Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin – Review by Angela Hayes

Scoring Chance : A Mile High Miners NovellaScoring Chance : A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Scoring Chance: A Mile High Miners Novella by Lane Martin is a great little quick and easy read. This is my first read from Lane Martin, but it definitely won’t be the last. I really didn’t know what to expect going into the story, but thought the blurb looked interesting and took a chance. This is a contemporary sports romance. The series focuses on the Mile High Miners Hockey team, and in this book we follow Rhett Crawford, who is one of the goalies for the team. His life takes an interesting turn when he meets Eden Snow. But she’s the forbidden fruit he isn’t supposed to taste. The live-in Nanny for his team captain. Nothing tastes quite as sweet as forbidden fruit, right? So get set as the sparks fly.
A great read, and I am looking forward to more from the Mile High Miners, and Ms. Martin!

Thank you, Lane Martin!

I always love reading fairy tales and I especially love reading reimagined favorites. Nash does a beautiful job holding true to favorite themes and weaving in threads of fantasy. The imagery was vivid and the stories were simply magical. I get transported into each tale and enjoyed reading this book immensely!

The Wicked Wolves of Windsor: and other fairytalesThe Wicked Wolves of Windsor: and other fairytales by Byrd Nash
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Wicked Wolves of Windsor: and other fairytales by Byrd Nash is a delightful collection of fairytales in a Grimm style of storytelling. These are not Disney versions of tales, but original stories ranging from Medieval times to modern-day settings. I honestly do not normally grab short stories but the title and premise intrigued me. I always loved Grimm’s when I was young and this is in the same vein but modernized. The stories are vivid and fun while still having the layer of being precautionary to the reader. I am really glad to have grabbed this book and will be looking for more from Byrd Nash in the future.

Taming Zane by Lisa Lanay is the second book in the Almost Perfect Series. This book was a wonderful, loving, humorous book to read. The author did an amazing job captivating the audience right from the first chapter. This story gave me all the warm and fuzzy feelings that I couldn’t put it down. The connection between the two main characters Shannon and Zane was amazing. Who wouldn’t want a handsome doctor to take care of them 😉 I will definitely be looking for another story by this author!

Stars-4

This is the first story in this series. Each story is a standalone. This story was filled with drama and twists. There were moments that felt rushed, but, overall, this story went at a good pace. This was a good second chance love story. I am interested in how MJ Masucci is going to develop this series.

Broken by Love (The Full Circle Series) by MJ Masucci – Review by Gail Guerrero

Four Stars

I have mixed emotions about this story. The author puts Lexi in a very difficult situation right from jump. Then just keeps adding fuel to the fire. It was such a disaster I had to keep reading. The title of this story is real. Lexi is broken by love. The things she has been through not just with JC but with Noah as well. These kind of things hit your self esteem hard. You start to feel like you’re less. You don’t feel beautiful. You become jaded. I do think that Lexi moved on way to fast. There’s no way you can love someone and be hurt by them and move on that quick. But what ever works. I didn’t like JC he was a fake alpha male. I normally love second chance books but this one set with me wrong. Lexi didn’t give herself time to heal and to truly find her own happiness. So many people are afraid to be alone that they forget that happiness and love starts with loving themselves and being happy with who they are. That’s a lesson I would’ve liked to see Lexi learn. Don’t get me wrong the story was good it definitely had its moments. I really liked the writers style and overall flow of writing.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I thought from the beginning that Noah was too good to be true. Lexi and Noah’s relationship was believable. Crazy chemistry and very well written. And I wanted more of Lexi and JC’s relationship.
But part of me was completely blindsided by the turn of events. Made for a titillating storyline. I enjoyed it though. The ending seemed a bit rushed is my only negative. Would definitely read this author again. Some major potential.

Rebound was such a good novel! I haven’t read the previous novels in the Rewind series, but it wasn’t difficult to get into. I loved all the positivity in this book! You obviously have pro-LGBT themes, you also have the characters and the author against misogyny and prejudice of all kinds, it’s was just such a heartfelt story to read. I loved how Rowan Shaw was able to immediately capture you into the story with her words alone. Kudos to this author for this story! Definitely an 18+ novel for tolerant adults. I highly recommend and will definitely reading the rest of the series soon!

Landing the Lawman (Hills of Texas #5) by Kadie Scott was a sweet romantic story. I enjoyed the friends to lovers story, it was very well written. I loved Carter’s character, she was really confident and sure of herself. I love a female lead that is very sure of herself and knows what she wants and needs. Logan was also a great lead that worked well with Carter’s personality. From the get go I could see a spark and could not wait to dig in deeper.

Broken by Love is the first book in The Full Circle Series by MJ Masucci. She is a new author to me. Masucci has attention to detail and a plot line that is amazing. Her characters are complex and completely could be someone in your life. I found myself reading the entire book in one sitting. I needed to keep turning the pages to see what is coming next. This story is about Lexi and her life. It appears as if Lexi’s life did go full circle. She is engaged to Noah, but she has started a new job and you will never guess who her new boss is. It is her ex, JC.Now JC is still has feelings for Lexi. She will have to figure out what she needs (really wants) to do with regards to Noah and JC. You will have to read this story to find this out for yourself.

Covert Threat (A Gray Ghost Novel, book 5) by Amy McKinley – Review by Michelle Mulvey

Covert Threat (Gray Ghost #5)Covert Threat by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

  • Covert Threat is book 5 In The series. I have not read all the books in the series but, I believe you do not have to in order to know what is going on.
This book was great. I found myself staying awake later at night because I didn’t want to put the book down.
Covert Threat was filled with action, suspense and confusion. As a reader I can honestly say the author had me hooked from the very beginning. Who doesn’t love a good book with a hot former navy seal?
Jules is one of the top scientist working on an antidote known to be able to save lives. Everything is going well until
One morning she finds an odd message on her computer at work. She always shuts her computer down when she leaves for the night and no one can get into her office building without proper ID.
When things start happening her boos hires Trev to be With Jules to and from work every day. People start getting injured and possibly even killed and they are framing Jules for it all.
Jules has an old cookbook from her mom that has a letter inside from her mother. Her mom told her to only open the letter if she feels threatened because it is like opening Pandora’s Box. Jules doesn’t know if she should open the letter or leave it where it is.
Jules doesn’t have a lot of memory from her younger years. Her family was in a boating accident where her dad and sister were killed. Luckily Jules and her mom were saved but doe to that accident, Jules doesn’t really remember anything. She’s not sure what they letter holds.
When she finds out who is behind the mysterious things happening, she starts to remember certain things from her childhood. Things are a lot more serious then she thinks. This book was a great read!review by @xchellex

I have read a few books from this author and she continues to blow my mind. I have grown to love this series. This is the fourth book of the Rewind series. Rebound (Rewind Book 4) by Rowan Shaw
5 stars!

Oh Rowan Shaw! Her writing is off the charts, and I have yet to read any book by her I don’t like or can’t get in to. Noah’s story is everything I hoped it would be and more. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about Noah being with a female after such a long relationship with his previous boyfriend because I was already in love with all the gay characters and their relationships. Rowan Shaw definitely changed my mind and I was very pleased and excited to watch Noah and his new polyamorous relationship. My heart was truly broken when his relationship of 10 years ended but he picked himself up and found his happiness. I really love when character from the other books cross over.

This book can be read as a stand-alone but it is 100 times better if you read the series in order. I can’t wait to see what she will bring us next!

This is was a great read. It took me on an emotional journey. This book was so well written and I found myself completely enthralled by the story. I loved Noah  and I could feel how hurt he was when Hugo broke up with him. There are other great characters in this book that are supportive of what Noah’s going through. I have read all the books in this series,  they captured my heart and I became invested in what was going to happen to the characters. This is a must read to find out how this ends for Noah. I highly recommend this book.

I enjoy a book where you can’t tell which way the storyline could go with the characters and these characters have a way at pulling at the readers. I’m gonna say the characters are relatable in how human they are as we are as a reader. Lexi, the lead female, is where we’ve all been a time or two as a woman. The two lead males could have treated her better. Very good read but I wanted the characters to be better for Lexi to fall for. We can all relate to the story otherwise. This is a great original page-turner that’s really unpredictable and entertaining.

A Sun So Bright (Reigning Hearts Book Three) by KG Fletcher – Review by Faith Jackson

A Sun So Bright (Reigning Hearts, #3)A Sun So Bright by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a harrowing story of classism as we follow the lives of rich girl, Fiona Merrill, and bartender, Chris Ballard, crosses paths only for what strikes the reader as an “opposites attract” love story. Fiona gets in over her head with Chris. Chris jumps at the chance for Fiona’s “indecent proposal” to renovate his farmhouse so he could get out of his mom’s hair. Chris begins pushing Fiona further outside of her bounds. In the end, Chris shows the heiress a world she never knew before meeting him and changes her outlook on life. This book is a rollercoaster to read showing you a different side of life, love, and how getting comfortable with the uncomfortable can change everything.

5 +++++++ Stars

3 Days!! Thats how long from today I have to wait for the next book in this series..Three Brutally horrific days. I just can not even with this book.. I actually can not even figure out how to write this review. Not sure what words are left out there for how I feel about this author.

I have to say that this story was 99.99999999999% perfect, whatever percentage is left in that number is solely based on the fact that I have never wanted inside a man’s mind more than I wanted in this one. I’ve read a million books in my life and many are from just one POV and that’s ok and awesome, but this one for some reason I just needed to know what he was thinking. He felt like such a mystery to me. If I wanted anything more from this story that would have been it.

This author never ceases to amaze me by opening my mind to things I don’t understand and I’ve said this in many of my reviews of her books that she can take circumstances or lifestyles that I don’t understand and makes it all seem like I live under a rock LOL

This story was so full of emotion and I felt it deep, I also feel like I won’t make it to the release of the next one…I have to have the second one now!!

Not giving anything away so will play it safe and not go into the storyline itself, I will say though that this is a must read, and be prepared to curl up and ignore that thing called adulting because you will not want to put this down!

***heavy sigh***

The Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart isThe Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart is by Jacquie Biggar
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Sister Pact: Home Is Where The Heart is, is the first book that I have read by Jacquie Bigger. If this book is anything to go by, then it won’t be the last of her book that I will read. I loved this book so much.
Holly Tremaine has returned home as she is suffering from a life threatening disease and has had to take a break from her job as a violinist. Holly had left home to chase her dream and escape her family. Holly was devastated when her sister Susan got pregnant by Holly’s boyfriend Steven and then married him. So you guess that coming home would not be easy for Holly. Added to that Holly has then slept with Steven’s twin Levi at Susan and Steven’s wedding. A recipe for fun and games!
The sexual tension is evident immediately between Levi and Holly but she does everything possible to fight the pull that he has on her.
I really loved this story. The interactions between Holly and Levi are fantastic to read but in addition, I loved the interactions between the 2 sisters as they tried to mend their broken relationship. This story pulled me in straight away and I was hooked to the very end. I was unable to put this book down and had a late night as I read and read to get it finished. It really was that good.
100% recommend this book.

I absolutely adore this series! Its one of those series that completely fills your heart up throughout the whole book!

Carter is a water writes consultant and her biggest client to date is Logan who helps farms with their water supply. They started as a purely professional relationship turned into a beautiful friendship. Carter is a workaholic. She lives to work and doesn’t take time to do much of anything else. Logan shows her there is more to life than working. It took a series of events for Logan and Carter to finally cross that line they’ve been toeing and finally find the love they were destined for.

I love this series and this book! Kadie writes such beautiful stories and I cannot wait to read more from her!

The Wicked Wolves of Windsor: and other fairytalesThe Wicked Wolves of Windsor: and other fairytales by Byrd Nash
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When it comes to the Wicked Wolves of Windsor by Byrd Nash. I am a huge fan, every story was better than the last. They weren’t sweet and innocent like a certain mouse controlled company tried to turn fairy tales into. They’re reminiscent of the original Grimm’s Fairy Tales which brought a huge smile on my face. It was hard to pick a favorite of the stories, and some of the twists at the end had me grinning on a few of them. Byrd has a way of taking fantasy and making it her own and still being incredibly empowering, especially for the females. I will say in the last story it was nice to see a flash back to Logan (from Byrd’s other book, ‘Never Date a Siren’) and some aspects of his family life. I look forward to many more stories from Byrd and Recommend this, and her other books to everyone I know!!
5 out of 5 Stars!
