What do you do when you run a candy factory and a little girl helps herself to the candy? Mr. Bonbon has got to come up with an idea to stop Annabelle from taking his candy. Now Annabelle is in a sticky predicament, can she escape or will she get into more trouble. The author gives a great lesson to be learned and a fun story to read. The children will love this story and the pictures as well. The story is easy to read and fast paced. My grandchildren loved this story, just as much as I did. I am in awe of this author and her storytelling talents. We are all looking forward to her next book.
Kris & The Missing Prince (The Adventures of Kris) by Art Blegen. Kris is a young girl raised by her single dad. When he goes on a business trip she gets sent to spend some time with her grandmother on a farm. Kris is not a girly girl and her dream is to be a Prince so when she meets all kinds of new friends at the farm and one of her new friends is missing they decide to go on a search. Along the way they meet new friends and learn how to work together to get things accomplished. They also learn that kindness is the only way to be. Kris ends up having the best time. Such a fun read and great for families. This is a chapter book so its great for new readers!

Amese of Animalis (The Borosa Legacy Book 1) by MJ Murray. This is the first book of the Borosa Legacy Series and its about Amese who bears the birthmark of Borosa. Amese who is 13 is about to begin her training to fulfill her destiny as a ruler. Amese is so independent and strong but she does have insecurities as well. She has this dark feeling that someone does not want her to succeed. Amese has to turn into animals to fulfill her destiny and in doing so she learns so much about all kinds of animals and their cultures. Will she be able to conquer her fears and become all that she is destined to be? This book is aimed at kids 11-13 and is such a fun, imaginative read. I recommend this book for all kids in this age group.

I jumped right in on this new to me author with her box set of 4 different stories. The stories were all different which I enjoyed, made for a very good box set. Fell in love with the characters and in hate with others. They were very relatable and well rounded. I will recommend this author and will suggest this box set to anyone that is looking for a new author to get hooked on. I will be reading all her other work for sure.
Will You Pretend Marry Me by Christi Barth. This is such a fun contemporary romance. This is the story of Abigail who has always felt like a nobody. Her parents didn’t even want her. While in high school in Maine she finds herself with a secret identity as a famous very talented singer, Kaia. She is beginning to think she might be able to be somebody and just be a normal teacher. She decides to go with teaching and when she meets the principal Everett she decides she may have made the wrong choice. They instantly dislike each other. Everett struggles enough with his job as Principal/teacher to deal with a prima donna pop star. The more they work together, the more feelings get involved. Everett doesn’t really want a relationship because he knows they only end in heartbreak. He sure doesn’t want one with a pop star that he has to hide her identity. Will they be able to see past the “stuff” and make a relationship work or will Abigail be overlooked once again?

This is the first book from The Borosa Legacy. Amese is just 13 years old and is to become the next potentate. But she’s not confident in herself or her abilities. She hasn’t even figured out what her magic is. But something is happening and she needs to start her training. Grab this book and come along on her adventures. This is targeted for 10-14 year olds but I think it can be enjoyed by the young at heart as well. Very well written story and I can’t wait for the next book.

Meal Time at the Zoo: PB&J Café is a super cute and fun rhyming story that follows James the monkey as he serves up PB&J sandwiches made to order for the different Zoo animals. The illustrations were very bright and colorful and made the story come to life. My son loved this book so much he decided to serve his animals pb&j sandwiches as well. This is a new author to my son and I but we are definitely fans. My son and I highly recommend reading this cute story .

Book 1 finds Sarah and Rafe Halliday being brought back together after a quick courting, misunderstanding and separation. After fleeing on their wedding night, Sarah hears that Rafe is having trouble with the rumors in town since she left. She felt obligated after he saved her, to say nothing about the fact that she actually had feelings for her husband. After making a plan to return for a set period of time, she finds herself thrown back together with the man that captured her heart after he saved her. As she finds that Rafe is trying to find ways to keep his ranch alive and becomes more invested in keeping it going, the more danger they encounter. Will they be able to survive the games they are putting each other through?
Book 2 – After finding her handpicked-by-her-father fiance in a very compromising position right before their wedding, Samantha does the only thing she can think to do, and flees to her family’s cabin to lick her wounds. After being treated very poorly and then threatened by a detective, she decides to hire a PI. As Serena and her PI find their way into a party at the home of the head of the mob, they peel off and search the upstairs. After finding her way through most of her assigned rooms, she opens the final door to witness her PI being murdered and thrown over the balcony. As she runs to the beach to find him, she is confronted by the detective and saved at the last minute by FBI agent Mark Riley. The agent is very bristly and very uninterested in her feelings about the case. When she finds he has collected her son, Sammy and brought them to a safehouse, she realizes just how serious the situation is. As she and Mark continue to agitate one another, it becomes obvious that they are both avoiding a mutual attraction. When they are forced together into even more of protective custody, they begin to explore the attraction. As the case ramps up and approaches an end, will they find her father? Will they find the rest of their lives with one another?

Once he is released, he decides to stay in Emerald Hollow and stay at Ash’s hotel until he can discover who he is and his memories return, so Sofia decides to spend her lunch breaks with him in the library while he works at the hotel. Meanwhile, Holly and Ash continue their romance and making Emerald Hollow a magical place, but something is happening, and she isn’t sure exactly what it is, so she asks some of the other residents of the North Pole what it could be?
As Sofia and Isiah spend more time together in the library, occasionally eating together and going on a trip out of town which Sofia won in a charity raffle, they cannot deny the attraction between them, but will Sofia be able to accept that maybe magic is real and let herself escape the trauma which has a hold over her, will Isiah be able to retrieve his memories and can Holly uncover this new mystery? This is another magical, cozy mystery set in a small town where anything is possible and life can be unpredictable, but in the best possible way.
Laramee heads for the home she ran away from years ago when she finds out her parents are both not doing very well and are considering selling their ranch. Laramee doesn’t want to give up the ranch because it holds so many memories for her, but some of those memories are also not good. She ran from the ranch due to a tragedy in the family and holds onto a lot of guilt from things, and also has a strained relationship with her father. When she arrives back home she finds Jamie who has been hired by her father to sort out how much the property is worth. At first she wants him gone but when she gets to know him they become friends and gain an understanding of each other’s pasts. To add to her stress, her ex fiance finds out she’s back home and is trying to get her back. Jamie helps to fix up the land but ultimately determines there’s only one way to save it, and it’s the one thing Laramee didn’t want to give up. Laramee must decide if she wants to keep holding onto the ranch or let it go, while also battling her growing feelings for Jamie. This was a good clean western romance.

The School of Nine is the first book in The Mythic Academy Collection series by Amanda Marin. This is a captivating YA fantasy with a magical academy/finishing school setting, Muses, sinister foes, drama, danger, high stakes, agendas, prophecy, legends/myths, good vs evil, family, duty/responsibility, friendship, journey of discovery, self-discovery, action, adventure, secrets, and a touch of sweet (clean) romance. This isn’t the first book that I have read by Ms. Marin, and having loved her previous books, I was excited to start on a new series from her. I loved the premise, the whole ‘Mystic Academy’ aspect had me hooked before I’d even read a word. But then the first few pages certainly ‘sealed the deal’ for me. Bianca Harper is a Muse who can trace her heritage back to one of the original nine Muses, and with that legacy comes the heavy weight of responsibility. She feels the weight of expectations on her shoulders – and she really isn’t sure she has what it takes to live up to those high expectations. She and her fellow classmates at Brightling Academy are learning everything a good Muse must know in order to ‘inspire’ all the artistic, musical, and creative ideas, which in turn then spreads goodwill and hope throughout all of humanity. But strange things have started happening, with an ancient prophecy coming to pass, and someone seems all too eager to speed those things along… And on top of that, Bianca and her friends discover that the well of creativity is running dry. Now they must find a way to help replenish the well, to stop the prophecy from completing, before it’s all too late. The very fate of humanity is riding on outcome. A Song of Salt and Secrets is the second book in The Mythic Academy Collection series by Amanda Marin. This is another enchanting YA fantasy with a magical academy setting, Sirens, curses, magic, drama, danger, high stakes, agendas, myths, a touch of sweet (clean) romance, friendship, a journey of discovery, action, adventure, secrets, an ancient goddess with a grudge, fun, fairytale vibes (Little Mermaid-type story), a touch of fate, and emotion. I loved the first book in the series, and the whole ‘Mystic Academy’ aspect – so there was never any question that I would be diving into this book as soon as it hit my Kindle. Even though this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone if you wanted, as each instalment focuses on its own particular character/s- the common theme being the ‘Mystical Academy’- although different academies. Magwitch Academy is where Sirens have been going for generations to learn to control their ‘deadly’ curse. But what happens if a siren unintentionally causes a nautical accident- her ‘victim’ driving his boat onto the rocks where she had been singing her song? Mealtime at the Zoo, What a fun, adorable book perfect for your little ones. My granddaughter who is 3 absolutely loved this book and all the animals. we giggled and laughed that they all got sandwiches. The illustrations are fantastic, seeing pics of all the animals made it fun to think of the noises they might make and what kind of sandwiches they might be having. Definitely a keeper, I am sure we will be reading this book alot.

Finding Cheer by Heather Schneider is the second book of the Magical Emerald Hallow series. This is definitely one to read in order. This book mainly follows Sofia as the magic in and around Emerald Hallow brings on a delightful, bountiful early Spring. Sofia finds a man down in the snowy woods with no identifiers and no memory and thus begins her life-changing journey to help him. Isaiah and Sofia are just as cute a couple as Holly and Ash from book 1. This cozy romance is refreshingly clean while also staying exciting.
Finding Cheer by Heather Schneider is the sequel in the Magical Emerald Hollow Series. When I first picked the book up, I did not know it was a sequel. It can be read as a stand alone but I will be going back to read the first one. This is such a cute and cozy story that absolutely fit the bill for the spring vibes I was looking for. If you like Small Town romance and magical realism definitely pick this one up. Perfect spring read 4 out of 5 stars!

Wow! This book truly surprised me. I have never read a book that was written by ten authors. I honestly didn’t think I would enjoy it. I really enjoyed Touched. The book was full of action, adventure, and romance. If you love reading paranormal romance books, I recommend you checking this one out. The detailing was good. The world building and characters was well thought of.

Oh man! This book was so fun, so total transparency, I have not read the previous book in this series, but rest assured after getting a few chapters in I, to my complete delight discovered this book could in fact be read alone. And I’m so glad it could, this was my first hockey rom com and it felt soooo good! I’m so excited to dive into this series more and into this genre more.
The chemistry between the two main characters was absolutely palpable, tension so thick you could cut it with a butter knife. Let’s start of with Kaitlyn with a K, I was a bit worried she was going to be a soulless, work to live live to work type, but I was so happy to get to know the girl underneath her stone cold facade. And I fully squealed when she got her HEA.
Now Ben, or should I set Bennett, oh boy, I think I’ve loved him since the moment i read him penned on those pages. His sense of humor and general nonchalance is weirdly endearing. I loved his character arc, and his final admirable to his feelings, his character blossomed SO hard in this book. And it was everything i needed.
So throw these two interesting characters together in a force proximity/reluctance situation and you get pure magic. Add a splash of hockey, the love of the game, rivalry, heavy atmosphere, and it’s complete as one of the best rom com’s I’ve read in a good while.

I had so much fun reading this book. Everett and Abigail are such great fun to read about with beautiful hearts these characters draw you in and keep you turning page after page. They are in many ways very different and truly put the saying opposites attract to the test but in their hearts is where they truly connect. I loved the small town setting, the storyline and of course the wonderful characters. I didn’t realise until after I had read this book that it is part of a series and given how much I obviously loved this book, you can tell having not read the other books definitely did not hinder my reading experience. I will be finding the rest of the series though for sure and reading those now.

This book was a great addition to the series and I was really excited to get back into it. For me, this book was even better than the first and I really enjoyed the story the author has created. I loved that this book was centered on a siren, which is again not a typical main character. It added a new element to a book that was well written and a great read from the start. The characters in this book were just as engaging as the previous and I wanted to know more about them too. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to what this author produces next.

This book is a well written and interesting fantasy story that is about a school for muses. This isn’t something I have seen as a subject matter for a book before so it caught my attention right from the start. For me, this book was all about the characters. I connected with them instantly and wanted to know more about them and their story. Overall, this is quite a short story and I think it would have definitely benefited from being a longer book. However, that did not detract from my enjoyment of the story and it definitely has me looking forward to book two. I cannot wait to see what is to come next.

Where oh where do I start with this book I just absolutely LOVED it! Banks and Kaitlyn are just such wonderfully written, relatable and fun characters that you just want to see them have a happy ending. The storyline definitely draws you in to their lives and the great banter will not only give you a laugh but will keep you turning page after page. I can’t wait to see what’s next in this fabulous series!!!

This is an emotional book about a young boy, Loris, who is in foster care and the struggles he faces as he learns to accept his new family. This would be an excellent resource for children going into a fostering family, as well as for the fostering families and their own children as they accept a new member to the family.

I love the Echo series by this wonderfully talented author, so having this prequel to read and learn more about the lives of other characters was fantastic! This is a cute chapter book for young readers. The illustrations are cute, and simple enough that they don’t distract from the story. I read this to my 4 yr old nephew and he enjoyed it, but it would be great for new readers, or even experienced reader who might just enjoy a cute story. I recommend this for classrooms. It would be great to read along with as a class.

This book is so fun, festive, and easy-to-read that it took me no time at all to inhale it! This is the second book in the Magical Emerald Hollow series. I did not read the first book going into this one, but it did not make reading this one unenjoyable. I will be reading the first one soon, and I cannot wait to see how knowing the whole story will flesh-out other details for this one. This story is about the romance of Sofia and Isaiah, and it is written in a way that makes it cute and wholesome. Don’t get me wrong, I love a steamy romance, but sometimes it’s refreshing to fall into a sweet one. I highly recommend and hope for a third installment!
