There was also hot vivid steamy scenes my oh my it got me all hot under the collar. This is a fun, short read. Bonnie suddenly dies and leaves her husband of forty plus years alone. Her best friend Dee meets her and whisks her away to the Green Room. It is like a sexy purgatory. Bonnie realizes that she left her sex toys from the likes of lovegasm and more out before she died. In a panic, she pleads with Dee that she needs to contact Peter to tell him to put them away before their children find them. Comical shenanigans ensue that will have you laughing out loud. There is a lot of peace and love and sex. The Green Room sounds like a place I’d like to go to after I die.

A great read about life. When Bonnie dies, she is sent to the Green Room, a version of the afterlife. But when she gets there, all she wants to do is be with her beloved husband Peter who is still alive on Earth. Desperate to be with him, she tries everything. Is their love deep enough to even bridge the afterlife?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like the grief stricken Peter or the independent Bonnie. Great cast of supporting characters like the fun loving Dee or the strict and bossy Dharma. The only issue I would raise is that Bonnie was repeatedly said to be a fun loving free spirit, but in the afterlife this didn’t come across
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel wit the continued use of green bright and colourful instead of the whites heaven usually is, refreshing as a sign of hope in the afterlife. I also liked the garden, as a source of peace and tranquillity with tis grass and benches and fountains.
A different take on the afterlife that was refreshing with old friends and jokes making it feel more believable than other versions and the puns with the names was a great touch.
The memories of the past worked well to display how the love between Peter and Bonnie began and how it grew over time and didn’t disrupt from the narrative of the present. I also liked how the novel started straight into the action, grabbing the readers attention with the hospital scenes. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.

Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine: A Spicy Romantic Comedy About the Afterlife by J.D. Frettier is the first book in The Green Room series. I was not sure what to expect with this book when I saw the cover and title but was pleasantly surprised. This is a short, fun, and humorous read. Bonnie has passed away and is greeted by her friend, Dee, to the Green Room. She teaches her the ropes and this allows Bonnie all sorts of abilities. I really enjoyed the interactions between Bonnie and her husband. I really wanted them to find each other again.
The characters are fun and written well. The story is short but it works and doesn’t over do the story by dragging it out. It was written with an open ending to allow for continuation of the story. I look forward to more from JD Frettier in the future.

5-stars

Immortal Desires Anthology is a compilation of stories featuring paranormal magical creatures. Romance is a common theme. There are several excellently written stories in this collection. I had a hard time picking a favorite but I definitely think that the Dragon And The Vampire was it. I could not stop reading these and I can definitely see myself rereading many of these. They all seemed to flow easily and kept my attention. Some were steamy while others were hilarious. I highly recommend this anthology!

This collection was completely awesome…Im not normally a major paranormal fan but this collection had some authors that I have read before and absolutely loved. By taking a chance on this I now have added to this list and have new authors that I must read more from. I must also mention that the fact that the proceeds from this box set benefit The American Cancer Society was the first reason I grabbed it and Im thankful I did because I sincerely enjoyed it.

Some of the stories I truly wish had been longer but many of them are part of a series so I can solve that by grabbing those. One of many of my favorites of the whole collection is Flirty Dancing by Jennifer Theriot…I’ve read the few before that story and if your curious at all read them, although I can see Flirty being read as a standalone..you would get much more enjoyment if you had all the back stories from the other characters in this story. It’s a fun read yet also has those times that make you sad and find yourself feeling the feelings that Kitty was feeling and I loved that the author could do this.

Another of my favorites was On The Run by Casey Hagen…This one grabbed me in the first chapter and I was laughing out loud through most of it…I have already bookmarked this author’s other books as her writing style was amazing.

I wish I could write full reviews of all of the stories but that would take me way too long so I will just stop here and say you must pick this collection, for many reasons, but one of the main is these are all 5 star authors and even though I’m not normally a paranormal fan…these stories had me totally wrapped.

Loved it!

Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine (The Green Room Chronicles #1)Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine by J.D. Frettier
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine is the first installment in The Green Room Chronicles by J.D. Frettier. The Green Room Chronicles are a collection of novellas set in the afterlife. The Green Room is a place where you go until it’s decided if you’re going to heaven or hell.
The title of this novella can be slightly deceiving. Those of us with a dirty mind may assume what this story will be about, whereas in-fact the sixty-nine refers to the year 1969 when the heroine of our story Bonnie first met the love of her life, Peter.
However, if you are of a dirty mind and looking for something a bit racy then this story will fit the bill. While in the Green Room, Bonnie has several flash backs to sexy times with her husband and also ‘visits’ him to keep their passion alive.
While very short, at only 45 pages, there is a lot packed into this novella. I already have books 2 & 3 on my kindle waiting for me to see what J.D. Frettier has in store next for those in the afterlife. Well worth reading!

Linda Gets Her Groove Thing is the second book in The Green Room Chronicles series by J.D Frettier. This is a paranormal fantasy, with plenty of laughs along the way. It is funny, cheeky, and entirely entertaining! There story has some supernatural elements, magic, karma, revenge, friendship, body enhancements, and some spice- in this witty romp.
Linda White had her whole world crumble out from under her. All her dreams lay tattered. Her husband cheated on her, left her financially ruined, and then up and died on her before she could get a little revenge. She finds some herself relying on some battery operated stress relief, and had something special in mind for a long haul trip overseas. But, the company has a little mix up and Linda doesn’t get what she wanted. She has a bit of a conniption and ends up in the Green Room. There she meets Dee and Bonnie (Book #1), and hilarity ensues!
As with the first book, the storyline is very original, clever, and quirky. The characters are quite endearing and quirky.
Another light-hearted, fun, and slightly tongue-in-cheek look at the afterlife!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

JD Frettier gave us side-splitting laughs with her first installment in The Green Room Chronicles Book #1, Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine. One again, Frettier delivers the hilarious scenes and romance fit to take you on one crazy trip to the ‘green room’. This is sort of like the equivalent to “purgatory”. I won’t lie, I kind of want to make a stop at the Green Room when I go. Between the upgrade options available for the body, the spa, quirky counselors to encourage all ideas (good and bad), and a team of ladies ready to be the besties to stand behind you while you exact that last plan of revenge from beginning to end. Yeah, I want to go!

Linda White never figured she would be where she is. She had just reached her middle point in life with all the financial security she could have ever asked for. Until her two-faced husband not only dies but his death reveals he had been leading a life of cheating behind her back, but they are buried in debt up to their ears. Couldn’t be worse right? Well…

Let’s just say Linda finds herself in the Green room. It isn’t long before the women there hear her story and a plan is hatched to get some much deserved revenge. Setting the scene for a lot of laughter and maybe even a few tears. I found myself reading this rather quickly and being super absorbed within the storyline from the very first page. I am highly anticipating the next adventure to come from the Green Room! Thanks so much JD Frettier!!

This was as much fun to read as the 1st one, you gotta go in with an open mind and appreciate everything about these little gems. This author is awesome!!! You can tell she puts a lot of thought into these stories, little details that make them worth every page you read.

Dee absolutely cracks me up and I’m hoping somewhere along this fun ride we will get her story in a bit more detail. Not sure where we are going next in this series but I know I’ll be one of the first in line, they are just too much fun to read.

Many thanks to this author once again.

I said it before and I’ll say it again, I want purgatory to be like the green room! To me it sounds more like heaven than an “in between” place. Where do i sign up!

I loved the first book and absolutely loved this one as well. Linda has finally reached “middle aged” and she finds out that her lying, cheating, ex husband has stripped her of MANY things. Then she dies and now she’s in the green room and the ladies are all for handing out Karma. Ugh, I absolutely LOVE these ladies!

I’m seriously dying to see what is in store next. This needs to be on everyone’s must read list!

Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine by JD Frettier and book 1 of the Green Room Chronicles. It was a short, quick read. I thought the book was well written.

The book is about the day Bonnie Hampton dies and the months after. She is quickly shown there is life after death but, she misses her husband Peter more then anything. She watches over him and protects him when she can.
I thought this book was a very good read.

Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine (The Green Room Chronicles Book #1) by J.D Frettier – Review by Angela Hayes

Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine is the first book in The Green Room Chronicles series by J.D Frettier. I didn’t know what to expect going into this book because I had never read any of Ms. Frettier’s stories before now, and when I researched her (ok, I admit it- I stalked her?) to see what else she has done, this appears to be her debut novel? If that’s the case, what a brilliant introduction- as well as a superb and polished debut.

Even though this is a novella sized story, there is nothing lacking in the content. There was quite a lot to the storyline, and I never felt like I was missing information or that the story was rushed or cut short in any way like some novellas can be. It is a very quick and easy read and when the end came I wanted more, not because it was lacking, but because I enjoyed the story.

We meet Bonnie who had died after a kinky night with her beloved husband of 47 years. She is met at the “Pearly Gates” and introduced to ‘The Green Room”, by her best friend Dee- who had died 8 years earlier. The Green Room is the waiting room/checkpoint where souls are held till they are assigned to go to heaven, or hell. Bonnie has time to do some reflecting on her life- and we tag along as she remembers it all. Her soulmate Peter and how they met at Woodstock, their time at college, moving into a Hippie Commune, then the birth of their children, working, and her life up till having the fatal heart attack. She tries to come to terms with leaving her soulmate behind- and worries about things that she didn’t do- especially about whether her children will discover her stash of sex toys. As she is reminiscing, Dee shows her all the wonders The Green Room has to offer- and so her ‘adventure’ begins….

As you can probably imagine, there were quite a few laugh out loud moments to be had throughout the book. But there were also some more thought-provoking elements too. The storyline is very original, clever, and quirky. The characters are well developed and endearingly zany. I loved the ‘energy’ they gave the whole storyline. This is a character driven story, and the characters are definitely the real gems here.

A light-hearted, fun, and slightly tongue-in-cheek look at the afterlife!

I’m ready to jump into the next book ASAP!

Thank you, Ms. Frettier!

I know what you are thinking this book is about… that cover and title really draws your attention right away. I had never read anything from JD Frettier before so I had no idea what to expect. JD Frettier, you are a clever mind! I adored this fast read. At just under fifty pages we get a big story in a small package that makes you feel the gambit of emotions.

In Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine you have the story of Bonnie McMillan. In the summer of 1969 Bonne and her husband meet at the infamous Woodstock. A life of hippie style love and sex, is what they have lived for a wonderful forty-seven years. All of that is changed and ripped away in one night of raunchy fun together. Bonnie finds herself in what they call ‘the green room’. She embarks on a mission to reinvent herself and find a way back to ‘sixty-nine’. What a journey it is too! I can’t wait to see what will come next in the second book in the series.

Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine, the first book in the Green Room Chronicles, is written by J.D. Frettier. This novella is hilariously and well written story, justly so as it was an easy and quick read. The theme of the book was fun, light and perfect for the cast of characters. I think this story was creative, refreshing and something different out there in the genre that has become over-saturated.
