Key To His HeartKey To His Heart by Kristina Beck
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you want a heartwarming romance that really tugs on the heartstrings then this is the book for you. It’s the 2nd book that I’ve read from this author and this one will also be getting 5 stars as I was totally lost in the story. It is the quintessential page-turner. The story is also based on some real life events. I’d really love to know exactly which parts of the story really happened.
Do you believe that your soul mate is out there? Is there someone that you are destined to be with? Have you had visions of this person and heard their voice? That’s what happened to Katrina. And what happens when fate steps in and you meet this person and it’s instant attraction on both sides? You really need to read this book to get the answers to these questions.
I adored Kat and TY’s story. I fell in love with both characters instantly and was swept along with their amazing story.
100% recommend!

Master Tuscano: Dark Vampire Romance (Masters of the Consulate Book 2)Master Tuscano: Dark Vampire Romance by Sylvia Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sylvia Black has hit home with another winner. Master Tuscano will have you on the edge of your seat. It picks up where Master Descalia left off. Delilah is off trying to get revenge on her own and ends up in several pickles of her own. Christian has to come to her rescue. I caught myself gasping and just feeling all the emotions as I was reading their adventures. It’s got witches, vampires, fairies, etc. Who doesn’t love paranormal stories? You must pick up this book and read the adventures of Master Tuscano and Delilah. You won’t be disappointed.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Charlie and Tank have known each other for all their lives. These two are like two soulmates that take forever to realize that they are meant for each other. Having been friends since they were young, they have always been part of each other’s lives. A bad decision on the night of Tank’s father’s funeral tears them apart for eight years. After cheating relationships, failed attempts to see one another, fate brought them back together. Charlie has returned home to work at the local hospital. Tank has a chance for redemption. This book is fantastic. Charlie and Tank work through lies, challenges and health crisis. They even work through brothers that are best friends with Tank. The humor is blended in nicely. You’ll love to see how things turn out with Justin, Tank and Charlie. That had me falling off my chair laughing. The book is very entertaining with some romance, a a little steam and some drama. You might get a happy ending with a cliffhanger. This is book 1 of a series and I’m dying for Book 2 because I want to see what happens next.

Vanessa is back, along with Grey, Raef, Aroz and a colorful cast of characters. Vanessa gave her soul to Grey in order to save Piper from Cancer. Now Vanessa is causing a little change and problems in Elysium/the Underworld. Hazel Storm has done it again. She has continued again the wonderfully funny story that leaves you chuckling as you follow the misadventures of Vanessa trying to adjust to her new “life.” A little steamy romance thrown in is awesome too. The repartee among all the players just flows smooth. The POV chapters run like a river back and forth. I highly recommend this book.

BOY RELEASED (BOY SERIES BOOK 2) by JD Spero – Review by Shelly Kittell

Boy ReleasedBoy Released by J.D. Spero
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was just as intense as the first one. Ten years later, Ty has been released and everyone is living and working at a motel that Marcella and Bernie bought. They are dealing with the aftermath of the trial and other items. Hen is a couple of months of coming into his inheritance. He just wants to do what’s right. Ty just wants to feel normal. One night a fat punk comes in and attacks Marcella. The family is put into turmoil again dealing with this as the police are trying to investigate. The family, except Marcella, feels Ty did it. Marcella said it wasn’t him. Oh, you will feel as shocked as I did with that surprise. Again, the author fills the book with twists and turns that will make you feel like you are on a mountain road (but they all tie nicely together). She does a wonderful job again of relating facts of schizophrenia and the law and mental system. It truly is a great book. Wonderful characters and a really intense plot that keep you wanting to never put it down. I read it in a day because I couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend this book.

Please excuse me while I go grab book two!!……. This book is so amazing! The way the author builds up his characters is wonderful. You can envision this unfolding! I didn’t want to put it down once I got into it. Definitely a page turner here!! I haven’t read many sci-fi type books, but I really enjoyed this one. Traveling through space time, meeting each character, and following along while their adventures unfold was very entertaining. I would definitely recommend this book to sci-fi lovers!!

The Third Nanny (Secrets of Redemption) by Michele PW (Pariza Wacek) – Review by Kayla Bullock

The Third NannyThe Third Nanny by Michele Pariza Wacek
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Third Nanny by Michele Pariza Wacek introduces us to Janey, college student, future psychologist with no family left. Her parents are gone, and her only sibling, Kelly, disappeared 8 years ago. But one day, Janey receives a cryptic letter from Kelly-claiming she is in danger…and then, Kelly disappears again. Determined to not lose her again, Janey tracks down her previous employer and takes her job–as a nanny for Max and Julia. But things aren’t always what the seem. The family has secrets–ones that might just make Janey disappear too!

Oh my gosh! This novel is a 5/5 stars. I wish I could rate it higher. The character building is great, Janey is a likeable protagonist, and the story flows really well. The ending was mind blowing–completely unexpected twists and turns! Just when you think everything has been revealed, there’s more! A+ writing. I am so excited to read the other books in the Secrets of Redemption series! This book is a must read for any psychological thriller fans!

Houses of Deception (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 6) by Cynthia Hamilton

I can’t believe we are already six books in on this series.  I started this series looking for something different than my normal book and boy am I glad I did.

I have enjoyed each one of these books for different reasons. In this one was how Maddie and Mike fed off one another.   They like many couples can almost read each other’s minds and definitely read the others body language.

There was so much to keep up with since there were two different cases but once again they figure out what’s going on in each one though they were working them simultaneously.  I try and figure out the twists and responsible party but I was surprised by conclusion of each case.

I’m so glad to see there will be another book coming in the future.

Remember His Name (Remember My Name Series Book 2) by Laurencia Hoffman – Review by Beverly Finnie

Remember His Name (Remember My Name, #2)Remember His Name by Laurencia Hoffman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Remember His Name is book 2 in the series by Laurencia Hoffman. Her Characters and story are extremely well written. Yes this book ties into her first book Remember My Name, but I don’t feel you have to read that book as well though you SHOULD, to enjoy this one. This story does contain potential trigger warnings early on, but it’s not a theme throughout the entire book.

The book specifically focuses on Wren as an 8 year old boy to the present day, who lives the life of an empath. (Side note: For anyone who doesn’t know what an empath is, it’s someone that feeds off of other people’s energy. Which is something that could be absolutely rewarding but also weigh very heavily on them.)
We follow Wren through his emotional turmoil after his husband is murdered.

When he stumbles upon Adam his life changes, and he starts to live life again, despite knowing his fate. Adam helps him in his quest to find out who murdered his husband, before the murderer gets to them.

Does Wren find the guy who murdered his husband? Does he get the opportunity to clear his name and prove he’s a good person? All those answers and more will be found throughout your book journey with Wren. Again it’s another well written book by author Laurencia Hoffman and I encourage each and everyone of you to give it a chance. You will not be disappointed!

The Heart of Baker’s Bay by Danielle Jacks

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Jacks. Each book seems to get better. The more I read the more I fall in love with the author. I highly recommend you read any of her books.

Jody has gotten fired from another job. Now her sister is mad at her because she can’t keep a job. Her grandmother is now hurt and her sister can’t make it down to help. Going down herself might be what’s best for everyone. The quote I chose for Jody is: “Don’t call me that, you’re not my mother. I was on a trial. The probation period has come to an end which means I’m free to go. I didn’t do anything.”

Adam has always kept his head down when it comes to new people in town. But when Mrs. Evans needs help, he’s there to help out. He keeps calling Hannah hoping to get her to come down, but he wasn’t expecting Jody to be the one to show up. The quote I chose for Adam is: “I need to get a move on if I want to finish my round before teatime. I’ll check in with you tomorrow morning unless you need anything else.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

Oh my! This is one of the hottest vampire romances I’ve read this year. This author has just knocked overtaken the top spot on my favorites list for vampire romance. Well done on the characters. They are even written hot, steamy and with lots of personality. I love it when a book feels like I am making my own show up in my head. I can just picture all of this.. The action is constant. The drama is great. Location is perfect. Las Vegas is the perfect spot to have full of vampires. The plot is such that you just can’t set your Kindle down. I had to go back and forth between my phone and Kindle so that I could keep reading wherever I was. You just have to read this book. I can’t give enough praise to this. And, c’mon, if you like book boyfriends, Sylvia always gives good. Highly recommended.

Drifting, Falling -- Diary of a Call Girl SuicideDrifting, Falling — Diary of a Call Girl Suicide by A.J. Ullman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Intriguing work of fiction. Written as a POV diary, the author gives us a look inside the mental health of a person with suicidal issues. We see her story and her psychiatrist, Dr. Truscott. My heart hurt for her because I have a daughter with residual schizophrenia so even with this being a work of fiction it hit very close. The author did a fantastic job of being factual with mental illness. The characters were very realistic. Descriptions were totally realistic. Unfortunately, mental health centers are in the worst parts of town. This is a must read. I highly recommend.

Finders Reapers (New Orleans Nocturnes) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Shelly Kittell

Finders Reapers Audiobook By Carrie Pulkinen cover artI really enjoyed this read. It was quite humorous. Though the main characters are a necromancer and a reaper the author made this story quite humorous. The innuendo, the comfort food made by angels, just stuffing souls hither and there (into cats, wherever they might fit). Hey, who knew what might happen if a reaper took a vacation. I do think the story could have used more male narration. Hollie Jackson did a fine job narrating, I just felt the reaper needed a masculine voice. A perfect story set in New Orleans, home to ghosts, spirits and haunted everything. You really should read this story if you are looking for a fun cozy mystery. You’ll get a chuckle and a mystery to solve. I will be looking for more by the author to read.

Journeys Through SpaceTime (Journeys Through Book 1) by James Talisman – Review by Angela Shirley

Journeys Through SpaceTimeJourneys Through SpaceTime by James Talisman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

One voice links the multiple beings from multiply dimensions but can they find the meaning behind it.

Can they with help from special mentors along the way battle against the evil which is trying to destroy them and overcome to help the good win.

I have to say this is not normally a genre that interests me at all but I was recommended it to read and although at first it took a few chapters to get into it I thoroughly enjoyed the overall story. The book opens up to make you think about your views and aspects of multi realities and space and it was a brilliant world that was conjured up with the pages of this book.

I do have to say if you are not good at reading or following multiply perspectives and narratives in a book this may not be a book for you. Although this add the dimension to the book that I really enjoyed. The characters where so different and unique in the way they were portrayed and written that the story flowed brilliantly and engaging.

As this the first book in this authors collection I thought it was a great effort and will continue to read the next book in this progression through reality.

Surprising until the very end! I adore books that keep you guessing, and Michele PW kept me guessing. The Third Nanny was so thrilling to read. I quickly fell in love with Janey and wanted nothing more than to see her reunited with her sister. Every character in the book is cleverly written. Twists and turns played with my emotions like not many books can do. Just when I thought I had it figured out, I was proved wrong and surprised again. The biggest shock of all was the ending! Journeys through Spacetime is the first book in the series. It sets the tone for what to expect and boy did it deliver. This is my first sci-fi book I’ve read and I can’t wait for more. It has multiple characters in multiple universes and the way the Author gets down to the even tiniest detail is amazing. The story has danger of course, it has a lot of mystery and just a little bit of excitement. While reading the book I came to really enjoy it because it kept me on the edge of my seat. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series. I definitely feel like this book deserves 5 stars.

This book wasn’t a typical book I thought I would find myself reading, but when I picked it up off my e-shelf and started reading, I was immediately enthralled. The details are immaculate, the plot is fantastic, it’s truly a wonderful book. The story of Little Hen, his family, and other members in their community is wonderfully written. While it wasn’t a debut novel, it was the first in a series, and I intend to finish this series as we’re pulled along the story of the Trout family and the community surrounding it.

The Singer and Her Song (Empire at Twilight Book 2) by N.L. Holmes – Review by Carly Vogler

The Singer and Her Song (Empire at Twilight #2)The Singer and Her Song by N.L. Holmes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Singer and Her Song by N. L. Holmes is the second book in the Empire at Twilight series.
This is a story that quickly transports you back in time. When your world is turned upside down,
what can you do but survive? Uqnitum is in that very position and has very little to start out with.
Trying to survive after your village has been destroyed is one thing, doing it with children is
a completely different struggle.

There were plenty of times throughout the tale that I struggled with Uqnitum’s controlling behavior
and temper, but there are also some points that I completely aligned with. We are not always
perfect parents. At the end of the day, we still try to do what is best for our families.

This is definitely a story that will tug at your heart strings.

Fury of Conviction (Dragonfury Short Story Collection, #2)Fury of Conviction by Coreene Callahan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I need Book 3 Now!
Fury of Conviction by Coreen Callahan is book 2 in the “Villains” of the Dragonfury series.
Although part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone.
This is my first dragon shifter book and boy am I happy I started with one by Coreen Callahan!

This is a short story and can be read in just a couple hours. I really enjoyed the relationship between Natalie and Hamersveld.
Hamersveld is working though his own struggles, trying to decide how or if he’s going to defy the rules and help Natalie.
Being held captive, Natalie is just looking for a way out period! Little does she know; she has someone on her side to help her with that. But how far will she go?

Ending on a cliff with a steep edge, I am not so patiently waiting for the next installment of this story! I need to know!!! But in the meantime, I guess I can keep myself busy with her other books 🙂
