This was a quick, fun read. It is the second story in the Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries series and I would recommend reading book number one first, because this one picks up not long after book one ended.. It was fast paced, funny and we go along with the main characters trying to help solve the mystery. I enjoyed this book and well written book. I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future. Happy Reading!

I just love how these characters are total opposite and not in the way we’re used to in a genre like this. The female isn’t your normal damsel in distress as she knows the lay of the land, literally. The fact that it’s not your normal “fairy tale” makes this an interesting story to keep up with. I don’t want to give too much away but it’s the best story I’ve read in a minute as it kept you guessing but in unexpected ways.

I absolutely love when books branch out from such a singular, heteronormative style. It’s fantastic to read books that are inclusive. My only complaint with this book was that it was too short!! I’d love to revisit the romances; this would be a great book to create a series! It was a quick entertaining foray into a romance oft not found in novels. Loved it.
The best thing about this is that it was the complete collection of the Hawke family so you could delve into it and immerse yourself in the world for a while. The characters are complex, distinct, and well developed. I didn’t want the series to end! Perfect for some winter break reading while by the fire. You will not want to put it down! Gwyn’s writing style is CAPTIVATING!!

The Hawke Family Complete Collection is a collection of six books that make up The Hawke Family series. My first book by this author was Savage Collison and the rest is pretty much history. I never hesitate to read whatever she writes. Her style of writing along with her creative characters make for one heck of a story. Each one is about a different family member and we get glimpses of other characters. Her stories have just the right amount of steamy scenes that will have you turning the pages to see what is going to happen next. Her characters are real, relatable and fully developed which makes it easy to fall in love with them that much easier. I highly recommend reading this Complete Collection by this amazing author. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

A Dowry of Snails and Mud was interesting. I wasn’t too sure what I was reading at first. It took some time to pique my interest, but once it did I appreciated what it was. The author wrote a beautiful story that starts off kind of slow(don’t let that deter you) but turns into something so much more. A very strong female lead that grows even so much more throughout. I struggled to get into it but once I was, I couldn’t put it down. So worth it. Rhia has been bartered to marry the King’s 6th son in hopes of the king forgiving her home for refusing to pay taxes on the land. Frustrated and treating it as the end of the world she does everything to make everyone miserable with her. Prince Emerys may be soft but he is no pushover. The push and pull between the two of them will be the end of Lians. Unfortunately dealing with the wildmen brings that potential to a screeching halt, but it could be just what they need. Now saying all that, I’m sure you’re curious. Why would I go to the trouble? Because this story and author deserve some recognition for what was presented in this book. Keep an open mind and jump in. If you struggle like I did at first trust me when I stay push forward because it’ll be worth it!

A Dowry of Snails and Mud was such a delightful read. Two completely opposite people are forced to marry a stranger for the sake of their families. One from a small poor community, and the other is the Kings youngest son. Can these two put aside their differences for the sake of their people or will everything fall apart? Brittany Tucker did an amazing job with the depth of these characters. Both had lessons to learn and both found strength when everything seemed lost. Both have a way with people and their differences kind of balance each other out. I look forward to reading more by this author. If you’re on the fence about the book, definitely give it a try.

Super cute book as always by this author. I have read quite a few, including others with these characters. My 6yo and I love them. Very imaginative with great characters. A fun read for any child!
Falling Home by Libby Kay is a heart-warming, second-chance love story. It follows small-town high-school sweethearts Ginny and Max years after their divorce and Ginnys subsequent move to the big city. Going home to help her Father through surgery, Ginny isn’t exactly excited about being home or the holidays but she’s less excited to run into her ex-husband Max. However, life isn’t predictable and neither is the heart – putting both Max and Ginny into real, relatable situations. I liked the characters and the story left me intrigued to read the next book in the series.

I loved this twist on a well known TV show format! I am a marriage of convenience trope fan and Abi and Finn’s adventure settled just in that perfect sweet spot! As a bonus, you have an Irish hero who is also a celebrity so you get that peek into the personal life of a famous star! I will be definitely be looking out for the other books in this series! Highly recommended!

I’m not sure why I picked this book because the cover art was of a chess board and I don’t really follow chess. I knew it had to have some kind of clowns in it from the title. I was intrigued by this one. I couldn’t put it down once I started. I had to keep reading to see what this girl was going to intel. Abbey goes to extensive ends to give you all you hope for in a book. If you scare easy by clowns I wouldn’t read this one.
I absolutely loved this collection. The collection includes all 6 books of the Hawke Family. The author gives just enough detail about each character that gives you the feeling that you are a close personal friend but not so much in depth that you get bored with the words. There is a lot of heat and spice throughout the entire series but also each book has an in-depth plot.
Savage Collision: This is the first book in the collection and focuses on the eldest son of the Hawke family, Savage. We are also introduced to the entire family in this book and get a good glimpse at different character personalities. I absolutely love Savages character development throughout this book, it is shown through each chapter how much he has grown. The romance is between Savage and his employee’s older sister Danika. Savage owns not only clubs, and restaurants but also a gentleman’s club, which makes Dani call him a “pussy peddler”. Dani is a journalist and is working on a big story that deals with the Mob and Mayor. Savage is a control freak who has lost a good bit of control in his life, which makes him even harder to deal with. Dani is also hardheaded and is definitely not looking for love. Will these two be able to even stand in the same room without going completely insane? This book is full of steam, suspense, and action, in addition to the romance.
Tortured Skye: This is the second book in the collection and focuses on Skye, the youngest daughter of the Hawke family. The romance with Skye also involves her brother’s best friend, Gabe. I absolutely loved Skye in the first book, and I fell in love with her even more in this book. While Skye is a little bitchy and hot headed, I feel she is really more misunderstood than anything. She lost her twin sister and that alone would give anyone major issues. Both of the fight their love and attraction for the longest time, but once they give in, the flood gates are open, and it gets hot and heavy quickly. Gabe is still quite reluctant to be in a relationship given it is a semi betrayal to his best friend Savage. The author shows us in this book that there is always something more going on with a person that what is shown on the outside. The journey Skye and Gabe take is a long winding road.
Stone Sober: This is the third book in the collection and focuses on Stone, the youngest Hawke in the family. This what absolutely nothing I expected it to be, but it was much better. This is my favorite story of the entire collection. There is a ton of twists and turns in this book that will have your heart racing and fist clenching. The storyline is a little darker than the others which I loved. Stone has just returned home and is on edge, he has a secret that he has been keeping that only one other person knows about. This secret could set him completely down the wrong path, moreso than it already has done. Nora, is an amazing smart young woman who is also an employee of his brother Savage’s gentlemen’s club. Absolutely no one knows her reasoning for giving up her doctor career to become a stripper, besides that it is more freeing. This story is hot, dark and full of secrets.
Building Storm: This is the fourth book in the collection and follows the oldest sister, Storm. I ended up so wrapped up in this story that I read it completely in one sitting. In this story, you will definitely feel every emotion possible. The author has written it perfectly for you to feel all of the sorrow, the anger and the lust. There were parts where I felt like my heart actually broke from the way Storm was feeling. From the other books we know that Storm has a daughter and was married, but now we get to see how Storm is putting her life back together. She definitely wasn’t looking for love, but it found her anyway. Landon is from Chicago and ends up in New Orleans after trying to run from his problems. They are both broken, but in different ways and they hope to heal each other. Do you think Storm is ready for a happy ending, or are they both two broken to be fixed?
Tainted Saint: This is the fifth book in the collection and focuses on Caroline and Saint. Caroline, we met back in book one, she is Danika’s best friend, and a friend of the Hawke women. She is fun, feisty, and adventurous. She has her eyes set on a new bouncer of one of the clubs, Saint. This story is smoking hot with so many different twists. One of my favorite aspects of this book is that Caroline is not the type of woman that takes orders very well, like Saint is used to. I felt there was not a lot of the same depth in this story but loved it, nonetheless.
Steele Resolve This is book six in the collection and is a M/M romance that follows Byron and Steele. We met Byron in the first book, he is the manager of the gentlemen’s club that Savage Hawke owns. This is a forbidden romance, and enemies to lover’s trope. You can’t help but to love Byron, he is sweet, funny, and loyal. This book is full of high-strung emotion. Steele is Mr. Right but also oh so wrong for Byron. Steele is the enemy, and how is Byron going to choose between his heart and his family?

There’s a wedding in the village and Rhiannon’s not happy about it. Actually, no one really is! Due to some poor mismanagement of his territory, Mr. Caddell is having to marry his daughter off to the King’s son. One would think that this would be a fantastic arrangement, especially for Rhia, but the King has six sons and she’s to marry the sixth…a rogue named Emerys.
Rhia and Emerys know nothing about each other before exchanging “I do’s” and it doesn’t seem like they are going to get to know each other if Rhia has anything to say about it. She’s doing everything she can to push Emerys away, not realizing that he feels the same as she does about many things.
Can they overcome these differences and save the land from the King’s clutches?
I loved this read! It’s a bit of a rom-com with a medieval twist. There are several very funny expressions and the way that Rhia acts…well I found myself giggling. She’s very independent and strong willed! The story kept me engaged the entire time.

This was a really good read! I was pleasantly surprised by this one, and it kept me entertained throughout reading it. I loved Rhia’s attitude, humor, and just general self. I giggled several times just from her internal thoughts about the royals. For a book that has somewhat of a mystery surrounding it and some turmoil with the king outlying people, it had a happy ending! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would definitely read more from this author in the future!

I love second chance romance stories and this one was right up my alley! I really enjoyed the author’s easy writing style. The story reads from Ginny and Max’s point of view. He is a patient loving guy and wants nothing but happiness for Ginny. She just want to chase her dreams. When she has to come back home to help her father she starts to question what her dreams really are. Would walking away from her life in the city really make her happy or resent Max forever? This story is such a sweet read and you really will fall in with Buckeye Falls. I am looking forward to reading more from this author and more about this small town!

Coming from enemy mafias, Dominic and Emelia should not feel an attraction to each other, but they do. Aside from being forbidden, they should also stay away from each other because Dominic’s cousin has been kidnapped by Emelia’s father and Dominic has taken Emelia until his cousin is released. The biggest problem, though, is they just can’t stay away from each other. Opinion I’m a huge fan of Via Mari’s mafia books. While they offer some gore, they are much more about relationships, and not just between the man and woman but between family members as well. Just reading through them can almost make you envious of the support the families have. This book was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the fact that Dominic and Emeila are from rival mafia’s. That is not necessarily something I expect in a mafia romance book.

I loved this book! A light and feel-good story. Ginny returns to her small home town of Buckeye Falls, OH, after living in New York City for 2 years. Even though she came home to take care of her father who was having hip surgery, Ginny agrees to work with her ex-husband, Max, to plan the town’s holiday Jubilee. The characters in this story feel genuine to me – they go to work, they need hip replacements, they grocery shop – all things that make them more relatable. I enjoyed the characters’ interactions with one another. Just as the characters feel genuine, so do their interactions. I couldn’t wait to keep reading until the end!

This was definitely a cozy book to read during the Christmas season. A lot of people use this time to learn how to love again and get back in the Christmas spirit. Max still lives in Buckeye Falls, Ohio, and misses his Ex-Wife, Ginny. She comes back to visit her Dad after he had surgery. This became Max’s moment to get her back. He tries to win her over with Quesadillas and Christmas spirit. Ginny wanted nothing to do with Christmas, but was ringed into helping the town this year, and with Max. It was definitely a cute romance! 🙂

A Dowry of Snails and Mud is a YA enemies to lovers medieval Rom-Com. This is Brittany’s debut novel which is a little crazy, a lot quirky and the humour had me laughing out loud at times. At a stalemate over money the Mayor and King decide an arranged marriage will solve their problems. The married couple are to con the other to get the money. This historical romance stars sassy 16-year-old, Rhia who soon finds herself in an arranged marriage to help the town. Her marriage to her sick and useless husband is to ensure the greedy King gets what he wants from the town. Along the way Rhia finds that there is more to her husband and they find that working together to break down stereo typical thinking between classes that there is a better way for all. Brittany’s writing makes the story flow easily and the adventure fun. There are characters that you will like and others not so much like the sourpuss Winnie. If you love YA rom coms then you will love A Dowry of Snails and Mud.

Dahlia will forever be one of my favorite characters from a series as amazing as this! 🙂 We are at the final book and man, what an amazing ending! So much has happened with the other 4 books, and so much was added to this one book alone. Half of her team went to another world to retrieve Creed’s brother, as well as tackle what they can. While they are there, the apocalypse happens on Earth. Dahlia struggles with the dragon in her heart, I will always remember this series, and might even binge listen again! 🙂

I went into this book not knowing what to expect. I picked it because the premise seemed promising, but then I never read anything quite like this – Historical Fiction with queens and kings and dowries. But I thought I would give it a chance. I am so glad I did. Within the first few chapters I was hooked. I loved everything about this – the small village that is always under attack, the prince who is being punished by his father and set up to fail. A girl who wants all her problems to go away but she has been promised for marriage. Add to that snails and a good sense of humor and this is definitely a must read. I did not want to put it down. I definitely hope that there is going to be a sequel to this because I truly grew attached to the characters. I truly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fun read!

I am a sucker for a good young adult romance and historical romances and this one combines the best of both worlds! I have not read any books by this author before and was very happy with the way the story was written. I felt as though I was on the journey with the characters and not just reading words off of a page. I found myself not wanting to work but I was wanting to read and see what was going to happen next! I cannot wait to read more books by this author and tell all of my friends that read as much as I do to read it as well!

This book turned out to be so much embittered than I was expecting. Historical romances I find hard to really fully connect with the characters because their journeys feel so far removed from me and yet this one I had no issues with at all. I thought the main character was so well written. It was easy to tmsee things from her perspective and really become invested in what was happening with her. The story itself was well thought out and had such great detail to it. I really became absorbed in the storyline and enjoyed how the author had written it. This is my first unexpected read of the year and I am excited to discover more of her work.

This was such a sweet book. It was enjoyable, sweet, and whimsical. Ginny Myer goes to her hometown in Buckeye Falls, Ohio. Her father is having surgery, so she is going home to take care of him. I loved this book so much!! Everything about it appealed to me from the inner dialogue to the quirky sayings to the overall story. One time she said fart in a jam jar, and I laughed so hard at that! Rhiannon Caddell or Rhia as she is known is the main character. She is to marry the crown prince of Wales, Emerys. She is quite determined to not like him and to make his life miserable – not unreasonable when you are forced to marry someone. She discovers that maybe he isn’t too bad overall. He might even be able to help her land and people with the money they owe and with the wild men who attack them. I loved every second of this book and highly recommend it!

The narrator/main character of this story gives me Sherlock Holmes/Nancy Drew vibes. She’s drawn to questions and puzzles and puts herself in situations she shouldn’t by sheer stubborn will. Jessa travels with her aunt to a town called Milburn after her aunt receives a letter requesting help from a friend. In Milburn, near the Crossing, the Dyott Mill seems to be smothered in secrets and mysteries and it will take everything Jessa has, including what she’s scared of to solve the investigation and hopefully save the life of a few people.

Fun, quick and easy read for me. It felt like a cozy mystery with a few ghosts thrown in, which makes total sense with Elinor being a Ghost Talker. Being a visual person, I enjoyed picturing each and every scene. This is the second part of a six-part novella, and I read it first for one reason only; I wanted to see if it truly stood alone. In my opinion, it does. I would even feel comfortable suggesting this book to my 16-year-old granddaughter.

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. The author is one of my favorites this year. Falling Home had me hooked and it was very hard to put down. Falling Home is the first book in A Buckeye Falls Series. It is definitely worth a read.
Ginny hasn’t been home since she divorced her ex husband. When her dad is due to have surgery she goes back to her hometown to take care of him. She doesn’t plan on seeing her ex while she’s in town, but it’s a small town. What will happen when she finds the attraction is still there? The quote I chose for Ginny is: “You are all I’ve ever wanted, Max. I am sorry it took me this long to realize that.”
Max has been in the same town for the last two years. He stayed when he wanted to run. His father in law was part of the reason while the other was the diner. He hears his ex is back in town and wants nothing more than to see her. Can he get her back or will he be heartbroken again? The quote I chose for Max is: “I think you’re going to leave again. I think you’re not coming back from New York this time; at least not in a capacity to see me. I think I’m tired of always being the one left behind, so excuse me if I don’t want to prolong the inevitable. It is brutal being taken for granted like this.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

Let’s talk about earthquakes. That is the storyline for this book. Caspian and cousin Belinda are at the table eating breakfast. When Belinda asks her grandfather for her own magic wand. That’s about where everything changes for Caspian and his family. Will the magic wand help in an earthquake? Does Belinda get a magic wand? Reading this story is the only way to find out. I have grown to love this author. Her children’s stories are not only fun to read but they are interactive as well. The characters are full of adventure and that opens the door for our children to ask questions. What a fun story to read. I hope you enjoy this story as much as my kid did.

So I was spoilt with not but 6 books in 1 ❣️📕 how did I do it , well it’s like eating an elephant , bit for bit 🤭😂 what an absolute treat this was !!
SAVAGE COLLISION
When Danika storms into Savage’s office I brace myself but this girl is afraid of nothing and I wasn’t sure who was more entertained me or Savage😉
There is not a scared hair on Danika’s head and as an investigative reporter that serves her well but it also gets her into a rather precarious position and thank all that is good that Savage and Gabe are around but for every action there’s a reaction and it adds a lot of suspense to the tension between Danika and Savage 😱nail biting , riveting and absolute brilliance !
Savage has issues and demons of his own as does Gabe but these 2 friends are lifers and watching them deal with their issues was a gift , a privelage and it made them human 🤗 I just love these guys and I know I shouldn’t have favorites but Savage you’re it for me 😉🥰
TORTURED SKYE
I don’t blame Skye for kissing Gabe ! If it wasn’t for Savage owning my heart I’d have been all over Gabe like a bad rash 🤭 but this can only get complicated 🙈bring it on 😉
Both Skye and Gabe have had some serious pain and loss and those scars stay behind but these 2 are pure perfection together and HOT 🥰🔥
I must say these 2 have had me on the edge of my seat and emotionally rather drained but it was oh so worth it 😉❣️📕
STONE SOBER
How hot is this cover !?! I nearly self combusted and I hadn’t even started reading 🥰😂🔥🤭
Stone is that every man hates and every woman wants ! Good grief I think he could make a nun denounce her vows #truestory#
Now Nora may be a dancer in the club but there’s a purity and an innocence to her that Stone finds appealing and let me say she’s one lucky girl to have attracted his attention 🫶🏼
This series is like aging red wine each one is better than the previous one and I just so invested in these Hawke boys!
I laughed , I cried , ok I sobbed and just remember secrets always have a way of coming out .
This was beautifully twisted and I loved every single moment ❣️📕
BUILDING STORM
Storm and Landon ripped my heart out !
Storm is an exceptionally strong woman to have survived all that she has and not be swallowed by sadness and bitterness blows my mind !
Landon is hurting and dealing with things and I think that’s what helps him be more empathetic to Storm and he draws from himself to help get heal
When these 2 got together I was panicking , I thought this was going to be a recipe for disaster but these 2 are just pure perfection and they had be all hot and bothered most of the time but there were moments where I didn’t think I had any more tears left , this Hawke family is going to be the end of me yet 🥰
TAINTED SAINT
Caroline and Saint had me all over the place if I must be honest and I’m not sure if it’s because I’m so emotional over the Hawkes that I’m sensitive but I just want peace and serenity for these people and we’ve journeyed together now ,, they feel more like family than friends 🥰
Saint may be a BIG man but he’s a real old softy don’t let his size fool you and Caroline is all bark and no bite and these 2 are soooooo good together 🥰
STEELE RESOLVE
I met the Abellos a long time ago , like 5 books back and they’re not the type I would want to cross but everyone no matter how strong or mean or cruel they seem have a soft spot somewhere , we all have an Achilles, even the Abellos 😉 Luca show us the softer side of his family
This was a different read to the others to a degree , yes it did make me feel a little uncomfortable but that doesn’t take anything away from the pure brilliance of this series in actual fact it shows the diversity of the author and that right there already earns 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Byron managed the club and his “ affiliation “ with Luca had me on edge , there’s so much at risk and I was on the edge of my seat , yet again 😱😂
I didn’t want the series to end but the saying all good things come to an end and I may have got to the last page but the Hawkes will always be in my heart !
