Deadly Intentions is a deliciously erotica romance tale that lives up to its name. Anise Storm has magic fingers when it comes her writing. I love her work that I have read most of her books. It is raw, dark and gritty and it is a captivating read. The darker, the grittier the better I say. A dark mafia thriller romance gets the heart pumping. With enough danger and violence, secrets and lies, intrigue and darkness, angst and fear, intrigue to keep the pages turning. I did at times find there was repeated information as with the flashbacks then reiterating it again wasn’t necessary. Nazario is a character you will either love to hate or hate to love. He becomes quite a different man not someone likeable. His moods are like being on a rollercoaster. Just when you think you understand his actions he proves you wrong. Viviana was a strong and sassy woman but that all changed when she was around this man. She did surprise me though and didn’t see it coming. Revenge is sweet or is it?
Gwyn does it every time. She is one of my all-time reads I really love her work. The book title is a very apt title. Ruthless Hawke can be read as a stand-alone. It is more than just a contemporary romance tale. Ruthless Hawke is the first book in The Hawke Family Second Generation Series but can be read as a stand-alone. It is a contemporary romance story that is full of tension and angst, secrets and lies, fear and danger and so much more. I love the characters in the first series and now the second generation are taking over and are just as loveable and sexy. He is a man who will do anything to protect his family and what they have built. When his past turns up he is in shock at what he finds. But danger is nipping at their heels. Can he keep it all safe without losing a thing? I can’t wait for more.

K.G. has never written a story that I have not fell in love with and Shameless Love book 2 in the The Bennetts of Langston Falls is another one on the list. It is a standalone book that is sexy and steamy and full of tension and angst. K.G. is one of my must read authors which shows the strength of her writing skills because I am a fussy reader. Langston Falls is a beautiful small-town tale and feels like the kind of place you would want to go and never return from. He never meant for it to happen. He doesn’t do relationships. Until her. She loves the city and he loves the country. She loves the fast life and he likes it slow. They will never work. Right? Well you will have to read it to find out. I look forward to the next Bennett story.

An impatient little piggy cannot wait to go to pirate school like her big siblings. She eventually learns that good things come to those who wait. My 7 year old enjoyed reading this book out loud in her best pirate voice and was exposed to different words she does not encounter much to test out her skills of sounding things out.

I honestly just absolutely adore this author. She creates the most amazing stories and characters and picking up one of her books is always a pleasure. I loved the first book in this series and couldn’t wait to get my hands on the next, Walt’s story. and as I expected it didn’t disappoint at all. Walt and Elyse were such amazing characters and the chemistry between them was on fire! I really liked Elyse, she was such a string independent character and so genuine as well. Walt was a little grumpy but I think that definitely made him even more desirable especially once we finally got to know the real Walt! I loved the two of them together, they were just so perfect in my opinion. Another wonderful read from this author, it is the second book in this series but could be read as a standalone however I would recommend reading in order as they are both amazing reads!

Larkin, a member of the Royal Guard, met Aubrianne by chance years earlier and has not been able to stop thinking about her. He is eager to set out on new adventures and investigate the dealings of Lord Roger and see Aubrianne again. However, if she is implicated in Lord Roger’s treacherous acts she will be faced with the same punishment as Lord Roger. Death will the punishment for all those involved.
This book was beautifully written, and it was easy to become immersed in the story as it unfolded. You could feel yourself being swept back in time and see yourself in each scene. You could feel yourself bounce along on the back of the horse and hear the clip clopping of the horse’s hooves as they traveled along on the roads through ancient forests. You could feel the pain Lord Roger inflicted on Aubrianne and doled out to his servants. The characters, whether you loved them or hated them, were wonderful. Aubrianne is a woman to be admired for her strength and courage to get through the horrific abuse that she endured. Lord Roger is a cruel, cold, and heartless man that deserved to receive the same treatment that he dished out so easily to others. Larkin was kind, sweet, and patient and easy to find yourself drawn to. Wild Lavender is a historical romance that is packed full of action, suspense, mystery, intrigue, murder, and romance. A must read!

I’m so excited that this series has a Second Generation Series. The Hawke Series was one of my favorites. Especially the book about Stone. Which should tell you how excited I am that Ruthless Hawke is about none other than Stone’s son Issac. This author pulls you in, in so many ways it’s easy to get hooked. If this is the first time you’re stumbling across this series, you can definitely start with the Second Generation Series, you won’t be missing much. However if you want to understand the family as a whole better, you definitely want to go back and read the original Hawke Series. It’s also worth it to read. Issac is continuing what his father started with the family law firm. Fighting for what’s right, but also for his family as well. Family is everything for the Hawkes blood relation or not.(It could be why I’m drawn to these books. I’ve never had a close family like this.) But family is exactly what turns his world upside down. He’s readying for the fight of his life, and his family has shown him the way. Again I can’t even explain how much this series and world are an escape for me, that I love. It has everything. It’s sad, happy, funny, loving, ect. It’s so worth it and you will absolute not be disappointed!

The 45th Parallel is the sixth book in the Antipodes series. I would highly recommend starting at the first book in the series (Antipodes) and reading in order to get to know the large cast of characters and vast setting that has built up by this point in the series. The Antipodes series is post-apocalyptic, set after a virus has made most of the surface of the planet uninhabitable. The protagonists of this book, Caitlin and Seraphine, are part of the next generation after the disaster who were created to be immune, and therefore more able to survive on the surface of the planet. It is expected that they will both have children, passing on their immunity to the next generation. But neither of them is keen to settle down, they are easily bored and always in search of their next adventure. This is a fun continuation of the series! It’s good seeing the next generation of characters coming of age, with the older characters who were the focus of earlier books now viewed from a different angle. Cait and Sera are enjoyable characters – young and dissatisfied with the world they’re inheriting, but also caring for others and trying to make a positive impact. This book gets five stars from me. I’d definitely recommend this series to fans of post-apocalyptic sci-fi!

This is an emotional and inspirational story which is part truth and part fiction, as the blurb says, “this is the author’s own journey, told through a made-up world”. The storyline is about an introvert living in an extroverted world, and the main character, thirty eight year old Emily Parker still feels as awkward and anxious as she did at eighteen. However, as a young adult other people accepted this, and even reassured her that it was an expected part of growing up, and things would improve. For Emily though her insecurities have only gotten worse, and she now feels she has to hide her feelings and put on a fake smile for everyone. She has gotten used to making excuses and avoiding situations, but when this doesn’t work she then spends more time trying not to make a fool of herself, that she never actually enjoys herself. Emily is now familiar with her ‘inner critic’, the ever present and getting louder voice telling her she doesn’t fit in, and making her worry way too much. The author writes so honestly and sensitively about real issues that many women feel, that reading this book makes you feel like your not alone. It definitely took me on an emotional rollercoaster, but it was worth it for the uplifting message that comes across in the skilful writing.

I really enjoyed this second installment of The Bennetts series. The chemistry between Walt and Elyse was very good. I enjoyed his character and appreciated how he interacted with his sister. I loved the grump but secretly a teddy bear angle for Walt’s character. I think that is a relatable trait for many men. I can relate to that. It was a quick, enjoyable read and look forward to the next installment.

This book is amazing!! I love a good rock star genre book and this one did not disappoint. This book is really well written and it almost make you feel as if you are part of the stage crew. You will feel like a fly on the wall during some of the dialogue with the main characters. What could happen when the leading female is invited to open for the leading male character? The characters deal with real life issues and they lean on each other to overcome traumatic events that have happened in the past. There are twists and turns that I didn’t see coming in this book. That in mind it does have some steam but it also has a great story line that you will feel yourself getting worked up and emotional when they characters get emotional. This happens to be the 4th book in the series but each can be read as a stand alone. I have not read the others in this series but if they are written the way this one is, I will be reading them shortly. I love series that follow the characters and you get glimpses of the other characters in each book. It makes it feel like I am becoming friends with the characters. This book kept me turning the pages to see what was going to happen, was the last going to destroy what neither of the characters had saw coming which is falling in love. Does the leading female run when things get tough and the leading man get his heart broken or do they work together to figure things out. You will have to read this book to figure it out. This is the 4th book in the Balefire series and focuses on the last single member of the band Adam Tron and Cristy. This is a great read. I love the characters. They are both confident and playful characters on the surface but they both have secrets in their pasts which could make their HEA hard to reach. The author does a great job of creating the rock star world around them. The attraction between Adam and Cristy is instant and I love how they love to tease each other and how that teasing behaviour progresses into something deeper and meaningful.
Adam and the Balefire band are out on tour again. Their ready to rock every arena they perform in with the help of the lasted pop sensation Cristy. What Adam doesn’t expect is for Cristy to be the woman that rocks him to his core. Could the final member of the band finally find a woman wilder than him to tame him? He really wants her but he feels she is holding something back from him and he’s determined to find out what it is so they can be together.
Cristy’s career is going great so when she is offered the chance to perform alongside the biggest rock group she jumps at it. The fact that she is attracted to the bass player also helps. As they work together the feelings between them intensify and what she believed would be a fling while they are on tour turns into something more meaningful. But she has a problem. There is a part of her life she has kept secret from everyone and she wants to keep it that way. Will she be able to keep this secret from Adam? What’s the consequences if she does? My Inner Critic by Christine Bernard. If ever I could relate to a book its this one. I felt every word! This is a wonderful story of Emily who is 38 and never been married. She suffers from a high functioning form of anxiety. The anxiety effects every part of her life from work, to relationships to her own view of things. Emily feels like everyone is put above her in every facet of her life. With all of her friends getting married, having kids and settling down Emily feels like she’s been left behind. Blake is newly divorced and but eager to pick back up his friendship with Emily. Blake actually has developed feelings for Emily and keeps dropping subtle hints but of course she doesn’t see them. He loves Emily for herself and doesn’t care about her faults. Will Emily finally open her eyes to love and try to accept that some people truly love her. Read this fun book to find out!

This is the second book in this series which I enjoyed just as much if not more than the first. I highly suggest you read the first book as well to help your enhancement for this author. This is a well written story where the author used her writing skills to bring the story to life. The characters pull you into the story and kept me engaged to the end. This is a fast paced, hard to put down story. A story that will make you question if it is true that opposites attract. A story where the characters are relatable and have greaty growth as well as chemistry throughout the story. This is a hard to put down story that you don’t want to miss. I really enjoyed reading this story. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Shameless Love (The Bennetts of Langston Falls Book 2) by KG Fletcher. This book is by one of my favorite authors so I knew I would love it and it did not disappoint. Its the story of Walt a hard working, farm guy who has a hot temper and doesn’t ever want to leave the country. Elyse is a hard working city girl that doesn’t have time for relationships. When Elyse and Walt meet at a studio party the chemistry is off the charts. Throw in a snow storm and them getting stuck in a crazy snowstorm together all bets are off. He can’t stay away from her and she is the same. Will they be able to work out as a couple or are they so different that it will never work. This can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the 1st book to get a better feel of the characters! Awesome romance!

This is the first book in this new series for this author and what a great start it is. I can’t wait to see what is next in this series. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. A story that brings steam and romance to an engaging story. I enjoyed how the author used details to bring her story to life and made it realistic. The characters pull you into the story from the start. They are relatable and supportive of each other. They added so much to the story. They have great growth and chemistry throughout. This is a fast paced story that you don’t want to miss. I have enjoyed reading this author’s books and this one is no different. This is a must read story. Isaac and Jack’s story is fascinating and had me on the edge of my seat. Valentina made the story even more perfect. Watching Isaac grow through the story and getting to see familiar faces pop in make this one of my favorites. The Hawke family are one of my favorite series and the 2nd generation is just building on that. I loved the storyline. The characters were well-written and fit in to the story just right..Mafia romance has become one of my new favorite and this author is right up there at the top of my list. I love seeing the protagonist come out on top.

It’s time for Walt’s story. He’s a touch of grump with big loving, teddy bear. Reading how much he cares for his sister was so touching. He and Elyse are such a good couple as they work through their relationship. I found this story charming and it has it’s moments of drama (with a touch of steam). I love this series because the author has a way of writing that makes you feel like you are right there with them. Right from the beginning, you are welcomed right into the story and can’t put it down. It’s kind of like being part of their family. This is a family that is strong and just trying to do the right thing. Another winner for this author. One of my favorite series for the year. This will be going on my bookshelves.

While I did enjoy Shameless Love, my expectations were higher for this book after reading Teddy’s story in Faultless Love. In the first book, I was taken on an emotional roller coaster but in Shameless Love, I didn’t connect enough to get the emotional response I was hoping for. In Shameless Love, we are given Walt Bennett’s story and his rather rushed love of Elyse. Elyse is a producer for a food network with eyes on Walt’s sister to have her own show. When Walt and Elyse meet, it is love at first sight. While they are meant to be, I as a reader was wanting more drama between the two. It seemed too clean and straight forward with no actual plot between the main characters other than steamy moments between the sheets. As a reader, I wanted more engagement, but I never got beyond surface level for both Walt and Elyse. If I had read this as a standalone, I would have enjoyed it more but knowing the author is capable of pulling at my emotions left this book feeling a bit flat, although enjoyable.

I absolutely loved reading Tripp and Soleils story. Them both being attracted to each other without knowing that the other is, and the lengths he goes to to help her were amazing.
Tripp and Soleil have to overcome a few things in order to figure themselves out, and work towards each other, but once they do it’s like an explosion of amazingness.
I loved this story throughout the entire thing. Couldn’t put it down!!

100 authors were given the question, ‘what advice would you give to your younger self?’ The responses vary between writing techniques, goals, genre, reading, traditional and self-publishing, self-doubt, routines, ideas, practices, characters, editing, etc. My favourite section was by Rita Herron who said; ‘instead of writing one book of the heart, I tried to put heart in every book.’ However, I wasn’t particularly fond of the section by Ernest Dempsey. Either way, I recommend this book because it is a really useful read, and there’s such a variety of authors providing advice that it would suit all aspiring authors in one way or another. I’m going to start using these techniques straight away.

Shore Lodge is a wonderfully written Psychological Thriller that will grab your attention from the beginning and there’s no stopping until you finish. I found myself lost in the pages trying to figure out what was going to happen next. I had goosebumps and was on the edge of my seat throughout most of the story. This is a fairly new author to me and holy co I wasn’t prepared for what was hidden within these pages. Their style of writing along with characters that are relatable, fully developed, and raw with a slight edge made for one heck of a thrilling ride. Jacklyn is hit with grief after her husband’s death and is simply trying to get through each day. Her kids suggest a little getaway to a resort to help with her grief this is where the ultimate betrayal starts. Jacklyn finds herself fighting for her freedom while putting the pieces together. Will she get out or is she stuck there? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

This is book 6 in the antipodes series. It also stands well on it’s own. The journey of Caitlin and Seraphine is filled with danger, conflict and love as well as secrets that will be revealed. I appreciated the angst of becoming your own person while struggling to put the community first. It made the characters seem more alive on the page. The Exchange by Nadija Mujagic is the first book that I have read by this author. It popped up on my recommended book list and after seeing the cover and reading the blurb, I was intrigued. I picked up a copy and jumped right in. The premise promises a thrilling suspense, with a psychological edge, mystery, drama, twists, manipulation, intrigue, an ‘exchange/bargain gone wrong, and more. And for the most part it was a gripping read. But, I had anticipated being on the edge of my seat the whole way through- and that wasn’t the case here. It was definitely intriguing, and had some gripping, twisted moments- but I felt the story was much slower and more predictable than I had expected. I was hyped up for an intense read, so it fell a little short, for me. There were a few unexpected developments which were what kept me turning the pages to find out how it all played out in the end. I was a little frustrated throughout the story, as I really think this has so much more potential to be a stellar story, but just missed the mark. It didn’t help that I found the transitions to be quite abrupt, which disrupted the flow of the story (for me) as I had to ‘settle’ back into the groove every time. Sam Moves to L.A. looking for her big break- but the doors to success remained shut. So when she’s offered help to realise her dreams- she thinks things are finally looking up for her, then things take an interesting turn. A bargain is reached, an ‘exchange’ agreed upon. But things go a bit awry along the way. What happens? You’ll need to read all the dramatic developments for yourself… Happy Reading…

This was a really good novella. This is a new to me author but i thought the blurb sounded interesting. This was a good introduction to the series and it was only 50 pages so i read it in one setting. This ended in a cliffhanger but I don’t mind because I am looking forward to reading more and seeing where this series/story goes. I would recommend this to anyone that likes bully romances.
