5-Stars

Irresistible Weddings (Irresistible Romance Book 4) Anthology was an engaging collection of romantic stories. It was full of beautiful weddings and creative characters. Each author gave their own personal touch to this book and I absolutely enjoyed it. I had a difficult time in taking a break from these stories. Each of them captured me and held me hostage as I read. The romance was addicting and I easily list myself in these books. My favorite story overall was by author Tamara Ferguson. Two Hearts’ Alliance was sweet. I highly recommend this anthology.

Martimus (Feisty Lawyers Book 5) by Seelie Kay – Review by Sheri Schrader

Martimus (Feisty Lawyers Book 5)Martimus by Seelie Kay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Martimus by Seelie Kay is the fifth book in the Feisty Lawyers series. This can be read as a standalone book, but I recommend reading the whole series. This is a good read with steamy romance woven into a suspenseful crime story. I enjoy how there is a nice mix between the steaminess and the suspense. Also, the characters are interesting and keep me on my toes. The stories between the books become somewhat formulaic, but the author counteracts this with good dialogue and interesting characters. I have enjoyed several of this author’s books and will be keeping her on my watch list in the future.

I loved reading the book The Equalizer: Foxxy’s Tipping Point (Foxxy: The Equalizer Book 1) by Allyson R. Abbott. I loved the character of Foxxy. She is intelligent, strong, and cares for others. She finds herself noticed by a handsome stranger who is determined that she is the one for him. Foxxy finds herself being offered hope, a new life, and revenge for what Eddie, her pimp, has done to her and others. What does the future hold for Foxxy? Will she accept the handsome stranger’s offer? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down. I grew to care about Foxxy and wanted her to be happy. I also enjoyed reading about the handsome stranger that she meets. He believes that Foxxy is the perfect woman for him. I love that the story pulled me in, and I felt like I was right there with the characters. The book has romantic moments and times that I was turning pages to find out what was going to happen next. Don’t miss out on a story that is intriguing and entertaining. I highly recommend reading it.

Be One with Me (Finding Love in Green Springs Book 2) by CA Miconi – Review by Kayla Interdonato

Be One with Me (Finding Love in Green Springs, #2)Be One with Me by C.A. Miconi
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Be One With Me is the second book in the Finding Love in Green Springs series by CA Miconi. The story opens with Sally losing her mother to cancer which leaves her alone in the world, or so she thinks. Her mother’s dying wish is for Sally to find her long lost father, who Sally believed to be dead all this time. Shortly after her mother’s death Sally is mugged in a parking garage near her business in Chicago. The knowledge of her living father and the need to not be alone drive Sally to make some major life changes. Nolan is a small town mechanic shop owner who has lost his wife to cancer. When this country boy crosses paths with the city girl Sally, sparks start to fly. Nolan enjoys their casual banter but can two polar opposites be good for each other? This novel was a heartwarming romantic novel. I loved watching the strong, independent Sally, who thought it was her against the world, start to put her guard down to let her new family and friends in. I also enjoyed watching Nolan start to open up to the possibility that there could be another woman in the world for him besides his late wife. This story was the perfect balance of emotions; there were sparks, there were laughs, there were fights, and there were tears. I look forward to reading other novels in this series.

Dace feels guilt over Arionna’s near death and is determined to keep her safe. What does the future hold for Arionna and Dace? Read this book to find out. The Matchmaker and The Marine: A Second Chance Small-Town Romance by Lucinda Race – Review by Kayla Interdonato

The Matchmaker and The Marine: A Second Chance Small-Town RomanceThe Matchmaker and The Marine: A Second Chance Small-Town Romance by Lucinda Race
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Matchmaker and The Marine: A Second Chance Small-Town Romance by Lucinda Race is a beautifully written romance novel that I didn’t want to end! Melinda Phillips is the town matchmaker who has a great track record, many of her couples have ended up marrying each other. However, she has sworn never to date again after losing her husband so she strives to find true love for her clients. That is until she encounters the most handsome Marine at a client’s wedding. Adam Bell is a retired Marine due to an injury he got while serving. Not only did he end up losing his leg but his girlfriend couldn’t cope with his new norm and left him. Adam can’t help but feel that if he lets anyone know his secret they will take pity on him. As a friendship begins between Melinda and Adam, they can’t help but wonder if they are each other’s second chance at happiness. This novel was so refreshing to read. The friendship that was created between Melinda and Adam was so innocent and sweet yet such a struggle. They learned to accept the past and move forward with their new lives. It was such a heartwarming novel to read that I truly didn’t want it to end. This was a romance novel that wasn’t full of sexy scenes and dirty talk, and honestly, I didn’t miss it one bit.

Dare Me (The Demonology Series Book One) by Felicity Brandon – Review by Angela Montoya

Dare Me (Book One in the Demonology series)Dare Me by Felicity Brandon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dare Me (The Demonology Series Book One) is my first Felicity Brandon book. She wonderfully unites together with the two sides most people tend to battle inside themselves. Finding good in the evil that confronts us, hoping there’s a redeemable quality to every person/soul/entity. And being drawn towards the dark, the “bad boy” persona or rather a demon in this scenario. When you realize you’ve sold your soul at your crossroads, do you fight it to the end or… do you lean into the curve?
Sara & Raif are sure to take you on the demonic ride of your life. Keep an eye for “friendly” family reunions…I hear just saying Beelzebub’s name aloud can conjure him to you!
I can’t wait for book two.

Boy on HoldBoy on Hold by J.D. Spero
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Boy on Hold by JD Spero. This book is geared toward young adult but I loved it and would read it again. Its the story of a single mom Marcella Trout and her boys Hen and Tyler. Tyler has just turned 17 and is the typical angry moody 17 year old. They live in a small town in the Adirondack’s. The family is very dysfunctional as are most families anymore. Anyway they have a tradition of a night called Cabbage night where kids go out and pull pranks all night. Hen has gone outside looking for a pet Hedgehog and instead sees something he will never get over. He witnesses one of his favorite people become the victim of murder and not long after his brother Tyler gets arrested for that murder. Does Hen have the answer to help his brother or did Tyler really kill his friend. As the Detectives begin to investigate some of the Trout families deep dark secrets come out. Will the Trout family survive all in one piece or will they break beyond the point of no return?

Martimus (Feisty Lawyers Book 5) by Seelie Kay – Review by Erin Wolf

Martimus (Feisty Lawyers Book 5)Martimus by Seelie Kay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I give Martimus (Feisty Lawyers Book 5) by Seelie Kay, 4 stars.

This is another great addition to a fantastic series in romantic suspense. There is plenty of action as well as the kind of romance that would make your mom blush. If you are familiar with the series, you will know how well the author blends these into a story you cannot put down. The main story in this one is generally the same yet still completely different. There is much to follow, but it is not confusing at all.

The characters are another part of what makes this book. If you have read the series, you will recognize the the, but they continue to grow and we learn so much more about some of them. You may learn that some aren’t so bad, where others are horrible.

If you are a fan of steamy suspense, this book and series are for you. It can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading them all because they are so good.

I can’t believe we are already five books into this series. This book had me trying to speed read to see what happened next and I was not disappointed.

It was nice to see what was going on with this group and see how their lives are changing.

This is was the type of book to keep you at the edge of your seat waiting to find out what happens next. From the party at the beginning to the very end you are involved and unable and unwilling to extract yourself from the story.

This is a great series and cannot recommend it enough.

This was the first one I have read in the Carolina Kisses series but I will have to go back and read the others and other titles by Sylvie Stewart as I thoroughly enjoyed New Jerk in Town! The characters were very well developed and I liked the way Sylvie revealed little bits at a time so that you learnt more about the characters as you went. I stayed up into the night reading this one as I needed to know what happened to Jill and Milo! The alternating points of view and flashbacks added to the reading experience! Highly recommended!

New Jerk in Town: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romantic Comedy (Carolina Kisses Book 2) by Sylvie Stewart

New Jerk in Town is the second book in the Carolina Kisses Series by Sylvie Stewart. This is a Enemies to Lovers romantic comedy. I absolutely loved this book. From the very beginning I was hooked and couldn’t stop reading till I finished. I’m going to be honest at first I thought Milo was an ahole , but the more I read the more I understood him. Then there’s Jill I’m going to be honest and I thought Wow this chick is something else but again more I read my opinion changed. These two clearly have a attraction between them. She blames him for crushing her dreams when they were younger. They banter back and forth and at times my heart ached for them. Milo really isn’t a bad guy. But has he changed? Can these two have a future together? Find out what happens next in this absolute must read. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

New Jerk in Town (Carolina Kisses, #2)New Jerk in Town by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

New Jerk in Town (Carolina Kisses, #2) by Sylvie Stewart was a great 5 star read.
This was a great 2nd chance romance.

Jill is back in town after drifting for a couple of months. Since her car has died she has no choice but to stay in town and she ends up getting a job at a local restaurant. What she didn’t anticipate was seeing Milo. She is looking for a place to stay and he happens to be renting a room.

Milo has his niece living with him which can be challenging at times.
When Milo sees Jill he feels like he has seen a ghost, it’s been 12 years since they last saw each other. Milo agrees to help her and things get interesting from there. Being together again helps them deal with things from the past .

Overall this was a great read, I really liked Milo and Jill. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. We get to see past and present with these two so that we can get some back history on them. I was pulled in with the authors writing and couldn’t put it down. If you’re looking for a great 2nd chance romance this is the one for you. 1-click and get started today.

What a great book Boy on Hold by JD Spero is. A good clean little who done it, although the culprits are given to you early, this story is built around giving you the clues to build the case yourself. I love how Hen comes to learn about truth and how he learns about forgiveness. The way the author shares an awareness about schizophrenia is great. I love really good stories that teach us something on the journey. And this is a good story. Even a very tasteful romance. A good clean read…. you can’t go wrong with this book.

I have to say Bravo for Megan! In Golden Void (Black Blade Book 3) by Alexander Charalambides Megan finally finds her voice. Its been quite the journey for Megan, finding her place in the world. Sometimes while reading these Black Blade books I’m not really sure what’s going on. The beauty of that is…. The characters don’t know either. But the characters are all well fleshed out, intriguing and totally believable, and the world building is superb. I loved the background on Kendrick in this book and hope there will be more to her story. Thanks for an interesting read.

New Jerk In Town by Sylvie Stewart was a great read. I love the chemistry between the two main characters Jill and Milo. They had a friendship 12 years ago and haven’t seen each other since that crazy summer. Now when Jills car breaks down as she’s passing thru, the last person she expects to see is Milo. Of course they fight when they first meet but have no choice but to speak to each when they need to. This book takes you on a roller coaster. I like how the author gives the reader the backstory to help us understand why Milo and Jill are the way they are towards each other. I really loved reading this book and have quickly become a fan of this author in the few books I have gotten to read so far!

New Jerk in Town: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romantic Comedy (Carolina Kisses Book 2) by Sylvie Stewart is a light romance with a lovely seaside setting. Milo and Jill first meet as teens when Jill, literally falls on his lap, their short-lived friendship did not end on the best of terms and when Jill finds herself in town again 12 years later Milo is the last person she expects to bump into. Jill is convinced that Milo hasn’t changed, he is still the same jerk he was when he ruined her summer dreams, but desperation puts them back in each other’s vicinity, will she change her mind. This is a funny, light-hearted romance with an interesting cast of characters. I am looking forward to reading Andie’s story in the next book.

New Jerk in Town (Carolina Kisses, #2)New Jerk in Town by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

New Jerk in Town is the first novel I’ve ready by Sylvie Stewart, but it certainly won’t be the last. I really enjoyed the characters and even though I haven’t yet read Jenna and Sam’s story or Ted and Haley’s story, I really enjoyed the world that Sylvie Stewart built for this series.

Jill and Milo met as teenagers. They slowly became friends through some miracle, but a misunderstanding by Jill caused everything they built that summer to shatter.

Milo always had a chip on his shoulder. One mistake changed everything and seemed to make things in his life much harder. But Jill was a breath of fresh air that summer.

But what happens when Jill finds herself stranded back in the same beach town. Broke and with very little options. What happens when Jill and Milo run into each other again?

I really enjoyed this story. I like that the hero, Milo, had vulnerabilities that most heroes don’t have. I like that Jill, even though independent knew when it was time to go for what she wanted. I look forward to more from Sylvie Stewart!

I loved reading the book TWO HEARTS UNSPOKEN TARGETS (Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance Book 11) by Tamara Ferguson. It is a story that includes romance, suspense, and mystery. It pulled me in, and I was hooked from the beginning. I love the characters of Captain Zach Logan and Elizabeth Bowen. Zach is searching for the next part of his life outside of the air force. He finds himself in Crystal Rock and accepts a position there at the wounded warrior facility. Then he meets Beth. Elizabeth is a woman who after losing her job gets an opportunity to relocate to Crystal Rock so that her son Kyle can go to a vocational facility. Her life is challenging as her son is severely autistic. Then she meets Zach. When they meet there is an attraction to each other that keeps growing. Zach has flashbacks of a murder. Will he be able to keep Beth and Kyle safe when the killer targets all three of them? What does the future hold for Zach, Beth, and Kyle? Read this book to find out. I grew to love the characters of Zach, Beth, and Kyle with each chapter that I read. I couldn’t help but want them to be happy. I like that Beth is a strong, intelligent, and independent woman. This story had me turning pages at times wondering what was going to happen next and then slowing down to take in the romance that is between Beth and Zach. This is an author who knows how to weave a story that I don’t want to put down until the ending page. Don’t miss out on an entertaining and romantic tale. I highly recommend reading it.

I loved reading the book The Widow: A Dark Romantic Fantasy by Naomi Valkyrie & Rebecca E. McEwen. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and I was hooked. It is a story that is dark, mysterious, and has moments that I was turning pages to find out what happens next. I loved reading about the characters of Vashti and Absalom. Vashti is grieving over the loss of her husband. She feels alone. She decides one day to venture out of her home. Then she meets Absalom. Absalom is a young man who doesn’t have a place to call home. Although he wonders about the offer that Vashti gives, of a room in exchange for companionship, however, it seems like just the answer that he is looking for. When a friend of Absalom comes into the picture the drama begins. Read this book to find out what happens. This is a story that I just was not able to put down once I started. The way the book is written I could feel the emotions of Vashti and Absalom. I grew to care about them with each chapter that I read. I also enjoyed reading about Absalom’s friend, Simeon, and how he interacted with both Absalom and Vashti. This story does have a dark atmosphere about it and there are times when I had to remind myself to breathe. Don’t miss out on a story that is intriguing and entertaining. I would highly recommend reading it.

The book The Traveler: Chimera Revolution (The Book of Eleanor 2) by Shannon Nemechek is an exciting and at times breathtaking book to read. It pulled me in right from the start and I was hooked. The story includes romance, danger, and magic. This story transports you back to 1779 Savannah with Katie and Colm. There they face deception, lies, secrets, and an old foe. Protecting the book from destruction as well as Katie being tutored in magic and trying to keep those with them alive will have Katie and Colm dodging danger. This is a story that had me turning pages to find out what was going to happen next. I love the characters of Katie and Colm and I found myself rooting for all to come out as it should. The additional characters are interesting, and I found myself enjoying reading about many of them. There are also those characters who have an agenda who I hoped would fail. The story Blessed: The Academy of the Seraph by Brandi Elledge is a book that I loved reading. It pulled me in right from the start and didn’t let me go until the final page. Will the main character be able to hide who they truly are? Their future hinges on it. Read this book to find out what happens. The author does a wonderful job in making both the story and the characters come alive. I loved that the main character is stubborn, independent, and feisty. New Jerk in Town: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romantic Comedy (Carolina Kisses Book 2)New Jerk in Town: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romantic Comedy by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

New Jerk In Town is the 2nd book in the Carolina Kisses Series. Each book is written as a stand-alone. I had not read the first book in this series and did not feel that I was missing any information from this story. This is a very well written enemies to lovers story that will keep you gripped from the very beginning.
Milo and Jill met as teenagers and their friendship was just blossoming and moving to the romance stage when Milo moved away leaving Jill devastated.
Moving on to the current day and Jill is back in town, broke and with nowhere to live, a far cry from the affluent upbringing of her teens. A chance meeting on her return has Milo offering her a place to live as she’s been staying in a seedy motel in a less than savoury part of town.
I loved Milo and Jill’s characters. Both have very strong personalities and they clash on just about every little detail. The simmering attraction to each other is bubbling under the surface as Jill fights her body’s reaction everytime she’s close to Milo.
This book has a very good, well written storyline centred around Milo’s career in diving and this plays out alongside the romance between the pair. I really liked that this book had a great storyline running through it that kept me entertained and wanting to keep reading to see what happened next and how this story ended.
I recommend this book 100%

Dead Magic (The Sanctuary Chronicles Book 3) by India Kells – Review by Angela Hayes

Dead Magic (The Sanctuary Chronicles #3)Dead Magic by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Brilliant Stars

OMG!!! I was sooooo excited to finally get my hands on this book. The Sanctuary Chronicles series is one of my all-time favourites!!! I love everything India Kells writes, and have read all her books- but this is hands down my favourite series of hers! I couldn’t wait to dive in, and devoured it in an afternoon.
Dead Magic is the highly anticipated third book in The Sanctuary Chronicles by India Kells. I love that we finally get Finn and Violet’s story. Having met them both in the previous books, I was immediately intrigued by them and wanted to know more. Hello- hunky vampire and a beautiful and powerful witch, do I need to say more. I wasn’t sure the book would live up to my extremely high expectations, but I should never have doubted Ms. Kells, as this book is every bit as good as the previous books, if not better. The story is extremely well woven and completely enchanted me right from the beginning, holding me spellbound right till the last word. Ms. Kells weaves a breathtaking paranormal romance with fantasy, vampires, witches, werewolves/shifters, necromancers, magic, danger, suspense, intrigue, drama, mystery, sinister plots, hidden agendas, black magic, curses, murders, and a race against time.
This story could be read as a standalone, but I really recommend reading the first two books before diving into this one- as there are a lot of recurring characters in this story who we get to meet in the previous books- as well as getting helpful backstory and character information. Not to mention that they are both exceptionally good stories in their own rights. If you love fantasy, paranormal stories, with suspense and a sizzling romance- I cannot recommend this book/series highly enough!
The story is so superbly written, wonderfully detailed, with vivid descriptions that help to bring everything into being. One of the things I have learned about Ms. Kells is that her stories are never simple, there are layers and complexities to everything. There is definitely a lot more to Finn, Violet, and their story. But with time running out they are going to have to work together to get to the bottom of it all and find a solution, before it’s too late.
Spellbinding reading!!!!

Thank you, India Kells!

Dead Magic (The Sanctuary Chronicles, Book 3) by India Kells – Review by Angela Montoya

Dead Magic (The Sanctuary Chronicles #3)Dead Magic by India Kells
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dead Magic: (The Sanctuary Chronicles #3) by India Kells is a great paranormal romance. Although this is the third book in The Sanctuary Chronicles, this is the first book I’ve read of the series. I didn’t find myself confused or missing out on parts of the story; though I’m sure had I read them in order, I would have felt more of a connection in regards to the other characters.
India gave us such well-developed characters that bring the story to life so beautifully! She writes characters that are easy to connect to.
I loved reading about Finn(one of the oldest vampires to walk the earth) and Violet(a powerful witch, with deep-rooted trust issues where vampires are concerned). Violet and Finn just worked so well together, and you could feel their connection despite how hard they fought against it.
I fell in love with their journey, and can’t wait to discover more from the Sanctuary in the upcoming book(s).

Another Yesterday (Seashells and Second Chances Collection Book 2) by Angela Christina Archer – Review by Anantha Rusum

Another Yesterday (Seashells and Second Chances Collection Book 2)Another Yesterday by Angela Christina Archer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is an emotional story about two women, mother and daughter, their struggles and their ups and downs in life. In the year 1966 Maggie moves to a small-town Shadow Brook where she dreams of starting a family and a future. She leaves all her past behind, and rebuilds her life with a little inn. She hides her past behind in journals and letters, hidden in the attic of the inn. Thirty years after, her daughter, Rachel is a happy person living a successful life in New York. Suddenly her life turns upside down, and she is forced to seek solace in Shadow Brook again, where she has to encounter her past. As she renovates her inn, she finds those letters her mother had hidden long back. How does Rachel react to those letters? What do these both women do when life throws them a second chance? That forms the crux of the story.
This is a heartwarming story of hardships and forgiveness. It is a tale of two women and it is very easy to connect with their characters. The story is told from different perspectives, and it jumps back and forth from mother to daughter. It does have a dash of humor but there are emotional scenes which bring a lump in your throat. The story has all elements in it which makes it a gripping read, small town setting, love, heartbreak, forgiveness and a chance of a second love. Definitely a good book!
