Mountains Wanted (Mountains Series #1) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Lucy Berson

Mountains Wanted (Mountains Series Book 1)Mountains Wanted by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mountains Wanted (Mountain Series Book 1) by Phoebe Alexander. I have loved every single book by this author!!!! She has easily become one of my absolute favorites.
Dr. Sarah Lynde is a sociology professor, single mom raising 2 kids and what one would call a free spirit when it come to sex. She has fun with whomever she chooses and likes to keep her options open. While giving a lecture, she sees a young, sexy guy. James McAllister, is not only hot and sexy, but he is also a military guy. He is a ROTC instructor and he has his sights on Sarah.
First meeting for coffee, which seems harmless enough, and eventually starting a friends with benefits relationship. (This is where my review gets difficult for me)
Sarah is not looking for a serious relationship and for the last few years, has “seen” multiple people at the same time. Can James be a game changer for her? Did she find love when all she was looking for was fun?
James has always wanted to get married and start a family. When he meets Sarah, is he prepared to change his direction or is Sarah just a fill in until he meets “the one”.
I am looking forward to reading Book 2 in this series to find out what is truly in store for Sarah and James. Will Fate bring them together or are they meant to just be friends?

Mountains Wanted (Mountains Series #1) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Liz Vrchota

Mountains Wanted (Mountains Series Book 1)Mountains Wanted by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I sincerely can not say enough good things about Phoebe Alexander’s novels and the way she manages to take a taboo or unfamiliar subject and spin it into the beautiful love stories that she pens. Mountains Wanted is a perfect example of that and a series that I have come to love a lot! These new covers, make you want to read the book just from them alone too. In Mountains Wanted we get the story of Dr. Sarah Lynde, a single mum of two and a professor. We also get a glimpse of her polyamory way of life that she lives with her beaus that come into play, James McAllister and others that will come into the picture as well.

I adored how this was so real and raw. I personally live a poly lifestyle so for me this book was such a close hit home. Communication is something that we are always working on, 24/7/365 it is very necessary part of the polyamorous life. You get that from reading Sara’s story and can see how things work a lot like they would in a traditional or mainstream relationship, just multiplied by the amount of people that you find your soul connected to.

One note I want to make is that this book is the beginning of a fabulous series and this story will not wrap up in Mountains Wanted. You will want to read the next book and the next I can promise you that but just a heads up because I know some like to start series all together. I can’t wait to dive in deeper in the next book, Mountains Climbed!

Sky to Sea (Crimson Sash Book 2) By Amanda Marin

5 ++++++ Stars

WOW!! I loved the first book of this series but I think this one was even better, I have become so emotionally invested in all of these people …I’m not normally a huge dystopian fan, and also not a huge YA fan, but let me tell you if taking YA and dystopian and throwing them together gives me this? Im sold. Throw in some awesome clean romance and I’m done.

Not sure how to explain this author’s style of writing except smooth and with feeling because I felt it all. I’ve even got the whole picture of their room, the park, everything described in this story I saw it clear in my mind. I was literally transported into the story. It was awesome!

Neve and Micah might just be 2 of my favorite characters ever. They were both just so sincere…I just can’t say enough about this whole book. Simply amazing! You truly have no idea what is going to happen or why from one page to another and I could not put it down!

This is a continuing storyline, although it may be possible to read this as a stand alone i do not recommend it and it’s so good you won’t be sorry reading them in order. It does not end in a holy moly throw your kindle kind of way, but does end where you feel like you wont make it till the next is released. Not sure what is in store for Neve and Micah but I know I’ll be one of the first in line to find out!!

LOVED IT!!

This is my first book by this author, I enjoyed it and will be looking for more from her. This is a well written fantasy book that took me on an adventure of romance, magic and action as well as some humor. The characters are connectable and made me feel as if I was part of the story. Lyria and Vethe have great chemistry as well as work well together. They made the story engaging and kept me reading to the last page. I highly recommend their story.

This is my first book by these two authors, I enjoyed it and the journey they took me on. I can’t wait to see more from them. This is a creative, well written story that their attention to detail made me feel as if I was right there in the story. This is a fantasy story that the main character, Cassandra is a strong young woman. She has just taken a new job as a teacher but she also works as a Dream Weaver at night. What will happen when her night job turns complicated, other Dream Weavers are missing and she is now being stalked. This is a shorter story that I read in one sitting as it kept me turning pages. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next.

5 out of 5 stars

The story The Flame and The Blade (Flame and Blade Series) by Meredith Hart is a romantic fantasy book. It is a story that includes magic, romance, and danger. It is a book that had me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. It is the story of Verthe Scarvian and Lyria Guardia. Verthe is the descendant of a man who almost destroyed humanity. He is looking for a long-lost betrothal agreement. Lyria is the woman who has been sent to help guard him on his search. Will Verthe find what he is looking for? Will Lyria be able to keep him from harm? Read this book to find out. This story has adventure and a foreboding place called the Demon Forest. It also has some steamy moments as Lyria and Verthe find the chemistry between them begin to rise. The author does a wonderful job of making it seem like you are right there with Lyria and Verthe on their journey. There is attention to detail and great world-building. Don’t miss out on a story that you won’t want to put down until the final page. I would recommend reading it. This is the first book in a series, and I look forward to finding out what happens in the next book.

The story Chasing Starlight: Cassandra’s Story (The Daughters of Night Chronicles) by Jennifer Siddoway & Matilda Reyes is a fantasy/romance book. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. I loved reading about Cassandra Williams. She is a Dream Weaver. She is intelligent, kind, and caring. She is a teacher and also may have a chance at love. She finds out from her father that other dream weavers have started to disappear. There is a creature that doesn’t want her to leave the Realm of Dreams. How much danger is Cassandra in? Will she finally find true love? Read this book to find out. Cassandra’s story is a journey that had my emotions going up and down with hers. I grew to care about her and wanted her to be happy. Her father, the Lord of Night, is a character that is mysterious and at times demanding. There are many other characters that interact with Cassandra and I enjoyed reading about them. There are others that have their own plans and agendas. Will their plans succeed? This is a book that has magic and romance. It has moments that touched my heart and others when I wondered what was going to happen next. Don’t’ miss out on a fantasy story that will keep you reading into the night to find out what happens next. I recommend reading this book.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart Is by Jacquie Biggar is a women’s fiction story woven with a little drama, romance and mystery. I have read several of Ms. Biggar’s stories now and have found that I can really count on her for a great read.
This is all about family, betrayal, past pain, life lessons, and making peace with it all. The characters are interesting, well-crafted individuals who pulled me into the story and had me investing in them and in how everything would play out. They were so realistic and very believable- making this story quite relatable. It was so easy to connect with them and follow along for the ride.
Looking forward to more from Ms. Biggar.

Thank you, Jacquie Biggar!

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn is a wonderfully written story that I found myself lost in the pages and couldn’t stop reading till the end. I absolutely love second chance romance especially if there’s a Rockstar involved somehow. Emmy and Alex ,she fell in love at sixteen with a Rockstar but he easily moves on to the next tour. Several years later she has one man wanting her and another who is standing in the way. What will happen when someone from the past reenters his life but they have no memory? Can these two have a future together? There were moments when my emotions were all over the place and other moments where I was laughing. Find out what happens next in this must read.

Sky to Sea by Amanda Marin is the second book in her Crimson Sash series. This is a YA fantasy series that includes sci-fi, drama, action and adventure. I was unsure about this book but gave it a chance after reading the synopsis and I can honestly say I am glad I took the chance. This book is about Neve Hall and Micah Ward who are trying to prove themselves to gain citizenship in the New Republic. Will they gain the citizenship? What does the future hold for them? The story is written great as are the characters and I recommend reading this series in orders.

OMG this author is amazing! She makes me really *feel* the emotions of these two. I am totally involved in their plight! I want them to have a hoppy ending. Just not sure that is going to happen. So every time it goes south for them…my heart plummets I am scouring my mind to see what can be fixed or changed so that doesn’t happen. Then everything just seems to go right and my heart soars! Happiness! But inevitably down… down we go again.

If you can’t tell I really empathize with these characters. The writing is so smooth I can’t believe how easy I get caught up into this story. The characters draw me in and really don’t let go. I think about them even when I’m not reading. I love these two!

THE RUNAROUND: A Single Dad Romantic Comedy (CAROLINA CONNECTIONS BOOK 6) By SYLVIE STEWART – Review by Liz Vrchota

The Runaround (Carolina Connections #6)The Runaround by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Yes, yes, yes!! I won’t lie I live for Sylvie Stewart’s spicy romantic comedies, especially her Carolina Connections series. The RUNAROUND is the sixth book in this series and believe it or not, they just keep getting better and better. I believe that with these you could read them out of order or one, but being so good why not dive in from the beginning and follow some wonderful new friends as they navigate this messy thing called life.

In THE RUNAROUND we have the story of Ari and Jax, both strong and witty characters, and the adventure that is their lives to devour. I loved how this book took what is sometimes a typical romance trope and beefed it up so to speak. This made things so much more believable and realistic, almost feeling as if I was reading a real life story and right there with the characters. I won’t give much more details than what is already given to us in the blurb because I can’t bear to spoil this book for you, but I can promise you won’t be disappointed that you read it! I can’t wait to see what we will get next from the ever so talented Sylvie Stewart!

Taming Zane (Almost Perfect Series Book 2)Taming Zane by Lisa Lanay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Taming Zane is the 2nd book in the Almost Perfect Series by Lisa Lanay. Characters from the first book Loving Jake appear in this book but both books can be read as a stand-alone. As they are such awesome books, I would recommend reading both and if you are you going to read both well, you may as well read them on order lol.
In Taming Zane, handsome plastic surgeon meets gorgeous professor Shannon McGregor on a flight home. She is on a trip to San Francisco to have an interview at the university. When Shannon loses her purse Zane becomes her knight in shining armour and lets her stay in his apartment.
I really enjoyed reading Shannon and Zane’s journey. Their chemistry is amazing but while she wants a relationship, Zane is the eternal bachelor. This book is funny and sweet mostly but then there are times that you want to bang the 2 main character’s heads together and tell them to get their act together.
There are also some really great secondary characters including Shannon’s brothers. Surely there’s a book or 2, or 3 among them. As well as these new characters, I loved getting to see Jake and Kimberly again from the first book.
I look forward to see what Lisa Lanay brings with the rest of this series. I for one, will definitely be reading whatever she produces.

Landing the Lawman (Hills of Texas, #5)Landing the Lawman by Kadie Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Landing the Lawman is the fifth book in the Hills of Texas series from Kadie Scott. If you’d like to start here and haven’t read the others that should still be possible as there is enough background info that carries through all of the novels.

In this one we get the story of the only Hill daughter, Carter, and the handsome lawyer Logan. Carter would like to find the one one day but in the meantime as she recovers from a heartbreak she swears to focus on the career that ignites her passion in other ways. She meets and works with Logan and eventually the two begin to feel a tad more than friendly feelings between them. Will the twists and turns (there are several good ones) be derimental to these two ever getting a chance at love with each other? I enjoyed this and thought it was a light hearted quick read, perfect for a Monday morning! I look forward to seeing what we will get next from Kadie Scott.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Sun So Bright, (Reigning Hearts Book 3) By K.G.Fletcher
4 of 5 Stars
A Sun So Bright by K.G.Fletcher is book 3 in her Reigning Hearts series but can be read as a stand-alone story. When socialite and heiress Fiona Merrill finds herself alone without a date on New Year’s Eve she decides to takes matters into her own hands. Set in New York, Fiona propositions Chris Ballard a bartender who is living with his mother whilst saving money to finish renovating his crumbling farmhouse. Being offered a large sum of money and being able to make some ‘quick cash’ Chris accepts Fiona’s offer. However although the pair find posing as the next Manhattan power couple easy, their relationship becomes blurred when Chris dares Fiona to explore life outside of her normal ‘pampered life style’. “Is it possible for the heiress to change her ways and discover a bigger purpose”?
I loved this book and enjoyed how the relationship between Chris and Fiona developed the longer they spent together in their fake relationship. It wasn’t predictable as some romances can be and the storyline had me turning the pages well into the night. I am now keen to read the other books in Fletcher’s Reigning Hearts series.

Ink’s Devil:Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) Book 5
By Manda Mellett
4 of 5 Stars
I am a fan of MC romance books and really enjoyed this one by Manda Mellett. Ink is a member of the Satan’s Devils MC, based in Colorado, he’s a typical good time biker not looking for a long term relationship. That is until he meets, Beth, the girl with blue hair and who is almost as tall as he is. Beth is not part of the biker world and leads an ‘ordinary’ life but is drawn to Ink when they meet at a wedding. They both plan on having one night together but fate had other plans. When Beth gets into trouble due to her estranged brother it is Ink who comes to her rescue and takes the fall for her. Beth doesn’t understand why he sacrificed himself for her but she feels guilty as it looks as though Ink will get a thirty year sentence.
The storyline had me hooked from the first page and I liked Ink and Beth as characters and how their relationship developed throughout the book. Although it works well as a stand-alone book, I did get a bit confused in the beginning with all the different names mentioned especially those of the MC as they have ‘real’ names and ‘road names’, obviously these characters had been introduced in previous books. However I soon got to know the characters and got swept along in the exciting story. The book was written from both Ink and Beth’s point of view along with Satan’s Devils Enforcer Mace, and this works well giving each character a voice.
I am now keen to read the previous books in this series and look forward to future books about the Satan’s Devils.

Landing the Lawman (Hills of Texas, #5)Landing the Lawman by Kadie Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Landing the Lawman by Kadie Scott is the fifth book in the Hills of Texas series. This book can be read as a stand-alone although personally I think all these books are worth reading.
As usual when I picked up this book I found myself reading a sweet and heartwarming story. This book is about the final Hill sibling, Carter, a character that I definitely loved. Her connection with Logan is lovely to read about. They have such a believable chemistry that made the book even better.
The story was a well written one, developed well with a great pace to it. I easily found myself lost in the story and it was such a fun read.
I have loved this series from the start and, although I am sad to see it end, I am please with how the author tied it all up. This definitely worth a read and one I will certainly go back to in the future.

The Runaround: A Single Dad Romantic Comedy by Sylvie Stewart is the sixth book in the Carolina Connections series. This is a fun, romantic series and this installment did not let me down. The series can be read as a standalone, but I think better enjoyed as a series. This time around the story focuses on Jax, a single dad to a teenage daughter and Ari, a seductive songstress. I always enjoy the dialogue in this series and this one is great also. I also enjoy the lightheartedness of the series. This is always a little get away to read a Sylvie Stewart book.

A Sun So Bright is the third book in the Reigning Hearts series by K.G. Fletcher. The two main characters couldn’t be more different from each other when we first meet them. Fiona is a billionaire heiress who seems stuck up and too good for anyone, but all the loss she has experienced may be the reason for her behavior. Then Chris, the bartender who’s path crosses again with Fiona, seems to be the exact opposite. A family man, who has experienced loss as well, is hard working and down to Earth. When Fiona propositions Chris with a crazy offer where he could make some quick cash, how could he say no? Chris truly challenges Fiona as their relationship grows.

When I first started this book I was not a fan of Fiona and I think the author does a wonderful job portraying her social status. Then I couldn’t help but fall in love with Chris and all his charm. The author couldn’t pick two more opposite characters to start a “relationship” together and I was so against it. But as the story progressed I enjoyed seeing how they began to compliment each other. It seems Chris is exactly what Fiona needs, but will she stop being stubborn enough to let it happen?

A Sun So Bright (Reigning Hearts, #3)A Sun So Bright by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the third Book in this series and I liked it just as much as i liked the first two books. I was pulled in from page one and I didn’t want to put this Book down. This author writing is good and I feel like every book that I read the better it gets. The characters are what made this book amazing for me because I felt like I was apart of their story and I was rooting for them to get their happy ending. I am looking forward to reading more by this author. Happy reading!
