This is a phenomenal book! It is definitely for 18+ group. From the start Hunter and Rain go through some intense struggles and trials. Can they make it through? There are some things that are not as it seems. Since the United States has fallen, there are some really bad things going on. I was sucked in and could not put the book down unless it was absolutely necessary. I do love a good action mystery. I highly recommend this one.

This is an ever changing story. I have not read the first two in this series but don’t feel like I am missing anything. This one tells of the long time crush that Amelia has had with her brother’s bestie from childhood to current day. There is that lovely push/pull between them as well as the secret that is kept. It’s fun, heart wrenching and full of great characters! I enjoyed meeting these characters and learning all about them.

Forever is the 9th and final instalment in the Diamond Doms series by Ivy Nelson. I have done this completely backwards and started reading this series by reading the final book. I enjoyed it so much and I’m intrigued by so many of the other couples in it that I have the first 8 books on my kindle now and hope to find time to read them soon. This book is filled with so much drama, intrigue and danger. I was glued to it from the very beginning and just didn’t want to put it down. As well as the drama and intrigue, this is a BDSM book. It’s unlike any BDSM book that I have ever read. I had never previously read a book that contained sadism/masochism. I really had my eyes opened with some of the workings of this kind of relationship. I have to admit that one of the acts that Gemma, the masochist, liked to have carried out on her, really disturbed me. I had no idea that this was something any woman would ever want carried out on her. This did not affect my enjoyment of the book. It just surprised me a great deal. I do have to say that I absolutely loved reading Russell and Gemma’s story. Both are amazing characters that I could have read so much more about. I definitely recommend this book and I look forward to reading the first 8 books in the series.

Born To Fight is the first book in the Can’t Resist You series by Brittany Anne.
The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world, nothing is as we know it now, and the presence of good and evil is very real. Rain has lived alone for two years. When she comes across an injured man she knows she cannot leave him to die, but worries about her vulnerable position. Taking Hunter in turns out to be a life-changing decision, as she nurses him back to health they get to know each other, although both know that the other person has more secrets to tell.
I really enjoyed this story, Rain and Hunter are a sweet couple with lots of chemistry. There are also lots of other strong supporting characters which help to bring the story to life. I enjoyed that the story was told from different points of view so that, as the reader, I got the full story and range of emotions. I’m looking forward to seeing how the series develops.

What a thought-provoking book. This is the first book I have read by A. J. Ullman, but it makes me want to search out more. Cady is a white woman lawyer who is getting ready to make partner at her law firm when riding her bike through her sketchy neighborhood, she is accosted, shoots, and kills a black man. Cady has only been carrying a gun for the last couple years due to moving to this neighborhood. And that is how the book starts!! She states self-defense, but not everyone is buying it. BLM is not making it an open and shut case. We learn more about Cady’s backstory and see her changing as the story progresses. Being a lawyer, she is seeing the other side of the judicial system. Does she stand and fight? Does she go to jail? How does this unfortunate situation change her? I really enjoyed that the story makes use of current headlines and social issues. Thank you, A. J. Ullman, for an amazing read!

I adore a good paranormal romance! Toya Richardson has crafted a great story with many twists involved. Its my first read by her, and will not be the last As we are introduced to Elias and Mila you can’t help but fall in love. They are both fierce, loyal, and strong characters. The chemistry between them is off the charts and the sexual chemistry can be felt coming off the pages. When Mila decides to return home after many years due to feeling the pull she discovers a lot about her hometown. Nothing is as she once believed. There is a whole other world of shifters and protectors, and she is one of them who is powerful in her own right. When she meets Elias she learns he is a deer shifter as well as her mate. She must adjust to this new information and fight against Drake who was her childhood bully, and wants her still for his own selfish needs. This book was full of action, steam, and suspense. It was an all around fun read and I cannot wait for more in the series.

his was my first Toya Richardson book, and I really enjoyed it. Being centered around Mila and Elias as fated mates there is romance, action, drama and a bit of suspense – all the makings for a great Paranormal Romance. The connection between Mila and Elias is well written, and overall, the Characters in the book are extremely likable. I look forward to reading more books in this series.

Tricia Copeland is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! Every time I read one of her books I am hooked and this one is no different, Kingdom of Embers is perfect start to a series. I love how your imagination gets lost in this book, the world building is phenomenal making you feel like you are right there experiencing it with Alena. Without giving away any spoilers, I found the plot of this book kept me on the edge of my seat- suspense and drama coaxing me to keep turning the page. Alena had great character growth, and I loved how her story is not just your basic vampire YA book; having a fresh take. I can’t wait for the next book.

This is one of those books that I simply refused to put down, but then was so sad when it was over. I read it too fast! I absolutely loved this book. The fallen world Brittany Anne created and wrote so well, the characters that I connected with, the action and suspense, the growing love and secrets. Just, yes. If you like post-apocalyptic stories read this! And if you don’t? Still, read this!

Born to Fight book 1 by Brittany Anne is a dystopian themed romance novel. When Hunter, a leader of the Resistance movement makes a last minute decision to risk his life taking on 3 UNR soldiers to save a woman being attacked, it proves to be a mistake…but maybe it is fate.
Hunter’s injuries are too much for him to fight through, and he collapses, ready for death, near a river to be found by Rain. Rain has a hard decision of her own to make. It’s been 2 years since she escaped her tormentor and has been hiding on her own. Does she take a chance on the stranger lying near death at the river near her bunker, or leave him to surely die? She decides to haul him back, and spends a long time nursing his unconscious form before he is healed enough to come around.
The rest of the story shows the build of their relationship in the midst of a dangerous world. Will Rain and Hunter be able to trust each other? Will they be together, or is there too much at risk?

Intrigue starts right at the beginning of this one. It begins with hang-up calls, being followed and chased, then threats on the lives of her children. Someone has it out for Shelby Cooper, and they promise not to stop until she is utterly destroyed. There is lots to unpack here; Shelby is obviously hiding much from her family, but we find out about it slowly, as the clues are revealed. The psychological thriller aspect of this book is done very well. The characters fell a bit flat for me… I had trouble caring for them, which took a bit away from the plot. However, Kabongo is a good thriller writer, so if you like being on the edge of your seat, guessing at what’s coming next, this may be a good choice for you.
An excellent and informative story for ocean lovers of any age. This story had me entranced and wanting to read more (I may have said “okay” to the “one more chapter” request a few too many times). I really enjoyed how much detail was written into the story for the reader to fully grasp and understand the ocean’s ecosystem and beings that live within it. It was a charming read that my niece and I loved. Will be looking for more from this author!
Runaway to the Outback(Welcome to Bunya Junction #2)by Nicole Flockton
4out of 5 stars
Runaway to the Outback is the second book in the Welcome To Bunya Junction series written by Nicole Flockton and the first book that I have read by this author. This is a contemporary romance about finding love unexpectedly, throw in a little drama and we have a great story. The characters are well written with strong personalities and the way they play off their little quirks is awesome. This author pays a lot of attention to detail that you feel that you are right there.
Pandora Sebastian flees a taxing photoshoot and takes refuge in Bunya Junction’s only pub all while dressed as a bride and the locals are unexpectedly welcoming. Jonas Carruthers thought he’s seen it all until Pandora bursts into his pub and his life. Pandora need a break from her high-powered career so why not in Bunya Junctions. She needs to go back and fix the PR mess she is in, also the only one who can own her mistakes and rescue her career. Jonas has been the strength she needed but will he understand that she has to go back but she doesn’t think he will stand by her. Will they have a happily ever after or will they walk away from each other?

It took me a little bit to get into the story. While I ended up liking it, I had a hard time connecting with the characters. I did like how Amelia and Teague’s friendship developed into a romance despite the obstacles they had as well as their history. I think the depth of their background together added an interesting dimension to the group dynamic as well. I would definitely read more books by this author and possibly the first two in the series. Even though books like these are standalones, I always feel I’m missing something when I don’t start from book one.

I really enjoyed this story. The author does an amazing job of making the story interested and gripping without giving away too many details and making the person behind it all obvious too early into the story. The story a fast paced psychological Thriller involving murder, revenge and a stalker.
Everyone had a past and secrets from that past. But when their past comes back to haunt them it can destroy the perfect life that now have. That is what is happening to Shelby. Someone is set on getting revenge for something she did in the past, however it not only Shelby they are set out to get, with her children getting dragged into this mess, Shelby know she needs to do whatever this stalker wants to save her family and children. But when she is framed for murder, that puts a different spin on things. The stalker that seems harmless and turned deadly and Shelby now serious worries for her families safety as well as her own. She can’t really get sent to prison for a murder she didn’t commit could she?

In a small town in New Mexico, there is a legend that the residents don’t talk about. Every day down by the riverbank on at dusk the Weeping Woman gains her power and lays in wait to baptize young women who venture too close to the water’s edge. Their pain and tears give her strength and every mother warns their daughter to stay away or else she’ll return with forever damp hair and bloodshot eyes to live in a world of sorrow and never a moment of happiness. Knowing the truth, Mercy and her friend vow to do whatever it takes to keep La Llorona just out of reach.
I had a hard time with the start of this book. The narration style of Mercy talking directly to the reader is not my favorite but I can see why the author chose to go that route. What I appreciate about this book is that on goodreads it’s tagged as a horror which I can definitely see while also striving towards this underlying need for hope and true happiness. In the beginning I wasn’t the biggest fan of Mercy but once we got to the point in life where she was in her late 20s, early 30s I really started to root for her. I liked that the author focused on food and farming as a type of medicine and how it’s easy to have dreams but harder to actually make them become a reality. Even though this isn’t my favorite story, I feel that it’s going to stick with me a lot longer than most which makes me happy that I read it.

“No one could ever comprehend the love Kat and Phillip shared. Theirs was a love that crossed a chasm of time and space into the future. And it was in that future their song would never die.” I think that quote sums up a lot about this book. I had a hard time getting into Loves Refrain at first but I’m so glad I was able to persevere because after the first couple chapters I was hooked. Although I did find the “modern” storyline to be a bit off putting. I’m not sure if it was because of Kat and the older Phillip or the outrageous, jealous, mess that was Spencer. I really did love the story line of Kat and Phillip once she went back in time. Their love was so strong they were able to overcome the obstacles of time and find a way to be together. Overall this is a lovely, light, romantic read that I enjoyed. I will definitely be picking up book number two when it’s released to see where the author takes these two.

Wild Desire The Protector Series Book 1 By Toya Richardson ☆☆☆☆☆ This is a full length Paranormal Romance. A story for those over 18 due to the adult theme.
Mila Stubbs has always had a love for animals. So finding her wandering a forest is normal for this soon to be forest ranger. With her job starting soon she needed to get settled in. Mila has always had a hard life. With her parents killed and the Bully Drake Scott. Moving to the city was her only option. But will these two unlikely people become mated? Will Elias convince Mila she is his mate! Will Drake finely be stopped before he hurts or kills somebody else?
Toya Richardson is my new favorite paranormal author. Her story is fast paced and she leaves you wanting so much more. I was drawn in on the first page and could not stop reading, until the last page had been read. The characters in this story have strong roles and Mila is no push over. She is strong willed and has no problem taking what is hers. As for Elias, he is too hot to handle. The romance between these two people is nothing more than HOT! Hot! HOT! Well Done Toya Richardson! Well Done!

I am officially so excited for Alix Nichols! I was kind of excited after book 1, The Boss Prince, but now I am so excited!! The writing style got better, the plot was wonderful, and the spice is very nice!
Following Sasha, the second Key to the Key, and Arnaud through their scavenger hunt was so much fun! Not only was Sasha witty and charming, she was incredibly smart. Arnaud went through some great developments while searching for the key with Sasha. I am so happy and cannot wait for book 3! Alex Nichols keeps getting better!! @karenmmarsh
Wow! This was such a good book! So most of the time when you read shifter books, its all romance and sex or fighting and fighting! Wild Desire by Toya Richardson has a perfect mix of that in between that you don’t see often. I’m not sure if I would have picked up this book if I had only read the summary, but the few reviews convinced me!
Mila and Elias pissed me off at first! To tease each other and make a mess of things like they did at first makes you have to read more so you can see how they fix it. I very much enjoyed learning more about the community and how it functions. I look forward to reading more of Toya Richardson! @karenmmarsh

‘The Bow’ is the third book in Hazel Storm’s ‘Her Three Immortals’ series and picks up right where its predecessor left off as we continue to follow Vanessa Maan as she juggles the deepening interests of her trio of beautiful Gods and becomes further embroiled in the heavenly power struggle overlooking our world. This third instalment has a special focus on Aroz- the God of Lust- and his relationship with Vanessa and his family. For this reason alone, this quickly became my favourite in the tetralogy so far- the way that light is shed on Aroz’s past and background little by little had me on the edge of my seat and begging for more. As new truths were unearthed and fresh spins were put on established facts with appearances of characters both old and new, Aroz became more and more compelling- shooting him to the top as my favourite of the three Gods. The way that his and Vanessa’s destinies were intertwined gave me butterflies as if Aroz had launched one of his arrows my way through the pages of the book himself.
Despite the spotlight on Aroz, Vanessa’s relationships with Grey and Raef are still given plenty of focus and development in ‘The Bow’. They continue to grow and evolve, and there is a real sense of the deep care and love they all feel towards one another. It’s clear how much Grey and Raef have grown since the first book due to their experiences with Vanessa, their families and the unravelling of their pasts. With the exploration of the ties binding these characters, the readers also learn more about the world they inhabit- of both the dangers and the allures of a realm run by beings with unfathomable power. It was a delight to learn more about how the Underworld and especially Elysium functions, and the fight to keep it afloat with interferences from all four corners threatening to crumble it down.
In conclusion, if you loved ‘The Don’ and ‘The God’, then you will love ‘The Bow’ which has tenfold of what its predecessors have and more. If you’re in the mood for steamy romance, captivating drama and enchanting myths and legends, then be sure to pick this book up.

Weep, Women, Weep starts out with Mercy and Sherry living their lives the best they can while planning their futures in the city. All that changes when La Llorona drags Sherry under water and almost gets Mercy. After that day, Mercy’s life changes. Mercy gets hit with a lot of difficult life events that leave the reader wondering how she has the strength to keep going. I loved watching Mercy develop into an independent woman I honestly really liked this story. It made me realize that no matter what life throws at you, you can keep going and make good of your situation. Mercy is a strong hearted woman who never gave up, even when faced with terrible situations. I definitely will be checking out more of this author’s books!

Stand your ground by A.J. Ulman a five-star read that will grip you and only let you go when you feel the shot. This won’t be a story for everyone, as some people will miss the underlying theme to the story, maybe it’s because I don’t live where this is set, so I see the outside perspective, or maybe it just that I always try to be the devils advocate and show people both sides, and that’s what this story does so well, the author has a great way of showing you everything while keeping it hidden, it is almost like the wizard of Oz, you know what you are seeing, but there is so much more in reality. If you like a good thriller that has a voice that needs to be heard it is very current so will be raw to many, but this is something everyone should read.

Born to Fight by Brittany Anne is a fight-worthy four-star read. This is number one in the Can’t Resist You series and I am hopefully number two will give me some details that I missed in this one, it was such a great read, I was so close to giving it five stars but there were just some things that I couldn’t get passed. I love sinking my teeth into a good apocalyptic drama, so this was right up my street, the drama and action are very well done and most of the story flows well, the characters are developed, it was just the history that I didn’t get. Hopefully, the next instalment will fulfil what I want and be able to round the story to a full five stars.
