Chased (A Cambridge Men of Honour Novel Book One): A Dark Mafia Bad Boy Romance by Felicity Brandon

This is another great read by Brandon. Ms. Brandon has a way of creating characters that you love to hate. And hate to love.

Allegra is a law student. Going out for a walk during the pandemic leads her to meet Chase. Meeting Chase was the best and worst thing in her life. The quote I chose for Allegra is: “Do you usually ask for what you want? You seem like the sort of man who just takes what he wants.”

Chase is above the law. He’s head of the Men of Honour and doesn’t need a woman. Well, he doesn’t think he needs a woman until he meets Allegra. She challenges him and he likes it. The quote I chose for Chase is: “You. Are. Safe. Nothing is going to change that…I’m not going to let it.”

Highly recommended for Romantic Suspense lovers.

WILD VAMP (JADED VAMP BOOK 2) by L.D. WOSAR – Review by Tamisha Janay

Wild Vamp: Jaded Vamp Series Book 2Wild Vamp: Jaded Vamp Series Book 2 by L.D. Wosar
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wild Vamp is the second of four books in this series by LD Wosar. It was a fantastic read from start to finish. The time jumps definitely made me feel like I was missing out on some pertinent information from each character involved, but everything was explained pretty well and it made for a swift read – which I loved. Kaysee and Dominic have been through hell and back and are now going through hell again. There was so much in this book that I wasn’t expecting, but I was pleasantly surprised at each turn of events. I sped through books one and two without putting them down and I am so excited to finish the series and learn what happens to our beloved characters!

Terrifying Love: A Halloween Anthology

4 out of 5 stars

The new stories of the frightening ways love can manifest are interspersed with haunting love poems. Each tale takes you to the edge of your seat. Will strangers risk everything for each other? Does true love last through the centuries? Can beings see past their differences or long-held beliefs to find true love?

One of the stories that had me gripping my pillow was Reflections of the Past by Melody Calder. Mary’s story started with feeling out of place where she should have felt at home. The chances Mary took to find belonging led her to real love. When everything in Mary’s world is destroyed, she finds a way to get her revenge. Sins of the past haunt Lia in ways she doesn’t even know yet as Mary’s vengeance collides with Lia’s heart. With Lia’s understanding, Mary is finally able to find peace.

The other story that caused my pillow distress was Runes and Fangs by Victoria Larque. Kayla has every reason to hate after what she has gone through. Minette should feel the same way but doesn’t let her light fade because of the actions of others. When Kayla first meets Minette, Minette should cower but doesn’t. Minette finds it within herself to be strong. Kayla should despise Minette but can’t seem to feel anything other than protective. Together, they seem to be able to accomplish the impossible while finding love.

Which story will be your favorite?

The Hunter's Heart (Love After Earth)The Hunter’s Heart by Astrid Sharpe
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Hunter’s Heart (Love After Earth) by Astrid Sharpe is a fantastic debut story that is unlike anything I have read before! This author has created a story that is imaginative and original. This is the kind of book that took me by surprise and I ended up reading in one sitting. I just had to read more about the tribe and Zensah.
I thought the writing style was fantastic. It seemed to use creative word play that helped to make the whole book come alive. It was developed slowly and meticulously so that I would be enjoy fully.
This is a fantastic book and I am already excited about what is next from this author.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dragons by Ty Drago is a thrilling sci-do adventure that pulled me in right from the start. Andy was such a good character to read about – it really felt like you watched him developed as the story progresses. I didn’t know what to expect with this book as it is a new author to me but I was pleasantly surprised with how taken I was worn the book. I found it to be quite exciting and fast paced. I didn’t realise they it was a YA story when I started reading but I actually think that made it more likeable. The characters were all interesting, although I enjoyed reading about Andy the others all added something to that story. This is a well written book and a great new author I am excited to discover.

ChasedChased by Felicity Brandon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I had such a good time entering this world of bad boys who answer to no one. Chase is sexy, fun, and demands respect as soon as he walks through the door. Allegra is a smart girl with good intentions who really caught the attention of the worst bad boy we all love to hate. I loved watching the dynamic between Chase and Allegra, he is a downright criminal, and here she is studying law. The tension between them is so palpable I could not help but read some of their conversations and encounters repeatedly. This is the first book by Felicity Brandon that I have gotten the chance to read, and I will most certainly be coming back for more.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I’ve read by Brooke May, and it certainly won’t be the last. This book was everything I hoped it would be from reading the blurb and more. So many feels!

Patience was the perfect name for her, because she truly was the epitome of patient. Life kept throwing her hardships and she kept pushing through until she found her way again. And Duke! Gahhh, I loved Duke. I wanted to throttle him for not going back to her sooner but he was so incredibly sweet. The chemistry between them was strong, and pure. I cried through parts and cheered in others. Perfection! If I could rate this book 10 stars I would!

Turning Wheels (Satan’s Devils MC #1) by Manda Mellett – Review by Kerry Carr

Turning Wheels (Satan's Devils MC, #1)Turning Wheels by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow what a book. This isn’t the first  book I have read by Manda  Mellett but as with previous ones I have really enjoyed it. I love the whole MC culture and mixed with romance it’s a perfect combination.

What I found really good about this book is it is full of emotion. Some parts are hard to read such as Sophie’s feelings about being an amputee. That was handled with such care and though that you could really imagine and feel how scared and vulnerable she was at times and how hopeless she felt.
With dangers lurking around every corner she feels so out of control of her life and vulnerable.

The relationship between her and Wraith is one of passion and respect. Wraith has is fiercely protective of her and won’t allow anyone to harm her however some things are beyond her control. He tries so hard to help Sophie see her worth and to make her believe that his feelings are true. You can feel his frustration when she doubts herself and him.

This book is a wild ride as two people from 2 very different backgrounds get thrown together and somehow it works. With the help of the other  brothers in the MC Sophie starts to regain herself again which only makes Wraith love her all the more.

Blue Summer Part Two by Everly Taylor – Review by Lisa Helmick

Blue Summer Part TwoBlue Summer Part Two by Everly Taylor
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is the second and a continuation fro part one. While it is a nice short story I struggled to connect to the characters. I almost think with this many main ones a longer story would have given me a chance to get to know more and feel more connected to them. Maybe a part of each as a couple or more than just a bio.

The bad guy is classic…pure evil. I did enjoy each of these characters and still liked Heath the best. This is an okay story and perfect for a short quick read.

Turning Wheels (Satan’s Devils MC #1) by Manda Mellett – Review by Lisa Helmick

Turning Wheels (Satan's Devils MC, #1)Turning Wheels by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this story. It is a wonderful introduction into the Satan’s Devils. I have read many others of this series but not this one. This one answered questions to things I have acquired from the others in the series. I LOvE the characters! That Sophie is one courageous lady. What she went through and survived?!? Wow! I loved when she was talking her “British” words to the boys. Fun! Wraith fell and fell hard. I admire him for not choosing a Sweet butt ever since he met Sophie. It is interesting seeing him as a single because I have only ever known him as married with kids. Plus I liked seeing his relationship with Red (from Vegas chapter) and how long they have known each other.

I enjoyed seeing the Devils in their earlier days. Before they all found their women. I am looking forward to Drummers book next.

Bound by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops Series Book 2) by Amy McKinley – Review by Sarah Devereaux

Bound by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, #2)Bound by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bound by Secrets, (Deadly Isles Special Ops #2) is the second book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series.
After reading the first book I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the second, and I was not in any way disappointed with the read. The author has done it again, bringing the characters to life and making you feel like you are sitting right there alongside them!
This second book in the series features Kayla Kane, a book reviewer, and Jaxon Hale former Navy SEAL. The two know each other well, he is her deceased brother’s best friend from high school, and she is the “kid” sister he never looked twice at until they shared a single night together after graduation. That night everything changed for both, and secrets were kept.
A decade later, Kayla is on the run from an abusive ex-boyfriend and needs a safe place to hide. Not wanting to risk her family’s lives, she runs into Jaxon and asks to borrow his spare room until she can get herself settled.
Sharing accommodations turns out to be more difficult that these two thought, and secrets are revealed that bring out hurt and pain but are the only way the 2 can move forward.
Just like the first, this book has many twists and turns. I enjoyed every turn it took and did not see what was coming, which is one of the things I love about this author! I also enjoyed that the characters from the first book popped in every once and a while to tie the series together. I thought this was a great way that the author was able to make the books a series without the same consistent characters. It really allows the reader to enter a new story with old favorites included.
Overall, this is a great suspense romance novel that I really enjoyed, and cannot wait to read the conclusion and find out what happens! I think I may have found a new favorite author!

Sexy Drug (Losing My Heart Book 1) by Melody Calder – Review by Shelly Kittell

Sexy Drug (Losing My Heart #1)Sexy Drug by Melody Calder
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ramone finds himself bodyguard to spoiled socialite Katie after she is shot. Katie is not truly spoiled. She really is a selfless person that helps those in need but with a criminal drug lord for a father most people assume the worse. As the two get to know each other, they find things changing not for the better. Katie’s being forced to marry a criminal because her dad “owns” her. Can Ramone help her? Will Katie be able to break free? Oh my goodness, this book left me holding my breath in anticipation of what came next. From the beginning scene of the shooting to Katie being sent to meet her groom, the action never stopped. Ramone seemed like an undercover agent? That was a question that I’m looking forward to seeing answered. Katie came into her strength as the book came along. I don’t know if I could have stood up to my crime lord dad. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

I’ll See You Again (Reigning Hearts, Book Four) AUDIO BOOK by KG Fletcher – Review by Heather Lovelace

FIVE STARS

Fletcher continues to completely wreck me in the most beautiful way with her work. And just when you think she cannot possibly do any better, she has to go and be a brilliant narrator as well. Oh my heart. Nicky and Reid explode off the pages of this book and leap off the audio. And I’m not quite sure I understand how Fletcher so brilliantly switches between the characters as well as balances the emotional undercurrent of the entire store. Amber is the perfect best friend by the way – her spunk is just the perfect balance to the story. I could gush for an hour on the brilliance of this book and this author. And I likely will. But to save your eyes and your patience, let me summarize to say, if you are a lover of contemporary romance, filled with emotion and music and charm and stories that will reach into your heart and leave you breathless, immediately add this book and author to your one click list. Whether printed word or audio, you will not go wrong with this gifted author’s work. My ONLY complaint is that the story ends at all. Thank you SO much, Ms. Fletcher, for sharing these beautiful stories and characters with us.

Next Door to a Star (The Star Series) by Krysten Lindsay Hager – Review by Georgette Quinn

Next Door to a StarNext Door to a Star by Krysten Lindsay Hager
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Krysten Lindsay Hager does a great job capturing the pressure we put on ourselves to be popular and/or to fit in. This book explores what real friendship should look like. It takes a look at how new friendships and new dating relationships grow or fizzle out. The main character, Hadley, learns some tough lessons on the importance of staying true to yourself. Next Door to a Star is the first in a series that should be popular with middle school and high school students.

Stepping Stone (The Stone Series Volume 2) AUDIO BOOK by Dakota Willink – Review by Bobbi Wagner

This is the second book/audio in this series.  I loved listening to this audiobook.  It certainly made my ride to work interesting.  I highly suggest listening to the first audio before this one to help your enjoyment of this series.  I enjoyed the narrator’s voice and how they were able to bring the story to life.  It is a voice that is easy, fun and entertaining to listen to.  I am so happy I picked up the second audio in this series.  This is a story Krystina and Alexander’s story continues in this audio.  The growth and chemistry is off the charts.  They truly are great characters that I fell in love with and they just make the story for me.  I highly recommend this audio and this author.  You won’t regret picking it for sure.  Loved it!

I loved Nicky and Mac ‘s story so much. The chemistry and love just will melt your heart. This story will have you laughing, crying, red in face at times, and just in love. This is my first time listening to this authors work and I can not move fast enough to find the rest. I can’t recommend this story more! You will NOT regret it!!

Dirty Kisses and Conflicting Wishes (Kiss Me Series Book 1) by Danielle Jacks – Review by Mrs R

Dirty Kisses and Conflicting WishesDirty Kisses and Conflicting Wishes by Danielle Jacks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a standalone romance.
This book really took me on a bit of an emotional roller coaster. Will they make it, will they split, I really couldn’t tell at some points.
I loved how the characters felt so real, it wasn’t hearts, roses and instant attractions. Although there is a lot of chemistry between Damien and Zoe.
I felt like it was a more realistic relationship as it didn’t all just fit into place and be tied up with a neat bow. There were tough situations and hard decisions to make, real life made an appearance and it just added to the story.
I really did not like Damien at first, he was a bit of a jack-the-lad and was sometimes downright rude, but I think it was in part to his chaotic lifestyle. Zoe also felt a bit lost and unsure of her future.
Together they are forced to confront themselves, their future and make some tough decisions.
I enjoyed their story and will definitely read more from this author.

After suffering loss in her younger years, Kayla thought she had found love. Wrong! After finding the courage she needed to get out on her own, she returns back to her hometown and runs into her high school love, Jaxon. Jaxon is a recently discharged soldier now working as a deputy. They both have secrets they are hiding. Can they rekindle their romance and heal as they learn the secrets they both have hidden from each other? Hearfelt, warm and thrilling at the very same time, this book kept me on the edge of my seat. The twists in the plot were great. I never saw them coming. What a way to intertwine the tales! Kayla, Jaxon, Viv and Matteo were so well written. Though adults, you could picture them as the clique people they were written as. Matteo as a character broke my heart and had me sobbing. I would love to see a redemption story for him. A truly amazing book.

Mountains Wanted is book one in the Mountains series by Phoebe Alexander. I fell instantly and completely into this story. With an open mind and a burning desire, I devoured Mountains Wanted. She was not afraid to share her opinion and was comfortable in her own skin. It was a pleasure getting to know her. She was a a breath of fresh. And totally unique. James is a gorgeous military man that really raised my heartbeat and my imagination. His enigmatic energy was additive and I could not get enough. Together they were electric.

Mountains wanted was a super sexy and alluring read. Super sensual and utterly delightful. Phoebe Alexander always supplies a dramatic and titillating story. She never disappoints and just keeps getting better. 5 sexy stars.

Brink of Denial by Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus review by Jules Herbert

Brink of Denial (Sons of Sindicato #1)Brink of Denial by Cam Johns
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Brink of Denial By Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus had me totally hooked from start to finish. I have never given my family so many death stares for interrupting me while I was reading!!

This story brings us Dane Giordano, a very strong, intense man, with a wounded heart who is being shaped into the next boss for the Sindicato. Years ago he thought he had everything all planned out. He had Milana Lombardi, his very own Mafia princess that he planned to marry and together they would have it all! She had other plans though. Milana leaves to find her own life in the world of modelling and becomes Mila Blanc. She trades independence from mafia ties for the constraints put on her by her career. During all this though she never truly gets over Dane and has always believed that when she is done with her current contract she will return and once again have him for her very own.

Can Dane truly allow his VERY wounded heart to heal enough to accept her back into his life forever? Can Milana fully accept what being back in the Sindicato will mean?? With others conspiring against them both in different ways can they once and for all find true happiness in this intense world? You absolutely have to read this book…you need to know these wonderful characters and this thrilling story.

Ms Johns and Ms Jesus are truly amazing authors creating characters with so much depth and heart that with every step of their journey you are right there with them. I wanted to jump into these pages and protect them all!

The Earl’s Scandalous Wager by Wareeze Woodson – Review by Amanda Lundin

The Earl's Scandalous WagerThe Earl’s Scandalous Wager by Wareeze Woodson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a delightful story! It has the perfect ingredients of great book: romance, rags to riches, period piece, ball gowns, murder, mystery, scandal, strong characters, and a wonderful plot.

I love a good romantic mystery as well as period pieces (ball gowns and titles, I’m still a princess at heart). This book did not disappoint. It kept true to the times and language to the perfect degree that you could fully understand what they were saying and enjoy the different types of speech. The predicament in which the main characters met, their developing relationship, and trials and errors (lots of those), emotions and reactions felt very realistic and we’re so well written and thought out.

Another thing that was really neat about this book was the various character’s point of views we got to experience; which I think really added something special and unique. This sharing of view points enabled the reader to be in everyone’s thoughts and experience the emotions she allowed her characters to showcase; and boy did they have some strong feelings! There were no flat characters in this book.

I adored this book, it is definitely worth the read and I will be looking into this author for other great reads!

Enthralled from beginning to end! I love a good romance, but when you add paranormal to it, I am 100% there! I was emotionally invested in the book straight from the start. The story line is interesting, there are a few plot twists to keep you invested, and Levi is a sweet baby angel, no one can change my mind about that. The story also has a little bit of spice along with everything nice already mentioned. There is a great enemy to route against, actually more than one. The connections and relationships between several characters are also well done. Great read, needless to say I am looking forward to the next book!

In His Kiss is the first book by Ava Alise I have read. I enjoyed the complex relationship between Xia and Jordan. Having been friends from childhood, as college students they have fallen for each other but neither want to ruin the relationship they have by admitting their feelings. Deeper in this book it deals very sensitively with the subject of depression. This is a touch subject that we have a hard time dealing with even though mental health has become such a hot topic. She does a great job dealing not only with the people who have depression, but the surrounding characters and how they deal with the issue. I absolutely enjoyed the book and am looking forward to the next one in this series.
