Grave Digger Academy I is a short tale about Makayla. She gets sent to the Grave Digger Academy, which just happens to be the last choice that students have. It turns out that she may have unexpected powers that tie back to her family tree. The book has magic, humor, and is easy to read. I felt a touch of Harry Potter due to the magical school setting for young witches. I would recommend it for those in middle school but can be enjoyed if you’re older as well! I look forward to reading the next installment.

Milo has had a crush on Benji for year’s but he has never really tried to push the attraction but when his brother died all that vanished, Benji vanished from my life and he lost two brothers not just Kellan, but now he is back in town and this is now the chance to pursue his crush and see if the conversation he heard long ago between Kellan and Benji is still there.
When Benji and Milo meet the chemistry between them is off the charts but can Benji bury the promise he made long ago to Kellan or will he purse happiness with Milo in the end?
This book was just delightful to read, although it may have triggers for some people the words on the page added to the overall feel of the book rather than a shock factor. I loved the calm nature of Milo and that he was determined to show Benji that there relationship can go on and that they were suited to each other. Benji’s character was flawed in just the right way and what I mean is that he was not inheritably a bad boy but circumstances portraited him as that but once you got to the heart of the character he was a brilliant half to Milo.
The story was heart felt and pursued the regrets of each of the characters regarding the death of a friend, son and brother with them each showing the guilt they carried regarding the death of Kellan. I really enjoyed this book and would definitely read more by this author.

This was another hit with my niece and nephews; Wickstrom is one of their favorite others. They love the invisible wand series and can’t ever wait to see what new adventure Caspian is going to have on his unbirthday. I would recommend this book to others; it’s well written and illustrated.

Marcel Liemant’s Doombringer follows trans male lead, Oden, his daughter, Penny, his best friend, Tinnor, and Tinnor’s partner, Ivan, as well as side characters, Magdela the Wise, and the non-binary character Kimri. Their village, Shard Moure, has been and continues to be attacked, and most of the villagers want to leave, but Oden wants to fight for their home. I really like the premise of this story, an LGBTQ+ fantasy novel with an unexpected hero. But I found that the story moved quite slowly. The whole thing takes place over a couple of days, and then follows a time jump at the very end. There’s a lot of action and internal dialogue but not much external dialogue. And the story doesn’t really start until the last 30% of the book. My favourite character was the lead, Oden, although you don’t really get to know the other characters well enough. My least favourite characters were the Mages. I recommend this book if you are interested in getting into the queer fantasy genre. ‘Oden was running out of time on this earthly plane and he still had so much left to do.’

Shadowed Agenda is the second book in the Shadow Defense Security series by Mavery Ellscott. It is another engrossing romantic suspense to follow on from Shadowed Obsession, the first book in SDS. This series is made up of standalone stories, each one focusing on a different operative of the Shadow Defense Security team. This time we get Pavlov Barislov’s story. We met him in Book #1 and I was immediately intrigued by the former Navy SEAL turned security operative who is also an author of thrilling novels. So I was excited to be able to get to know him better here. And WOW, what a story we got. Ms. Ellscott certainly put her characters to the test, and delivered a gripping read along the way. As I mentioned above, this is a romantic suspense, but it also has a bit of an enemies to lovers dynamic, danger, dramatic developments, tension, chemistry, agendas, action, and mystery – all the ingredients needed to keep me invested the whole way through. Renewed is the sixth book in the Fateful Justice series by Sara Vinduska. I think the cover of this book threw me off a little, as it gave me the impression of a sweet, Hallmark-esque romance- which would have been great – but what it delivered was so much more. And I mean that as a good thing. I probably should have read the blurb, but sometimes I just like to choose by the cover and see if the story meets my expectations. It is an engrossing romantic suspense with a bit of a forced proximity element, sexy cowboy, drama, adventure, intrigue, a little mystery, secrets, action, and tension. Ruby has left city life hoping for a fresh start away from her past. But things don’t live up to expectation when she ends up saving a sexy cowboy who’s bleeding out from a gunshot wound. Yeah, so much for the quiet county life. Things heat up pretty quickly, but when her past comes back to haunt her, Hayden steps in to help her. What happens? It’s a bit of a dark fantasy adventure with magic, challenges, a curse, emotion, good vs evil, an epic quest, high stakes, friendship, redemption, courage, and hope. This book is all about the meaning of Christmas. Rusty is an incredible boy that wants to save money to buy Christmas presents for his family so is doing things like shoveling snow from his neighbor’s driveway. Rusty loved the carousel but it’s not open because its wintertime. So, finding a toy one that he can use, rusty goes on some amazing adventures and takes rides on every animal with a different message about Christmas. This book was very well written and made you feel like you were going on this adventure and rides along with rusty. The story has a wonderful feel and creates wonderful imagines and a story in your head. Its such a great story highly recommend.

After reading a couple other books by this author. I just had to pick up this one also, I always really enjoy reading Terri Sabol stories. The lessons she writes about help people of all ages, from pet loss, feeling envious, to this book where it’s about never giving up 🥰. It is about trying and failing, then picking yourself up and trying again, Trying different ways until you find the best solution for you. You know I just have to try that recipe at the end 🤣😍

This book woke me up at 2:30 am to finish it and I have a hard time saying no to books when they call out to me, especially in the middle of the night.
I fell in love with Elijah and Austin from the very beginning, by the end of the book I was even deeper with them. They both overcame so much pain in their lives. They carry the scars and are the people they are because of those struggles.
There were some incredibly hot moments, but the romance was definitely in the forefront. I wish all friends and family were as accepting as the people in this book.
There is some drama and angst but I feel it was necessary and made their story that much sweeter in the end.
Ms. Lauren is a new to me author and I’m so glad I found her. Definitely keeping my eyes out for additional books by her in the future.

Another great story! I loved it more than the first one. Rusty is such a great kid. His character is so relatable. He’s struggling with his grandpa having Alzheimer’s, his father losing his job and understanding the true meaning of Christmas. I think the author did an amazing job tying in the religious traditions of Christmas with the secular traditions of Christmas. It was well written. My adult self teared up at some of the adventures Rusty experienced. It was heartwarming, meaningful and a great reminder of what’s important. I cannot wait to read this to my little one. Oh and the glossary and explanations at the end is great for kids to understand topics they may not know about.

I absolutely loved this book, start to finish. Watching Milo and Benji heal together from Kellen’s passing as well as their family struggles made my heart ache in some spots, but it was beautiful. The growth they had in this book was well done, and all around the book was a very well written and well developed story. Highly recommend!

This was an emotional 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning. This story addresses many things: betrayal, abuse, and so much more. The main character was working on getting past her trauma. She is a strong character that had a good support as well in her friends. With a twist she finds herself dealing yet again with a traumatic experience. Ekon was perfect for Tina, I feel like he was sent to her at the right time. Overall this was a great story. The author does a great job with her writing. I felt every emotion while reading. I definitely recommend reading this book. I look forward to reading more from her. 1-click and get started today.

I am a total fan of this series!! I love the writing style, the humor (and this one…well, just read it!), the suspense, the drama….it’s all in here! I think this is my favorite book of the series so far but they are all really good! The tension that Lina displays, although she’s trying to be professional, just lets you know that she’s a ticking time bomb of emotions. Curtis is a rockstar that just can’t hide his vibe. While this is only the second book in this series, I have been reading about these communities and people involved in the story for a while. They are like familiar friends. The author has pulled me into this story, and I feel invested in these people’s successes, failures, and heart break. This was a tough book to read in the sense that the tragedy that happens is thoroughly heartbreaking. I couldn’t bring myself to put the book down until I knew how it played out. It is so well written, and I hated that it was over. I always enjoy how the author pulls their titles into the book, too. They always find a way to weave it in and I learn something new with each book I read. This is such a good series. I look forward to seeing what comes next!

Regan and Pavlo are both authors, yet neither wants to associate with the other on their book tour. When things start to go awry with the tour requests, Pavlo and Regan have no choice but to put their trust in each other if they have any chance of ending the chaos with minimal damage. I was immediately drawn to Pavlo because of his strong commitment to doing the right thing and Regan because of her ‘do it myself’ mentality. The characters are so likeable! Mavery Ellscott does a great job keeping the reader in suspense and constantly upping the stakes in an already high-stakes situation.
Please please check trigger warnings. Your mental wellbeing is important! Okay, let’s continue. This was a very emotional and wonderful standalone story. One that touches on many subjects! Benji and Milo made me feel so many things, I just couldn’t put it down.

As a lover of all paranormal this book hit all the spots! Tanjie was one heck of a character and I was over the moon about her very early on. Forget raining cats and dogs, Lois Wickstrom took an odd natural phenomenon, a waterspout, and made it into a fun story about raining fish and frogs! The illustrations are just as much fun as the text. My children laughed throughout the story and asked many questions afterwards. Be sure to read Raining Fish and Frogs when you have time to look for actual pictures of waterspouts, entertain questions about natural phenomena, and preform science experiments!

What a wonderfully sweet book about trying and trying again! My two kiddos are 8 and 11 so they get to hear me talk about trying quite a bit. When we picked up this book to read together, I was very excited as not only does it help teach problem solving, experimenting, and failing at times, it’s about cooking which is a loved activity in our home. These illustrations are just gorgeous and really make the kids feel like part of the story. There is an awesome recipe in the back which my kids followed, and after a couple of tries they nailed it! The inclusion of the recipe was such a big bonus in my opinion because it gives them something to physically act on what they just read. I highly recommend picking this up and sharing with the little ones in your life so they can try, try again!

I’ve read each of the previous Echo series books and I needed to read this one as well. Each book passes through one of the characters from the previous books so some of the past characters are brought into the newer stories or at least mentioned. In each book as well, there are elements of romance, suspense, mystery, new beginnings, friendships and family. Reading a new book is like getting reacquainted with a good friend! I absolutely love this series! Curtis, one of the bandmates of Canis Major and the brother of Calliope, was at the wrong place at the wrong time and witnessed something he shouldn’t have. One of his former security guards while on tour, Lina comes back in the picture after knowing of this news and in the nick of time is there to protect Curtis from possible danger. Throughout this suspenseful moving story, attraction grows stronger between Lina and Curtis as she continues to protect him however she can and hoping for love to emerge along the way.

Every single time I have brought a book home by this author, my family gets so excited! She always has the perfect formula for fun, emotional intelligence, and education that never ceases to amaze me. My kids are 8 and 11, and we loved this story! The sheer amount of imagination that flows through this household after reading any of her books (but especially this one!) is astounding. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful and add great dimension to the story. Caspian’s unbirthday is here and he’s ready to try to bake a bike with his grandpa. Will they succeed in their unbelievably fun mission, or will they need to find another way? I highly recommend picking this up and exploring all the fun nooks and crannies of your little one’s brain. I read this with my kids who are 8 and 11, and we all enjoyed it! We read the first book in the series together as well but this one held a special place in our hearts. It is obviously a perfect time of year to read it as we are moving into December now. Reading about Rusty wanting to buy a gift for Grandpa and the touching details he learns had us all quite teary-eyed. He gets to experience the true meaning of Christmas, and it is more valuable than anything that can be bought. I picked this up just to have something to read with my kiddos, but even as an adult I truly enjoyed the flow of the story and deeper meanings woven throughout as well. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to read the next in the series!

This was the first book I’d picked up by this author and I truly enjoyed it! It’s a YA dystopian that doesn’t follow the norm of its genre. Lexi is a girl after my own heart with her feisty, take-charge attitude who refuses to live a life of being married off. There is a lot of deceit in her world, and she isn’t sure who she can trust or what she’s fighting for at times. I devoured this book quickly as I needed to know what happened next. I am very excited for the next book in this series and I highly recommend picking it up before you miss out!

The Grave Digger Academy series must be read together, in order, to fully understand what is going on. The books continue to build on each other and book 3 picks up where Book 2 left off. And similar, it ends in a cliff hanging, urging the reader onto book 4. This book was a short story, and is easy to read in a day or two. It is action packed, and there is a lot going on. Makayla is back at the Grave Digger Academy, and must find new helpers. Her friends have pretty much abandoned her after the drama from book 2. While this sucks, it helps her discover her own strengths and build on them, making some new, unexpected friends along the way.

I loved this romantic suspense! It’s the fourth installment of The Echo Series and it did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the fact that our female character’s job was to protect our male character. I’ve not seen that in very many books at all, and this author pulled it off so well. Their chemistry popped off the pages so well and the steamy scenes added to the story. The drama, suspense, action, and emotional rollercoaster you’ll experience in this book is definitely worth it. While this could be read as a standalone, I feel there is a reason that it is part of a series, so starting from the beginning has its benefits. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!
