Kingdom of Embers (Kingdom Journals Book 1) by Tricia Copeland – Review by Allyson Ware
Tricia Copeland is a great writer. I enjoyed this book, but it did take me a little time to get into it; just a little slow on the takeoff is all. The character development was amazing. Copeland had me convinced that I could smell Theron in the stadium and Hunter’s cold hands on mine. I also enjoyed the different take on vampires and witches, it was refreshing.
I would recommend this book to any reader that enjoyed the Twilight series. I have a feeling that the drama is only beginning with Alena and Hunter. I’m looking forward to reading the second book.

Cursed Luck by A.J. Renee is funny, witty and romantic. Edward and Mia are fated to be together; but, like a lot of us, they tend to fight or misunderstand what the signs are telling us. They have chemistry and man, do they fight it. I fell in love with this couple watching their interactions. Mia is fascinating because of her earth powers! The garden she created for Serena… Fantastic!!! Edward is pretty fascinating because his powers are just WOW!! I can’t even describe them. These two go through some intense adventures and if they can come out good on the end of the trials then maybe there is hope?! This whole series is great. Edward amid Mia just round out this whole family. You have got to get out and purchase this book, better yet, the series. Highly recommend.

No matter where she goes, USA Today Bestselling author Nikki Lynn Barrett hears voices in her head. Instead of calling her crazy and locking her up, her family realizes it’s just a product of being an author and allows her to write the stories so that the voices shut up.
But they don’t. And probably never will. There’s no need to lock her up, Nikki knows she’ll never escape the voices, not until each and every last story is written. And for every story she writes, about ten or more ideas pop up.
When she isn’t slaving away at her computer writing books that will probably make you cry and keep you in suspense, Nikki plots to take over the world one book at a time. What? It’s a sickness. One she can’t escape!
Books aren’t her only addiction, though. Nikki can be found making up parodies to drive her son crazy, and bantering back and forth with her husband, who somehow manages to steal her away from the fictional world she lives in all the time.
Nikki lives in Arizona with her husband and son, where she can be found using every creativity outlet she can find through music, photography, handcrafted things, and random interests that she may pick up from time to time.

What a unique and timeless romance that exists between the covers of this book. Such and amazing tale of passion, mystery, true love and that desire we all feel. I loved Kat. She is a true heroine and I really think her strong determination and amazing talent are wonderful but it is really her heart that makes this story so great. Phillip was described so well you get to know him down to his dimples. This novel kept me turning pages from the moment I read it until I finished it. I really enjoyed how detailed the story is and I love that it just pulls you in. I honestly can not wait for book two!

Tenacious (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 6) by Via Mari is amazing. Although I haven’t read the earlier books in the series, I was able to get wrapped up in the story. The patience that Nick Montgomery shows to wait for Allie O’Conner to truly trust in him melted my heart. It doesn’t hurt that Nick is a bodyguard who exudes his alpha maleness! The story of Allie and Nick has romance, danger, suspense, and so much more! As soon as I started the book, I knew I couldn’t put it down until I was finished and I wasn’t disappointed. I can’t wait to pick up the rest of the series.

I loved this paranormal romance! Wild Desire by Toya Richardson had everything I would need to satisfy my obsession with supernatural beings, if it be shifters, vampires, witches, etc. Mila is a character well written who has major developments happened throughout and the author did not disappoint when writing about her growth. Then there’s Elias who has so much depth and culture written into his character. The growth between Elias and Mila by themselves and together is wonderfully written. I really couldn’t rave about it more! When their livelihood is threatened Elias, being Mila’ mate, would do everything in his power to keep her safe. Being shapeshifters as well as having other powers, has drawn interest from Scott Tech for experimentation and torture. Do they succeed? Do they fail? Or do they do enough to keep themselves and their own family safe? All that and so so much more is here, within the pages of this book. I dare you to find out what happens!

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven Book 5) by AJ Renee – Review by Krista Vaughan
Edward meets Mia at a gathering of family and friends. Their interest was immediate. Unfortunately, Edward forgets how to speak to a woman and he ticks her off more than anything else. Mia is a free spirit and Edward is so serious and stiff. Opposites attract? This is a great story of witches, family and the life you can have if you can allow yourself to accept fate.

Wrong for Him by Christi Barth is a sweet forbidden romance. One where the best friend’s little sister is off limits. While reading it I got a Hallmark movie feel from it, which definitely kept me interested. Christi Barth did not disappoint, I loved this book! Amelia, Alex, Everleigh, and Teague were going through a rough patch in their lives. Until one Christmas Eve that all changed. They bought these scratch-offs thinking nothing could come of it, little did they know they were about to win a quaint little Inn in Chestertown, MD. This story revolves around the trials and tribulations of running an Inn with your best friends and family. Would it work out? Would they fail? You would have to take a gander to find out for sure. On top of all that, there’s a forbidden romance building between Amelia and Teague. Amelia being Alex’s little sister and Teague’s best friend is off-limits. Unfortunately for either one of them, trying to navigate the feelings that they develop for one another is a different story. Christi Barth did a wonderful job keeping me as the reader, “in the wanting to know what happens next category, between Teague and Amelia.” Also how that dynamic would affect the Inn they are running together as a whole. If you have a guilty pleasure of watching Hallmark movies like I do, this book is definitely for you!

The story of Edward and Mia was everything I hoped for and so much more! SO well written with an incredible flow and plot! The third instalment of this series DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I truly couldn’t get enough if I tried. Do yourself a favour and read them all! Too good! Pauline Gruber you have captivated me, made me forget I have a family, and kids because I simply couldn’t put this book down! Lucy is the strong smart girl that I wish I was growing up! 10 out of 10, couldn’t recommend enough. Your writing style is amazing, your words flow in a way that makes me feel as though I’m there in the very moment and it is something I treasure when I read really good books from really good authors!

This is one heck of a page-turning thriller. From the beginning scene in the restraint until the heart-rendering scene at the end, you just can’t put the book down. This is writing that grips you at the heart and has you feeling every emotion and feeling that the character feels. Every description has you feeling like you are there in the story, so vivid and detailed. This is a must read for action and thriller fans. Highly recommend.
Pauline Gruber did NOT hold back with the second instalment in this series! Lucy’s character grows into who we hope she’s going to be even more and the story keeps giving us that thrill. I seriously cannot get enough of this series and I couldn’t recommend it more. The writing, the plot, the flow, all of it just works so well and has us as readers falling for every line! Don’t walk, run, get the books, read them all, and question how this story isn’t far beyond Young Adult categories across the globe. This book is one I wish I had read as a teen, and as a mom, I’m here for it just as much!

The girl and the Raven was a book that truly surprised me! I was enthralled from the beginning and it really made me think of the Harry Potter Series! Pauline Gruber did an amazing job with the plot and it flowed so beautifully! It wasn’t what I expected from a Young Adult categorized book but it truly was attention grabbing and interesting! I am interested to see what comes next for these characters and can’t recommend this book enough! Job well done!!

An unforgettable Dystopian romance. This book had me hooked. Between the world building and the budding romance I could not put this book down. I loved the characters and their will to fight back against those who would take everyone’s free will or kill them.
Rain has been living in hiding and isolation for 2 years until one day she stumbles upon a dying man. She could leave him where she found him. It would be safer for her, but her good heart will not allow that.
The man she saved is none other than Hunter Kane. The leader of the Resistance. A group of people who have dedicated their lives to taking down the tryanny that caused America to fall. They rule and control everything. They are the UNR.
Since meeting Hunter, Rain for the first time has hope that her life can be more than one of solitary confinement. Meanwhile, Hunter begins to wonder if he can have the chance to be more than just a Resistance soldier. The two have an undeniable instant connection, but between secrets and the UNR they may not stand a chance.

This has been one of the most exciting books I have read in a long time. The plot twists and turns of this book are layered with action, suspense, and intrigue. Carson in turn is like no character I have experienced before. She is sexy, worldly, trained and skilled with weapons and hand-to-hand, and extremely clever. An ex-cop she is taking care of her fathers debt to the mafia and everything escalates from there. Her attempt to bring back the Russian cabinet ministers daughter Viktoriya takes an unexpected turn and leads her chasing the girl thru the Underworld. Getting a glimpse of Carson in action makes this novel quite a page turner that is hard to put down.

Cursed Luck is the first book I’ve read by AJ Renee, despite being Broderick Coven book 5. I enjoyed the book from the very first chapter. The author paints a very vivid picture and I felt the words playing out like a movie in my mind. I really enjoyed Mia and Edward as characters and the book in general sparked my interest in catching up on the series. Even though this is an excellent stand alone read, I always feel like I’m missing out when I jump into a series without knowing the background of supporting characters from books prior. I would give Cursed Luck ⅘ stars and I look forward to adding this author to “my authors to look out for” list.

This is such a charming story. I really enjoyed reading The Boss Prince. It was so much fun seeing places in France mentioned that I have actually been to. It lends such a charm to this story and the humor coming from both Max and Lucie lends a touch of realism to their journey. Too often books leave humor out, and there were so many moments in this book that made me laugh and think that totally sounds like something I could see myself saying or thinking. This is such a fun, romantic, mysterious book and the hidden world that the author, Alix Nicho created is just fascinating! I’m really excited to read the other books in this series and see how things unfold with Mount Evor.

As someone who minored in Spanish in college and was always fascinated by the tale of La Llorona, this was the perfect book to read to start off spooky season! Weep, Woman, Weep is a a modern story about the weeping woman, also known as La Llorona, and the effects she has on a small town called Sueño near the Rio Grande. The book follows Mercy in her efforts to remain ‘unbaptized’ by La Llorona, many years passing throughout the span of the book. Watching her attempts to break the generational trauma passed down to her made the book even more fascinating to read.
By the time Santos is introduced more than halfway through the novel, I was sucked in, even more so by his introduction. The automatic chemistry between the two made it impossible to put the book down after that point. Everyone reading this book will be dying to know if true love prevails or if the weeping woman will get her way with Mercy. The only thing I don’t like about the book is that it ended far too quickly, making me wish there was more to this amazingly haunting story!

If you are a fan of action/adventure, history, and suspense, you will LOVE The Guardian’s Legacy (The Coin of Time Series Book 1) by Luciana Cavallaro. I am a fan of authors like Dan Brown, and movies like National Treasure, and this book fits in nicely with those works. An unlikely, but likeable, main character receives a call to action which sets off events that will carry you away from the first page. There is something for every reader in this book: action, adventure, history, myth, suspense, and family secrets. This is a fast-paced read that ended too soon, but thankfully, it is only book one. This author’s writing style is captivating and well-done, and sucks you right into the story. I very highly recommend this book and am awaiting book 2.

This is not the first book that I have read in this series, but I have to say that AJ Renee gets it right each time and each book improves as she goes! This theme of paranormal romance and runs around soul mates who find each other.
In this fifth book, Mia finds herself drawn to the mysterious Broderick brother that she just meets. The two have to get acquainted with each other. And the chemistry between the two is amazing! This is a fast read and has so many twists and turns! Great job again on this book in this series!

Engano: A Carson Action Thriller by Lance Charnes is the second book in the DeWitt Agency Adventures series. This is a fast paced story that is full of suspense. I think the author has created and interesting and detailed plot with the sole purpose of engaging every reader. I did find the book to be very detailed. A few times there was probably more than needed however overall it enriched the story. I became hooked on the story and every twist and turn. This was a great book that just added to the series as a whole.

A shifter romance that’s spicy spicy 🥵 nearly the whole way through is a fabulous escape from reality. 😍 Mila and Elias have an entertaining relationship from their first meeting. I found myself gasping and clutching my imaginary pearls with some of the very alpha comments that Elias made. Mila handles it well from a woman’s point of view. The antagonist in this book is a group of vile science type people, led by the daddy’s boy Drake Scott. Drake Scott has had it out for Mila since she was in grade school and there are no limits to how far he will go to terrorize her life. I was on the edge of my seat a good portion of this book and was not disappointed by the ending. I’ll be keeping an eye 👀 out for the next book in this series.

This is book 5 in the Broderick Coven series and these books keep getting better and better. Like the previous 4 books it is a paranormal romance which lots of surprises and magic. I love the whole idea of soul mates and how the characters are destined to find their one true love.
The main characters in this are Edward and Mia. Edward is part of the Broderick Coven. His magical power is luck. He has intuition skills which makes him very successful in business. But love isn’t for him..and he doesn’t plan on looking for it.
However when the beautiful florist/witch called Mia comes into his life all that changes. But things aren’t plan sailing. They both seem to rub each other up the wrong way. Can this love/hate relationship settle to just love or are they destined to make each others life hard forever?

Cursed Luck (Broderick Coven Book 5) by AJ Renee. This is the 5th installment in the Broderick Coven series and its the story of Edward. Edward thinks he’s not meant for love until he meets Mia. He can’t stop thinking about Mia and even though she’s trying not to she can’t help but think about Edward all the time! Mia has a flower shop and Edward’s magic is knowing just what she needs to make her business better. When Edward’s family meets Mia they immediately know she is his mate. When Edward is around Mia he keeps saying the craziest things and Mia doesn’t know what to make of him. Will he help Mila keep her business going and will she fall for his crazy self? I have loved this series and I think this was my favorite so far!

This is a mystery solving story that I enjoyed. This is a new author for me and I look forward to seeing what is next for her. This is a well written story that takes place during the 1930s. Three people are invited as guests to a party but unknown to them their host needs their help to solve a mystery of missing documents. Will they figure out this mystery before it goes public? I enjoyed the characters and what they brought to the story. They pulled me into the story almost from the beginning. It is fast paced in parts and engaging in others. I also enjoyed the growth of the plot throughout the story. This is a great story that I highly recommend.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series and this latest installment lives up to my expectations. The author writes the books solidly and in such a way that someone could pick them up without having read the whole series. I love how the main character has developed throughout the series. She is a fantastic lead and love watching how she progresses through each new mystery. If you love a good crime thriller with spunk, this book and series should be on your TBR list.

Silent Gavel is the first book in the A Crawford Mystery Series by Merissa Racine. Whew! I was totally expecting the same ole same ole who dunnit mystery and that is not what I got at all. I truly enjoyed reading this fast paced mystery suspense that kept me turning the pages while on the edge of my seat. I had to know what was going to happen next. This is a fairly new author to me but I’m a fan already . This is a story about Lauren she moved and left her old life behind and found a job at the courthouse as a Stenographer. All was good until the judge is found murdered and Lauren is the number one suspect. She decides to try and solve the mystery of who did it but things get complicated. This is where I glued and couldn’t put it down. Can she figure it all out? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. You won’t be disappointed. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Wow wow wow wow wow!! To say I was enthralled from the first page would be an understatement. I was immediately drawn in and plunged head first into this tale. I loved the way the author set the stage for the plot and how the main character moved through the story. I kept trying to guess what was going to happen next. Just loved it. Looking for a fantastic crime thriller?? You HAVE to read this!
