Lois and Darling did an amazing job with this story. I don’t think I’ve ever read a children’s book that dealt with politics and did it so wonderfully. It was magical, it was cultural. It was amazing. I have become a fan of Lois’ books. I read them to my 3 yr old nephew. I didn’t read him this one, as it was a bit longer than he would sit still for. I would definitely suggest this for ages 7 and up.

A beautifully written slow burn forbidden romance. This was a lovely, engrossing read that kept me turning the pages. The characters were well written and I would highly recommend.

This was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the start. Dark Mafia is one of my favorite reads and this one did not disappoint. We get a hot alpha male and strong female character. We get so much in this story. Luca wants revenge and Val is the perfect pawn to help him get it. But…will he be able to keep his heart out of it or will he fall for her? I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen next. All of the characters added a great element to the story. This story was awesome!! I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump these past few weeks and haven’t been able to read a story all the way through. This one was different though. I couldn’t put it down. Matthias and Ava were such good main characters and enjoyed their story. The growth of the characters was much needed and awesome to see. A little angst but I enjoyed the story alot. This is a pretty neat book for coping with anxiety and worries, not only for children but for adults as well. The author has come up with such a clever and simple story that we cannot help being in awe with it. Lily forgets her best pal, Hun Bun, her stuffed bunny, at home. Hun bun has always been with her and helps her get through any anxiety or stress. On the day Hun Bun is not there, Lily gets anxious. Her heart beats faster and her belly does flip flops. She goes to the school nurse who teaches her breathing exercises. She also teaches Lily to ask herself the reason for her anxiety.
It is a meaningful book with colorful illustrations. We all will gain something reading this book.
Xenia is used to playing alone in her yard. With her mother being an illegal immigrant, she was taught to not cause trouble and to stay out of the spotlight. One day, while exploring her yard, she comes across a weird group of ants. She follows them to the garbage and watches them try to steal food. Next thing she knows a mouse appears and tries to steal the food. Xenia felt bad for the ants and tried scaring the mouse enough to drop the food. Something unexpected happened instead. The mouse turned into hundreds of ants. Xenia then decides to study them more. She has a science project she needs to do and she thinks she just found her topic.
The next day, her world is turned upside down. ICE took her mother and Xenia and her brother are left to pick up the pieces at home. She is scared that her mother will be deported and they will never see each other again. She tries to stay optimistic by focusing on the magic ants, while all hoping to be reunited with her mother.
This book was unexpected. I have read Lois Wickstrom’s stories before but this one was very different from her normal style. The book delved into some serious topics about immigrants and how they are treated. There was also a lot of Mexican culture and language mixed in with a hint of magic. The book is definitely geared towards older children but the authors did a great job at explaining the difficult topics.I was rooting for the family to be reunited. I also like that this topic was written but I could not fully enjoy the story to be honest. It felt rushed. I feel like there should have been more to the story.

This book covers a topic close to my heart. The story is primarily about the TNR program, which is very informative in handling stray and feral cats. It is a beautiful story about a family which has a lot of stray cats coming to their door step. It is about how they educate themselves about the TNR program and how it comes useful to them. With beautiful illustrations and lot of information, this book acts like a guide to any pet lover. I highly recommend this book.

Book Two of the Protector Wolf Shifter Series started right up where book one left off. Tamasca is ticked at Kodiak. Both of them want to track down the Blood Opal from the vampires. Both are attracted to each other. Better yet, they seem to be drawn to each other but Tamasca is struggling to understand what Kodiak has unveiled about his true self.
One is human. One is a wolf shifter.
Tamasca’s struggle often felt like a tug of war between her mind versus her heart throughout book two. I love how the struggle and internal conflict was written in book two.
If you haven’t read book one, you might want to do that before finishing up this one so you fully understand the context behind the powerful attraction between the main characters, the hurt Tamasca experienced upon learning of her bff’s fate in book one and then the bombshell reveal from Kodiak after a strange but unexpectedly hot experience between the two. This book delves deeper into the chaos, passion, mystery and excitement that makes this book even better than the first.
I’m definitely a fan of the way the author has created this mysterious plot and the personable characters. I look forward to reading book three to see if it is full of supernatural intrigue, mystery, action, and lots of drama.

Shirl is different from the other kids her age. This is the reason why she thinks she is not an Earthling but an alien instead. She wants to find out what planet she is actually from so she can have like minded friends.
When she radios an alien with an invitation, she is beyond excited when the alien accepts. The alien lands and Shirl notices first that the alien looks different from her so therefore cannot be from her home planet but this doesn’t stop her from befriending the alien.
This book was cute. Shirl seems like a quiet type who typically do not have many friends. She thinks she is too different from the others but when she realizes that her alien friend is different but they can still be friends, maybe she isn’t too different from Earthlings afterall.
I honestly wish this author was around when I was a child. All of their books are well written with many life lessons hidden in the excitement.

I enjoyed this book. I think it is a good book for those kids who feel they don’t quite fit in with other kids their age. The story flows well and I think many kids will enjoy it. I recommend this book to parents of young children as it might help them feel they are not alone in feeling like they are different.

I thought this was a really awesome start to a great series! I loved getting to see Ian and Katherine’s story play out and I am so excited to see more of them and the rest of the vampires, werewolves, and other magical creatures. This was definitely a book I couldn’t put down until the final page. The author has created a magical world where mythical creatures still exist and Atlantis is real. I thought she did a great job of really drawing you into the story and building scenes that you could really visualize. If you love a modern paranormal romance, this is an excellent start! Can’t wait for the rest of the books!

What a wonderful read! This book is the quintessential, boys older brother falls in love with younger brothers best friend, things go utterly wrong, until they finally go wonderfully right.
Theo, is utterly besotted with his best friend, Ava, who has lived on the property his family owns all his life and they were practically inseparable, but predictably, Ava like many a young women, is clueless to Theo’s feelings. Ava loves Theo, he’s always been there for her, through the loss of her mother and her through the loss of his, they are closer to close, so it only makes sense that they should be together, right? Wrong. Ave has the HOTS for Mathias the brooding older brother set to be the heir yo the King kingdom, if only he’d stop treating Ava like the mud under his shoes, everything would be fine. Or, maybe it won’t.
Me over her not trying to spoil the whole book. Anywayyysss, I love Ava, I love her direct ness, she’s sassy yet sensitive, and she cares deeply about the people she loves. Matthias on the other hand make me want to punch a wall, he’s so quick to act and say things he doesn’t mean, and not quick at all to apologize. Even though that irritates me like no other, the soft, artistic sweet loving guy he is under his quick angry, is redeeming enough for me to get over his stubbornness.
I quite enjoy how deeply the author dives into the emotions and thoughts of her characters, it helps you fall in love with them, feel what they are feeling. I haven’t looked to much into it, but I would throughly enjoy diving into the king family some more, seeing all the brothers lives outside of the king manor would be très interesting.
So if you’re not sure about this book, take the plunge, it’s worth it, I believe you will fall in love with the characters as I have.

I Am An Outer Space Alien by Lois Wickstrom is about how Shirley doesn’t believe she is from this planet and how she is different from others. We normally love all books by this author but this one missed the mark with my little. Granted, it seems as though my daughter was too young (she’s three) but we love all their other books with a twist. The illustrations were nice and seemed to catch the attention of my girl. Overall, the story was okay, seemed to be about not fitting in or feeling like you don’t. I didn’t quitel get it though but maybe my imagination was off today. The story is quick and you can definitely “find” a lesson to it. But it wasn’t a favorite of mine. My girl was like what’s an alien? Haha it made for a fun discussion but she wasn’t a true fan of the book.

Lois writes children’s books with a wide range of topics and cleverly creates tales that are easily imagined with the beautiful pictures shown. In this story she has thrown in some science fiction elements that makes the story just a little bit more exciting. Xenia and the Magic Ants is a bit of a sad story and is a controversial political story addressing deportation. It is confusing for adults let alone children and Lois does a good job of explaining this in terms that a child would understand. Xenia Navarro has never been so scared when her Mexican mother gets arrested and is about to be deported but hopes they will all be together again soon. Read along with Xenia to find out what happens to her family.

Her writing is dark, raw, and gritty and captivates the reader. Deadly Vengeance is a charming and seductive dark mafia thriller romantic story that has secrets and lies, intrigue and darkness, angst and fear and intrigue to keep the pages turning get the heart pumping. Anise writes character that you will either love or hate. I enjoyed the push pull between the characters which starts right from the start. One thing is for sure and that is their honour to protect at all costs those that they love. Vengeance turns rivals once pitted against one another into love or is it hate? This is the second book in the Things Unseen series and once again, the blurb was enough for me to know I’d love this book.
I love that we saw more of Con’s background, his family and homeland in this book. Though even in Ireland, the pair (Neve and Con) aren’t safe from peril, even while still trying to heal from their previous ordeal.
This book has made me fall more in love with Neve and Con than before, something I didn’t think was even possible. After everything they’ve both gone through, they’re so supportive and strong, bringing the best out in each other at their darkest moments.
The tension builds throughout as the danger rises, leaving you concerned for everyone’s safety. You’re left trying to unravel the secrets alongside the characters, rooting for everyone’s survival. I hope there’s another book coming soon as I cannot get enough of this series.

This may be one of my absolute favorites from this author so far! Both my kiddos loved it, and I enjoyed it as well! Shirley (Shirl) is sure that Earth isn’t her home planet, but she really loves it when Eee-ahh comes to visit and play. I feel that this author ties in life lessons into her stories so well that you don’t fully realize it until after you’ve put the book down! This book started a conversation with my kids, and I loved every moment of it. I highly recommend this book for the little ones in your life!

Royally Complicated By: Gwyn McNamee and Christy Anderson
This is a fantastic story that features a prince and a heartbroken girl. Fyn is the prince and he is written as a very relatable royal character. He is at the beach to escape – from life, from all that is expected of him, etc. I could relate to that on a very visceral level – I mean who hasn’t had a moment where they want to run away just to breathe. Bridget is alone on her honeymoon. So she is drinking away her current situation and making the best of this beach vacation. I definitely didn’t blame her. I have to give the authors credit – Bridget’s situation could have come about very whiney and poor me but it didn’t she was a girl on the beach who happened to be heartbroken. But heartbroken was not a defining role for her. I loved how spicy this book got! This is definitely more of a modern fairy tale and I truly enjoyed it. It has a good balance of romance, fairy tale, and yet still went into the aspects of royalty. I definitely recommend reading this one. It has just enough spice to keep you satisfied!

I have enjoyed each and everyone of the Balefire Series I have read. I love a good rockstar book and Tam DeRudder Jackson is one of the best I have read at writing them. Blu and Ashleigh were fantastic characters, who were dynamic together. They had wonderful banter and I enjoyed reading the two of them interact with one another. I also love how well she uses a dual perspective to tell this story. I always enjoy (when it is done well) seeing the characters alternate in telling the story, she also gives enough of an overlap that you feel that you are seeing things from both perspectives. I have read all of the series and enjoy each and every one, but if this is the first one you are drawn to, you can definitely read it as a standalone. This is a fantastic book and I am excited to see what happens next in the Balefire Series!

The authors do a fantastic job of making you feel like you are in high school experiencing every piece of drama as you are reading. This is a great teenage romance and the authors are fantastic at creating believable teenage characters who have the kind of teenage love we all know. That tumultuous love where each truly has the others back at the end of the day. This book is amazingly well written and I definitely recommend it.

This is the second book in the Olympic Peninsula Series. I read the first book, The Silent Woodsman, and was anxiously awaiting the second book. I do think this book functions as a standalone, however, I will say that I definitely recommend reading the first book first. This is due to the same characters being featured in both books. I feel that you miss a large part of this story if you are unfamiliar with the background of the characters. This time it’s Liam’s story. He was presumed dead in a terrorist attack. His sister, however, never lost hope that he was alive. She believed in their connection. Ali (his sister) and her husband, Joe, bring him back home. Liam and Ali are such amazing characters, they are dark and twisty and completely believable. They have had such a tight bond and have been through so much. It only makes sense that Liam is completely unsure of what he wants next in is life. However, if you read the first book, you know that not only did Liam and Ali have difficulty in growing up. Joe has an incredibly complicated family. And his sister needs his help. Joe and his sister have a good relationship. Teresa is also an excellent character. I loved how she and Liam interacted. Cat Treadgold is a fantastic author who really has a strength in creating complex, believable and relatable characters. Each and everyone one of the characters introduced in this book is perfect. They are absolutely well written and why I know that I will be seeking out more of Cat’s book’s in the future!

Another awesome children’s book from this author. It’s written for the younger tiny humans. I’d say age 4-7 ish. It’s well worded, inventive, and beautifully illustrated.

This book is the sequel to Dead Sound. It is a fantastic thriller. It is well written and is filled with twists and turns that kept me reading way late into the night. Con and Neve are incredibly interesting characters. Every part of this plot seemed incredibly unique to me and every time I thought that I had it pretty much figured out, there would be another twist to keep me guessing. I truly enjoyed this book and recommend it for anyone who enjoys a great thriller.

This is such a fantastic story! It is a great rock story that has a main character who undergoes so much growth and development throughout the book. Adrian is not your normal rock story – he doesn’t ooze sex, drugs and music. Instead he has a relationship with Hastings who has a condition called synesthesia. This dynamic between Adrian and Hastings is something that I can truly not describe. It is just best experienced. This book took me through every emotion possible and I loved every second of it. Only the best storytellers can write a book to make you feel things as much as I did in this book Andrea Fehsenfelt is a true storyteller and her work in this book makes it a must read. I hope to read more from her soon!

This is a fantastic billionaire romance featuring Ava and Matthias. I loved the dynamic between the two of them. I loved the dynamic that they have known each other for a really long time and that their families are super close. This added layers of complication to each of both Ava and Matthias. It is was a nice twist that she is also looking at a lifetime of happiness with Matthias’ brother. I feel that this was a key piece of the story that really added depth to the characters. I think that this book was very well written and it definitely kept me wanting more. I had a hard time putting it down! I definitely recommend this one!
