Tam DeRudder Jackson, a fantasy and paranormal author, is a first time read for me. I love stories involving mythology, legends, and folklore so I was very excited to read Talisman. There is a lot of Celtic mythology that was touched on in Talisman that would be impossible to cover in one book, but I felt like Jackson did a pretty good job of explaining the relevant information in connection with the story. The story line flowed well from one aspect to another. The characters were realistic and fairly well-developed, even though many were goddesses and other legendary entities. There is a romantic aspect involved in Talisman as well that I found interesting. The deep connection between a Warrior and their Talisman is envious. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

This is the fourth book in the series. I unfortunately did not read the rest of the series when I picked out this book. However, I had no problem getting sucked into the story and getting to know the characters. I’m sure it would have been even better to read the whole series in order but sometimes it just doesn’t happen. The author writes in a way that you can feel like you’re in the locations described in the book. All of the characters in the family and the author’s world building creates a story you can’t get enough of.
I really enjoyed getting to know Tripp who has a secret love for Soleil, his younger sister’s best friend. But things aren’t so easy when Soleil wants nothing to do with him. When Soleil need help to find out the truth about her past and requests help from Red Cage, it brings some dangerous consequences that Tripp and his family’s business help work through for Soleil.

Although part of a series, Throwing the Curve can easily be read as a standalone. Peyton and Ryan find themselves in a fake relationship, thanks to Peyton’s previous relationship. Ryan doesn’t respect Peyton due to his understanding of Peyton dating one of his married teammates. Peyton is in the fake relationship for damage control; she can’t fathom losing the partnership between the team and her community center for at risk youth. As Ryan and Peyton are forced to spend time together for the fake relationship, they actually get to know each other. After jealousy rears its ugly head, Peyton and Ryan have to decide if a real relationship is worth it or not. Ryan’s family and friends really helped keep the story moving and interesting. The divide within the team added an element of interest too. Kendall was especially entertaining! This was an easy read with good character development. Definitely worth a read for love, drama, and spice.

True Colors was exactly what I expected it to be. The author brought me back to being a teenager at that age. It reminded me that kids are cruel and ruin your life. I was a floater, I spoke kindly towards everyone. Did everyone like me? No. Did people talk behind my back? They still do. But when you’re that age you care too much. It can destroy one’s confidence and will to live. This book is all that and more. What makes a true friend? I ask that because in this story Landry finds out the hard way who is and isn’t her friend. Landry is dragged by her two best friends to a model audition. Little did she know it would change her life. Because when she got the call to say she was through to the next round, those so-called best friends turned on her. She was left alone to navigate life by herself. Did she make acquaintances? Sure but was anyone really there for her? Did anyone truly support her? She needs to learn really quickly that what other people say and think doesn’t matter to embrace oneself is what does. Easier said than done. I’ve been a Landry at one point. I can relate oh so well. The author has you rooting and cheering for her. Keeping you on the edge of your seat, about what would happen. The growth is beautiful and beautifully written. You should definitely give this author a chance.
Straight for the Kill (Benoit and Dayne Mystery Book 3) by Winter Austin. OMG. I loved this book and I think I may have a new favorite author! I have loved every book in this series and while I recommend reading them in order they can be read as stand alone books. This is the story of Elizabeth Benoit who is fairly new at being a Sheriff but not new at the Sheriff’s department. Deputy Lila Dayne is a deputy sheriff and she and the sheriff work well together. When a new murder happens and it brings back bad memories of a few cold cases they have Deputy Payne and Sheriff Benoit take notice. One of those cold cases was the murder of Sheriff Benoit’s best friend who is also the sister of one of Benoit’s Deputies. This new case is causing a lot of bad memories to come to light and the previous sheriff is tied to them all. Can Sheriff Benoit solve this case before more innocent people die and can she finally put away the old sheriff. Cleaning up the Sheriff’s department is her goal but if she can solve murders at the same time that’s even better. Be prepared to read this book in one sitting, its that good!

We have been on bit of a journey with the five books in the Antipodes Series, Antipodes, The Liminal Space, Ouroboros, Caim, and Sessrumnir. I thought I had said goodbye. Now we have The 45th Parallel which is an extension on the Antipodes series. The 45th Parallel is a Sci Fi romance that has emotions running high. It is an even bigger journey that could have long standing effects for everyone. It is easy to get lost in the story and become invested in the characters and the journey they are on with new worlds and new characters. There is one thing I have learnt from reading TS’s books and that is expect the unexpected and that is why her books don’t become stale. There is always something new and exciting that comes to light. What would you do if the survival of everything rests on your shoulders? Would you do your duty, or would you want to live your life? I am not going to give away any spoilers but will say start with the Antipodes series and work your way through to this book. If you don’t then you are really missing out. I can’t wait to read the other books in this new series, Orenda, and Bifrost.

Lucky Stars is a New Adult Sci Fi romance story by Fantasia Yu who is a new author. I was intrigued by the cover that caught my eye which normally I don’t take much notice of. This is her third book, and her writing is descriptive making it easy for the reader to imagine this new world that Fantasia has created. It is a space romance adventure inspired by an old movie. It is also a quick fast paced read but it is action packed. With adventure, princesses, bounty hunters, space pirates, a rebel pilot and a dangerous secrets and deceptions there is something for anyone who loves Sci Fi tales. She wants a normal life to do as she pleases and be with whomever she is free to love. He wants to make amends and live a free life and it seems fate is about to step in and give him more than he thought. Unfortunately, not everyone agrees with destiny. Will they be able to be what the other needs whilst staying ahead whilst on the run. It does end with a cliff-hanger so there is more to come.
3.5 stars True Colours is a tween/teen drama story where self-doubt and longing are ripe. With all the emotions and drama, angst and jealousy, deep-seated insecurities and bullying, want and peer pressure rein. It certainly takes you back to your time in school when all you wanted was to fit in and be one of the popular kids. However, you soon realise that it’s not all it is cracked up to be. But let’s not forget the harassment and mind games others play when they don’t get what they want. I would not like to go back and relive it all again. The characters you will like but there are those who you just want to rip into and give a piece of your mind and tell them to grow up. I thought there were some unanswered questions that I felt where unresolved but maybe they will be answered in the next book.
Landry has self-doubt and feelings of never being enough when compared to others and everything that goes along with finding your place in the world. A time where you are still a child and finding out who you are. If you are a tween/teen then this story is for you.
This isn’t my typical genre. With that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I had time to kill during my kids surgery and while not a nice situation it was nice to be able to sit down and read it all at once without feeling rushed or interrupted. The characters were great and the storyline flowed well.

25 years ago a sinister murder took place that no one was able to solve and it seems someone has struck again. Elizabeth Benoit just had an Appendectomy and is recovering at home on Halloween when everything goes wrong and a murder way too similar to another one in this town comes to light The characters in this story are well built, the story is well developed and intriguing and keeps you reading and even though this is Book 3 I didn’t feel like I was missing too much by not having read the other 2 though now I will have to go qnd check then out. I have never read Tori Chase before.And I was hooked from the first page. I really love when an author has a good story to tell and gives you the proper amount of back story so that you aren’t left guessing about parts that you shouldn’t have to. Tori did just that for me! I thought this book was really cute! I think my favorite part is the way that Loretta was so inclined to find out more about the bees. The author did great at showing us a new character and also making sure we learned something as well. I also love the tutorial at the end of the book.
Finding Bryce is a book about Military romance. The book was good but I felt like the author rushed the book. I also felt like there was details that they could have added that was missing in the book. The story talks about getting second chances in love. Even though I felt like the look was missing details, it was a page turner. The author does get your attention from the first page. You will want to know what happens next.

This has its crazy good moments and its not so good moments. I liked the idea of the story but the delivery left me with a lot of thoughts. I struggled to stay focused in the middle and actually keep reading after that. There are so many times I thought “what is wrong with these characters?” because they keep starting sentences telling someone information then just run away after the first few words. Does the Sheriff even know this town and its occupants? Why is a Deputy running the show and telling the higher ups what to do and how to act? Some of this one I understood but not her mean streak, secrets and just overall pushiness to her senior officers and others. The ending felt like the author was going for too much shock factor and trying to tie loose ends up that just don’t make sense. I did mention good moments and those were the beginning while trying to figure out the original murder. I thought this book is going to be good! The ending also brought action, suspense and drama that really picked the pace back up.
Overall this is an okay story. It held my interest for a bit but mostly I just wanted it to end. I have not read the other books in this series. Maybe that would have helped with some of the actions of the characters.

I really enjoyed this sci-fi film romance. It was full of action and adventure that keeps you turning the pages. The author does an amazing job of describing to us the worlds that the characters are seeing and travelling to, it really brings the story to life. The romance is so good as well. Its 2 people from different places but coming together to create something amazing. Princess Mora has been sent to marry Prince Fidge. It is to create an alliance between the 2 worlds or so Mora’s family thought. However that isn’t what Prince Fidge’s family has planned at all. Now Mora has found this out she wants to marry him even less. All she wants is a chance to live her life her way and be free. And that chance comes in the form of Darin.
Darin is an outcast. He has connections to the space pirates and is seen as an enemy of the kingdom. All he wants to do is earn his credits so he can leave the land he is imprisoned on. He was never expecting to find love until Mrs Langley(Mora) came into his life. Together they try to make things right, to make the moon people free, to end Darin’s imprisonment. But with secrets and deception will these two have a chance of making a romance work. What will happen when Darin finds out that Mrs Langley is infact Princess Mora? This story is action packed with Sci fi adventure as well a burning romance between two people who are destined to be together even though everyone else disagrees.
Fear Inc: Volume 3 by Melinda Valentine – Review by Jessica Stone
So if you cannot tell by the title this is book number 3 in an ongoing motorcycle MC romance series. It’s the first novel I’ve read from this author but I do believe now I will be going back to read the first two, but I don’t personally feel like you have to read the first two books to enjoy this one. There are characters brought in from previous books who spark intrigue but nothing to confusing.
Krysta is young and dumb and in love with her older brothers best friend, recipe for disaster right? They try and try but as all good things, somethings got to give, thus a steamy relationship begins between Krysta and Kasper. But as the going get tough, the tough(Kasper) get gong, when Krysta unexpectedly gets pregnant, young dumb and in love, Kasper drops her like a sack of potatoes, breaking not only her heart but her trust.
Fast forward 6 years in the future, Krystas finally moved on, though never able to forgive or forget her heated past with Kasper she’s engaged and … happy…. As life progress and Kasper has grown he’s finally ready to be the man for Krysta that he couldn’t be all those years ago, which is great for him, but Krysta is not so easy to forgive the hurt she suffered from him. Will she ever be able to? Can they have a relationship or will life, her brother and the MC come between what always been simmering between them.
I feel like this book focuses a lot on Krysta and jaspers relation ship but there is a little action/drama between them and a rival family who have cause issues in the past that throws a little fun twist in there. I love the macho, I won’t let anyone hurt you, protector vibes.
I think that the chemistry between the characters was fantastic, Krysta is a wonderful intelligence, strong willed FMC with a head on her shoulders and the brains to not only know she deserves better but demand it. Kasper… started off as kind of a dingus in my book, he really dropped the ball with his whole, I’m not meant to be a dad, can’t own up to his choices/consequences thing and when he first started to “pursue”, admit feelings for Krysta again I was not in his corner, but as the story progressed, he redeemed himself and I now approve.
Wonderful read, it’s steamy, fun, playful, heavy at times, has a side of action, there’s more than a few gasp worthy moments, 100% worth a quick read. This author knows what she’s doing, 10/10 would recommend this series if you’re new to MC romance type books, this will suck you in!

I found this a quick and interesting read. All Princess Mora wants is a normal life. She gets an opportunity and takes it. It makes for a fun adventure and lets her help put things toward being right. I found the the characters to be well-written and they fit into the story line just right (even the tourist, Jake). The best part is the name of the bounty hunter (didn’t see that coming.). It’s an entertaining fantasy that ends with a cliff hanger. I hope there’s another one coming, I’ll be eagerly awaiting it.
This is not my first book by this author but it has just become one of my favorites. I have enjoyed this author’s books from the first one I picked up. I enjoy how they are able to pull me into the story with their attention to details. They make the story realistic and entertaining. This book is no different. This is a well written story where a young female is killed in the same manner as a previous female. On top of that Elizabeth’s sister turns up missing. This is where the story picks up and takes off. The suspense and twists and turns are like no other. They had me turning pages fast just to see what would happen next. This is a fast paced story that is not only hard to put down but one you don’t want to miss. The characters are relatable and brought so much to the story. I really enjoyed this suspenseful mystery. I highly recommend this book.

Chatroom with a View is a story with a ton of twists and turns. The main storyline is about Troy and the idea that he inherited a gene that makes him evil like his father and grandfather. The story starts out with a grisly scene in a cabin in the woods. It then morphs into Troy getting revenge on two girls who bullied him in high school while a psycho girl falls for him and is intent on making him belong to her. Through it all, he has a great friend in Stitch who helps him through many unfortunate events. This book is a litte far fetched and at times seems like there is just too much going on, but overall the story line is interesting and the characters are well developed.

What a cute little story about a piggy named Half-pint Porky. Patience is something parents and children must learn and sometimes that’s hard to do. My almost five year old loves all things Pirates so this was right up his alley. We read this story four or five times back to back he loved it that much. Half-pint Porky was so excited to start pirate school that when the day finally arrived she was nervous and wasn’t quite sure until a surprise treasure drifts in from the high seas. The little scallywag is reminded that good things come to those who wait. We truly enjoyed reading this book and the illustrations are very entertaining and colorful. We loved the adventure and look forward to reading more from this Author. We highly recommend reading this book and its suitable for children of all ages .

The was a intense fast paced thriller. I haven’t read the first two books and didn’t feel lost following the characters as there was great development and background information but I will be going and reading the first two. I always love a series that follows two strong woman and Lila and Elizabeth do not disappoint. You will not be able to put this book.

I love baseball! And I do thoroughly enjoy sports romances. Of course this one is nothing short of drama as well. Throwing the Curve was enjoyable and entertaining. Of course the title didn’t make sense to me till the end, but it’s not my place to explain why. Read it you will understand. Trust me it’s worth the read. Book 2 in the Playing for Keeps Series and though it’s part of a series it’s very much a standalone in its own right. The author pulls you in to the point you don’t want to stop. And when you do stop it’s over, and all you want is more! Peyton ends up in an unfortunate situation, as the other woman, who is bailed out by none other than star pitcher Ryan Graves. Now though I mention he’s a pitcher doesn’t auto connect him to the title, because he’s known for his 100+ mph fastball(so my point again read it, you will understand.) Anyway these two make assumptions about one another that are further from the truth. But was starting their relationship under dislike what brought them together? Do a mistress and a broken man fit together? Let’s not make judgments, because the way this book is written is how it keeps on interesting. Yeah they both have a crappy back story, but how they move forward and persevere is what keeps you reading. It’s what pushes anyone forward in life as it does the characters in the story. Are there speed bumps along the way? Absolutely! But what’s more entertaining than a little drama? I like everything about this book, and though it’s book 2 it’s the first book I read in this series. So while you read this, I’m going to go find book 1 to read!

Like second book it kept me enthralled. It’s also fast paced and easy read like previous book is serious. I highly recommend. It’s like history repeats itself with a different murder but similar case. I highly recommend you won’t be disappointed.

I just loved the cover ! I love that there was a bookstore involved and the characters become friends and family 🥰📕
Ellawyn ( what a beautiful name) is on the run from her abusive boyfriend and leaves everyone and everything behind and starts her healing in the quaint town of Quimby Grove .
She discovers Finding Starlight , a bookstore owned by Benji ,who is such a sweetheart and it serves the most delectable treats . Ellawyn is there everyday from open to close and always on the same spot , Benji leaves her to paint and heal . It’s all her fault I started craving grilled cheese sandwiches and vanilla lattes 🤷♀️😂
Benji receives life altering news and his grandson Beckett comes home and when he shares the news I just have a meltdown and my heart breaks into a million pieces but this little family draws close and face it head on but a man obsessed with Ellawyn intervenes in an evil and unkind way and I will not give his name as he doesn’t deserve any acknowledgment and his ticket to the first pits of hell is booked !
While Ellawyn , Beckett , Benji and Max were my people there were other folks that warmed my heart like the kind nurse that helped our Benji and Becketts dear secrestary 🌸
Love is light and Beckett and Ellawyn overcome the darkness and these two people are deserving of every ounce of love and while I didn’t want their story to end I was happy to let them go to live their HEA because I want to see what happens in Max’s life , he’s a catch and the lady who wins his heart is one blessed lady 😍
