Down By the River by Tricia Gardella is a wonderful little story that fires the imagination- sparking curiosity about nature- with lovely illustrations are very cute, colourful, and engaging- which made this little adventure come to life.
The story encourages children to learn as they explore nature, rivers, and streams- while delivering environmental messages, wildlife & nature facts, explaining geography, and encouraging young explorers to be curious.
A great little read!
Highly recommended.

What a great time of the year to read this book. Midnight Falls is about werewolves, shifters, monsters, suspense, survival, evil, and a good all-around horror book. It kind of gives off the old 1980s horror vibe. The author has a descriptive way of telling the story that keeps you engaged throughout the whole book and takes you on a wild ride. I liked all of the characters, but I think my favorite character was Josh’s dog Nimrod.

Night sweats and hockey nets by Marika Ray and Sylvie Stewart, book 3 in the hot flash hookups series. This is a book that will make you swoon. We follow a single dad trying to get custody of his daughter and a widowed woman trying to start a new life. Nikolai is swoon worthy, he cherishes and dotes on Chloe. He is a big marshmallow on the inside but is tough on the outside. Chloe loves children and was a teacher before moving back home. She is the daughter of Nikolai’s coach. This book will have you kicking and screaming. I got to fall in love with not only Nikolai and Chloe, but also his daughter Ayana who is funny and gets to become best friends with Chloe. We get to watch her scheme and be a kid. I loved this book so much and would read it again and again.

Luca Magoo, Don’t Eat The Glue (Luca Magoo Series) by Megan Delgado. This is the cutest book. Its the story of Luca who loves art class and while in art class his mind begins to wander and he wonders what would happen if he actually ate the glue. Luckily for Luca his teacher steps in and tells him not to eat the glue that its bad for him. This story teaches that you can be curious but there are consequences to your actions. Such a well illustrated story with colorful pages and a cute story. My 6 year old nephew loved it and I can’t wait to read more in this cute series.

“Down By The River” is a delightful story that promotes learning and appreciation for nature and wildlife in a river setting. The charming illustrations are vibrant and truly bring the story to life, igniting young imaginations.
Embark on this exciting adventure, discovering and learning about the wonders found along the way. “Down By The River” is thoroughly enjoyable and captivating. My grandsons adored it, and now we’re planning an outing to explore a nearby river.
This wonderful picture book would be a fantastic addition to any library, home, school, or as a thoughtful gift.

I was so excited for another book in this series! This book follows Nico, the goalie for the hockey team, who is in a custody battle to get to see his daughter. Chloe is a widow and used to be a 3rd grade teacher but she is moving back to Tampa to be near her father and start her own hockey league for kids. They don’t know each other but travel to Toronto for the All Star Game and meet in a bar and share an amazing kiss. Life happens and so they don’t take it any further. Chloe knows who he is but Niko does not know she is his coach’s daughter. When they are back in Tampa, they keep running into each other. He doesn’t have time for a relationship and she is trying to start a new life, but he calls for help when he needs a nanny to show the court he is ready for custody of his daughter. Chloe jumps right in to help him. I love Niko’s Russian sayings that don’t always make sense. I love how Chloe fits well into Niko’s family with his daughter. I love the slow burning romance becoming a few spicy scenes. I love that these characters are in their 30s and 40s. I hope that more keep coming out because this has been an awesome series!

This book had a lot of detail whether it was the characters thoughts and feelings or the locations and people around them. It was a great story that was engaging. The relationships between the characters and the setting were fun and interesting. It is a young adult dystopian story so would be good for young readers. I really liked that the author included a little tidbit at the beginning for each character with a description of them and how they fit into it.

It’s been a very long time since I’ve read Pride and Prejudice, but this was a very nice spin off. It’s a very quick and easy read and seems perfect for an afternoon in the sun!

Another great book by Naomi Valkyrie. My only complaint is I wanted more story, more explanation of why things were the way they were. I really enjoy the way this author writes. I really liked Acheron and was hoping to learn more about vulture shifters and their roles. Normally this author doesn’t write too steamy of love scenes, but I was glad she went a little more in that direction this time. As always, I highly recommend this book and any book from this author.

This was a new author to me so I didn’t know what to expect, but I enjoy dystopian type stories so I gave it a shot. I’m glad I did. You can tell this author put a lot of effort into his writing and knowledge. It’s basically a children’s military school with a fantasy twist. I was drawn in from tbr beginning and will be watching for a second book! I recommend this book for really any age group.

This is an exceptional book that is very helpful and every college student, advisor, mentor, high school senior should read it. There is so much in this book and there is something in there for everyone…even if you think you know everything and have it pretty much figured out. I can guarantee you that you will find something in here that will either help you in a way you didn’t know you needed help or will help you streamline a process you already use. I love how easy to read this book is and how you can quickly go through and find the area you need. While I highly recommend reading this book from cover to cover, this is the perfect book to be able to look in the contents and find the section that applies to you right now. If you are a college student or you have a college student (even a high school senior) get this book. I am a former teacher and I would have definitely gifted this book to my seniors…or at least tried to have a couple of copies in my classroom. I will definitely be putting this on my work bookshelf to help all of the college kiddos I see now.

I absolutely love this kids story. The cadence and rhythm of the words is so soothing and calming and the book is also educational. In this book we follow the river and get to see all of the animals that call the river home, as well as how a river can help people and the environment. But I think my favorite thing about this book is the illustrations. They are breathtakingly beautiful, realistic, and cozy. This is definitely one you’ll want to add to your bookshelf.

Lapidius is book one in the A Nation Found series by Matthew Runals. An enchanting combination of a military school and monsters. I adored this idea, and it reminded me of Enders Game which I also absolutely loved. This is intended as a YA dystopian fiction but this does also have some of the heavier themes that come with war. This was an amazing read, and a new author to me. I ate this book right up, and I heavily look forward to reading what’s next!

This is the first book in A Nation Found Series and the first book I have read by this author. This is a YA adult fantasy adventure which has so much happening that it will keep you on the edge of your seat.
I wasn’t too sure what to expect going into this book however I was not disappointed. The author opens us up to a world where it seems all hope is lost until the youth are given something to fight for. The characters is the book are well written and I loved how the boys had banter between themselves just as you know that boys do in real life. Every aspect of this book was well thoughtout out and the characters and surroundings were brought to life.

Joey and his friends and their family’s are struggling to survive as times are hard and their town is losing all hope.
To save their son’s, Joey and his friends are sent to Lapidius. Lapidius is a school where the boys will be educated and feed well.
However things aren’t all that they seem and when they arrive the boys realise the Lapidius is more of a training camp that a school and they are being trained to fight a war that gets closer by the day.
Add to this all the mystery that surrounds Lapidius, the monsters and the adventures that Joey and his friends find themselves on and this becomes one book that you will not be able to put down.

A good book to end the series with. I haven’t read book one, just two and three but even in book two I never thought of Abby being part of the Whittier family. I wanted to scream at all the towns people who were against her as soon as they found out who she was. And the entire time my anxiety was going thinking the lawyer was going to screw her over in the end, good news, he doesn’t. I’m glad her friends didn’t turn on her when she told them the news of her true identity. Not going to lie, I was on and off about Joe. Some parts of the book I couldn’t wait for them to be together and other parts I was like is this really the guy she’s going to be with? But I am glad they got there happily ever after. I recommend to all clean, slow burn, romance readers.

I love finding books with shifters that aren’t the usual wolf and bear. This one has vultures, jackals and bats. I thought it was interesting that the vultures help send souls over into underworld. I would love to know more about the shifters and how their world works since vultures really can’t leave their city and I’m not sure if it’s all shifters or only that no one can marry a jackal and vulture. It’s all interesting. The story also includes romance and a little spice. I enjoyed the short story and am now trying to find the series to learn more about the world.

This is a fun, quick read with a lot of flirting and some serious SPICE.
The humor comes through in the dialogue of characters.
Nikoli and Chole are FANTASTIC characters.
I loved the banter between the characters.

This is a shorter story that packs quite journey into a short story. I’ve read several books by this author and I’m amazed by her attention to detail and her characters are fully developed and relatable. I don’t want to give anything away. Will Georgiana find a Suitor Love? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

This is the third book in the Match Made in Montana series. It is a wonderful romance series based in a small-town country setting that is so beautifully portrayed. Each of our main character’s stories continues throughout each of the books, as well as focusing on a new set of couples. Each of the new couples needs to work through whatever situation is causing contention between the two before finding they have such a deep connection and shows how true love knows no bounds. What a great series this is, so old-fashioned in the morals of the people, it’s such a refreshing, feel-good read. I hope that you all enjoy reading this series as much as I did, I cannot wait to read more from Rachelle Paige Campbell, who has such a magical writing style that combines old-fashioned beliefs with romance that gives you hope for a brighter future. I am a huge fan of Pride and Prejudice, and I love reading variation books, especially when they follow along with the original storyline. In this book, we get to follow Miss Georgiana as she seeks to find a potential mate so she may start her own family. What a wonderful short read this was. If you are a fan of the original characters then you will want to read this book, because we get to read about how many of the past characters are doing and learn of their fates. T. L. Clark did a great job matching the writing style and being true to the period from the setting to the speaking patterns of the character. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a short and sweet romance.

Cam Creates a Hero is the second book in the Courage Tales series by Dagmara Sitek, who has lovingly crafted another wonderfully meaningful children’s story – with lovely, colourful illustrations that help to bring the story to life.

When Cam hears about a little girl who was hurt by her stepmother, he can’t stop thinking about her and how he can help, so using his creativity he sets out to do something about it- building a hero-bot to help protect kids in trouble. With a whole lot of determination, planning, persistence, trial + error, and a touch of magic – Hero Bot Georgio comes to life.
This little adventure is aimed at children aged 6 to 12 years-old — but I feel there is value to the story that will ensure that the book can be enjoyed and appreciated by all ages.
This is not only a cute tale but teaches valuable life lessons along the way. Inspiring emotional empathy/compassion, creativity, persistence, strength of character, kindness, resilience, following your dreams, problem solving, and more.
This was such a lovely, heartwarming story that left me with all the ‘feel-good’ vibes of a meaningful story.
Looking forward to reading the rest of the series…

Cam Creates a Hero by Dagmara Sitek – 4 Stars

Artistic Cam is doing a school project when he sees the news of a little girl in the hospital because her step mom hurt her. Cam feeling so sad and upset decides to make a hero robot that will help protect little kids.
After seeing the robot is not working; Cam has a dream about Giorgio and writes a book that he can share with his foster family and the sick kids in the hospital. The kids loved it so much it brought Giorgio to life.

To think the magic that was found all started with a simple drawing and a dream.

I think it’s an adorable book about determination, dreams and empathy for those around us; how we can bring light and magic to others. We can achieve our goals with a little determination, dreams and a little bit of magic inside us.

I love the story behind the book. Well written and very inspiring. I would give it 5 stars if the chat boxes were easier to follow in order of conversation (thinking from a child’s perspective).
Overall the message it sends is hope, love for others and we all have a little bit of magic in ourselves.

The name “Georgiana Darcy” was enough for me to pick this book, it is a spin off sequel of the iconic classic, Pride and Prejudice. It is always a pleasure to read any variation of the classic. This book, however is a very short one, with just 4 chapters. It opens up directly into the P&P setting, happily married Darcy and Elizabeth , the shy and reserved Georgiana, who is still not brave enough to step into the society after her setback with Mr Wickham. She asks Elizabeth to help, and what can attract suitors better than a grand ball ! Will Georgina find her match amongst the suitors?
I loved this book, I only hoped that it could have been a little longer. As the setting builds up, the book ends and the reader is left craving for more.
But I will not let the length of the book obstruct the sheer joy of going back to the P&P era. It was unexpected for me and I loved every bit of it.

Lapidus By Matthew Runals is a good book for dystopian readers it also has action scenes. It takes place around war and shows how the world can be tragic. The school has many secrets and some fantasy scenes while it teaches them how they are fighting for their country. The kids also have to fight monsters, and they are in a war. This book is a great read for children and adults. It is also for people who like dystopian and fantasy stories.

A fast-paced edge of the seat thriller, this book is about James Sheldon, a former detective who has fallen into a pit of deep despair. He has lost everything in his life, his career, his family and his home. Lady Luck keeps evading him quite a bit until one fine day she changes her mind. James Sheldon wins a lottery involving a substantial amount of money. But does money solve all his problems or in turn add more to his woes? Things turn worse when he has to battle enemies who emerge out of the blue for his money. This book is a very fast paced read, I enjoyed every bit of it. Highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a good thriller ride.
