The Rise Of Manifesto The Great: A Sci Fi Comedy Where Women Wear The Trousers (Planet Hy Man #1) by Kerrie Noor makes for quite an original read. It is a Sci-fi romantic comedy- a battle of the sexes set on the planet Hy Man. It is quite spoofy and satirical- which did make for some humorous moments. But I found it all a little overdone- and because of that I had trouble connecting with the story and the characters. I spent a lot of the story frustrated with the whole spoofyness. Maybe that is because I have just come from reading a dark detective series, so I will give this book the benefit of doubt and go back to reread it in a month or two, to see if I still feel the same way. I would like to explore more of Ms. Noor’s work to get a better feel of her style and what else she has done, so stay tuned.

House In The Woods by Jessica Aiken-Hall is a tightly woven and very engrossing mystery jam-packed full of suspense. As expected, Ms. Aiken-Hall completely captured my attention- keeping me glued to the pages, avidly reading along to find out what happens. The story is full of intrigue, secrets, tension, emotion, and surprising developments that made the story quite unpredictable. This is very cleverly crafted- and made for another riveting read- I can always count on Ms. Aiken-Hall to deliver an unputdownable read! I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!

She can usually find jars of jam which remind her of home wherever she goes. As well as writing books and reading, Manda loves walking her dogs and keeping fit. She lives with her husband of over 30 years, who, along with her son, is her greatest fan and supporter.
Manda is thankful that one of the more unusual, and at the time unpleasant, turns her life took, now enables her to spend her time writing. Confirming, in her view, every cloud has a silver lining.

The Divine Devils is the first book in The Divine Devils series by R. Weir. This is a fantastic crime thriller- with plenty of mystery, suspense, danger, hidden agendas, investigation, intrigue, tension, violence, and action. I love Mr. Weir’s Jarvis Mann Detective series, so when I saw that he had written a new book, and it’s the start of a brilliant new series, I couldn’t one-click fast enough. I also love that Hunter is quite different to Jarvis (from Mr. Weir’s Jarvis Mann Detective series)- bringing his own complexities, quirks and flaws to this new series. I was completely invested in the story, and the characters, right from the beginning- following along trying to figure everything out as the story unravelled. Hunter Divine is a former US Marshall who comes with a lot of baggage. He moves from job to job, pay check to pay check, trying to forget the past- but not able to truly move on; self-medicating with sex and alcohol as a means to try to get by. He is definitely a little broken- but remains great at his job. So, when a former lover contacts him with an urgent request, he can’t say no. Her children have been targeted by kidnappers who have struck twice now- the children barely escaping the latest attempt. Hunter will need to dig deep and use all his skill and training in order to keep the children safe and figure out who is behind the kidnapping plots, and why the children were targeted in the first place. So, buckle up, and get set for a thrilling ride. I know I keep saying this, but Mr. Weir has out done himself yet again! This is such a superb story that held me in its grip from beginning to end. It is a complex and multi-layered storyline, resulting in quite a gripping tale. I think it’s definitely one of the top three reads of his, so far! Bring on Book#2! Brilliant!

Amy McKinley has stolen my heart again with this book! She always writes with such beautiful detail it feels like You’re right there in Italy with them. The story between Gianna and Sergio was the very definition of romance, and the way she was able to bring the past and present together was very well done! I had so much fun in this book and I’ll always be on the look out for her others!

Set in Stone by Dakota Willink is the 3rd book in The Stone Series. I love the the story and the characters are well written. Both Alexander and Krystina seem to have it all but we find out that things aren’t quite right between them. Both of them are hiding some secrets from their past. Will the secrets destroy their relationship or will they work through it? The story has romance, suspense, a bit of intrigue, and some steamy scenes. The most unfortunate part for me is that I did not read the first two books in this series. It took me a little while to get a feel for Alexander and Krystina’s relationship but overall I really enjoyed the book. I will be checking out the fist two books very soon!
Lacy Laurel and Jeffrey Kafer are the narrators of this audio book. They both did a wonderful job keeping the different characters easy to recognize and understand. The book is written so we are treated to both Alexander and Krystina’s side of the story. The wonderful narration made this book extra a special!

The new stories of the frightening ways love can manifest are interspersed with haunting love poems. Each tale takes you to the edge of your seat. Will strangers risk everything for each other? One of the stories that had me gripping my pillow was Reflections of the Past by Melody Calder. Mary’s story started with feeling out of place where she should have felt at home. The chances Mary took to find belonging led her to real love. When everything in Mary’s world is destroyed, she finds a way to get her revenge. Sins of the past haunt Lia in ways she doesn’t even know yet as Mary’s vengeance collides with Lia’s heart. With Lia’s understanding, Mary is finally able to find peace.
The other story that caused my pillow distress was Runes and Fangs by Victoria Larque. Kayla has every reason to hate after what she has gone through. Minette should feel the same way but doesn’t let her light fade because of the actions of others. When Kayla first meets Minette, Minette should cower but doesn’t. Minette finds it within herself to be strong. Kayla should despise Minette but can’t seem to feel anything other than protective. Together, they seem to be able to accomplish the impossible while finding love.

Lindsay Hager has done it again. I loved the first book in the Star Series, and “Competing with the Star” is even better. This book is great for young teenage girls who are looking to find their place in the world of high school. The characters are well developed and their stories are those that you could find in any high school in America.
Starting her sophomore year, Hadley finally feels like she has everything she ever wanted – a good group of friends and a boyfriend. Hadley had always felt ugly and belittled in school up until this year. Now, one of her best friends was a TV actress, Simone Henderson. And her boyfriend is well…perfect. Nick likes baseball and basketball which she does as well, and she can just be herself without all the pretending that other girls do.
Then, Hadley overhears a conversation in the bathroom about Simone and Nick. Her worst fears have reared an ugly head. Only nothing has really happened except now she doesn’t know what to feel. Moonlit Kiss: A Venice Romance (Moonlit Destination series) by Amy McKinley was a really good read. I was highly anticipating this book release, because her other books engrossed me so much when I read them them I just can’t get enough. I think I had an off reading day however, because this one just didn’t seem as exciting to me. The story was incredible, and it had an amazing romance that absolutely transcended time! This book reminded me so much of one of her other books, Fake Fiance with the past lives bit. I just personally felt like this one drug on a little bit, and I had trouble becoming enraptured like I have with her other ones. I think it was because I couldn’t get the scenery to set itself in my mind and because of that I drifted a lot. But either this book had an incredible storyline and I can’t wait the next book from McKinley in the future!

Tally and the Angel is the first book in the India series by Eleanor Dixon and is a book for kids 8-12 and family. Eleanor has beautifully written this paranormal fantasy tale and it will be liked by young and old. It is easy to picture the world and characters that Eleanor has woven due to her vivid writings, and you will be delightfully drawn into solving the mystery along with a brave little girl, Tally. This little gem is centred around Tally who is 13 years old and on a trip to India with a very special necklace. She soon finds herself in the midst of a mystery and sets out to help.

Mornin the super bird is a short story with a BIG message. It’s about how we need to protect earth and do what we can to make it survive. With everyone not working to keep earth clean one day we could all go extinct just as the animals do. I really enjoyed this book! I got it for my girls and they love the pictures.

I enjoyed reading this YA book about angels vs. demons! It’s the kind of book that sticks with you when you have to put it down and do real life things… but REALLY you want to keep reading it and NOT put it down.
I appreciated that there wasn’t bad language or over sexualized characters. It is beautifully written from multiple points of view. The author did a fabulous job of writing their views in such a way that you were drawn in by each character’s thoughts. The world building was fascinating and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
This is a spin off series and I have not read the original trilogy it’s based off of but you better believe that I will be soon!

With such steamy love scenes, and great character development I can’t wait to read book 2 and see what else is going on with the Satan’s Devils motorcycle club.

Mornin the Super Bird: Mornin Finds a Way to Stop Extinction is written by Jules Heartly and illustrated by Diego A. Diaz. Mornin, the Super Bird, is out to share the message about extinction and saving nature. Mornin takes daily flights and videos of things he sees. When he notices that animals and nature are becoming extinct, he creates videos to share with his bird friends. After a while, they begin to spread the word, through these videos, to other animals and then to humans.
The writing is easy to understand. It includes lines of poetry and sing-song lyrics. It is a wonderful book to read to young children to help them understand what extinction is and how they can do their part to stop the spread.

Mornin the Super Bird by Jules Heartly was a fun quick read. I think this will make a great addition to any children’s classroom as a way to teach about the environment and extinction. The illustration and colors are vivid and exciting.
The way Mornin works to get his friends and message out is cute and very modern. I can easily see kids of today doing the same thing.

And I’m still hooked! Krysten did such a great job telling Hadley’s story and relating it to the high school relationships that I remember. It is so difficult when growing up to truly understand who your real friends are, who can be trusted, and when people are manipulating you. Hadley has to deal with a former TV star and her clique without ever knowing if any of them are truly friends. Her boyfriend Nick seems like the perfect first boyfriend for any high school girl. Jealousy and doubt are constantly on her mind and at times it seems that her worst fears are coming true. This was a great continuation of the series. I loved seeing the changes that are taking place within the girl group and watching Hadley grow more comfortable with herself and her new home. I look forward to continuing this series and seeing where everyone ends up. Keep ’em comin, Krysten!

I had no idea that this was the start of a spin-off from another story. This felt like it was perfect as a brand new book with a future sequel to explain all of the *events* that transpired when Zoey was younger. I went into this series feeling that I wouldn’t become as hooked to it as I was to other books of this type.. and I was absolutely wrong. Misty Hayes did a fantastic job of laying out the characters and the storyline in such a way that you never saw what was coming next. The beginning of the book feels slow moving but as the chapters go on, the story just keeps getting better. The ending left me desperately wishing there was more story to read. I cannot wait to read the next book!

Jessica Aiken-Hall has done it again with this novel. I can’t get over how much this resembles a true crime instead of fiction. When Molly comes home for the summer, she is in charge of taking care of her mother who is has dementia. When her mom comes up missing, she starts looking. When a missing flyer surfaces from 20 years ago, Molly decides to not only look for her mom, but to put the clues together about the other missing woman. Jessica Aiken-Hall is a wonderful author. I can not put her books down when I start reading them. From start to finish, you will be pulled right into the novel. This is one author that I can definitely recommend to readers of crime or any other novel for that matter.

R. Weir has done another fantastic novel. Weir knows how to combine suspense and mystery together. From start to finish you will be intrigued. This novel is about a bodyguard, Hunter Divine who is called to protect his ex girlfriends kids. Just like the Jarvis Mann series, this one is a must read.

Okay, books like this one are some of my favourite, I love angel and demon stories. So, going into this one I did have some expectations. The Don by Hazel Storm definitely did not disappoint. Just have to say, wow! This was a book that I enjoyed immensely, more than a lot of ones I have read recently. I was intrigued through the whole story. I read it so fast, I needed to know what happened next! The characters were very well written, they made you want them to have happy endings, cheer for them. I can’t wait to see where everything goes in the next book in the series!!

Beneath The Surface Audio Book by Amy McKinley is the third book in the Gray Ghost series. With this book you are hooked straight back into the world of the Gray Ghost team with such ease. This story slightly overlaps the previous one in the series and I love you get to see that build up to it all.
Jack and Hannah have to be one of my favourite couples – although with this series I probably say that about them all! To have a history already in place but to have to build up the trust bit by bit was such a fascinating read. What I really enjoyed about this book though is the flashbacks to Hannah’s childhood and how I kept trying to piece everything together.
I have to say that the author us struck gold with the narrator for this series too. I think I enjoy listening to these as much as I do because of her. She has a way to tell the story that just makes it so easy to become absorbed in. This is another fantastic book to another fantastic series. I am already looking forward to the next one!

This is a very dark and twisted book straight from the get-go. The obsession with fire and burning buildings, cars, and animals is heavy throughout. When 16 year-old Jameson finds a book in his attic detailing his father’s addiction to arson, he feels a connection to a man that has long been missing from his life. He is a boy who has grown up wondering what his dad might be like, and imagining who he might be. With this book, he starts to feel a connection to the mystery man, and sets about trying to follow in his pyro footsteps. The desolation of the characters in this book seeps into you; it is the deep ache of knowing yourself to be doomed. The story sometimes blindsides you with shocking events, punctuating the gloom with fresh horror. The writing skillfully conveys a lot of emotion and psychological torment. If this sounds like its up your alley, give it a go.
I truly have to say this book is unique. This book spoke volumes to me about soul mates and true love. I highly recommend this book, I absolutely loved it. Can’t wait to see what else C.R. Robertson comes up with next. I’m waiting in anticipation.

Amy McKinley is on a roll with this series. Seeing how Amy portrayed Kayla, a powerful woman ready to get out of an abusive relationship and trying to better herself in the process. She ends up living with a guy she use to and still has feelings for, her brothers best friend, Jaxon. They have some history that got a little messy. But past is past right??? Maybe! While Kayla is trying to get her life together she has to dodge her horrible ex. Jaxon’s previous job is bringing up some mystery trouble that he is trying to figure out. All this going on can Jaxon keep Kayla safe and keep her in his lifer this time around! Can’t wait till the next book.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. It is full of twists and turns that keeps you guessing from start to finish. You don’t know who to trust, and who is actually behind the plot to kidnap the children or the reason why? The author takes you on a rollercoaster of ride as you work your way through with the lead character to try and work out who is out to get the kids before its too late.
I love how the author takes you in depth with all the characters with regards to their pasts and how they find themselves in the position they are in now. The main person of the Divine Devils is Hunter. His character is really well written. He’s no angel, he has a past that he isn’t proud of and things he needs to change to make his future better but is commitment to this job shines through from the second he takes over.
This book will have you gripped from the first page and with the fast pace of the book you definately won’t be able to put it down until the end. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

The Divine Devils (The Divine Devils Book 1) by R Weir. This is a really great read. Its the story of Hunter Divine who is an ex US Marshall who was let go due to politics and stuff way beyond his control. When an ex lover of his has her kids kidnapped he knows he has to save them. This person from Hunter’s past, a crazy painter who has now become very successful in business is the one that has kidnapped the kids to get at Hunter. Hunter must use every bit of knowledge he got from being a Marshall to try to find this guy and get the kids back safely. This book is a fast paced, with tons of action and lots of great characters from Hunter’s team. You have to pay attention to the details or you will get lost but this book kept me turning pages as fast as I could. If you love fast paced, action do yourself a favor and read The Divine Devils today!
