Another great kids book by this author. I really love how this author is able to bring the characters to life and help teach kids and build their imagination. I really like how the author is able to create a vivid world and broaden children’s imaginations and teaching them at the same time. I really wish that my kids were young enough to read these and I would definitely recommend these books to anyone with small children.

Heart’s Rescue (Fallen Hearts) by Meredith Hart – Review by Kerry Carr

Heart's Rescue (Hearts Below, #1)Heart’s Rescue by Meredith Hart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book 1 of the Hearts Below series. I was captivated by this book from the first page. It is a paranormal romance which is my favourite anyway but the author’s amazing write created a world and characters that I loved. The two main characters of Rowan and Arryn are both so well written that they jump off the page.
This is a enemies to lovers story which is full of action, adventure and steamy romance.
When Arryn’s betrothed goes missing she takes it upon herself to find him. Little does she realise that he has landed in World Below.
After she falls there herself she finds herself in a dangerous world she doesn’t understand.
Rowan is a guard who has to take over patrolling Worlds Below after his brother was injured by a monster from the World Above.
When he comes across Arryan he knows she is a monster and should destroy her on sight however there is something different about her. As they work together to try and get Arryan back to the world above Rowan realises he doesn’t want to let her go.
What will happen when Arryan realises that the Prince she came to rescue is no longer the love she wants?
Can they relationship between Arryan and Rowan actually work with them being from different worlds?
What is the additional magic that Rowan possesses and how will that effect them?
This is a fast paced paranormal adventure filled with romance, danger, and magic. You will fall in love with the characters and find yourself cheering for their victory but will they be able to face all the dangers and challenges ahead of them?

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m typically not the type of reader that chooses holiday books to read, but I took a chance on this one because it seemed super cute…. And I’m glad I did! This book definitely provides Christmas and holiday spirit, and gives the love and feel of a romantic comedy as well! I loved the fact that, while the setting was around the holidays, the story itself could apply to everyday life. It provides an eye-opener regarding the life balancing act, prioritizing, and living in the moment. It was a great, quick read that was a cozy, big hug.

Gumshoe Goes To A Quinceanera (Gumshoe Mysteries Book 2)Gumshoe Goes To A Quinceanera by Laura Hawks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another winner with this adventure for Mia & Gumshoe. Mia is trying to fulfill her promise to help Gumshoe find out what happened to his family. Along the way, another adventure involving a party. I just cannot put these books down. The last one (Gumshoe & The Mysterious Mushroom) and this one are sooo good that you want to read them in one sitting. They are entertaining. Gumshoe can only be understood by Mia. She has learned she is a witch and he is her familar. I laugh at their interactions. I have been reading this too my grandson and he has been chuckling too. He rarely laughs but he finds Gumshoe is funny. The cozies are perfect for the teen/young adult crowd. I’m an old lady and I love them too. I can’t wait for the next one.

I can’t tell you much more that that without spoiling it. I can tell you that this is a story is entertaining, humorous and makes you enjoy finding the culprit. I loved everything about it. The story and flow is so perfect. Mia and her parents are perfect in the story. I can’t wait for the next book.

Wild For Me (The Balefire Series Book 3) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Barbara Bohls

Wild For Me (Balefire, #3)Wild For Me by Tam DeRudder Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First thing first, this is the third book in the series and each book can be read as a stand alone book. I feel that if you start with book one in the series you will have a better flow but, you don’t have to do that. Each book in the series does a great job at making sure you could pick any of then up and just start reading. Now, for the fun stuff. This book has steam, passion, second chance romance, and obviously the life style of rock n roll. So it has everything to keep you turning pages and not stopping until you finish it. There is humor in this book that actually made me chuckle out loud because you can legit see these things happening in real life. I am not going to say what parts made me giggle because I want you all to experience it for yourselves when you read this book. The character development in this story flows and seems really authentic. The spice is at an amazing level but is still tastefully done. I hope that makes sense. This book has everything in it that I would ever crave from a rockstar romance. It even had things I didn’t know I needed but will now require in other books going forward. This was a quick read because I couldn’t put it down and I know that once y’all start reading it; it will be the same for you. Don’t miss this book or this series, it has become one of my favorites and will be one that I will read over and over again.

Magical Christmas romance
Chasing Cheer is the first book in the Magical Emerald Hollow series and had all the feels. It was a brilliant read with a captivating light hearted storyline, relatable characters and tonnes of Christmas magic. As I was reading, the pictures just flowed in my head and I could imagine every moment between Holly and Ash – so much like a Hallmark movie. A very enjoyable read that I highly recommend.

Lucky Break (Trentbridge Tales Book 2) by Lee Wood – Review by Brandy Vaughn

Lucky Break (Trentbridge Tales #2)Lucky Break by Lee Wood
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Trentbridge Crime series is as much about the location as the characters.
Characters come and go during this series, but we see more of the town of Trentbridge with each book. We start in London in this story, but then plot slowly turns to Trentbridge and the Albion Hotel. It’s really easy to get caught up in this story and wonder if the main character will ever get his lucky break. Does getting that lucky break last? Read to find out!

When We Fell Again by Julie Archer – Review by Beverly Finnie

When We Fell AgainWhen We Fell Again by Julie Archer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love music! And I really love meaningful music that delivers a message! When we Fell Again provided some of that along the way. As a second chance romance it didn’t disappoint. The author displayed character growth while navigating heavy topics wonderfully.
Lex and Jordan compliment each other nicely. Unfortunately there’s obstacles in places and things that happen that tore them apart once.
Will that prevent them from trying again?
Lex has been tasked as being the stage manager for Idol Rev. Unfortunately there’s just one problem: her ex is the lead singer of that band and things didn’t end well. However, this is her job, so feelings aside she needs to man up and push through.
How does her heart feel about that?
Jordan has had a rough year, and it’s time for a new beginning for him and the band. Excited to get back on tour, just to come back down off that high, when finding out his ex-gf will be along for the ride.
How will he handle that?
Jordan’s character is written with so much growth it’s refreshing. He’s dealt with a lot in life. Some of those situations he’s put himself into. But will to grow and get past that has shown a strength that sometimes characters like this lack. It’s wonderful to see how he’s changed, the question being will Lex see it too?
So many questions, and plenty of answers. The quest for those answers are what keeps one intrigued. Keeps the reader turning the page wondering what decision will be made next!
As second chance romances go this one shows the growth the reader is looking for. Beware of the heavy topics. They come up here and there but it’s enough that could impact someone. Despite that it’s worth the read.

This book is a very easy read especially when you want to get out of reality. I like how the characters interact with each other, especially the band mates. Shadow’s Fall (Shadowstalker Series Book 3) by Natalie Johanson – Review by Mandy Ott

Shadow's Fall (Shadowstalker Series Book 3)Shadow’s Fall by Natalie Johanson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I read Shadow’s Fall without reading the prior books in the series. While I don’t feel I really missed out on a lot of information, I am sure reading the others first would have made things a bit more smooth as far as the storyline and understanding how the characters were connected. Natalie Johanson does an amazing job weaving a descriptive, intriguing, and original story. I could see the world in which the story takes place and feel what the characters were feeling. The characters were so original, likeable, and believable. The added elements of magic, danger, romance, and darkness only enhanced the book’s entertainment. I was kept on the edge of my seat more than once waiting to see what would happen next. Shadow’s Fall is Young Adult fiction but is just as entertaining for older individuals who enjoy a great fantasy read.

Read it, read it, just read it. You will NOT be disappointed. I adored this book and it sucked me into a world that felt so real with characters that captivated me and had me hanging on every word and move. I just started the ACOTAR series recently and this held the similar air of angst, feelings, and strong characters. I am not sure where Meredith has been hiding from me but I am so dang glad I found her because I could live a thousand lives following her well written words. Couldn’t give this enough stars.

What We Never Say: Empowering Contemporary Women's Fiction (Bold Journeys Book 2)What We Never Say: Empowering Contemporary Women’s Fiction by Paulette Stout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my second Stout book and once again, I am quite captivated by the story line and its content. I’ve read stories before on abuse but this is the first time reading about a male victim. Although it is not as common, it is good to spread awareness of his predicament. This story tells of Rebecca, an upcoming magazine writer, and her boyfriend, Kyle, a former model turned photographer. Details of his past begin to emerge of sexual harassment from high executive women. These details make and break what relationship they have and put them into a precarious situation. The story shifts here and there but continues to captivate its readers as it progresses.

The Mother’s Threat by Susan Specht Oram – Review by Shea Gilkerson 9/24/23

The Mother's ThreatThe Mother’s Threat by Susan Specht Oram
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

New author for me, but I will be reading more. There is suspense, intrigue, danger, tension, drama, secrets, and unexpected twists in this book.

Violet is opening a security business and just clinched a great protection gig for her first job. While starting her protection duties, stresses are coming to a head in town and protestors, rioters and vandals are actively working against her. As she was sharing her information with her parents, they get a little shady about the details of an upcoming trip they’re taking.

Violet is trying her best to offer her protection services, but those who have come to the area to help stir up the unrest are coming for her. Why would they be specifically on the lookout for Violet? Because her mother is there as a leader of the protests and is leaking them information that is very dangerous for her daughter to have them know.

The mother and daughter find themselves facing off and Violet is forced to face so many emotions that go along with loving someone but not liking them or agreeing with them. Angst, fear, tension, family drama, and so much danger and betrayal for Violet in her first big contract. The characters were well written and intriguing, the mother was SO FRUSTRATING and unwilling to protect her daughter, the ending was mildly anticlimactic after so much angst and strain throughout the story, but it was good and I’ll certainly be reading more.

Notebook Mysteries ~ A Party to Remember (Notebook Mysteries Series) by Kimberly Mullins – Review by Elizabeth Sanchez

Notebook Mysteries ~ A Party to RememberNotebook Mysteries ~ A Party to Remember by Kimberly Mullins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Most of the Notebook Mystery series can be read as a stand alone, but I think A Party to Remember needs to be read as part of the story. There is a lot going on, per usual, but this book was short and without much background information. There are a lot of characters carried over from the other books. This was a short read, but was good and jam packed with adventure. It is Christmas time, and a lot is happening in Emma and Jeremy’s lives- Mysterious dinner parties, weddings, adoptions, attempted murder… If you have read the other books in the series, you will love this one too. I am curious to see where it goes from here, after the addition of Henrietta. If you have not read other books in the series, but like historical mysteries, give it a try. There may be a few details you don’t quite catch on to, but its still a good story.

This was a good 4 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning with the author’s writing. Ethan and Olivia’s story was great. Olivia hasn’t had the best relationships and when she is encouraged to find a date for a wedding she goes on a blind date. Of course there is a twist and she ends up meeting Ethan. Their story is quite the journey of ups and downs, which added a great element to the story. I did have some LOL moments and some frustrations. Will these two get the HEA they both deserve? Born to Die (The McIntire County Series Book 2) by Winter Austin a great romance suspense

Deputy Cassy Rivers’ heart is in danger as trouble is on the loose in rural Eider, Iowa. She narrowly escaped a terrifying ordeal at the hands of a lunatic two years ago, but not without scars. She now needs to put her trust in the one man who destroyed her heart after a string of random thefts results in the violent death of a fellow officer.Boyce Hunt, an FBI agent, is aware that individuals with a past like his shouldn’t commit. He once parted ways with Cassy in order to shield her from his mother’s criminal enterprise’s extortion and manipulation. However, their attraction rekindles as they grudgingly work together to apprehend the current Bonnie and Clyde terrorizing McIntire County, separating Boyce between the two loyalties.

This is a super cool atory. I like when an author pulls out all the stops in creating the world. Everything is perfectly holiday. From the thoughts to the swearing. I was impressed at the cleverness that was put into this holiday story.

I did feel it was overly long as I got the point or idea long before we got there in the story. That is my only complaint. It is a cute light hearted and delightful story. I devoured every word.
