favorite books.

This beautifully written book is a treasure and I hope all fantasy fans get the chance to read it. The gorgeous cover had me hooked with the deep colors with a pop of brilliant gold in the center. This magical story starts with following Anna, a young woman who realizes she is in danger once her special abilities come to light and impacts her teaching position. Fate helped her escape the states and travel to Ireland for safety. She meets others like her with strange magical powers, all while trying to learn more about her own power, how to protect herself and others, as well as trying to make a decision about volunteering for a future position within the Phae organization.

Anna finds herself partially covered in scales with skin that screams for the water. She also has a spectacular affinity for somewhat controlling water. However, due to fear and discrimination of those who are not of Unhidden Blood.

The story also introduces other incredible characters such as Max, a military vet with a love of flying and the habit of drinking. He wasn’t thrilled about coming to Ireland, but fellow newbie Phae recruiter, Hiroki, successfully recruited him by making several promises, one of which was access to a new plane. Max is a grumpy old man, he has an impressive background and is a great pilot. He also has the magical ability to speak to the wind, which he is struggling with at the beginning of this book.

The Byrne family’s farm is one of the many training locations for the Phae and they welcome the new folks who have uncovered their Unhidden Blood talents. The family’s personalities are incredible, including the wonderful children. I truly enjoyed the way the author incorporated the different folks into the training location along with the Byrne family. With a large group of folks in one single location for any amount of time could prove to be interesting in any setting, let alone one where the Phae are often on alert for any type of attack from those who misunderstand and refuse to accept those with Unhidden Blood.

I cannot wait to see what the next book will have in store for the characters/story/plot.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

This was definitely not at all what I expected this book to be about just from the title. I was blown away by all the details and thought out plot that the author put into this book.

I love Greer as the main female character, a fierce protector of those who are important to her, kind to a fault, and stronger than people give her credit for. After being uprooted from her life in Paris and placed among the casket girls set to be married to a complete stranger. Greer makes friends with other casket girls and after feeling as though the dark dreams weren’t really dreams she starts realizing that her friends and herself are nothing more than food from a darkness no one can fathom. Theron who has claimed Greer as his own realizes his own feelings have not only put him in danger but Greer as well. Now facing Hades’ wrath , Greer realizes she wants to save Theron but what can she offer to Hades, the god of the underworld? Why is it Theron can’t seem to let go of Greer?

I absolutely loved the mixing of Greek mythology with paranormal beings and how the author flawlessly incorporated them into one delicious story. I could not stop reading this book and now am off to get the second just so I can see what else happens! I am hooked and if you like paranormal romances with action and intrigue I think you will be too. This is definitely a must read!

What a fun and entertaining book. The characters are lively and feel real. Caspian is a sweet young boy with a sense of curiosity that makes every Unbirthday fun. His grandfather gives him very cool gifts. The pictures are bright, colorful and keeps childrens attention as you are reading. I read this one to my grandson and it was a big hit. A definite recommendation for story time and for any child’s collection.

Another cute book from this author. In this Magic Wand Book Caspian receives another UnBirthday present, well actually two of them. They, as all the other presents, are very special. As the title states, Caspian receives a mind reading hat. Whose mind will he be able to read? Where do these minds take him: on an adventure, in search of more gifts, etc.? These books are great for kids. They allow them to use their imagination. It leads them to thinking that what seems silly or impossible might just be real.

This is the second book I have read by this author, and the second story I have read with Caspian. I really love the art work and the story line. Caspian’s grandfather has all of these magical items that are given to Caspian on his unbirthdays and he gets the joy of learning in this book, what the hat and stone do for him. This is such a great story to get the imagination flowing in kids.

This is an excellent paranormal romance by an author I had never read before. I’ve recently started reading more paranormal romance and I was attracted by the blurb of this book, so decided to give the author a chance. I’m glad that I took the chance as I really liked this book very much.
Set in 1782 in New Orleans, Greer had been happily selling flowers on the streets of Paris when she was kidnapped and put on a boat filled with other women and taken to Paris to stay in a convent until they were married off.
I loved reading Greer and Theron’s story. Women at that time we supposed to be meek and subservient. Greer was very much the opposite – sassy, opinionated and not scared to get into trouble. Theron could not help the attraction he felt towards her, even though she was supposedly just a thing for him to feed on.
I really enjoyed reading about the secondary characters in the book, the girls that Greer befriended on the boat journey over and at the convent. I particularly liked Desiree and hope we get to see more of her in this series. I admit I wasn’t too enamoured with Edith but she may be redeemed in time…or not.
This is a great book and I look forward to reading more of this series in the future.

This has become one of my favorite authors, though this is the first book in this series I have read. There are parts of the story that are for mature audiences only. Juliet and Gage meet in an unconventional way, an attempted rescue that was not a rescue after all. Neither thought they would ever see each other again.
Their paths crossed again at an underground cage fighting event. Juliet’s roommate, Ten, was fighting to hopefully earn money for their rent. Twists and turns and some very steamy turns later…..I felt like I was in the book right there with the characters. This author does a great job of drawing you in and making you forget that you are in a fantasy world and life is going on around you.

Margaret Rose wants to be more than her mother. She wants independence, and she just might be strong enough to get it. This historical retelling will take you back to WWII. Living in poverty and having an domineering father. Makes Margaret Rose try that much harder. What lies ahead for her and where she ends up you will need to read this powerful woman’s story. I don’t usually read historical books, but this one caught my interest. I am so pleased with this story and the author who wrote it. This story is well written and easy to follow. For some, it may bring up memories of those days and the loss that was experienced. Be prepared to ride the emotional rollercoaster. Remember to bring tissues, chocolate, and your drink of choice as you will be here for a while.

I’m completely in shock at how amazing this book was! I recall flipping through the pages early on and thinking it would be a really long read but it wasn’t. The story flowed so well. At every turn I wanted to jump inside the book and encourage Margaret. The development of all the characters was very well done within the story, I was not a fan of Pa from the start! This story felt very realistic, loosely based on a true story, but it gave me perspective on how our parents grew up. This book has a gut wrenching story but a complete pleasure to read. In the end, the authors note sheds light on the story. After reading this masterpiece I’m looking forward to reading many more books by the author.

The Curse of a Faeblood is a well written Paranormal Fantasy that once you start reading its hard to put down. This is a new author to me but I’m a fan already. Their style of writing and attention to detail is wonderful. Her characters are well developed and fun. It felt like I was apart of the story at times. This is a story that is fast paced and will keep you guessing. Get ready to be taken on quite the with Gavyn and Ember as they seek family members amongst other things. I highly recommend reading this book and im looking forward to reading more from this Author

Full Throttle Sci-Fi!
This was a spectacular book! Strong cast, beautifully written story, and all in a really great backdrop of a future Mars that isn’t shiny and pretty. This is a gritty Mars that is relatable and run by gangs that are race focused and are vaguely reminiscent of pod racing (Star Wars) meets Street Outlaws.
Our Main characters are Snapper, a cyborg with trust issues, who happens to be second in command of Frog Lick and the Full Throttle Gang; and Gina the Android/Synthetic. Gina is trying to learn what it means to be human and as a sentient AI that started as a Ship… It’s interesting. However, she makes a phenomenal mechanic! In order to save Frog Lick, these two have to work together on an experimental engine design in order to win the Regional Race. Of course, it’s not an easy task, as getting the parts requires some “creative acquisition” to retrieve them. Throw in some love triangle drama, sabotage, and some steamy sex scenes; and you have one really space-worthy novel!
I’m now fully invested and can’t wait

I was entranced and caught in the throes of the action. I love Rowena’s final push and thoroughly enjoyed the dark romanticism and unique portrayal of vampires. Read these in order to get the most out of them!!! I will be re-reading them one weekend when I have time to binge!!

While I did enjoy the overall storyline of The Scent of Gardenias, I honestly struggled with the authors writing style. It wasn’t anything drastically different from other historical fictions I’ve read, but I feel the timing and pace of the story could have been structured better. I found myself confused and had to re-read sections to get a feeling for how much time had elapsed, which took me away from the actual story of Margaret Rose trying to survive her life of poverty, single motherhood and other disadvantages of the 1940s America. This is a poignant story of Margaret coping with harsh realities and fighting for a life that is worth living for her children. We see her go through relationships and learning about herself throughout her journey to discovery where her true happiness lies. I do appreciate a strong female character but wanted more background on some of the supporting characters in this story. I wanted them to come to life more for me. Overall, good story of a strong woman struggling to find her freedom and independence in a male dominated world.

This wonderful historical fiction takes you on the journey that is Margaret Roses life…it takes you through the difficult times before, during and after WWII. It truly makes you wonder just how much one person can go through in a lifetime. Margaret dreams and desires more from life than what she is told it should be by her parents and tries to make those dreams a reality. Despite the many hardships Margaret faces over the years, her devotion to her family is something you will never doubt as it is always her focus. This was so well written and had my heart engaged the entire way through. If you enjoy historical fiction I highly recommend you grab a copy today and get reading.

This was such a beautifully written, heartfelt story which I absolutely loved. The author clearly took a lot of time to write this story as I could feel all of the emotions of the character, I could imagine what she was describing, I really did feel like I was sharing in the grief of Margaret at times. Margaret really was such a strong person, with everything she went through, I really did feel for her – she definitely had strength and determination.
I enjoyed following Margaret’s journey, it was very emotional at times and I would definitely recommend it to other readers.
