I absolutely adore Elinor! We are now in book 2 of the Madame Chalamet Mysteries series, Delicious Death. When Elinor attends the King’s Winter Feast, someone makes an attempt at the King’s life. When the Duke thinks he can find the suspect first, Elinor along with her friend, Dr. Charlotte, tries to find out who the culprit is. This book had more of the wit and fun from the first book. We got to see more of the friendship between Dr. Charlotte and Elinor. We also see more of the slow-burn romance between Tristan and Elinor and the issues that their difference in status may cause. This is a well-written continuation of the series and is able to be read as a stand-alone story.

Whispers in the Waters (Blood of the Fae) By: Sarah Chislon Review by: Susan Ratchford 5 Stars
This book was an unexpected gem with a very unique blend of fantasy and mystery! Although this book was a really quick read Chislon does a beautiful job at introducing us to the world and the characters. I still have so many questions!!!! This book serves as a prequel to her Blood of the Fae series and I for one cannot wait to learn more about Jessa’s story and her connection with nature and flowers. I love the Gaslamp fantasy setting and the way Chislon includes pure curiosity and creativity within her world. I highly recommend this novel for a cozy late night read!

Ghost Talker by Byrd Nash is a fun and witty novella that starts off the Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries series. Elinor Chalamet is a medium that is searching for the person that killed her father. While she is hunting for his killer she aids the police when a dead body is found in a canal. This case puts her in the path of Tristan Fontaine, duke de Archambeau. There are nice sparks between Elinor and Tristan. I enjoyed their budding relationship. The writing is wonderful and the characters, are well-written. The ghost story is well-balanced. This was a very good read.

This is the 2nd book in the Quimby Grove Series. It’s a really great small town, second chance, romantic suspense novel. It can be read as a standalone but as the main characters from the first book play quite a large role in this book, I’d say, if you are going to read both books, then read them in order to get the best experience. A memorable one night stand, if you can call their frantic coupling on the beach a one night stand, totally changes the lives of Max Quinn and Marley Halligan. A chance meeting at Max’s best friend’s wedding where Marley is working as a wedding planner brings the 2 back into each other’s lives. Can they rekindle the spark that they had that fateful night on the beach? Can Max handle the shock that he is father to awesome 4 year old twins? I absolutely adored reading Max and Marley’s story. Max as a dad is totally swoonworthy. I loved reading his interactions with the adorable Izzy and Jaz who were such scene stealers. With this being a romantic suspense, the added bonus of the danger, drama and intrigue, really added to the entertainment factor of this book. I was really hooked on the story and did not want to put this book down. I really hope we get more from this series and with the little snippets we got from Avery and Kennon, I’m hoping they are next

A spicier book than I’ve read in a while! This book was near impossible to put down and not for the faint of heart! I loved the different dynamics each separate relationship held and I am sure I was blushing a few times! I enjoyed watching her grow and see herself as more than a “big girl”. But, all in all, a well put together novel I enjoyed every page of!!

Gwyn you did such an amazing job writing this collection! None of the books have disappointed me. The depth of the characters, plot, storyline is freaking amazing!! I love that it’s not just romance, but it’s filled with action, suspense. I couldn’t put the book down. You really had my attention from the first page til the very last book. I highly recommend this book to anyone!!

Chasing Redemption is the second book in the Quimby Grove series. I really enjoyed the first book which was her debut book and this one did not disappoint either. This is Max and Marley’s story. Of the two this is my favourite story. I love a story told in a dual/multiple POV because your understanding of the characters is so much clearer. It is easy to escape in this romantic suspense story and in to the small town of Quimby Grove where one night changed it all. Now everything is turned upside down. It is a suspenseful quick read that is also heartfelt and fun. As with the first book it will warm your heart, but also have it pumping at times, have you laughing out loud and make your heartache and bring out all the feels. With one hot mess, a crazy ex, revenge, a string of escalating crimes, a super surprise from a super sexy one night stand, longing and wondering and so much more you will fall in love with the people of this small town. Oh and let’s not forget the BFF who asks for too much.

This is the second book in the Quimby Grove series. It is a beautiful story about second chance romance. The author does an amazing job with the characters. They are both very deep and the author does an great job of bringing them to life. I love how fiesty Marley is. After having to plan and attend her best friends wedding to her ex she was broken but she still had enough of a spark to leave a parting shot in her speech which made me feel like cheering for her. This event led her to the chance meeting with Max and it would be a night neither of them would forget and it would change their lives forever. But it was just a one night stand right? No names were exchanged and there was no way for them to contact each other again. So imagine Marley’s surprise when years later she bumps into Max again at a wedding she’s planning. But that isn’t the only surprise in story as Marley has a big surprise of her own. Can they finally get their happy ever after? Will Marley’s secret make them stronger or destroy them before they begin? And when a series of crimes start to happen in Quimby Grove will it be too much for the couple to endure?
This story is full of twists and turns, moments of fun and laughter and just as much emotional turmoil which makes this a read emotive romance to read

This is the first book I have read from this author and wow my mind was blown away. I love a good unique romance story but this book exceeded all my expectations. I was hooked right away and I couldn’t stop until the end. It only took my a few hours to devour this epic story. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.
Dorian and Augustine met after an accident that brought them together. They helped each other out after the accident which made them become close. Dorian and Augustine started to get real feelings for eachother but they both had a relationship already so they decided to part ways. It is now three years later Dorian and Augustine meet again. They find out that their wives are good friends now. They are both shocked when they are reintroduced to each other once again. Will they follow their hearts this time or is too late?
Chasing Redemption is the second book in the Quimby Grove series by Shannon Nikole. This second instalment is a wonderful follow up to Finding Starlight, but can be read as a standalone because it focuses on a different couple. This is an emotional contemporary romance that strummed my heartstrings the whole way through- and I was completely invested int the characters and the outcome of their story. I loved returning to Quimby Cove and am looking forward to Book #3. Happy Reading…

This was a good read! It was a very descriptive book, especially for being as short as it was. While I enjoyed the descriptions, sometimes they were a bit much though and it made this story feel longer than it was. This book had a historical and fantasy feel, made more so by the formal language and wording used. This was a good prequel though and makes me excited to read the next book!

The illustrations are wonderful in all of the books by Lois Wickstrom. The stories really draw you in and are just long enough to entertain and short enough to capture the attention of a young child. This story about invisible magic wands and how not to abuse their power is so charming and educational. Things truly get shaking in this book.
This is the second book of the series. I will be going back and reading the first book. I wish I can find a man like Pedro! He is rude and makes you not like him at the beginning. As he falls for Anne he because the guy that everyone wants. I cannot wait to read the next book.

Jasmine is such a strong character who has been through so much. She goes in to business with her best friend Cadence. I really didn’t like the character from the first mention of her. Because she comes from money, Cadence thinks she can pretty much do whatever. When Jasmine meets James she gets hooked right away before she finds out she can’t be with Him because of her best friend. However James and Jasmine both have feelings for eachother. Will James be able to walk away from Cadence and his plans to be with Jasmine? I rated this 4 stars. I thought the book was long and couldn’t really keep me interested throughout.

Finn gets dragged into the show because his playboy antics have gone too far and if he doesn’t find a way to earn some good press, he could be looking at the end of his acting career. Basically, his manager forced him into it. He’s relying on his acting skills to make it through the next three months, get himself out of trouble, and put the whole thing behind him. Things heat up between the couple during a honeymoon staged by the show in Bora Bora, despite Finn’s best attempts to avoid giving into his desires. And Aby questions how her new husband actually feels about her after noticing the facades he puts on when the cameras are rolling. Could his kindness just be an act? As the end of the show approaches, a decision must be made on whether they want to remain married or get divorced. Insecurities begin to creep in and the differences in their lifestyles threaten to pull them apart. Is three months living in a bubble together enough to make things work outside of the show? Can they each get out of their own way enough to let love in? The characters are adorable and funny. The story feels realistic and comes with some steam. Looking forward to more from this author.

This is a good book with a few steamy scenes, and plenty of drama and life events that keep you on your toes and keep you guessing until the end.

I was hesitant when starting this book as Pedro hadn’t been a character I particularly enjoyed in the first book. I found it hard to imagine how the author would turn him around. I am so pleased to be able to say she absolutely did! I cannot believe how much I connected with the character in this book and how much more I wanted to read about them. The character development was amazing to see and I really enjoyed every part of it. The story was just as good as the characters in this book. It was exciting and jam packed with so much going on. I honestly didn’t think I would enjoy this book too much but I have come away thinking it is even better than the first. This is a great story that I cannot shout about enough!

Max has never forgotten the mystery woman he had one very hot moment in time with, his Princess, so when she suddenly walks back into his life with some very surprising news he knows this is his chance to see if they can have something real! Marley and Max are wonderful characters with loads of heart and love to give if only they can work out who keeps trying to hurt the family they are trying to create. I loved returning to Quimby Grove and getting to read more about Max. Having read the first book in this fantastic series I knew Max and having liked him a lot in that book I was really looking forward to his story. Don’t get me wrong you can read this wonderful book without having read the first book in the series and still completely enjoy it but honestly do yourself a favour and read the first one as well.

Four, there is an outstanding loan to her stepmother that needs to be paid. When Stella goes to confront her boyfriend/backer about her birthday, Stella overhears him not only calling her fat and her clothes ugly, but that he is using her to improve his reputation to the woman with whom he plans to cheat on Stella.
Charles has just found out he is a father by the mom dropping the baby off at his office and taking off for an out of town job for a month. With his typical summer plans of debauchery ruined, Charles reluctantly agrees that Stella can stay with him to be his nanny. Charles has to fight his attraction to Stella because she is in name only his step-sister. He was an adult when his mother married Stella’s father and never lived with her, only seeing her at random holidays. Charles doesn’t know anything about Stella. When Charles’ friends, Jordan and Alex, also develop feelings for Stella everything becomes a confusing mess.
WOW!!! This one had me hooked from the opening paragraph. I absolutely loved the way Stella is proud of her curves and doesn’t cave to anyone’s opinions or beliefs about how she should live her life! The conversation, the wit, the humor, the interaction were all fantastic. The steam was so hot that I think I saw the words dripping off the pages as I read them. I also like the interspersing of characters from the other novels by this author. That was fun! This book was unputdownable. Fantastic, relatable characters with flaws and scars. Drama and tension that made the story more and palpable. Dayum!! This will be one of my favorites all year!!! Flipping phenomenal!!!!

A simple way to describe this book would be to say that the wonderful story woven by this extremely talented author will remind you of the power of redemption. I have said it before about this amazing author and I will say it again, her talent for creating such vivid images in your mind, leaving you feeling as if you really are in the time and place she has created, is truly captivating. The details contained within the story are so amazing and add so much to the reading experience. This is the second book in this particular series and can be read as a standalone but honestly do yourself a favour and read book 1 as well. You won’t regret a single moment spent reading any book this talented author writes.

Handle with care, hmmm one of my favorite books by Jodi Picoult. I HAD to read this one to see if the book lived up to its name. My goodness, did this book go about and beyond my expectations. Completely blew them out of the water. The emotions described in this book, from each main character to each other, to the pain/hurt/anguish towards their patients. I could not get enough. I swear I almost fell off my seat because I kept scooting forward as I was reading. I cannot wait to read more in this series, and any other books by this author!

I definitely found this book relatable. As a healthcare worker, you can never deal with grief the same as when you work in the field before or after quite the same as before choosing this profession. Also being from New Orleans, I found a personal sense of connection to the book even more so which is why I started reading it in the first place. It makes it that more familiar and more interesting to me to feel a strong connection. But besides the obvious connections, the storyline of these two’s story of departing onto foreign waters test their union in matters of life or death. Another reason I loved this is because I went through something similar during coronavirus and my love life at the time but it was less theatrical than this book. But this book is a tale you’d never forget. It takes you down a rabbit hole of emotions. I absolutely enjoyed this. Great read!!!!

This was a really interesting read and one that I did enjoy overall. The way in which the story was written was really good and intriguing. The author wove a tale of complex relationships and I think it’s one of those stories that each reader will have a different feeling or interpretation of what they think the main character Jasmine should do or have done. I will admit that the story was slow to start but really did begin to pick up pace from around the half way mark. A really interesting read that will definitely take you on a rollercoaster of emotions.

After reading book 1 in this series I was really looking forward to this one and I wasn’t disappointed. Again the author transported back in time to 1872 Portugal. I love historical romance reads but for me this series has been so great to read because of the setting – I usually read about London and very rarely anywhere else. The author paints an amazing historical picture with her wonderful words and I loved every minute of what I read. I was looking forward to finding out more about Pedro and I loved his POV chapters, I really felt as though I got to know him and yes I did end up falling in love with him! Anne was a sweet character, she may have been young and a little naive but there was just something about her and I loved her and Pedro together! Overall a great second book in this series and one that I would highly recommend!

Another smashing story from this series and this author! I loved the passion, the excitement and the actions of these characters. I was enthralled from the first page! Honestly that activity held up through most of the book dazzling me more as the story went on.
I really liked Emelia as she is everything a woman wants to be. I only wish she was a bit older because some of the attitude and fiery passion comes with age. Maybe about 7 yrs older but not a lot. My other only complaint is the overuse of the word “Capiche”. It just felt unnatural with it ending every sentence in the beginning.
Overall a captivating storyline and amazingly well done characters. I look forward to the next in this series.

An entertaining and enjoyable romance, which kept me happily turning the pages. Set at a Malibu beach house, up and coming plus-sized designer Stella has to act as a nanny for a month to a four-month-old baby. The baby belongs to Stella’s older stepbrother Charles, who never even noticed her, but who she had a crush on. Just as Stella thinks she can handle the situation and earn enough money to launch her own fashion line, she learns that as well as Charles, two of her stepbrother’s friends will also be staying at the beach house. After some innocent flirting with both Jordan and Alex it turns into nights of steamy pleasure with them both, whilst Charles watches but keeps his distance. For Charles, Stella is his forbidden little sister, his employee, the hired help, and his nanny. However, the longer Charles resists, the more explosive it will be when the couple give into their taboo fantasies. Stella’s plan is to survive the month and then go back to her life as though nothing happened with the three men, but she doesn’t know what their plan is. The setting in Malibu is brought to life by the descriptive narrative and made me feel immersed in the story. I liked that the heroine of the story, Stella is a plus-sized women, as that is unusual in romance novels. The characters are well defined and their chemistry really sizzled off the page resulting in some steamy scenes, so it’s definitely a book for adult readers.

Emelia and Dominic are members of opposing families, but once Dominic takes Emelia in response to her family’s actions, he intent on staking his claim. Dominic and Emelia can’t shake attraction even with the risk. This is a dark mafia romance gave us plenty of twists and turns, suspense, intrigue and steamy moments. I immediately liked Dominic and how he still had a moral code and wasn’t willing to waver on it. Emelia is a strong female that is the perfect match to Dominic. Definitely an enjoyable read.

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Handle with Care is the first book in the Chase Care Series. I’ve read a couple of the Chase Security books so I know a couple of the characters. This book is an amazing read.
Hunter, a doctor for Chase Security, is losing his mind. His wife is out of town and will be for a while. He feels that she is hiding something from him, but he isn’t sure what it is. When she comes back will he be able to fix what was broken? The quote I chose for Hunter is: “Medical complaints are the most elusive to chase down. I’d rather we overdo than underdo. Keep me posted. Next.”
Selma is running from her past. She doesn’t want to let Hunter know what is going on so she runs. When she gets no response from Hunter she is worried that she broke everything. What will happen when she goes back? The quote I chose for Selma is: “That was when you were created, little one.”
