Kingdom of Embers: Extended Finale (Kingdom Journals Book 1) by Tricia Copeland is a magical and captivating YA paranormal fantasy. In true Tricia style her narrative takes you to the heart of the story through your imagination. It is rich in detail and lets your imagination make it into its own realisation. There is so much that makes this a wonderful yet complex story with all the right ingredients such as magic and mystery. Witches and vampires. The danger and drama are palpable, and the suspense keeps you wanting to skim each page to find out what is in store.

The Boss Prince: a royal romance with humour and suspense, is book one in the It’s Raining Royals series by Alix Nichols. This new to me author had a very easy and well laid out writing style, which was funny, light and a fantastic romantic comedy. Her characters were a delight to read about and the escapades were cleverly set and brilliantly delivered. Steamy rendezvous and laugh until it hurts humour is in abundance in this story. It was just a really light read that was a thrill a minute. A tantalising beginning to a series I know that I will easily escape into. 4 stars.

Rowan Pendragon and her cousin Davin have found themselves in a bit of a sticky situation, as usual, they have been caught trying to smuggle a few bottles of vodka from the neighbouring realm of Socaria into their homeland of Lochlann after their only way back was blocked and they resorted to travelling through a tunnel for days with nothing but the vodka, only to wake up in a Socarian dungeon. As they slowly wake up and come to the realisation that their predicament is worse than just waking up with a hangover, their captor comes to inform them of the crimes they have permitted and the sentence that they carry, the penalty of death, however, when Rowan reveals their identities, they are moved into more suitable accommodation and invited to join the clan leader and his brother for dinner later on that evening.
It is during the conversation that Rowan learns that the women here are to be seen and not heard and when she agrees to have her future decided by a Summit of the Clans, she makes the case that they should be lenient with her cousin as he is her guard and not actually high in the ranking of their society, they agree, but on the principle that she behaves like a proper Socarian princess would. The only point which rankles Rowan is that she will not be able to create and read a statement of reasoning for what she did and put it before the Summit herself, only a male and one of the ruling party of a Clan can do that, much to her disappointment.
As they leave for the Summit, Rowan reluctantly leaves her cousin behind at the palace where they were being held, at least she knows that one of them will return to their family and tell them the truth of what happened so that they can get closure whatever the decision of the Summit may be. Davin is not in the least happy about the situation and wishes that he could go with her like always and watch her back, however, Rowan insists on it and he acquiesces in the end. As they travel, Rowan gets to know her captors and their family more, as well as the customs, rules and laws which she will have to obey on her journey, however, as she does this, something changes between her and her captor.
Will Rowan be able to face the Summit and take their decision and see it through, what will their decision be and how will it affect her and her captor, will they have to fight for a future they want, or will it become too much of a barrier to them? This is a historical romance with rivalry, hierarchical challenges and family feuds galore which will pull you along as the story progresses as you fight for their future along with them.

Ciaran Donnelley and Caitlin O’Connell are back a year after Ciaran woke up from his entombment and the pair are in Ireland to visit the archaeological dig and try to get some of Ciaran’s memory back as part of his recovery from the amnesia he is using as a cover story, however, nothing is how it used to be and Ciaran is feeling homesick, even though he is home. As they drive through the countryside, Caitlin is suggesting places to visit to try and jog his memory, but all she is really doing is annoying Ciaran who just wants to deal with his feelings and how the changes he is seeing that happened between the fifth and twentieth centuries have altered the country.

Once they get to the museum and they go and see Aodhan, they also run into a couple of colleagues of Caitlin’s who she introduces to Ciaran, he asks if they can take a closer look at he exhibit before they leave and his request is granted, but mainly only because of Catlin’s presence there. The face that Ciaran cannot spend as much time as he wanted there, frustrates him and the drive to the dig site is silent and full of tension and this lasts until they get to the rooms which have been prepared for them in the B&B where everyone is staying.
The awkwardness only lasts until the next day when Ciaran has been out for a walk in the local countryside to clear his head and look for the sacred grove the priesthood used to use for their worship and rituals, however, he instead finds some young children who live in the area who tell him about a find of their brothers, which turns out to be his dead wife’s ring. Ciaran is determined to find her and suggests looking in the lake to the dig team and the professor leading it, however, all does not go to plan and more mishaps and a mystery serial killer moving into the area lead to his carefully crafted secret is revealed, but will Ciaran be able to free his brother from his endless sleep and stop the serial killer the only way he knows how to and will he be able to find the fabled Book of Carraig in order for this to happen? This is an intense read; be sure you are ready, as it is not at all a ‘light’ read. It is definitely not something anybody can read, especially if you’re sensitive to harsh subjects. With that being said, this book is one I would highly recommend!
This is my first read by Paul DeBlassie III, and you can bet it will not be my last. DeBlassie III has written an original, intriguing, page turning, edge-of-seat sitting supernatural thriller.
DeBlassie III has a one of a kind writing style, creating extremely vivid visual pictures and characters. There is a lot happening in this book, but it is layered very well with the characters and varying storylines. This book with suck you in and not let you go until you’re finished!

We end this epic trilogy by Victoria Saccenti with Kailen and Talaith. Enraptured with book 3 from start to finish I loved every moment and was very appreciative of how the stories were all woven together. This book provided so much emotion and dramatic suspense as the characters overcome many perils to be together. Kailen is a tormented man who believes he is destined to never love again after his tragic loss of his first mate. The tragedy leaves his heart hardened and closed off until he encounters Talaith. The connection is instant, and Kailen does everything he can to fight the feeling. Talaith has an enthralling attraction to Kailen, but is dismayed by the push and pull between them. As they unite to defeat the daemon horde it brings them closer together and Kailen must determine if he can overcome his fear to have love once more. This story was beautifully written, and these 2 are by far my favorite characters.

Epic! This series has got me sitting on the edge of my seat. Andrea Matthews has created the most amazing story that paints vivid pictures. The story picks up right where the first book left off. I guess you could read without reading the first book but why would you because it was so good. Ciaran and Caitlin are going to be working together on dig, but can he continue to keep her in the dark? What will happen when the truth comes out?

This book was so good!! I love a good action adventure story and this is no exception. You met Nik, who is a high school teacher, ends up these messages from his grandfather. When Nik goes to visit his grandfather, happy as can be. But Nik’s grandfather has secrets, or are they just myths? There is a very powerful, magical coin that if it falls into the wrong hands, it could be very bad. The coin is guarded and when Nik’s grandfather names Nik as the next to guardian to protect the coin, the mystery and adventure begins. The ending….ahhh!! Cannot wait for book two to see what happens next.

The Guardian’s Legacy (Coin of Time Book 1) by Luciana Cavallaro is a gripping tale. It is steeped in ancient Greek history giving the story much more depth. Failure is not an option for Nikolaos and his duty is a heavy burden if the world is to survive. He knows nothing of the guardianship that has been passed down through generations but now he has been chosen he must follow the rules and keep the coin safe and out of the hands of evil just waiting to take for themselves. This entertaining tale starts with the action from the beginning. Luciana has given us an engaging and unique story born of mythology.

Enjoyable book! This is book 2 in the series and I would highly recommend reading the first book before diving into book 2. The story picks up about a year later….and the story between Ciaran and Caitlin. There are secrets and Ciaran is trying to remember his past and also has to come to terms of being truthful to Caitlin as Ciaran and Caitlin return to Ireland. Mystery, secrets, romance all wrapped into a good book.

I really enjoyed the partnership of Sasha and Arnaud. They were well suited and deficits in their character was often filled by the other. Sasha’s medical issues was an interesting character development which gave some depth to her fierceness as a leading lady. I also enjoy the secrecy of Mont Ever and the hunt for the keys. The details of the family his also something well done in these books. The pain the characters experiences prior to meeting one another fuels the need to work together for finding the answers they seek. The overall story itself is good and I look forward to seeing how this storyline continues to unfold.

Be aware if your sensitive with your religious beliefs and/ or spiritual beliefs this book might not be for you. The mother has done whatever she wanted to do. Then the mother wants to be so controlling of her adult son. Adult son is naïve concerning the bad things his mother does.

I love BDSM stories and this was not a disappointment. The Solitaire Club is in danger of being destroyed, but by who? Russell is in charge of keeping two women safe, Holly and Gemma. Holly’s husband is out of the country for a business trip. Gemma and her husband are getting divorced, but Russell has his own rules. He is willing to dominate her, but not have intimacy with her till the divorce is final. This is the first story in this series I have read and will be going to read the other books to get some more of the backstories of the other couples. I love the attitude and mouthiness of Gemma , I am also a bratty submissive so she calls to my heart. I really enjoyed Ivy Nelson’s writing, even though this is a BDSM story, it wasn’t all about sex. Who is trying to destroy the club? How is the enemy getting through the lines of security as easily as they are? I love stories like this that make me feel so many emotions and rushing to turn the pages to find out what is next.

Victoria Saccenti has quickly become a household favorite for me! She has constructed this uniquely intricate fantasy existence that is scintillating and vivid to the imagination. The characters are well developed and connected with each providing their own individuality to the story itself. As we meet the main character Maya she can be seen as strong, independent and loyal woman. Her life is her own, and she built her existence upon answering to no one. When she and her godmother Anna are abducted one night her life as she knows it changes dramatically. She learns that magic is real, she herself is apart of the supernatural world she always believed to be nonexistent, and that the fates have given her a very sexy Titanian mate named Soren. When Soren meets Maya in a run down bar he is staking out he knows who she is, and he vows to cherish and protect her at all costs. As they explore their newfound fate together the steamy chemistry is undeniable, but Maya must first find a way to awaken her Phoenix as well as accept Soren as her mate. With members of the supernatural and human world being murdered, and Maya herself in danger because of who she is there is much that both Maya and Soren must overcome. This story is full of suspense, mystery, romance, and dramatic twists and turns that will make this book difficult to put down.

The Cross of Ciaran transported me to the 5th century and left me waiting with baited breath for more of this story to unfold. What happens when an ancient pagan priest wakes up from his being buried alive 1500 years before? Ciarán and Caitlin never should have met but now that they have the attraction is undeniable. Will Caitlin discover his secrets? This story kept me enthralled!

I took a chance on this book after reading the synopsis. It was intriguing and made me think a little. After finishing with the book, it wasn’t my cup of tea, because it didn’t stand out from all of the other post apocalyptic books to me. Don’t get me wrong the story was good, the writing was excellent but it left with too many questions and not enough answers for me. I’m going to give book 2 a chance to see if it answers any of those questions. Overall, the book was good and I did enjoy the world that was set up, and it would be a great book for someone else, just not myself.

Wow! This is a very fast-paced, exciting adventure with constant plot twists, and new obstacles to overcome. Affable teacher Nik Zosimos falls into his destiny after a visit with his Papou. This book drops you headlong into the past, and provides so much detail it feels as if you’re right beside Nik as he figures out what this new role and life are all about. I definitely felt right at home in this story, and the outside world faded away as I raced around in this adventure. Definitely give it a shot!
I read this book after giving into peer pressure. I had to see what this book everyone was raving about. I’m sure glad I did. I love this firey princess named Rowan. She reminds me so much of my favorite Disney princess named Merida. Rowan has this strength about her that most heroines don’t start out with. She breaks down those walls like they’re nothing. She knows she doesn’t need protecting and when it comes to Theo, she realizes that she wants it, not out of necessity, but because she geninuinly wants it. Without giving too much away, if you are on the fence about this book like I was, you will not regret reading it. I know I didn’t. I’m waiting impatiently for the 2nd book to come out soon, and time isn’t going fast enough! I can’t wait to see what’s in store next for my favorite badass warrior princess!

Great novel set in a dystopian world, where democracy as we know it has fallen, and the powerful UNR organization controls everything and everyone. Hunter is a brave ex-soldier, heading the Resistance to the UNR, and puts his life in peril constantly to pursue what he feels is right. Upon meeting Rain, the pair cannot fight the chemistry between them, and although they fight for different sides, they are drawn to each other. I loved how frank the writing is, and how it seems at times to be making a tongue-in-cheek witticism, smiling knowingly at the reader. The characters of Hunter and Rain are intriguing, and their romance is great. Loved it!

This is a very unique tale of loss, sadness, and the search for a life worth living. Mercy is surrounded with women who feel the ache of rejection and the echo of those who have left or been taken. After losing her dearest friend, she knows that she needs to fight for herself, and the future of who she might become. DeBlassie’s writing draws you in to the story, and her words curl around you until you feel immersed in Mercy’s Sueño. A good story.

I didn’t realize this was part of a series. I have no read any books prior to this one but, I may have to read the last few at some point to understand the characters better
I did like the character and the chemistry between them. The book was alittle much compared to what I usually read. I love a good Dom / Sub book but this one was much more then I like to read. Russell was married once before and every time he meets a sub, there is something missing. No one has ever been able to get him to take the next step past a scene. Will Gemma be the one to get to him and give him what he needs. I thought this book was well written and was able to hold my attention.

Born to Fight is such a great read! It was fast paced and full of action and steamy love scenes! Hunter is a soldier and that’s all he’s ever known is to fight. Rain has been alone for 2 years and is happy to stay that way. Then something happens and their worlds collide! With secrets and war all around them things get heated. I was very impressed with this book. I really enjoyed it. I took a bit for me to understand what was going on at first, but it all gets explained in the end which was really awesome. The way the world has started to be taken over and a rebellion like group to save them all, well right now just a girl at first. The way the characters really know how to fight is very well written. Then know what they ant and how to stand up for what they want. And they’ll fight for it. So enjoyed this book.

The twists and turns in this book really made this for a really good read. I really enjoyed it. It kept me on my feet wondering what was going to happen next. I loved Cady she’s such a takes no shit from no one, and really stands her ground when it comes to what she wants. It was unpredictable which really made this story so enjoyable. And the ending had me going wait what? No. I couldn’t get enough of this book.

Titanian’s Phoenix: Titanian Chronicles by Victoria Saccenti was an amazing paranormal romance that left this reader wanting more. Full of suspense, drama, action, romance and so much more Ms. Saccenti gives us so many twists and turns that you won’t want to stop reading until you find out what happens. While I love paranormal romance I was initially drawn to this book by its beautiful cover. But the cover was Not the only beautiful thing about this book the characters are simply amazing and Ms. Saccenti has not only an amazing way with words but also a beautiful and eventful plot line. But if you want to know what happens with Soren and Maya you’ll have to read Titanian’s Phoenix: Titanian Chronicles by Victoria Saccenti for yourself.
Scarlet princess is the First book in a new series taken place after the Lochlann Series. The good news is you can read this without having read the other series. Rowan is an adventurous and interesting character. She attracts danger to her like a magnet. When she gets captured by another territory because she was purchasing something from a smuggler for her sister, she finds out that there is no way home for at least six months due to the weather. She is stuck with her captures. While there she falls for him. I absolutely loved this book. I love historical/fantasy romance. I can’t wait to read the next book.

The Book of Carraig (The Cross of Ciaran Book 2) by Andrea Matthews was just as incredible as the first in this series. Ms. Matthews really knows how to draw people in with her amazing characters, her intense plot, and her incredible attention to details. Filled with secrets, truth, and an intense hunt to find the one book that could answer it all. Full of twists and turns, action, and so much more to keep us flipping the pages. I personally couldn’t put it down, but will our beloved characters find what they need before it’s too late? You’ll have to read The Book of Carraig (The Cross of Ciaran Book 2) by Andrea Matthews for yourself to find out.
