Faerie's Magic (Seasons of the Fae Book 1)Faerie’s Magic by Jessica Feyden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Faerie’s Magic: a fae shifter romance (Seasons of the Fae Book 2) by Jessica Feyden is a paranormal fantasy romance. It took me a little while to settle into the story, but it soon drew me in. Love was not what any one thought would happen in the most unlikely of circumstances and despite the difference between them. There is a lot of pain, betrayal and hurt in this good story, but it is all worth it in the end. A Fae princess, a wolf shifter and magic and action abound in this wonderful tale. Jessica’s writing and world building, makes it easy to venture on this journey.

Shattered Reality (Summoned Book 1) by C.A. King is a paranormal fantasy story. Things are not as they seem in this book. Is it magic or insanity? There are a lot of secrets and lies as our MC steps back to what was once her home after her parents killing. Now face to face with her past once again our MC must confront that which she never believed. I enjoyed the story but there were parts where it felt a little disjointed and not flowing as well as it could have. Overall, the story held my attention with the mystery that CA intertwined.

East Beach: Red Farlow Mysteries: #3 by W.F. Ranew is a mystery thriller story. It will have you thinking you had it figured out only to be slipped a twist and a turn here and there and you had no idea. WF is very good a character building and they are well written. Red finds his friend on deaths door and is now on the hunt to find out who did this. The trail leads to drugs and cartel and your share of seedy bad guys. It also leads to more questions than answers. There are a lot of moving people and pictures in this story but WF does a good job of pulling it all together.

CAFE CONFIDENTIAL: An unfiltered and intimate memoir by Lynda Filler is a non fiction adventure story. It is a story of the journey of our author who sold up and ventured into the unknown. It is a step by step look at her life going from place to place with no destination in mind but with only the thought of feeding her mind, body and soul. I was immersed in the story and it was over before I knew it, but it left an impression on me.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Child of Prophecy (Tirumfall Trilogy Book 2) by J Drew Brumbaugh is a fantasy story. There are a lot of moving parts to this story and the road is not always easy but the journey to find the prophesised one to lead them to victory is a must. This is a fast paced tale with magic and danger, action and hope, magical beings of all sorts and so much more. You need to read the first book, Fall of the Western Kings of this trilogy as the story continues on. This original fantasy is vividly and richly outlined and is a well woven tale. It is easier to settle into this story earlier than the first as we have gotten to know the characters and the authors writing style.

Curse of the Sands (Relic Hunters book 2) by Martin Ferguson is a YA adventure story and sees the gang back together on another mission risking life and limb. As with the first book I love the thrills and mystery, the history and gathering the pieces and putting a puzzle together. Martins world building and easy writing style makes for a thrilling and enthralling read. Again, as with the first book the story is fast paced and gets the heart pumping. I was so engrossed in it that time got away from me. If you love the Librarians, Indiana Jones etc you are gonna love this series. YA or not you will thoroughly enjoy it too.

They will keep you entertained with their shenanigans and frenemies attitude towards one another. The characters feel real and blemished and Aviva could not have done a better job at bringing them to life. Watching them fight every step of the way is fun and enjoyable. Her Blackened Heart (Blackened Series Book 2) by Isra Sravenheartis is a dark fairy taleish fantasy paranormal story. Our villainess who is a very dark witch and the story has a bit of everything and the story line is original. Paranormal is my favourite genre so I am a fussy reader when it comes down to it. Did I like this book better than the first? Yeah. Would I recommend it to others? yes because like I said with the first book, just because it didn’t live up to my expectations, does not mean it will not for others.

Vanishing Day: A Logan McKenna Mystery/Thriller Logan Book 4 (The Logan McKenna Series) by Valerie Davisson is a crime thrilling mystery and everything is not as it seems. Valarie has given us a story that touches on abuse but true to her form the characters a complex but relatable. There is action and intrigue, danger that is too close to home and some twisty turns. Even though this is the fourth book in the series I am still finding my way with this author and her writing. Was this bo0ok as good as the last one? The Patience of Karma (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 5) by Cynthia Hamilton is a crime/thriller. The mystery, thrills and suspense kept me glued to the book all the way through. As always with these wonderful characters Cynthia puts them through their paces and us right along with them. I have loved this series since the first book I picked up and have not been disappointed, not once. Cynthia cleverly crafts the plot and several storylines that she is known for and works her magic when mixing it all together. Mike and Madeline are one of my favourite couples in a series and they always manage to find themselves in harrowing situations. Cynthia’s writing is engaging and captivating. I suggest you start from the first book and work your way through. Disappointed, I think NOT!

Better To Have Loved by Christy Nicholas is a touching romance that is vastly different to her other books as this one is based on her family. Christy has bravely shared the story of her parents. The story does jump backward and forward between the past/present and memories and can be a bit confusing but once that is under control you get lost in the story and the real life characters. It is a story of self discovery and fighting between your own needs and those of family. It is two stories of two women one from the past and one from the present and the search for answers on who they are and what makes them, them.

I was intrigued by the fact that he was preaching on many things, but gender equality really stands out for me. It is a story of a man so entrenched in his beliefs that he wants to share it with everyone but like all religion not everyone wants to listen to what he has to say. John the Baptist a historical retelling of the man and his life/work/beliefs.
