When the German march across Europe reaches France, young Michelle Naget and her family join the throngs fleeing for safety. But their flight ends in capture by the Nazis, with one member of the family taken, while the rest of the family is sent back to their village of Braquis, France, to serve the enemy who has commandeered their home.

For the next four years, the Nagets live in the crosshairs of the enemy living under their roof and of the neighbors who question the family’s loyalties. Every day becomes a test of faith for Michelle-in God, in family, in the hope that the Allies will come, and in the letters from a young French rebel named Légère who promises Michelle that she will be free again.

But when the Nazis’ torment increases, and the razor-thin line between life and death narrows for the Nagets, the family’s motto, “We do what must be done,” and Michelle’s faith in God, give her the courage to face her enemy and do whatever she must to protect the family she loves.

Laurie (L.C.) Lewis is a weather-whining lover of Tom, her four kids, their spouses, and twelve amazing grandkids. She’s also crazy about crabs, nesting boxes, twinkle lights, sappy movies, and the sea. It’s documented that she’s craft-challenged and particularly lethal with a glue gun, so she set her creative juices on writing, which was less likely to burn her fingers.

Born in Baltimore, Laurie will always be a Marylander at heart, but a recent move to a house overlooking Utah Lake makes Utah her new love. Her Maryland years, spent within the exciting and history-rich corridor between Philadelphia, Baltimore, and D.C., made her a politics and history junkie. During a seven-year stint as a science-education facilitator, Laurie honed her research skills, eventually turning to writing full time.

The Letter Carrier is Laurie’s fourteenth published novel. She writes in multiple genres, penning her women’s fiction and romance novels as Laurie Lewis, and her historical fiction novels as L.C. Lewis.

She’s a RONE Award Winner (The Dragons of Alsace Farm) and was twice named a New Apple Literary Award winner in 2017 (The Dragons of Alsace Farm) and in 2018, winning Best New Fiction (Love on a Limb). She is also a BRAGG Medallion honoree, and she was twice named a Whitney Awards and USA Best Books Awards finalist.

Laurie’s next book, “Revenge Never Rests,” is a romantic suspense novel set to be released in October 2022 by Covenant Communications.

Laurie loves to hear from readers, and she invites you to join her VIP Readers’ Club or contact her at any of these locations.

Australian Jennifer Raines writes contemporary romances set mainly in Australia, but not exclusively – think Malta, Finland, New Zealand or ?. A dreamer and an optimist, her stories are a delicious cocktail of mutual respect, passion and loyalty because she still believes in happily-ever-afters. Jennifer loves those days when words flow and the joy of writing makes the hard slog worthwhile. She’s always made up stories about strangers in the street, in a café or strolling through an airport terminal; finding inspiration in snippets of conversation, news items and the sheer puzzle of human interactions.

Jennifer is a member of Romance Writers of Australia and is a three-time finalist in the Emerald competition, 2017, 2018 (Taylor’s Law) and 2022. She’s a member of Romance Writers of New Zealand, winning the Pacific Hearts competition twice, including in 2019, with Grace Under Fire, the sequel to Taylor’s Law. She’s also a member of Romance Writers of America and has been a finalist in chapter competitions in 2019, 2020 and 2021 (Taylor’s Law).

Jennifer lives in inner-city Sydney, Australia, with the requisite number of partners (1) and animals (2). Her desk overlooks a park which nourishes her soul when she raises her head from her keyboard. She gets some of her best insights during long yin yoga poses or walking—anywhere. Jennifer adores historical romance but chose to write contemporary because she thought (wrongly) it needed less research.

Saved by Love (Bellevue Bullies Book 7) by Toni Aleo – Review by Ashley Sugar

Saved by Love (Bellevue Bullies #7)Saved by Love by Toni Aleo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love this book so much! I would give this book 10 stars if I could. Reading from the POV of Evan, who’s going through a lot emotionally, has me relate to him so much. And I love that it shows that men go though things too. They have bad days. They get emotional. They have panic attacks. They get paranoid and constantly think they’re doing something wrong. He’s a good looking, extremely nice man but he’s always doubting himself. He thinks he’s not good enough for anyone or anything. And I relate to that so much, so this book was such an amazing read. I read it so quickly too!! Evan and Callie, they’re cute af together. She’s so understanding and lifts him up so much, it makes my heart melt. Callie has been through some hard times too, but that doesn’t stop her from trying to make him feel better. And Evan is there for her as well. They’re great for each other! So much support and so much love. As for Callie and her sister Aviva…AMAZING relationship. I so badly wish I had that kind of relationship with mine. They’re always there for each other and it’s amazing. You don’t see family like that anymore. Can’t forget, the spice in this book was great as well! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this book.

Castor's Kiss (Soul Bonded in the Stars # 2)Castor’s Kiss by Tai James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ok so I found this book and was in the mind set of branching out in my comfort zone of what I like to read. So I went in completely blind on this one all I knew was it was a Sci-fi Romance, and not my normal reading pleasure. But boy am I incredibly glad I took this leap of faith because this book had me completely captured from start to finish. Mia is a character that I will remember for a long time. Each character was so easy to connect with, them simply pull you into their world and you don’t want to leave. I’m so happy I found this author and can’t wait for more. Five huge stars and highly recommended.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a great clean and easy romance, with a bit of suspense added in. Everyone in this story made it an exciting read for sure. It’s on the shorter side and while that didn’t hinder the storyline in any way I just find myself wanting more time with Levi and Bella simply because I liked their story. I’m definitely excited to read more about this family. It’s got everything you need in a romantic suspense type story and characters that are so easy to connect with. Well written and paced nicely even with it being shorter it’s in no way rushed or lacking anything. Four big stars and highly recommended. Excited to read more!

Key To His Heart: Single Parent Romance

This book had me all of the place.  I couldn’t figure out what was happening between Kat and TJ but I was liking it.

Kat had a lot of changes happen over a very short period of time and I think she handled it amazingly well.   Until she didn’t and couldn’t figure out what was happening.

TJ went to do his Aunt a favor and his world changed in the best possible. I may have started crushing on him as the story went on.  Nothing hotter than a guy who will step up and help raise a child that isn’t his biologically.

I was lucky enough to find my own TJ when my daughter was little and sometimes don’t appreciate enough all he went through to adjust to no only be a spouse but also a Daddy.

This book was worth every single second I spent reading it.  I really liked all of the major characters and most of the secondary.   I will be looking to get caught up on the other books by this author.

Truth or Kill (Twisted Legends Collection, #2)Truth or Kill by A.C. Kramer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As far as I can recall this is my first book by this author. When I read the title, it caught my interest. Then the blurb cemented the need to read. Kage was highly entertaining. While Sydney is everything I love in a lead female. This book had me feeling all kinds of emotions. I was pulled in immediately and loved every second. I was honestly sad when I read the last sentence. The chemistry between the two was on fire. This will be a book I will return to in the future.

4.5 Stars

Key to His Heart by Kristina Beck packs an emotional wallop that really tugged on my heartstrings. It is a small-town contemporary romance, which is inspired by true events. The story touches on subjects that may be considered sensitive to some readers- but was done honestly and realistically. It is told from a duel POV which balances the story while giving the reader a great perspective of events. Ms. Beck has woven her story with so much heart and soul. She has crafted some very realistic characters, who have been well developed with their own personalities, quirks, and flaws. It was easy to feel for them and what they were going through. Investing in them and their story wasn’t hard- I was all-in.
Ms. Beck proves once again to be a great storyteller, constructing a plot full of complexities, connection, struggles, secrets, confusion, angst, discovery, drama, fate, chemistry, tenderness, understanding, sizzle, and romance.
A sweet story!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Kristina Beck!

Truth or Kill: A Standalone Dark Romance (Twisted Legends Collection #1) by A.C. Kramer

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Truth or Kill is a twisted spin on Truth or Dare. I love the game so I thought I would give this a chance. It had me hooked from the beginning and it was hard for me to put down. Truth or Kill is the first book in the Twisted Legends Collection.

Kage is one of the killers that is in the game, but he gets sidetracked. He finds that Sydney isn’t like the others and wonders why Becca brought her along. He likes her reckless streak and hopes that she survives the week. The quote I chose for Kage is: “Don’t thank me yet, Sydney. The night is still young, and we have to make the hike back to The Lodge.”

Sydney joins her teammate for spring break and finds herself somewhere she doesn’t belong. She should’ve known that a cabin for rich people isn’t exactly like a cabin should be. Then she meets Kage and finds him handsome. Can she survive the truth? The quote I chose for Sydney is: “We’ve been teammates for the last four years . She doesn’t act like a princess on the court. But I’ve not really seen her in this, um, element.”

Highly recommended for Dark Romantic Suspense lovers.

This was the perfect follow up to the first installment and while it is great in sequence this one can be read by itself! I absolutely enjoyed reading this book! The author did an excellent job portraying all the characters and finding just the right hook for the readers. Its almost the perfect read for teens as well. Serious issues are discussed in a way that isn’t too heavy, there’s a tad bit of drama and there’s some paranormal to make sure the story doesn’t get too serious! I look forward to reading more from this author!

Distant Memories: A Nurse Morgan Series: Book TwoDistant Memories: A Nurse Morgan Series: Book Two by Kate MacInnis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was a super fun read! I dug right into it after finishing book one. I love the story line between the hospital employees, the tight knit crew, the patients, and the extra visitors at the nurse’s house! The story is super easy to read, and there are plenty of characters to fall in love with. I love how the villain of this story is so demented and sick that she is just doing all kinds of bad things to patients in comas, and those alive as well. I don’t want to give the story away but I was not ready for the ending. I will be reading the next book in the series! This was a nice, weird, light hearted series to dig into.

This gripping physiological thrill had me hooked from page one, I just simply couldn’t put it down. Full of drama, suspense, betrayal, vengeance and more this thriller really had it all. The characters were perfect for the setting of this story, the author’s word building was wonderful, and the story was just twisted enough to keep you guessing the entire time. This isn’t typically my type of book I’m more of a YA or romance girl, however this thriller has definitely opened my eyes to what I’ve been missing.

This book is downright amazing, I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! I devoured it in a matter of hours, and it still felt like I couldn’t read fast enough! Evaline is a necromancer who loves a good mystery. She is also a very strong female lead which is very refreshing. Her father is stricter than Evaline can accept and only sees her as a future wife to someone of his choice. This is obviously not Evaline’s wishes so she takes matters into her own hands. She finds herself and her wonderful beacon, Delbert, transported to a mirror world called Londinium. They both instantly feel the danger and urgency to solve the mysterious killings by an entity known as Doctor Death. Will they be able to return to their world unharmed or will Londinium be their new, dark home? I cannot wait until Book 2 of this series! It is one I will be waiting for at the edge of my seat!

Key to His Heart is an emotional read. It is told from a dual point of view through the eyes of TJ and Katrina. The story is sweet and touching. I enjoyed getting the story from both of the main characters. It was great to see how the same story is seen through the eyes of the different characters. Love stories often deal with the situation’s timing, which this one also did. I enjoyed that the story was not outlandish or off the rails with unrealistic scenarios. I haven’t read much from this author, but I look forward to reading more from her in the future. This is a great read to grab if you need some realism and a HEA.

This was a beautiful blend of Alice in Wonderland with necromancy, magick, and darkness. The mystery that is being solved is so intriguing and really kept me on the edge of my seat- I could NOT put this book down. I LOVE Evalines character- she has so much strength and girl power. The idea of the mirror world isn’t new but the authors writing and the characters trials throughout give it a fresh take. Also- name a better villain name then Dr. Death. So many elements of this book were perfectly executed- the interactions of the characters with Evaline, her detective work, the magick, the artifact, the writing- it was all good to be honest! There were times I couldn’t figure out where the story was going to go- and that suspense is my favorite! Definitely give this one a read. 💖

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh, my goodness this story is so good. If you like to read about insta-love and soul mates with a little mystery added in, then this is definitely the book for you!

Main character, Katrina, discovers many things about herself throughout this story. One thing she discovers is how strong she is with the birth of her son, Toby. Main character, TJ, also learns a few things about himself. He learns to trust the process.

Katrina and TJ meet under strenuous circumstances and feel a connection immediately. But since both have had their hearts broken, they are leery about taking a chance on romance, even though the attraction and pull to each other is so strong.

Katrina has a few secrets that she isn’t so sure TJ can handle. And she can’t handle TJ leaving her. But her secrets are slowing killing her and those she loves. TJ knows something is going on with Katrina, but he doesn’t know how to help her, especially since she isn’t sharing her problems with him.

This story teaches the main characters and the reader to trust the process, seek help, and know that everyone is suffering from something. We are ok. You are ok.

This book is amazing. I was entranced from the minute I started reading. EmVee and Kayson seemed to have the most chemistry but then there was Silas. Rachel seems like a good friend, and then there is Megan. I don’t think any of these people are what they seem and EmVee is stuck trying to figure out why her family was brought to this town in the first place, what her dad has to do with any of it. The ending of course left me dying for more, I can’t wait to see what happens next!
