Jake (Billionaire Blind Dates Book 1) by Toni Denise – Review by Donya Pedigo

Jake (Billionaire Blind Dates #1)Jake by Toni Denise
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After reading the blurb I had to pick this book up. The idea of a dating app and then an actual blind date in the dark is such a great idea. Just think how much this could help people get to know one another and grow without it just being about physical attraction, wealth, or status.

This is the first book in the Billionaire Blind Dates Series by Toni Denise. In this book we meet a group of best-friend billionaires that want to help their friend Jake find romance, because his latest relationship turned out to be another gold digger situation. So what better way to meet someone than on an anonymous app where you can talk and later meet in a dark restaurant so your identity, financial status, and even looks are hidden? This is how Jake meets Lauren.

Lauren, a secretary to a CEO, gets convinced by her friend Catherine to try this Blind Date experience. Though hesitant, she finally agrees to the blind date experience with one main condition: that the person she matches with has a similar financial status as her, because she has seen how her mom dated wealthy men and was deemed a gold digger. Will it matter when Lauren finds out she is actually dating a billionaire, or will the amazing chemistry these two share be enough to overcome?

I really loved seeing how these well written characters seemed so real that I became invested in their story. This is a fun, fast read that flows really well and I can’t wait to see which member of the friend group is up next to find love.

Jake (Billionaire Blind Dates #1) by Toni Denise

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. It won’t be my last. The book had me hooked from the beginning. I didn’t want it to end and I will be looking forward to the next book. Jake is the first book in the Billionaire Blind Dates Series.

Jake is a billionaire and is proud of it. What he’s not proud of is the women thinking they can demand an engagement shortly after they start dating. His friends want him to go on a blind date. How will he feel once he finds he’s dating his friend Cade’s assistant. The quote I chose for Jake is: “What would happen the moment she sees my name? She’d look me up and we’d be right where I am now. No difference, just more hoops to jump through.”

Lauren doesn’t like billionaires and won’t date them. She’s also having problems with her roommate. When her friend Catherine offers, once again, for her to move in she takes it. It’s not long before Catherine talks her into going on a blind date. There she’ll meet Jake and fall for him. What happens when she finds that he’s a billionaire? The quote I chose for Lauren is:“I’m game. Let me grab some things for overnight then, so I can at least brush my teeth.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

Jake is my favorite character and Lauren is a crazy chick. I love how Jake shows so much interest at the beginning for this girl. Until density took a spin for both of them. He must train her and make her his, but is he willing to who knows? Like people say love has its own path for both of them.
Jake has trouble finding the right girl to be his submissive and for her to love him for him, not for his money. He sees love as a waste of time and his friends help him on a blind date.

Jake (Billionaire Blind Dates Book 1)Jake by Toni Denise
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was a pretty simple storyline but told in a way that made me want to keep reading. It was interesting to consider the literal “blind” date idea. Jake and his billionaire friends are loyal friends, always supporting one another, and always egging each other on. The whole group is incredibly likeable and familial. Lauren was kind of a lone wolf until she met them, but once Catherine befriended her, she became part of the fold.

Jake is tired of gold diggers pursuing him and just wants someone he can relax and enjoy their company – WITHOUT being after his money. That’s why he decided to take a chance when his friends introduced him to the idea of the new blind date restaurant – and each friend choosing 1 person to go on a date with him. After the first one turned out to be exactly what he DIDN’T like, he wasn’t keen on going on any more – but he agreed to one from each friend, so he was going to go for it. Little did any of them know, Catherine had manipulated the system a bit and got HER choice – Lauren – set up for his second date.

After hitting it off, Jake is excited to pursue knowing his mystery date better, but Lauren is nervous. It’s been a very long time since she dated, and having watched her mothers relationships as she grew up, she wants to be careful to be sure there’s a connection before coming out of the dark. Before long, they inadvertantly discover who their blind date was, and the book progresses from there. It’s a sweet romance and they’re both a bit surprised to find how well suited they are for one another when they discover their date.

Quick, sweet read with a lot of nice relationship building in the background. There’s a touch of drama here and there, but it’s very straightforward with the plotline. Enjoyed it a lot.

“Jake” started off as more of a slow burn than I expected. Beginning felt awkward even more than just blind date awkward. The concept of the way relationship started was interesting. As the story progressed, it definitely picked up speed and steam. The bumps in the road didn’t feel like real challenges to their relationship. Overall, great plot and sweet romance! I’m reading the next ones definitely!

Four blind dates- what can it hurt to get his friends off his back. Jake is tired of the women he meets just being after his money. Lauren is focused on her goals and making her way on her own. What will happen when the two each agree to a blind date set by a friend, or in Jake’s case 4 dates? Will they find what they didn’t even know they were looking for? Will the money be a breaking point between the two? Will their difference actually be a good thing?

I really enjoyed this story. It was a well written, page turner. I loved the characters, not just the main two but the supporting characters as well. I cant wait to see how the rest of the guys turn in the hot seat play out. I would absolutely recommend reading this story. I know I am ready to dive into the next in the series.

Jake by Toni Denise is the first book in the Billionaire Blind Dates series. Jake is a billionaire who is tired of dating women that only date him for his money. Lauren is a woman that dislikes dating rich men as she has only found rich men that thought women should bow down to them because they have money. These two are matched when Jake and his four billionaire friends use a blind dating app. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Jake and Lauren. I found them very easy to root for. I also enjoyed the friendship between Jake and his friends. The characters in the book are very well written and I look forward to reading about the other four friends. This is a book that is easy to get into and hard to put down.

I loved reading about Jake and Lauren. Their dates, as well as their “blind dating” set up was brilliant. Watching (well reading) them grow closer together was really sweet. Definitely not what I was expecting when I selected this novel. I’m even more excited about their friends and how their relationships pan out. So good!!

Adorable. Heartwarming. So cute! Jake is a rich man who has built his own company from the ground up, and his group of buddies decides it would be fun to set Jake up on blind dates that each of them pick for him. Jake agrees, but doesn’t believe that’s how he is going to meet the woman of his dreams. Lauren is your usual, girl next door, working girl who has always independently taken care of herself. Read this book! You will love it! It’s romantic, entertaining, and just overall fun to read! Couldn’t put it down!

This book has the potential to be good but I didn’t enjoy the speed of it. It starts out as sort of a slow burn, then escalates very quickly. It almost seems like an unreal timeline between the first few chapters and the middle of the book. I would’ve liked more depth in the beginning or a smoother transition between the main characters romance.

When I read the blurb, I instantly wanted to read it. I liked the premise of it and had to read it. This book starts with another failed relationship of Jake’s. He was tired of dealing with gold diggers and to be fair I can understand that. One of his friends talks him into joining a blind date app. Thus the way our hero “meets” our heroine Lauren. Lauren isn’t interested in a relationship with a rich man, yet her best friend convinces her to join the same dating app. The story flowed easily, and it was fun to read. I loved the chemistry between the two and the dynamic between the friend group. I am glad I picked up this book.

This is the first book of the Billionaire Blind Date series. This is also my first read of this author and I am hooked on the characters. The author did a great job capturing the readers interest early on, with a new take on a blind date. The storyline was easy to follow and well written. This is a super cute story that circles around a special blind date opportunity. Lauren and Jake are not looking for love (isn’t that always the way!) They both decide to go on the blind date to get their friends to stop pestering them about their respective love lives. Little do they know that a blind date is exactly what they both needed.

I can relate to the main character, Lauren, with her family problems, money issues, and little self-confidence, she is the most normal and realistic character I have read about in a long time. Jake is down to Earth even though he is wealthy. This author is able to create characters that are real and still fun to read about.

Jake and his sister, Catherine have the best group of friends. Here’s hoping they each get their own blind date!

The sweetness buried in these pages, romance, intimacy that is shared between the two main characters, Jake and Lauren, is tear worthy. Really. I was walking the dog and listening to my trusty Kindle read this to me, and boy, did my tears collide with the rain. Not necessarily sad tears, but you know those tears that occur while watching a cute hallmark film? Those ones.

This novel was a very fast read for me, at least, and I enjoyed every single moment of it. I just finished it up last night in bed, and couldn’t help but feel more comfortable and content in my pile of blankets. This author lets you connect with not only the main characters, but the friend group as well, and empathize with what they are having to go through individually, and together. I loved the authors style and will definitely be coming back for more of her work soon. Highly recommend!

Jake (Billionaire Blind Dates Book 1)Jake by Toni Denise
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really good romance. A touch of rags to riches, a dash of prideful came up on her own heroine, and just a bit of alpha male.
A group of playboy billionaires are disillusioned and over the playboy lifestyle. However, finding a woman who wants them for more than their money and fame isn’t easy. Enter a true blind date company! A dating app, no picture, and the date is chosen via algorithm, or in Jake’s case, by his friends. They can chat or not before, but then they meet at the restaurant where they enter from separate entrances and it’s too dark to see each other. Thus, getting to know each other without knowing who the other is.
Lauren is a secretary to a CEO in a top company. Her friend Catherine convinces her, after some trouble with a roommate to move in with her, and then to give this Blind Date thing a try. She agrees on the condition that they are close to her in finances as she doesn’t ever want to seem like her mother, a “Gold Digger”.
My only real issue with this book was that there was never any real conflict for the couple. I wasn’t looking for a tragedy or anything, but what was in there felt like inconveniences more than anything and that the first time they as a couple are truly tested it will fall apart. I’d say it’s a little to fairy tale-esque, but fairy tales have tragedy and conflict. Other than this, it was a really great story!

Jake is the first book in the Billionaire Blind Dates Series. This was my first time reading any of this author’s work and it certainly won’t be the last. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the others in this series.
This book takes blind dates to a whole new level. First you fill out a huge questionnaire on the app, then you get to meet your match in a blind date – at the blind date restaurant, totally in the dark! Yep, you share a meal with the person but you can’t actually see them.
Jake and his 4 billionaire friends decide that this is the way that each of them should try to find their significant other, each will pick dates for the others and it’s Jake’s turn to go first.
I really loved Jake and Lauren’s story. They already know each other as Lauren is the PA of one of the 5 guys – Cade. They have no idea of this though and totally hit it off.
It’s very much an opposites attract story. Jake is a billionaire who is tired of women who only want him for his money. Lauren is living paycheck to paycheck and is worried that Jake will think she’s after his money but it makes no difference to her at all. She’d still like him if he was penniless.
I really enjoyed the camaraderie between the 5 billionaires and can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the other 4 guys.

Jake: A Steamy Billionaire Contemporary Romance (Billionaire Blind Dates Book 1)

This was a book that was extremely hard to put down.  I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen with Jake and his blind date but the drama happening with one of the other guys and his company.

Jake came across as one of the good guys from the beginning.  Did use his wealth as an excuse to be rude or act better than everyone which made me like him more.

Lauren was extremely relatable for me.  I seem to have a soft spot for female characters with complicated relationships with their Mom and Lauren definitely has that.

I’m wasn’t sure what I was getting into with this book since she’s a new to me author but she didn’t disapoint.  There were so many things I enjoyed about this book.  I can’t decide if it was when Jake defended Lauren or Cade.  All of the characters are great and I look forward to a long relationship with this group.  Now to patiently wait for the next book.

Jake (Billionaire Blind Dates Book 1) by Toni Denise – Review by Jessica Stone

This novel is the first in a mafia series about a group of highly privileged and devastatingly handsome men, your typical mafia romance, with an interesting twist.

Jake is tired of women who see him as a billionaire and only wanting him for what he can do for them, so after being persuaded by his friends he joins a new app for blind dating, the twist? It’s actually “blind dating”. The women he meets will only get to know him by the sound of his voice and the connect they can hopefully form without all the money and good looks involved. But Jake only agrees too four dates and if he doesn’t find a true connection on those dates, he might just swear off love and relationships forever.

Lauren a strong willed independent woman, is looking for ANYTHING but a relationship, or someone to take care of her. But after a series of unfortunate events Lauren is badgered into giving the dating world another try by her new roommate, it’s a literal shot in the dark. The last thing she expected is finding a connecting so strong with someone she’s just met. The only problem for Lauren, is the man at the end of that connection is exactly what she fears.

Will Lauren let her fear of wealthy men, and stolen independence cloud her judgement and guide her away from a shot at true love? And will Jake let go of the past and embrace a future after the heartbreak he’s endured?

Terrific book, loved the “blind dating spin”! It’s pretty relatable as a strong independent woman myself to put myself in Lauren’s shoes and see where her hesitancy comes from. On the flip side I have been in a position that I would akin to jakes and sometimes it’s hard to convince yourself that people can be good and different.

The author wrote this book well, the characters are totally lovable, I laughed, I cried, I yelled in frustration, all and all definitely exceeded what I wanted to get out of this read. Cannot wait to follow the stories of the other billionaire baddies featured in this novel!

Jake (Billionaire Blind Dates Book 1)Jake by Toni Denise
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After ending another relationship when he realized that the woman was only after his money, Jake is unsure of how he will ever find a good woman. When his group of friends encourage him to try a new blind date app, he is hesitant at first. However, they talk him into it…and even decide they will each pick a woman for him to go on a date with. After the first one is a disaster…he’s not even sure he wants to go on the second one. But, when he does, there is a spark. An impromptu meeting with one of his best friends reveals who the mystery woman is. He wants to see where things will go…so why does she seem so disappointed?

Lauren enjoys being an independent woman who pays her own way in the world. After a series of events (including a horrible roommate) ends with her becoming roommates with her boss’s sister…Lauren finds herself being talked into trying a new blind date app. She goes on the date but is still hesitant…until she finds out (by accident) who the mystery man is. She has a hangup with being labeled a gold-digger…and it is something that plagues her every decision. Can she let go and just live in the moment? Or will her fear stop her from exploring what could be her happily ever after?

I enjoyed this story. Both Jake and Lauren were great characters….who am I kidding?…all the characters in the book are great (minus everyone’s parents!). Lauren’s insecurities and hangups were felt coming off the pages…and I loved that Jake was able to quiet those fears over time. I’m sure I will be checking out the next book because I am now invested in this group of friends!!

This was an adorable, sweet and romantic story. Jake is over dating because all the women seem to be after his money. Lauren does not like rich men because they are all the same, looking for that supermodel that just wants to travel and spend all their money. She just wants a respectable man to settle down with a live a good life. Both of their friends convince them to go on a blind date, literally blind in a PITCH dark restaurant. It was a lovely spin on a blind date, the story was cute, romantic, steamy at times and the friends were realistic. The main thing that was missing for me was the background of the FMC. There was this small part where there seems to be a bit of conflict on the FMC part but it could have been much more developed earlier in the book with more information on FMC past relationship with her mother. The other conflict was with a friend of the MMC and it seemed awkward at best in the story. I think there is A LOT of potential in this series with a little more backstory to the characters.

Dating is not easy in general. Imagine being a billionaire looking for actual love that isn’t out for your money. Imagine taking a detailed questionnaire to set up a profile for a dating application where you don’t get to see the other person and must rely on the algorithm to pair you with another. Then a date where you cannot see your date. This concept was well written in this story. I couldn’t put the book down.

You want someone to love you for you, but you are a well known billionaire. This is a dilemma facing Jake. Women just want him for his money and could care less about the man behind the money. His friends talk him into a new way to date that would help eliminate the money chasers, blind dating. You have the option to talk prior to the date or leave it to full chance when meeting at the restaurant in the dark where you dine with your date.

Lauren wants a significant other that is well off, but not at the extravagant level of her billionaire boss. Catherine, her friend, convinces her to let her choose a blind date for her. A night of chatting in the dark with a stranger. A date unlike any other with a man that she enjoys talking with though not enough to give him her identity just yet. Intrigued, she agrees to continue getting to know one another through messaging.

How will the two get along when their identities become known? Did the new blind dating work?

Don’t wait. Pick up the book and find out for yourself.

Jake is the first book in the Billionaire Blind Dates series. This Contemporary Romance will have you turning the pages trying to figure out what is going to happen next. I literally read this in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down. I’m a sucker for this kind of romance but these two definitely top my list. Jake is tired of women using him because of the size of his bank account and who he is. Lauren is a very smart and intelligent woman who doesn’t need a man with lots of money nor does she need lavish things. These two find themselves on a blind date, the setting is lights are down low enough to see but not see everything if that makes sense. What will happen when he finds out who she really is? What will she do when she finds out who Jake really is? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. Im looking forward to reading more from this Author.
