Being my first “poly” book, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Although a new writer, this author shows great promise with exceptional writing. Mike and Dane were fun characters that were full of personality and spice. Not sure what I expected from this type of story, but it was refreshing to see that jealously wasn’t really a factor in their relationship, and the happiness of their partner and their relationship trumped any of those potential feelings. Vanessa grew on me throughout the book, but I still find myself struggling to like Vy. I get being a little shocked and needing some time after learning about Dane and Mike’s unusual relationship but YEARS? She’s just a bit much in my opinion. I think if the book were a bit longer I could have learned to accept her character as well, but that’s my only real complaint. I look forward to reading more in this series.
This was a fun read that is a first read for me from this author. I’ve already added the previous books to my never ending TBR file.
This book is full of adventure as Taylor has to go undercover to help try to solve the mystery of the missing local book club president. When the ever prompt Anita Juarez doesn’t show up for the regular book club meeting and her car is located on a very mysterious road, a lot of care and concern is shown.
This book will not let you down, although this series should probably be read in order. I love Taylor’s cats and how they play into the story too! There are twists and turns, with lots of intrigue and even some humor sprinkled throughout.

Eleanor Dixon continues Tally’s adventures in Japan for book 3. I thought this one was more scary and tense than the first two, especially if you have younger kids. I thought the cultural references and traditions were very well laid out in this book, even though I am adult, I learned some Japanese vocabulary as well as history of taiko drumming.
I thought the best characterizations is when Jophiel takes a break from Tally (I won’t tell you why!) and the pain/angst Tally goes through not having her new friend literally by her side. As with the first two books, I enjoyed how the story of the spirit/being at the beginning of the chapter interweaves with what is happening with Tally and her friends in modern day times.

I have to start with I had a hard time getting into this book. However, I loved the originality and how well this novella flowed with the original series! I think these books deserve to be made into movies they are THAT good.

If you’ve been reading this series since the beginning, then you know Damon…and his story is one you’re going to want to read! This book was just as good as the previous books. Skylar, Gia, and Damon are characters that pulled me in with their story. I couldn’t devour their story fast enough…only to come to the ending that has me waiting (not so) patiently for the next book!! I cannot say enough good things about this series!!

This book really messes with your head and emotions. I’m still not even sure what the truth is lol. It’s was so entertaining and you immediately feel nothing but empathy for Truly. When her world is turned upside down so was mine. Is everything in her head or did the events actually happen? If you supernatural books this is a great one to read.

I liked this better than the trilogy- thought the plot, writing and sequence of events was more succinct and less wordy and drawn out. I appreciated how the story picks up right after Magic-Borne, and throughout this novella, we learn more about Ian and Jarryd’s previous experiences as well as their down-again and up-again friendship.
My favorite part of the book was how the main character of the book doesn’t even exist, being spirits/faes/undetermined entities that inhabit the islands Jarryd and Ian have sailed to. Haven’t read a book before that a non-entity drives the plot along as well as C.L. Schneider does in this book. Overall, I enjoyed this book and makes you think- would you want all your fears taken away?

This was a fascinating and heartbreaking story. There was so much hope and then absolute heartbreak. I felt each tear and every bout of anger. Very well written and told.

Huff…Puff…Grind by Lois Wickstrom is a re-telling of The Three Little Pigs but with s S.T.E.M. twist. First of all, this book was so cute! The three little pigs ( Hal, Stella, and Brad) have all been to architecture school and have smartened up. They are able to outsmart the wolf and try to make him an ally. This book shows children how to rely on problem-solving and kindness to get things done. I also really loved the illustrations. This is another winner by this author.

Living With Conviction is the memoir of Toby Dorr. This memoir is about how Toby made a bad decision that changed her life forever. Working in a program that she’d created training dogs in a local prison, Toby finds herself falling in love with an inmate named John. Toby helps him to escape and they go on the run together. This story tells how Toby serving her prison sentence leads to her turning her life around. This story was very up-front and honest. It is actually quite soul-bearing. Toby is able to make you understand why she did what she did and the lessons learned. I was especially happy to read about how she found redemption with the community of female inmates that she was in prison with. It took a lot of bravery to tell her story and by doing so Toby has inspired so many.

Not exactly sure what was the cause but a rift has settled between her daughter’s, Ruth makes a plan to take a vacation with her two daughters and one granddaughter to see if she can do something to heal it. The only problem is that Ruth is dying of cancer. She might not make the trip. As Ruth’s family gather for her birthday, she makes Merci, the granddaughter, promise that she will ensure the trip will happen if Ruth is there or not.
As the trip gets closer, the chasm between sisters has only gotten bigger. Merci is worried that she won’t be able to convince her mom to go on the trip. Merci is also hiding things from her family. She has decided that she will reveal them on this trip.
This heart wrenching story is from the POVs of all women involved. Each gets their say. Each gets to reveal their truth. An overarching theme is their faith, how that gets each through the hard times. One even faces a battle of questioning God and her faith due to the actions of others.
This story of love and family is beautifully told. Although not my usual fare, the story is just the get lost in your feels, tear-jerking, redemption story of sisterhood that would be best read on a beach with the warm breeze quickly drying the tears off your cheeks or in a garden of blooming posies.

I have read a few books by this author and yet again I was surprised by how quickly you fall into her stories! She has an unbelievable knack for taking heroes who think/act like they have fallen, throwing in a wonderful heroine, and seeing what excitement unfolds. We all know that a good woman can really shake things up but wow! These two absolutely have spark but now, who will win the battle of the wills? And who is willing to pay the price for what they truly want? This is a must read!!

The Wandering Isles is a novella that is book 1 of the Soulbound Journey series. It takes place after the Crown of Stones series. We are following Ian Troy as he sets sail for the Wandering Isles with his friend Jarryd Kane, believing them to be abandoned. As they get to the isles, they soon realize that there are other magical beings there and find themselves in a very unwanted position. This novella was a wonderful read. Going on more adventures with Ian Troy post-war was an immersive treat. Wonderful world-building, adventures, and character development are par for the course with this author. You feel like you are on this wondrous adventure with Ian and Jarryd. The writing takes you along with all the emotions that the characters experience. A great addition to the Crown of Stones saga.

Undeniable is such a thrilling story! It is frustrating in a fantastic way and keeps you on the edge of your seat! Military PTSD is a tragedy that leaves our main hero certain he is just the wrong man while the heroine sees him as anything but the wrong one. Add in danger, twists you absolutely cannot predict, and a spicier BDSM side, and this story had me hooked! Not for the faint of heart, this book will have you staying up late to read the next chapter!

What fun story to read to the kids. Looking from an animal’s perspective was amazing. A great turn around as far as people go. Made a person think, that’s for sure. The author made note of the different houses and vehicles. I laughed so hard when the deer asked where in the house people poop. The story was well written and easy to follow. Even easier for the children to understand. This may have been a new author for me, but not for long as I will be looking and reading more her.
Living With Conviction is a powerful True Crime Memoir written by the author about how she helped a convicted murderer escape from prison in a dog crate. It is a poignant, moving, real, and raw account of the sensationalized news story that was the inspiration for the movie ‘Jailbreak Lovers’. Told from Toby’s perspective the reader gets a firsthand account of the events leading up to the escape as well as when they were captured nearly two weeks later. Toby takes the reader through her time incarcerated in prison and her journey towards finding redemption, healing, and her own self-worth.
Having a Diploma in Criminology, and loving true crime books, this book was a must read for me. It is one thing to read a book written about a true crime case, or watch a movie about it, but it is another to read a firsthand account from the person themselves. Reading Toby’s memoir helped me gain insight into the reasons why someone might decide to commit a crime and helped me to gain a better understanding of the complex emotions that are often involved. Toby’s story is more complex than the sensationalized news story, or the tv movie of the week. It is about more than the thrilling jailbreak, the running from the law, or the high-speed police chase as Toby and John tried to evade capture. It is a story about self-discovery and finding one’s self-worth.
This was a beautifully written memoir that gives the reader insight into how one wrong mistake can have life altering changes. Toby’s life forever changed the moment she met and fell in love with a convicted murderer while she was working in the prison dog training program. Until the moment she met John her life had been dull, monotonous, and she had never even had a speeding ticket. When she met him, she felt like she was truly being listened to for the first time in her life and the two formed a strong connection. Until Toby met John it is apparent that she never felt heard, and that she felt unloved, and unwanted by those around her. Toby seems to be a people pleaser who did not know how to say no or stand up for herself. Meeting John changed that for her because he was attentive and for once in her life, she truly felt heard and loved. Helping him escape prison was a mistake that came with repercussions but ultimately helped her become stronger and find her purpose in life. This book had drama, danger, angst, heartbreak, love, hope, courage, faith, healing, and redemption. I highly recommend this book!

I enjoyed this short and fun look at humans from an animal’s perspective. A family of deer are guided on a tour of a human town by a racoon. They get to see many of the differences between humans and animals and the way they live. This is a cute story that people of all ages will enjoy. While visiting the humans can be fun the young deer also finds out just how unnerving it can be. This is a cute read that gives readers a look at how animals might interpret the way we live. The deer family has some good questions and the pictures are fun and invite discussions. This story is an easy way to start a discussion with young children. The descriptions that the racoon uses to explain the way humans live are very entertaining and will bring a smile to everyone.
Mike and Dane have been together for awhile but there is more that they want in their relationship. They want a woman, but not just any woman. One that can join them and create a family with children. This is the story of their search for that elusive woman. This was a thought provoking story of a poly relationship where a family can be whatever the people in the relationship find works for them. Very spicy and descriptive.
Cecily is a high schooler who is looking to get her big break. She just got a taste of what it will be like after she acts in a music video. With her favorite artist who just happens to become her boyfriend. She is pushing super hard to move to the city and continue her modeling / acting career. Plus she will be in the same city as her boyfriend. And get out of her small town. She isn’t all that sure she wants all that fame comes with. But she also knows she doesn’t want the opportunities to pass her by. This book was so good. It perfectly encapsulated the insecurity and the friendship issues that occur in high school. I also really enjoyed Cecily’s family and how they seemed very realistic about their daughter becoming an actress. This was such an emotional book. I definitely felt all of Cecily’s emotions throughout the book. I also really enjoyed in the beginning where she starts being confused about if she wants the negative parts of having a big break, such as the social media comments. I definitely think this is such a good summer read.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The book was full of everything I love in a book…plenty of heart, feelings and second chance. Jasmine is an adorable smart little girl who loves her mom and never knew her dad. Celia is a beautiful girl who broke Kyle’s heart about 8 years ago when she broke up with him and told him she didn’t love him. Not only was Kyle heartbroken but so was she. Kyle was able to move on and have other relationships but he always thought back to Celia and never stopped loving her. Imagine their surprise when they run into eachother at a friends wedding. Both characters have had heartbreak growing up from family members and still carry that baggage. What will happen when Celia finally tells Kyle the truth….why she broke up with him and didn’t give him the chance to choose what he wanted for his future. Will he be able to forgive Celia for what she did / didn’t do all those years ago? This book was definitely a 5 star read. I loved all the characters and cannot wait to read the next book and see what the author has in store for Zara. Grab your copy of this book and you won’t be able to Put it down.

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up by her. I never hesitate to pick up one of her books. I know that I am in for a romance roller coaster that I don’t want to get off. This book is no different. This is the first book in this series and what a great start it is. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. A story where the characters pull you into their world from the start. A story where secrets, second chances and fate have something in store for these two characters that you won’t see coming. They are strong, connectable characters that I had no problem picturing myself in their world. This is a fast paced story where the characters growth and chemistry made the story easy to read. I really enjoyed this book and you don’t want to miss this one. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Lap Baby was my first book by Amy Q. Barker, but it won’t be my last. She has a way with words and intertwining stories that can’t be overlooked. It was of special interest that Lap Baby was inspired by a segment of a TV show. Lap Baby tells the stories of Julie, Paige, and Marie; survivors of a plane crash 20 years ago. The characters are so well developed that it was easy to follow each individual story as well as they connections to each other. The characters were easy to connect with and the story was captivating. Each of the women face challenges they need to work through rather than keep festering, but don’t realize that just surviving wasn’t enough. Lap Baby is an emotional read that will remind you that you never know what others are carrying.
This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. This is an author that writes with a lot of heart and soul. Her characters pop off the pages and into your world. This book is no different. This is a well written story where the author used details to make the story realistic. A fast paced, engaging story that is hard to put down. This is a romance story that has much going on in it. I felt that the author did a great job of not getting me confused with the characters. I enjoyed watching their growth and chemistry throughout the story. They add to the entertainment value of the story which makes it easy to read. This is a great romance story that I highly recommend

Walk Off is the first book wonderful Ground Rule series. This is a beautiful second chance romance story. I am a fan of Bree’s storytelling and the ease in which she comes up with amazing yet complex characters. This book is well written and is emotional and intense at times. The story flows nicely and making it a quick and easy read. The stories will keep you on your toes to see how things go and by the time you have finished you won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait to see what Bree comes up with next. This is Celia and Kyle’s story. They share a past one full of lies and pain. Now, after eight years both are back in in the same place. Celia has been keeping secrets now sharing those secrets could cost her the man she has always loved. Kyle still loves her, but can he forgive the one secret that blows him away.

3.5 stars Stalked by the Devil by Stacy-Deanne is another thriller story in the To Kiss a Stalker series where the MCs are BWWM. Stacy-Deanne’s stories are fast paced and this one is no different. It is full of suspense, intrigue, thrills and mayhem, crazy and a little darkness. Some things were a little predictable but overall, it was an interesting and enjoyable read. This will keep you on your toes at times. She is on a mission to prove that not all that glitters is gold. She will find the proof that the devil belongs in h*ll. But in her search for the truth will she find more than she bargained for. He’s rich, successful, and gorgeous He’s dangerous. He’s a guy who always gets what he wants, and he wants her. He is a stalker, an obsessed man. I wonder what is next from Stacy-Deanne.

I found this to be an interesting read. The rekindling of their romance brought on the newfound knowledge of their daughter. It was a nicely done second chance romance. I found the characters to be okay, a tad whiney but they were very relatable. The plot was fairly smooth and fast paced. This is a nice, quick read for those weekends spent in a quiet setting.

The Devil may come in any form, male or female. This story kept me in suspense as to who the true guilty party was. The characters run the gamut from sweet to sleazy and, man, I loved every one of them. The storyline had it’s moments but if you love romantic suspense, this is the one for you. Lovers of steam will be overjoyed at the touch of steam in this one also. Romance, suspense and drama abound. Will family and long awaited love win? This was such an interesting twist on werewolves, witches, and magic and I loved it!! The author spins this story around and it just catches you in it’s web. Twisted and stuck until you finish it. Like many books this one had me staying up a little extra just to finish it asap. A coven of witches twist magic to make a bond with a wolf coven. The wolves are now bonded to the moon and it’s phases and they don’t have a choice but to turn into a wolf with the moon. Rose, who is part of the wolf coven goes into the Dutchmen’s lands to steal the moonstone that binds both covens together to break the curse, but while she’s there she is under the watchful eye of not only the queen but also the prince. The queen is looking for a bride for the prince and not just anyone will do. She must be powerful and helpful to their responsibilities. He needs an heir and wife fast! Titan, the prince doesn’t want a wife, but he must do something. He is running out of time as his father slips away. His father, with the help of the moonstone is the current amplifier of the realm’s magic and it’s slowly poisoning him. Without the bond the realm’s magic will drop and the world with it will be in shambles. The prince must become the new holder for the gem, but he finds himself questioning everything. When the two of the meet something in them both changes. She’s attracted to his darkness and he’s not interested in his heart holding the realm together. Choosing their own paths might just be the end of them both. You need to check this book out! You will enjoy the twists and turns as much as I did. Plus the unique take on the supernatural world.
