Jace and Cyrus are on opposite sides of a war. Watchers and demons versus Messengers. When they meet, the connection they feel is instant. I loved the relationship between these two. Their relationship is put to the test in this book and it pulls right on your heart! It ends on a cliffhanger but continues into book 2! It will make you want to immediately dive into the second book to find out what happens next!

I loved reading this historical story. This is an author that I have loved reading from the first book I picked up. I never hesitate to pick up her books for sure. This is a well written story where the author’s writing skills make the story come to life. Her attention to details made her stories realistic. This book is no different. This is a story that takes place during a time when the Germans reach France. This is a story that is written with a lot of heart and the characters emotional. A story of courage and the determination to protect a family. I enjoyed the characters and what they brought to the story. They are connectable and made the story easy and hard to put down. There is great growth of the characters and the plot throughout the story that made it entertaining. A must read story. I highly recommend this book and this author.

I really enjoyed this story. It was inspiring as much as it was heartbreaking. The things Michelle and her family went through was unimaginable and truly makes you grateful for the safe life most of us have today. I love how it is based on a true story and the author has done an amazing job with the research which truly makes this story an deep insight into that time.
We are transported into WWII, when Nazi Germany was invading many countries and what affect that on the people living in those areas.
When they take over and capture Michelle and her family they are forced to serve the Nazi in their own home. The family are forced to indure physical, mental and emotional trauma, never knowing if they were going to survive or not. One thing that comes out of this story is hope. Michelle never let’s go of her faith and the hope that one day she would be free. During this story we see her blossom through all the bad times to become a strong and inspirational woman with a story to tell. A story which will make anyone stop and think and admire the courage of the people that survived that time

My favorite era of historical fiction to read is World War Two. This book is set in a rural village of France, during the Nazi occupation. Readers follow the faith of one family, and one family member in particular. This family member eventually becomes the letter carrier for her village, and it is from this that the book’s title is derived. Heartache, love, reunions, brutality- through it all, faith is what sustains the main character.

I really enjoyed this children’s chapter book! I have read others by this author, and I enjoyed this story line especially since it had an introduction to paranormal fiction and had a mystery/suspense side to it as well! As a reader this kept my attention, and I was not able to figure out the ending. I think many younger kids reading maybe never having read a paranormal or mystery/suspense book before may become hooked with this genre! Especially since it has friendships and rumours and school and of course ballet added in as well. This being the third book in the series I still understood what was happening and it can be read as a standalone, but I am excited to go back and read the beginning of the series as well! Overall, as a children’s paranormal fiction book I would highly recommend this for young readers.

The medieval time period is one of my favorite time periods in history, so I enjoyed reading a romance from that time. This was a really captivating romance. The author does an amazing job with the story and the characters. Both of our main characters Ella and Jake are strong determined people who care about and want to protect the people they love. A chain of events leads them to start off on oppositites sides fighting for custody of Ella’s niece.
After Ella’s sister passes she is left with custody of her niece. Dealing with grief and the sudden responsibility she is shock and devastated to recieve a letter to discuss custody of Tessa to her paternal grandparents. This starts a whirlwind of emotions including the immediate attraction the the lawyer who is pursuing this case Jake Taylor.
Jake Taylor doesn’t deal in family law normally however he takes this case because he wants to save his uncle and aunt from being hurt. Unsure of whether this child is really their grandchild or someone trying to con them he heads into war to find out the truth. What he doesn’t expect is to run into Ella. He knows her love for the child is real but a part of him can’t help thinking she is behind the lie, if it is a lie. What happens next is a rollercoaster so emotions run high and secrets and lies slowly come out in the open. When torn between doing what is right by Tessa and doing what his aunty and uncle want which side will Jake choose?

I’m Not Your Difference (Fitz Series Book 4) by Theresa Sederholt. This is the 4th book in the Fitz series and it’s great. Its the story of single dad Andy Justice who is raising his daughter to try to see everyone as equal. Being a single, gay man and battling Parkinson’s disease has changed his outlook on life. Stella is the love of Andy’s life and she seems like such a perfect little girl. Andy is also dealing with the break up with Stephen who left because he couldn’t deal with Stella and her special needs ( she’s hearing impaired). Andy is trying to get on with his life but is truly broken hearted. While Stephen eventually realizes he made a mistake and tries to get them back. Will it be too late? There is also a homophobic killer on the loose that creates another level of tension for Andy. This book will keep you flipping pages late in the night. Great mystery, romance, family read!

The one thing I love is finding a great book by one of my favorite authors and an added bonus is it is a historical romance. I really love medieval England and I was besotted with this book. The author uses a very politically volatile era and aced it. I really enjoyed the complexity of the characters and the way in which all seemed to work out.
I have read a few books based in medieval England but I have to admit that this one really drew me in and I could not put it down. The chemistry between the characters is dynamic and the period in history adds drama and action to balance out the romance. I really didn’t want this book to end and I will definitely be up for more from this author. Reviewed by @caraleeloonat

The Letter Carrier by L.C. Lewis. I really enjoyed this book. I’m on a WWII kick so I was excited to read this one and it did not disappoint. The story is told thru the eyes of 11 year old Michelle Naget who is French and lives in the village of Braquis. The Nazi’s took everything from her family including her home. Her family had to serve the Nazi’s in their own home. I have learned so much reading these books about WWII and how horrible the Nazi’s treated everyone. Michelle never knew if they were going to have food to eat, water to drink or even if certain family was still alive. The abuse, emotional, physical and mentally is almost too much to bear but she survives. Holding onto her faith Michelle endures it all and comes out a very strong woman. The author writes in a way that I truly felt like I was in war torn France. I flew thru this book as quick as I could read!

Ella seems to be the most tenacious character I’ve read about in a while. She’s just lost her sister, Chrissy, after a two-year-long battle with cancer, during which Ella was the primary caretaker for both her sister and Chrissy’s daughter, Tessa. Returning back to her apartment following the funeral, she’s faced with an unexpected letter declaring an appointment Chrissy had at a Taylor’s Law Firm, the same firm that helped a greedy corporation swindle her family out of some of their farm’s acreage several years ago. This time, the family faces the threat of a custody battle over Tessa by her biological father, Drew, who seemingly wanted nothing to do with the pregnancy from the start. Things are only complicated further by letters from Chrissy posthumously delivered that imply she’s willing to give custody to Drew’s family in exchange for money. Despite her own reservations and disdain for the law firm, Ella is drawn to Jake Taylor himself, and the two exchange heated words that seem to only fan the flames of attraction between them. For Jake’s part, he’s unaware of the history between the families, but has his own reservations about Ella’s involvement in Chrissy’s “extortion plot.” There’s a lot of pushing and pulling between Ella and Jake, and when Drew finally agrees to a paternity test, things quickly cool off, much to Ella’s confusion and frustration. Drew has his own motives to pursue custody of Tessa; and after discovering the connection between Drew and Jake, Ella decides Jake is on the wrong side of her family’s best interests. She prepares for yet another legal battle against money and power, with the hopes that this fight doesn’t cost her everything she loves. The book is clever, with lovable characters, plenty of tension, and just the right amount of surprise. Some of the push-pull between Ella and Jake feels a little discombobulated, but it might just be cultural differences, as the book is set in Australia; otherwise, I found the book to be a delightfully dramatic read.

What a fantastic read! Ella is caring for her niece Tessa after the death of her sister when she finds out her sister has actually put some wheels in motion that could see her lose Tessa. Ella must navigate the turmoil that comes along with custody battles all while grieving her sister and fighting her growing attraction to Jake Taylor, who happens to be a lawyer with the company who has previously caused her family a lot of heartache. Will Jake be the reason her heart heals or will he be the reason it breaks again? This really is such a wonderfully crafted storyline with totally relatable characters that takes you on a complete rollercoaster of emotions.

Ella is trying to recover from her sister’s passing. She has her niece, Tessa, and now a letter from Taylor Law to come in for an appt. She now has to deal with paternity and custody issues from an unknown father and his parents. Jake Taylor has his hands full trying to fix the ruins that Rory left and handle the case against Drew brought by Chrissy (Ella’s deceased sister). This is a terrific story.There is lots of family drama. We have Ella, Tessa and Jake; Bronwyn and Peter; and Drew and Rory. The drama is intense and deep. It is a bit mysterious because everyone is holding out secrets. The author has written some characters that truly are relatable. I bet people will find they remind them of people they have met or know. Ella and Jake are wonderful because they put Tessa first. I love family friendly plots. I also lot plots that give characters what they deserve. A few good plot twists take care of that. The chemistry sparks about ¼ of the way in. It flickers from the beginning and you can watch it grow. These two are like a growing fire in a fireplace, warm and cozy. I love this contemporary romance and wish I could give it more than a 5 star review. It’s that good. You should read this.

This is a nonfiction biography that will truly give you a look into the WWII from when the Germans invaded France. Michelle tells us about the struggles she and her family faced in trying to just stay safe and alive. There were many struggles: not knowing if family members were alive; not knowing if they were going to have enough of anything to survive; etc. This is an emotional book because it is true. You will feel the feelings. They are trying to escape and the Germans are shooting at the road they are on while her mom is trying to deliver a friend’s baby. The one constant in this story si that Michelle never loses her faith in God. She knows that He will take care of them and provide. She was a strong child, who turned into a strong young woman and woman. She persevered a lot. She fought with the resistance. She was an amazing woman. I especially loved the letter from her daughter telling how her life turned out. I can’t describe how much this book touched me. I had great-grandparents that escaped the concentration camps so I have always read personal stories from that time in history. I want to thank the author and Michelle for sharing that story. I truly with I could give more than 5 stars. This is the best nonfiction book of 2022 that I have read this year.

This Time Around may just be my favourite story by this author to date. It is an emotional journey where my emotions were all over the place. This short story is a sweet second chance romance story and I read it in one sitting. The characters are likeable and well developed. Jane’s writing hooks her readers with her narrative that keeps you engaged all the way through. It is a short story, which makes for a quick and easy read. I wish it were longer.
Katie has returned to her hometown for a wedding only come face to face with her old boyfriend the one she left behind.
Chase has mixed emotions seeing his ex but he doesn’t have time in his life for romance. He has a much higher priority.

This book is an adventure. The messengers, the watchers, a heist. The drama, the intensity make for a great book. The characters are out of this world (no pun intended). I think the characters are so well-written. The toughness and grit they have make the actions believable. The plot is non-stop action. There are twists and subplots, yet they are intertwined and all come together to ride out fairly smooth. This book is entertaining and one I fell in love with. The action will get you right from the start. Highly recommend.
Watcher is the first book in this captivating Romeo and Juliet retelling duology. This paranormal tale is a must for supernatural lovers. It is a fairy tale with a major twist. It is a MM tale that is sexy and it is definitely original and different which is what I have come to expect from AL.
I don’t want to give too much away because AL’s stories should be discovered all by themselves.
If you love fairy tale retellings with a sexy twist, then you are certainly going to love this one.
Jace is a Watcher a fallen angel who is being hunted, on the run and hiding from the Messengers, celestial beings from another realm.
What a great story! I admit I have not read many alien stories because I felt they wouldn’t appeal to me. I think that is why this one surprised me so much. The actual storyline is so full of action that half the time I forgot this was an alien world. As for the characters they are amazing! Mia is unbelievably strong! Mental and physical. She just really stole the show! I loved her attitude and strength! Castor was something else. His fighting skills, kindness and loyalty are what impressed me about him the most.
This is the second book in the series and I gather a lot of excitement happened in book 1. We do happen to see the characters from that story. I have not read it and this one does well as a standing alone. I am pleased that I took a chance on this story. While I love romance this has a lot more suspense and drama. That made me turn the pages quicker and quicker. I would read more in this series.

As I was reading, I felt like I was transported back into high school. Every whisper from classmates that makes you anxious and feel alone… The fear of looking up and making eye contact with anyone, so you keep your head down. I read this book in just a few hours… It was so well-written and had some twists and turns I did not anticipate! Things DEFINITELY got steamy, but there was also so much love and friendship and growth in this story too.

Laurie L.C. Lewis is one writer that brings out all the feels in her work. The Letter Carrier is an historical fiction tale based on true events. It is raw, horrifying, compelling and sad story. It is set back in time when the Nazi invaded France and World War II. A time when you never knew if you would live or die by the hands of someone else. It reached into my heart and left me battered and bruised.

I don’t even know what to say about Kat and TJ. No words I have will even come close to explaining how good this book is. I was skeptical at first but kept an open mind and I’m glad I did. What an emotional rollercoaster!
This book is so well written. The characters connection is so bone deep and woven into the story very well. I seriously am speechless. I highly recommend Kat and TJ’s story!

Oh my goodness! I read this , finished it , drowned myself in comfort food and Kleenex and then read it again !
I see a little of myself in TJ as in when I love I love hard and I love with everything and I’ll will do anything for those I love and sometimes that bites me in the rear but for most part people appreciate it anyhoo I was fortunate to find my soulmate and have been blessed and happily married for 20 years 😍
I don’t think Katrina would know what real love is even it came up to her and slapped her in the face , that is till TJ comes along and shows her what life and love can be like ….
There’s a “magicalness” to Katrina that draws me in and while I understand her fears and insecurities I just wanted to shake her and tell her to wake up to what is right in front of her ….
TJ teaches and coaches so that already says a lot of them man he is and his yearns for the family , home and white picket fence and it would seem that that’s in the pipeline with Katrina …. He’s a good , kind , patient and loving man with a really big heart and any woman would thank her lucky stars to have a man like him on her side ….
I really cried hard reading this . I saw and felt love , grace , hope , heartache, redemption and so much more . I felt complete when I finished it a second time round
