Landing the Lawman (Hills of Texas #5) by Kadie Scott. I LOVED this book. Its the 5th book in the series but can be read as a standalone. Its the story of Carter Hill who chose to walk away from a good relationship because she wanted a career outside of the home. If she had married and stayed home she would be working on the ranch and being a wife and mom, she wanted that but she also wanted more. She wanted to be a Water Rights Consultant for a long time and she had worked hard to become one. Now she was working with some amazing attorneys and she felt as if she was making a difference and working with Logan Cartez one of those amazing attorney was an added bonus. She was attracted to Logan but she was afraid to cross the friendship line because she knew Logan didn’t do relationships. After an amazing night together can Carter just go back to being friends? She knew all along Logan didn’t want more but she doesn’t want to go back to just friends. Logan is so thrown by his feeling for Carter he doesn’t know what to do.
