This was an absolutely fun read. I was laughing throughout the book just imagining what was happening and how someone could get themselves involved in trouble at every turn. No matter how hard she tried Sophie could not keep her nose out of this crime and it seemed that she was proving that curiosity is not always a good thing. Sophie’s character, and all of the others as well, was so fun and easy to associate with as normal everyday person and someone that I would love to hang out with, can’t wait for the next book.

A string of missing persons cases bring two people from completely different parts of the world together to try and solve this case. One is Lucianna, a Las Vegas police officer who has clairvoyant abilities. The other is Salvatore, the Overlord of the Vampire Masters. When a robbery occurs when Lucianna starts her undercover work, she’s brought deeper into the world of vampires than she could have ever anticipated. With more women going missing, it’s going to take the abilities of her new team and all the skills she possesses with her own powers to hunt down where they are. The only issue is that even with her mind on the case, she keeps getting visions of what might happen with her and Salvatore, and that’s a distraction she just can’t afford right now.
I wasn’t sure how I was going to like this with how the first couple of trappers were written but I quickly found myself falling into the story and really enjoying it. Even though Salvatore is the Overlord, I appreciated how much he relied on Lucianna to lead the search for these women and to figure out what happened by providing her with a team who all have their own special skills that played an important role throughout the story. The way the author handled the romance kept the reader wanting more and even though I wish certain could have happened quicker, the incorporation of the visions was an interesting twist. Overall I really enjoyed the book. There was a decent amount of world building with the use of the vampire historical texts and I’m interested to see how things play out in the future.

I have so many mixed feelings about this book. There were many times I could not put it down, then there were as many times I sat totally confused. I read it in 3 sittings and did think about it whenever I wasn’t reading it and couldn’t wait to get back to it. I did have a problem with the main character, I never connected to her and she had me all kinds of messed up with her change in personality, her change in her moods, and the thoughts she had throughout. I guess that’s what makes this a twisted psychological thriller. It definitely met that mark for me. I never really formed any opinion about the ending and how it would all play out so it not being really jaw dropping for me at the end wasn’t very surprising.
I did enjoy reading this story, the writing was awesome and did flow smoothly, I just felt at times like I was reading things that really didn’t matter, but then at the end realized it all did.
I do highly recommend reading this story especially if you like this genre. Just know, it will all make sense at the end.

I was pulled right into this story right from the beginning. I was ugly crying at what the Green Street Girls were going through. The author does a great job with her writing, I felt like I was right there with them.
We get to know Athena, Gwyn and Indigo. After the loss of their 4th sister each of the girls are dealing with things. Athena is the one that has suffered the biggest loss and is reeling from it. Why does everyone keep leaving her?
Tru is a professional pool player, he was taught from a very young age how to play. While at a tournament he meets Athena. Can Tru convince her to see more of him or will she stick to one night?
Wow is all I can say about these women. I loved the direction this series is going with the women and I can’t wait to read more from this series. All of the characters added a great element to the story. Be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster. Azrael is the intriguing debut novel by Matthew Huntley. I have read this story twice now and both times have left me a bit conflicted as to how I should rate and review this book. So let me just start by saying that the storyline is very compelling, with all the ingredients that I look for in a great crime thriller. With a crazed serial killer, an intriguing investigation, complex characters, dramatic developments, some danger, and a whole lot of mystery… it definitely made for an interesting and very gripping read. But there were a few issues that detracted from what would have otherwise been a stellar read- and this is where I am a bit conflicted. While I really did enjoy the story, I felt that the story (and author) were let down by grammatical and editing issues- as well as a few contradictions in the storyline. As this is Mr. Huntley’s debut novel, I really do applaud him for delivering such a gripping story and look forward to following him on his writing journey, as I imagine that with experience, Mr. Huntley’s work will become even more polished, and the issues I had with this book won’t be of concern in his future work. Well worth the read! I really am looking forward to seeing what Mr. Huntley has in store for us next!

N.D. Jackson created Bared with a focus on Athena from the Green Street Girls series.. A riveting opening with Athena promising her best friend Charlie that she would live a real-life, no matter how painful it could be. Athena successfully becomes an owner of several nightclubs throughout the world and is opening a new club in Chicago that will be hosting the World Pool-Billiards Association’s Inaugural Tour of Champions. As Athena is preparing for a press conference, Trumball “Tru” shows up early for the tournament. From the start, the two are drawn to one another and get along well in conversation. The only issue that came between them was the internal fear of trusting anyone that Athena had. Despite all of his efforts to get her to open up, Tru is left wondering why she didn’t trust him. Tru divulged all of his past and even allows Athena into his personal life with his mother but this does nothing to get her to open up. One evening, as they are approaching Athena’s home there is a man waiting. The encounter is one that changes every part of the relationship.
This is an excellently executed story that addresses’ loyalty, trust, and even racial issues are lightly touched on. Athena comes across as a tough as nails person, but her inner emotions are conflicted after losing Charlie. While she tried to prove to everyone that she continued on with life by having one night flings, skydiving, and parties in her clubs, she never really lets anyone in. Tru, while having been hurt in a past relationship, seemed to be more open and honest. If looking for a romance novel with a strong female lead, then Bared by N.D. Jackson will fit perfectly.

From the very first chapter, J.D. Spero’s Boy on Hold pulls you in! A fantastically written mystery written from several characters point of view, the author does a fantastic job at completely painting the picture. Spero dives deep into the brutal realities of mental illness, addiction and murder, showing how much each character is affected by it. I really enjoyed how well she was able to show how complex mental health can be. Boy on Hold was my first book by J.D. Spero, but it won’t be my last!

Wow, this book was phenomenal! I really enjoyed this young adult/fantasy book. Alena was a young girl when she lost per family and her home. A few years later, she becomes a member of “The Guild” and now goes by the name of “Slayer” (which I love!!). Slayer is fearless and strong, and I love her character. As she now ventures off to find a missing Increment and works for The Sacred, this is when Slayer will discover what evil is where the adventure begins.

This book was very emotional. It is beautifully written. My eyes have been opened and my mind expanded since reading this. I enjoyed this book from beginning to the end. I was instantly hooked. Ullman really made the characters realistic. I highly recommend it.

It pulls you in and makes Tru and Athena so real you feel like they could jump right off the page as you feel every emotion with them. Bared is the perfect title for this as these two literally bared their souls to each other and promised to work through past hurts and I was here for every minute of it. I look forward to reading more of this series and the other girls and seeing where life takes this group.

As a young girl on a night of terrifying fire, death, and blood Alena lost her entire family. She is luckily saved by her uncle and due to a devastating power she possesses is raised and trained in secret to become a guild member. After completing her training she sets off to complete her guild trial to become a fully fledged member. Once that is completed she is given her first official assignment. Given leave to travel to the tavern and recruit help for her journey she builds her cadre with the promise of coin upon completion. Thank goodness she didn’t decide to complete her mission alone! I love a good fantasy, young adult, or otherwise, and this one did not disappoint. I had an incredibly hard time putting this down to participate in life. Once you get into this story your are swept along and kept on the edge of your seat. I felt rather than atmosphere driven this novel is more character driven and what great characters they were, minus the one, he will deserve everything coming to him. I really enjoyed the camaraderie and friendship that developed in the group as they battled for their lives despite all of their differences. I’m really looking forward to reading more of The Forsaken.

This book is kind of like the mafia, once you are in, you are in for life! Some of the characters surprise you when you least expect it. Then, there is that thing that happens. Not the first one that leaves you breathless but the second one that leaves you completely confused.

If your looking for your next amazing read then look no further then Bared. By N.D. Jackson. This book had me captured from the very beginning and was written in such a brilliant way that it made me feel like I was dealing with the same situations that the characters where. The book is full of friendship, success, power and so much more that you can’t help but fall in love with it. The main characters are alpha females succeeding in a alpha male world and it has to be one of the most empowering stories that I have ever read. N.D. Jackson gives us a fantastic plot line, powerful characters, and so much more that I can’t wait for the next book.

When I first saw the cover for The Forsaken: Wraith by Martin Ferguson I knew I had to read it. Personally I love fantasy and this cover alone drew me right in, and the synopsis just added to the thrill of wanting to read it. While I have read a lot of fantasy novels in my lifetime but this one was one of my personal favorites, there was so much adventure, great characters, and a fantastic plot line. I was so captivated by the fine details, the journey that the main character goes on and just the overall plot of the story that I just couldn’t put it down. So if your looking for a great adventure/fantasy book this weekend then I highly recommend The Forsaken: Wraith.

This is the first book that I have read by this author. Janey has suffered a lot of loss in her life. Her parents were killed in a car accident and her sister disappeared. Or did she? Janey receives a letter in the mail from her sister that sets off a series of events. Her sister is alive and believes she has a stalker. But the letter showed up in terrible condition….when was it sent? Janey takes finding her sister seriously, she takes a leave from school and travels to Redemption, Wisconsin, the last place her sister had been. I cried for Janey and her sister. I had to read the ending twice, to really let the twist sink in. Michele PW is a great story teller and I recommend this book if you enjoy psychological thrillers.

Henry “Hen” Trout has a good life for a seven year old. Hen has an awesome big brother, Tyler, a best friend, Murphy, and is studying how to set a hedgehog trap. When Hen sees a horrifying attack on his neighbor and babysitter, Ms. Sally, his world gets turned upside down. Hen doesn’t want to believe what his memory and the evidence is telling him, that Tyler was involved, but there are just somethings that can’t be wrong.
Tyler Trout has a great mom and a fantastic little brother that he adores. Tyler also has dark feelings that he hasn’t been able to fight lately. Tyler has found two things that help with the feelings, his mom and something he shouldn’t want. Tyler’s mom isn’t an option these days as she works too many hours.
This is a slow burn. I wasn’t getting it at first. Finally, when it clicked, I couldn’t put it down. I loved the relationship between Hen and Tyler. Tyler is as protective of Hen as Hen is of Tyler. There are so many scenes throughout the book that made me glad I was alone when reading. I yelled at characters not to do what they were about to do, like when Marcella broke Derek’s heart unknowingly. I needed her to take that back so badly. Be prepared to be hooked. JD Spero creates full characters to be loved and hated in this small town. I have to know if Louis finally came home!

A uniquely beautiful piece of writing. The author’s talent in creating this world continues in book 2 of the Empire at Twilight series. I was absorbed into Uqnitum’s life and had all the feels. I wanted to throttle her for being so stubborn and prideful. The skilful presentation of the era bled of the pages and I greedily soaked up every word. Highly recommend this series.

The Forsaken: Wraith was my first book from this author. I’m not going to lie, this book was a slow start for me. In the first few chapters, I felt like there was a lot of promise but I just couldn’t find the spark I was looking for. However, I was soon drawn into the story around chapters 3-4! Martin Ferguson included so much detail into this world that I felt like I was a part of the Apprentice’s journey. The world he built gave me Game of Thrones vibes with more fantasy elements. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for more stories by this author!

Houses of Deception by Cynthia Hamilton is the sixth book in The Madeline Dawkins Series. This book can be read without reading the rest of the series, but I highly recommend reading the books in order. There are ongoing storylines throughout the series that accompany the various mysteries. Madeline and her partner Mike are back in action. There are two different crimes on the books, all while trying to balance the events business. I enjoyed this series and was excited to pick up this book in the series. I like Madeline and how she has progressed and changed as a character. She gets better in every book. Mike is an excellent contrast to Madeline and adds a different tone to the books. Together they work well. I look forward to reading more from this series and the author soon.

Wow. This book will have you trying to sort through all the pieces up until the very end, with a major surprise ending. Janey enlists the help of her friend and roommate, Bryn, in trying to solve the mystery of her missing sister who disappeared years ago without a trace after receiving a letter two month’s delayed by a postal service mishap that indicates Kelly is still alive and going by the name Ashley. Because the letter is ripped to pieces, the pair piece together enough information to determine where the letter originated. Janey’s pursuit for the truth leads to her taking the job as a nanny to three children, where Ashley last worked, and uncovering even more mysteries as she tries to uncover the truth about her sister’s original disappearance and what led to her most recent disappearing act. This kept me on the edge of my seat and puzzled through various twists and turns along the way; a real page-turner with a truly original storyline.

Wow Manda Mellet’s Avenging Devil Part:1 Satan’s Devils MC: San Diego was such a good development in the Satan’s Devils MC: San Diego was fantastic, I couldn’t put it down! As the name suggests it puts Niran’s point of view into two books which means we end on a cliff hanger here! I love a good cliffhanger because it means you get to carry over that same excitement and energy from the past read right into the text one! This book definitely has dark moments especially as we learn about Saffie’s past. I absolutely love Saffie and love her edition to the Satan’s Devils MC: San Diego family! It’s a rollercoaster to the very end ending with a bottomless drop! Loved this book!

This book was book 2 in the Satan’s Devils MC: San Diego series and it was such a good read! We get to get an in depth view from Grumbler’s and Mary’s point of view. The world building includes Mary’s daughter who is 17 who makes some risky choices. I loved that within the family of the San Diego chapter that we got to see a new depth unfurl. While there is some deep drama and dark things there was a whole bunch of cuteness too! I loved this book!

This was my first reading of Manda Mellett’s work and I am so glad I did! I loved it so much I read the next three one right after another. You learn about Lost the prez of the Satan’s Devils MC: San Diego, his current and backstory and then finding about the world Patsy and her son came from and watching how everything unfolds was such a treat. Spicy and suspenseful! A fantastic read and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good MC read!

Azrael by Matthew Huntley is a debut thriller novel that was a great read. I really enjoyed the character building in this book and the twists and turns that came along with it.
The book is set in New York state mostly taking place between Oswego and Buffalo. Levi Andrews is a retired lead officer who locked away serial killer Azrael a decade ago. Parker Williams is a young detective who has contacted Levi, now a drunk after losing so much after solving the original case, when new murders similar to the originals a decade ago have occurred and they are now wondering, have they locked away the wrong person? Or is this a copycat? Pick up a copy and find out for yourself!
If you love crime and thriller books, this book is for you. It has the twist and turns of a thriller with a police crime storyline that keeps your attention and wants you to keep reading right until the end to find out what happened! I really enjoyed this book and I hope that Matthew writes a second in the future!

Avenging Devil Part: 2 picks up right where we left off and ends with the finale to Niran and Saffie’s storyline. We get to see bumps in the road for those two and how they work past Saffie’s distrust as well getting to read Grumbler’s point of view again and get the epic conclusion this storyline deserved! I absolutely loved Reading from Niran and Saffie’s point of view. These two books were by far my favorite in the series and after reading all four of Manda Mellett’s Satan’s Devils I can’t wait to read her other past work and all future work! Absolutely loved these books!

I thoroughly enjoyed this love story by Angelique Jurd. It was so fun to watch Bailey grow as an individual and find love with Sam. I think the story is a tribute love of all kinds as it gives us hope that no matter what our little peculiarities might be we can still find someone who loves us as we are. Sam and Bailey are so good for each other and I was happy to see them connect and come together with their love. Angelique Jurd interested me and I look forward to reading more from her.

Cursed Touch, the latest in the Broderick series, follows middle brother Carter as he unexpectedly finds his mate in Vanessa Rayne, jewelry maker and business owner. Carter, blessed with the ability to heal, meets his mate when she brings her neighbour to the hospital where he is consulting in his capacity as a doctor. After saving her friend, he can’t stop thinking about her, and the fates step in to cross their paths again. The relationship is fraught with danger (obviously!) and Carter takes every step to protect her until they discover the source of the threats. Vanessa seems to be able to sense magic and magical beings unlike other humans, and the revelation of her backstory is great. Also, Renee, CAN WE PLEASE GET PETER A MATE! I love this character (leader of the Alumbra werewolf pack) and we really must see more of him. Cursed Touch follows the same narrative arc as the others in this series, so if you loved any of the other ones, you will love this one too!
