Never judge a book by its length. This audiobook may have been the shortest one that I’ve ever listened to, but it ranks as one of my top favorites. It has steam, hijinks and adventure in what is an amazing depiction of what happens ‘after’. I cannot wait to pick up the next book in the series. If you are a fan of the hippie movement and want to see a flower child stumble through what seems to be an amazing afterlife, grab this book, put on your headphones, and settle in!

Desperately Seeking Sixty Nine (The Green Room Chronicles, Book One) AUDIO BOOK by J.D. Frettier

What a fun and quirky book. I’m asking myself why I haven’t been listening to more books before now. I don’t honestly have an answer. This one had me chuckling and shaking my head a lot. I really enjoyed listening and Bonnie is something else. She meets and falls in love with Peter Hampton in 1969. But she dies one after having hot sex with her husband now finds herself in the “green room”. The Green Room is not really hell and certainly not heaven. She finds herself having a hard time coming to terms about leaving her soul mate behind. Find out if she gets her HEA in the afterworld. You guys this is a must read/listen which ever you prefer. But you won’t be disappointed either way.

Linda Gets Her Groove Thing (The Green Room Chronicles, Book Two) AUDIO BOOK by J.D. Frettier – Review by Piper Foster

The Green Room I want to go there when I die. I have noticed one similarity in book audios. These women like a bit of action right. It has dreams any woman would want for their bodies. I loved that we are back with Bonnie and Dee these ladies help Linda’s transaction. For all the fun and giggles you’ve got to listen to this funny sexy story. I don’t want to ruin anything for you.

Desperately Seeking Sixty Nine (The Green Room Chronicles, Book One) AUDIO BOOK by J.D. Frettier was a funny and cute listen! I love Bonnie, she is really funny and relatable. I was hooked from the start, I did not know what to expect but the dialogue was golden. I loved the pace and how even it was a short book it still felt fully developed. Frettier writes such a fun story and I loved continuing this series in print and in audio. The narrator does a fantastic job conveying Linda’s emotion and diving into each scenario. Not meant for listening around innocent ears. But what a hilariously fun read and listen. Many laugh worthy moments!

Desperately Seeking Sixty Nine (The Green Room Chronicles, Book One) AUDIO BOOK by J.D. Frettier – Review by Liz Vrchota

I know what you are thinking this book is about… that cover and title really draws your attention right away. I had never read/listened to anything from JD Frettier before so I had no idea what to expect. JD Frettier, you are a clever mind! I adored this fast ride to the afterlife. At just under fifty pages we get a big story in a small package that makes you feel the gambit of emotions.

In Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine you have the story of Bonnie McMillan. In the summer of 1969 bonne and her husband met at the infamous Woodstock. A life of hippie style love and sex, is what they have lived for a wonderful forty-seven years. All of that is changed and ripped away in one night of raunchy fun together. Bonnie finds herself in what they call ‘the green room’. She embarks on a mission to reinvent herself and find a way back to ‘sixty-nine’. What a journey it is too! I can’t wait to see what will come next in the second book in the series.

Linda Gets Her Groove Thing is the second book in The Green Room Chronicles  by JD Frettier. This series cracks me up. The short stories are fun to listen to and they make me hope there is a Green Room after death. This book can be listened to as a standalone but you really don’t want to miss the first book because they are both five stars for me. This story had me laughing out loud and I love when books do that.

Hollie Jackson did a great job narrating this book. Her voice and inflection is easy to listen to . She really brings the characters to life.

This is definitely an 18+ book. I can’t wait to read more from this author. Highly recommend.

OMG!!! What did I just listen to???

J D Frettier has one extraordinary imagination. Desperately seeking sixty-nine is one hour and 15 minutes of HILARIOUSLY thought out content of WHAT COULD BE……

Have you ever wondered what Limbo (purgatory) will be like? Well in this extremely funny book you’ll take a trip with the eccentric Bonnie McMillan to find just that out!!! You won’t regret it!!!

Only reason for the 4 stars is that I wish it could have been longer.

Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine is the first book in the Green Room Chronicles by J.D. Frettier. This is the first book I have listened to by this author, and I have to say it is the most unique book I have every read. This rom-com is full of steamy situations and hilarious recollections. We meet Bonnie McMillan as she is passing into the afterlife. Her best friend, Dee, who passed away years earlier is there to help her with the transition to life in “The Green Room”. This short story had me hooked from the very first page. The witty dialog and funny but sensitive topics discussed had me thinking, I hope it is truly like this after I pass. I can’t wait to listen to the next story in this series, I hope it continues in the truly entertaining vein.

This is the first book I have listened to narrated by Hollie Jackson. I loved it she really brought the characters to life. Her voice was smooth and easy to listen to.

This is the second story in The Green Room Chronicles.  I am loving this series so far!  Poor Linda.  After her husband dies, she learns of his cheating ways.  Not to mention, she was ready to retire and now she cannot financially afford to do that.  On her way to Paris, Linda dies and ends up in The Green Room.  There she meets Bonnie and Dee, a couple of seasoned veterans from The Green Room.  Let the fun begin!

What a hoot!  This story was so funny and keeps you completely engaged.  In 1969, at Woodstock, Bonnie hooks up with Peter Hampton.  Years later, Bonnie dies after some incredibly hot sex with her husband and ends up in Purgatory, or the Green Room, as the story calls it.  Bonnie meets up with her best friend and together they go on a wild journey as Bonnie tries to reconnect with her one true love.  This is the best hour you will spend listening to a great book!

Ok, so going in to this book I had absolutely no idea what I was in for, I kind of got the idea it was going to be paranormal kind of read with a twist and I was right! Paranormal with a humorous twist. I’m a bit weird about the ‘after life’ so wasn’t sure if I would enjoy it but I have to say the book was such fun. It was only short (around 1 and ½ hours listening time) but that didn’t mean the story was lacking. The pace was fast, the writing good and I really enjoyed the characters. I certainly laughed out loud at some parts in the story. I thought that narration was really good, it was easy to listen to.

Bonnie has let go. As Bonnie is in purogtray or is that where she is. This is a lovely listen and very upbeat despite the topics. There alot of humor in this short listen which makes you smile or roll over the floor laughing depending on your sense of humor. All these characters are very well written and you can feel yourself in there shoes. Warning don’t listen around children or you may find yourself embarrassed. Flirty Dancing: A Spicy Romantic Comedy About the Afterlife (The Green Room Chronicles Book 3) By J.D. Frettier – Review by Natalie Hanley

Flirty DancingFlirty Dancing by J.D. Frettier
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Flirty Dancing is the third book I have read in the Green Room Chronicles series and I think this was my favourite. Once again, we are quickly thrust into the thrilling world of the afterlife and we reacquaint ourselves with Bonnie, Dee and Linda, while being introduced to our new lead character of Kitty – a 20 something mother who has met an abrupt end while pole dancing. It has a slightly different feel to the previous two books as the lead character was in the prime of her life and felt like this was a premature death. I love the support she gets from the terrible trio.
As with the previous novels, the characters were entertaining and colourful and their adventures were spicy and fun. I enjoyed this as it was a no-hassle, short read for an evening after a long day at work. It is pure escapism and a little bit of naughty fun thrown in.

Nice quick read. The story is heartbreaking but sweet and a little sexy. Poor Kitty is at a loss when she dies in a freak accident in her pole dancing studio. She has to leave her kids and husband behind, but that just doesn’t sit well with her. Upon entering the green room or Purgatory, she meets some ladies that end up becoming some very true friends to her, as well as being all the help she needs to fulfill her dreams of seeing her kids grow and to have precious moments with her husband. Milly and Gilly are the ghostologist and scientist that work to make it possible for Kitty to spend a sexy night with her husband, and it is so beautiful how all these people flock to her and help provide exactly what she needs or the guidance she needs to live in the green room and thrive.

This book was funny, I really enjoyed all the characters that played a part in creating this “green room”. It is sad how we come to learn how all of them die but the way they make light of their situations makes their personalities shine through and tells how great they are. This is my first book by this author but after reading Flirty Dancing, I am eager to check out the other books in this series. I recommend this book, it is a great read if you are looking for something short and sweet and also a little crazy.

Although this could easily be read as a stand alone, to enjoy the most fun and laughter from this novella, I suggest reading the series. Although most people have probably wondered if they will go to heaven or hell when they die, no one considers a third option. That is exactly what the Green Room is. In book three, we meet Kitty Eatin in the after-life. As her new friends fill her in on some of the important things to know in this purgatory like revenge jobs, champagne with absinthe and Dr. Draper, Kitty is determined to reconnect with the love of her life with the help of a ghostologist, scientist, and the technology in The Green Room.

I was so excited when I found out that book 3 in this series came out. I read the first two books in this series and loved them, it is also my suggestion that you read these books in order so that you have more back story to all the characters that return in each book. In this story we get to meet Kitty who is a young woman who left behind her children and second husband. This story is funny, quirky, steamy and all of the wonderful attributes that the other stories had as well. This is a short read full of wonderful characters, emotion, and I found it to be very entertaining and it pulled me right in from the start. I highly recommend this book.

Flirty Dancing: A Spicy Romantic Comedy About the Afterlife (The Green Room Chronicles Book 3) by J.D. Frettier is a hilarious and feisty story of the hereafter. Each story within the series add more and someone new; each character that is added brings something unique to their story. I find the author’s spin on the afterlife enlightening, fun, and downright outrageous in just the right ways. Flirty Dancing is the best yet, in my opinion, with Kitty’s story. Her untimely death came with after effects she’s not prepared to acknowledge and accept. I enjoyed reading how this continued and where Kitty finally ends or begins. What a great short story and a great addition to the series.

A powerful afterlife romance, is what you will find in this short story. With also a cup of friendship, to carry you to the end. This book can be a standalone. But you must read this series in order to be current in this storyline.

Kitty Eating was a stripping pole dancer. She is also a wife and mother of 2. When she passes away. This is her story of the afterlife and the friends she meets along the way. In the fabulous Green Room.

JD Frettier has written this comedy with class. Her spicy romance is not only funny, but shows respect to the afterlife. So much so, I feel maybe heaven could be fun. Therefore I love this series. It fun and funny. Her characters are people we run around with daily. I just felt I knew Kitty, and all of her Green Room buddies. I am waiting for book 4 JD Frettier! Job well done!!

A great read about love. Kitty is a dancer who dies after a pole dancing accident. Landing in the Green Room , she is confused and disoriented. Despite making new friends, all she wants is her Sam who is the man of dreams and her two children. Kitty is not one to give up even from the other side. Can even death desperate a family?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns well developed characters like Kitty determined and fiercely in love or Sam as funny and devoted. Great cast of supporting characters like the sweet Cassie or the supportive BB.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like in the vast luxury of Kitty’s green room with its ornate style but also plain with the green towels. Or Gilly’s house with its gothic style house and gates and spiderwebs for a sense of unease but still comedic
wonderfully written. Or the strip club later on full of life and people and music
Once again, a wonderful interpretation of the afterlife bright and colourful with green instead of the usual white. I also liked Kitty’s summaries as she explains the rules of this world to herself and the audience aswell. Also loved the further world building on this sequel with the stopping time or Gilly and the metaphysicist adding more magic and wonder to this wonderful world. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.
