This book was a lot of fun to read. It takes Mythology to the next level, and its a very fun process to watch play out. We have Grey, Raef, and Aroz who are all 3 sexy Greek Gods and brothers. We then meet Vanessa who is human, a hair dresser, and currently going thru a life crisis with her brother Piper. We watch as these 4 have their lives entertwined and turned upside down. What can a girl do when she gets a chance with the God of the Underworld, a Demi-God, and an Angel? This will be a story you won’t be able to put down once you begin.

After reading the first book, Next Door to a Star I was thrilled there was a sequel. Competing with a Star did not disappoint. It was full of teenage drama, love and confusion. Hadley and Nick’s relationship seems to be blooming well when Hadley shows her true naïve side. I did love how Nick was vulnerable with Hadley. All in all I liked the book, the drama and the realness of relationships these days.

The Don was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning.
Vanessa is a hairstylist trying to earn extra money to find a Doctor that can help her brother. She loves making her clients look beautiful. She also has a specific view on men, there are two types, angels and a-holes.
Grey is the Don of the Underworld, when he comes to earth to renegotiate a contract he meets Van. There is something special about her that has him changing his plans and he rents a room from her neighbor. When Van sees Grey she can see a glow around him and an attraction to him, who is he?
Van also meets Raef who happens to be drawn to her as well and wants to help her. They end up seeing more of each other and he is starting to show Van there may be more than two types of men.
Will she be able to get the help her brother needs before it’s too late?
Overall I really enjoyed this read, I felt like there were several stories going on and they connected well. I have to say the dreams she had were hot as heck. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I’m torn between Grey and Raef, they both were hot and I just can’t quite make up my mind on my favorite. We do get a heck of a cliffhanger at the end that left me in shock. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series to see what happens next. This book is such an amazing read! I love how the author pulls you in and keeps you wanting more! Jessica Aiken-Hall does a great job with plot twist and I love it! You never see the twists coming that she has in store for you. Molly needs to know why she looks so much like the girl on the flyer. And why didn’t her brother tell her about her? As Molly digs deeper and presses for answers she uncovers way more than she can ever imagine! I so look forward to reading more by Jessica Aiken-Hall. This is the third book I’ve read by her and have yet to be disappointed! She definitely knows how to write!

Wow, this book is totally a MUST READ!! There were so many twists and turns and this is the type of book that you could not put down. The story totally sucked me in from the very beginning and I did not want it to end. Molly is a college student whom also lives at home due to her mother’s dementia. Her mother goes missing off and on …but there is definitely mystery on why she goes wondering off. Also, when Molly discovers a flier of a missing girl from 20 years ago, this really opens up and you find so many similarities between Molly and the missing girl. Who was this girl and what happened to her? I don’t want to give anything away but if you love a fantastic mystery full of twists, turns, secrets and question yourself who do you trust, this book is for you!!! Carnival of Shadows is the second book in the Firewater Springs series. This book is a page turner and has me looking forward to more! Teagan Blackmore is the local Swamp Witch of Firewater Springs who is still recovering from the murder of her beloved Grandmother when a strange carnival rolls into town.
Leslie Scott really brings her characters to life and makes it easy to feel their emotions. Where they go, you go. It won’t matter if you are into paranormal, romance or mystery, there is something for everyone in this book. I am very much looking forward to another installment of this series.

Manifesto The Great is the grandson of the first leaders of the Planer Hy Man, leaders of a race of space faring men and women who were travelling through space on a ship to find a new hospitable planet where they could forge a new way of living, but living on spaceships can be cramped, especially of you are on them for a long time, so these particular wayfarers decided that sex was off the table and abstinence was the new normal, as well as segregation of the sexes so taht there was no temptation to fornicate. After a while this became the norm and nobody questioned it, until they arrived on Planet Hy Man where there was plenty of fresh air, space to live and expand and as it turns out a copious amount of hemp, this new found freedom leant itself to the reintegration of the sexes, fresher food and plenty of sex and partying in celebration and this is how they lived until some order had to be established, however, the views on how to do this were poles apart according to whether it was the females or the males who were speaking, in the end the males shouted the loudest and declared that they would do the work and the women were to procreate and look after the children and nothing mroe than that.
This way of living carried on for years, technology was invented, created and used to their advantage, including four-legged creatures and statues, the hemp was farmed and life was good, until the planet started to become more polluted and the women had had enough when their rights and duties were reduced even more and they felt like it was unfair that they were only regarded as baby making machines and walking wombs. Things were marginally better under the second leader, but when he passed away, the successor was even worse, a typical mans man who only thought of sex and participating in a sport he created of pulling spaceships, the women lost more rights and the men weren’t happy either, that is until Manifesto The Great came along and hoped to find a balance which sutied all the people of Planet Hy Man before they either tore each other or the planet apart. He tried to listen to women’s views as well as the mens, albeit the past leaders had female advisors, the men were always seeking to either overthrow them or cast them out as spies, believing that they were weak and brainless, the women however, wanted to prove them wrong once and for all.
Will Manifesto The Great be able to live up to the legacy which his forefathers left behind, will be able to make the wise decisions which will please both the men and the women, or will he drown in their demands for a better life and more equality? This is a comedic sci-fi adventure with plenty of crazy action, argumentative women and equally argumentative men who will drag you into their lives and keep you firmly ensconced there throughout the book.

I was excited to get my hands on Grave Digger Academy by C.A. King. It is a YA paranormal fantasy, that gives us a light hearted look at young Witches at the Grave Digger Academy and one in particular who has newly learned of her abilities and doesn’t want to be there. This book had a Harry Potteresque feel to it, I mean who doesn’t love Potter? and it is a fun read. This adventurous tale flows nicely and is excitingly intriguing. With great world-building, and delightful characters CA has set the scene with multiple layers to be explored and revealed and a plot going forward that looks exciting and promising. It is an Academy that is full of secrets and things that are hidden within the grounds and in the dark. It is a great start to this series.

This is an original and captivating tale which will draw you into the lives of those surviving in this dystopian world and sticking with them to the conclusion of the story.

Manda Mellett has quickly become my favorite MC Club author! Avenging Devil Part 1 is so far my favorite of her books. Niram is about as sexy as they come. He is drawn to Saffie the very moment he lays eyes on her in an OB office. He doesn’t know why, but he absolutely cannot help but be in her corner. He has no idea the horrors she suffered at the hands of an MC Club, and she has no idea he’s a biker at first, until he learns of the danger she is in and offer’s her the club’s protection. This story had me on the edge of my seat. I could not put it down! I love the characters, loved the plot, loved the way I couldn’t predict what was going to happen next. I love that going into this book, I already knew who the characters were and what there stories were, as I’ve read the other Satan’s Devils books in the series, and they’re all almost as great as this one. There were so many parts that had me terrified, which added to the awesomeness of it! I loved this book so much I give it 5 stars and have already pre-ordered part 2!

Molly Jackson is a young woman who has just finished her second year of college and is enjoying taking a break over summer, but she cannot enjoy herself too much because she has to look after her mum who has been diagnosed with Dementia and often forgets things and sometimes gets lost, but her dad has no patience with her and so it is often left to Molly to deal with everything while he just gets angry and complains, it leads to her feeling that she doesn’t belong in the family, that she is too different and it saddens her sometimes. As she is managing the pressure of daily life, her mum disappears from the house again, so she reaches out to her older brother to come down and help her look since her mum has been gone much longer than normal. While Molly is out searching for her mum, she passes the school and watches the preparations for this years graduation ceremony, but she spots a flyer on the notice board which she hasn’t seen before, it is about a search for a missing person, but she is shocked to find that they have been missing for twenty years and that the person in the picture looks startlingly like her.
After a few hours,Molly’s dad calls her and tells her that he has found her mum safe and sound and that she needs to get home as soon as she can, when she does, she immediately hugs her mum and tells her how worried she was before taking her into the garden with a cup of tea to sit by her favourite flowers, she takes the chance of her dad not being around to ask where her mum was, but she is evasive and doesn’t answer directly, apart from saying something about a “house in the woods”, any further conversation is cut off by her dad demanding lunch, which partially goes to plan until her mum forgets what she is doing and almost burns it. Later that evening, her brother turns up after driving most of the day to get there, but Molly realises that she forgot to tell him their mum was home, so he comes in to see her. She is happy to see him, but unfortunately, their dad isn’t so happy.
With her brothers arrival, Molly realises that she doesn’t really know that much about him and that since he moved away before she was born, she hasn’t had the chance because of the years which pass between his scarce visits, but now he is back in their hometown, she is going to use the opportunity to do just that and get to know him a bit more, but instead of staying with them, he decides to stay at the local motel as he cannot get on with their dad at all. She gets ready and goes to meet her brother, when she arrives he is on the phone and looking a bit upset, it turns out that he had been in contact with one of his friends about their twenty year reunion, seeing if he wants to go and whether he wants to meet up with them beforehand, this is where Molly asks if it has anything to do with the flyer she saw, this shocks her brother when he realoses who she is talking about and they decide to go and join in the search together after he tells her about the girl and their past. It turns out that they were college sweethearts but that she disappeared from a party and wasn’t seen again and her brother still tortures himself about it all this time later.
When they head to the search and find out where they will be starting and who will be there, things start to get a bit unnerving for Molly, this feeling only deepens as she becomes more involved and hears more about the girl and what happened, this combined with her mum disappearing again leaves Molly struggling to make sense of everything. Will she be able to help solve the mysteries of both the missing girl and where her mum keeps disappearing to, or will the things she finds out on the way cause her to worry more than before? This is a thrilling search for answers with plenty of twists, turns and secrets to keep you guessing the conclusion all the way to the end.

I enjoyed Tangled Roots by Denise D Young. It was an interesting story and I really liked the characters she created. The story centers around Cassie and Nick. It is the journey they go through to finding each other and love. There is magic and an evil that must be fought. This novel was the first in a series and I am looking forward to reading more.

Heads up, this is a spin off to The Blood Dagger trilogy, which I did not realize going in.
Having not read the Blood Dagger trilogy, this had slower start that left me scratching my head at some of the references, but once I got to about 30% I was completely immersed and couldn’t put the book down! All of my questions and confusion were answered, and then more! I’m in awe of the character building in this book and cannot wait to read more in this series!
Shield & Shade takes the paranormal genres for vampires, angels, and demons, and turns them on their heads!
I’m not normally a big fan of books that switch POV between more than two characters, but here I didn’t feel like I was losing out on information by being in another’s perspective, instead I felt it gave us more information and background than we would have otherwise had. I enjoyed the “coming of age” aspect for Zoey and Cruz, with their minds being blown that angels and the paranormal exist. I can appreciate Zoey’s mom wanting to protect her youngest child, who had a traumatic experience at 5, but c’mon, you also have to let your child live!
I will certainly be searching for the Blood Dagger books, as well as any others written by Misty.

Her Blackened Rose is the third book in the Blackened Series by Isra Sravenheart. I highly recommend reading the series in order because the story continues throughout the books. This time the dark Lady Isra is challenged with trust and deception. Whom can she trust? Astrid and Isra are facing issues and then there is a missing man whose family blames Isra for the disappearance. In this book, the stakes are higher and there is more action and suspense to the story. I like how the series has developed and I have become more interested in Lady Isra’s story. Also, there is an interesting development of what constitutes dark and evil. Perceptions change when there is more knowledge. I look forward to reading the next book in the series and seeing what happens with Lady Isra next.

Her Blackened Heart by Isra Sravenheart is the second book in the Blackened series. I recommend reading the first book before this to enjoy the book fully. The story takes us and gives us insight into the past of Lady Isra. There are battles of light and dark and of mortal and immortal. I really enjoyed the new characters and the development of Lady Isra and Astrid. I also enjoyed the development of the ongoing story and am curious as to what will happen as the series progresses. I look forward to reading the next book in this series soon.

The Rise Of Manifesto The Great (Planet Hy Man) by Kerrie Noor is very fast-paced and very funny! I appreciate a good satire and this held my attention to the very end. This book is the first of three prequels to the Planet Hy Man book, which I had never heard of before picking this up. Thus far, this planet has remained pure. The latest group to arrive on Planet Hy Man are ready for real experiences. When Manifesto the Great takes power, he has to find his stride and learn to control the women. The comedy and spoof that follows is a tickle to the funny bone. As I said, I love a good satire, especially when there are some kick-ass characters involved. Even if this isn’t the typical type of book for you to dive into, I recommend that you do, anyway. I recommend this book for some good chuckles, and I’ve been inspired to travel again to Planet Hy Man and to visit more works by Kerrie Noor.

Her Blackened Soul by Isra Sravenheart is the first book in the Blackened Series. Lady Isra is a dark witch and the primary character of this book. I enjoyed the idea of the story from the villain’s point of view. She is a dark character who has taken on powers that limits who can see her. I liked that the story is from a different view and that she is a relatable character despite being bad. The story kept me reading and wanting to know how this would work with Lady Isra and her powers. I am looking forward to reading more in this series soon.

Motherland (The Tom Grant Series Book 3) by Samantha Adair is the third installment in the Tom Grant series, and I have to say, it can’t get more action-packed than this! First of all, I love Isabella. She is the strong female protagonist I always look for. And Tom is the genuinely great supporting guy that balances her out. To fulfill her father’s wishes, Isabella returns his ashes to his home country and action and suspense ensue. This has all the components of a great action/romance thriller, and it was hard to put down and get back to reality. I have not read the first two books in this series, but they are absolutely on my list now. This can be read by itself, but I assume it will only be better if you read them in sequence. Seriously, don’t miss out on this series. 4 out of 5 stars!

First time reading this author. I feel like she did a great job portraying the college scene. It kind of made me reflect on my college years as I read it. While I am not a rich kid waiting to take over daddy’s business, I could relate to the wanting to have fun and put off becoming an adult. But then, when you meet the one you are meant for, it is unavoidable to grow up!

This is my first time reading this author. And I have to say that I really enjoyed it! I was drawn in from the very beginning by the characters. Even though I have not read the first 2 books in the series, I did not feel like I was missing too much. The author did a great job including some of the back story so I wasn’t completely lost.
Tom Grant was a likeable character as was Isabella/Irina. I am looking forward to reading more about them!

This book was so different from anything that I have ever picked up to read but I enjoyed it so much. This story was full of adventure and the characters were brought to life so well. I purposely took my time to read this book just so that it would last longer. I am looking forward to reading more books from this author.

This is a sweet story that deals with coming of age, and navigating all the tricky waters of adolescence. Hadley is a teenager who is starting to date for the first time, and although she seems to have found a great guy, it’s not without its challenges. Especially when your friends seem to be blocking the relationship at every turn. Like the first book in this series, Hadley is learning who her true friends really are, and how complex all relationships can be. Despite second-guessing herself a lot, she does manage to sift through her feelings and find a path that feels true to her.
If you liked Next Door to a Star, you’ll be right at home in the second book in this series. It took me back to the awkward days of high school, with all the feels and confusion and new experiences. Hager has a real gift for letting us remember how that time felt, in all its ups and downs.

Decisions decisions decisions! This is the first book in the series and boy what a beginning. I really found myself hooked to this book and I cannot wait to see how this series pans out. The characters are well written and just jump off of the pages.
I really could feel Vanessa’s emotions as I read the book and I really could sense her love for her brother. I am so hooked that I need to see how this whole story will pan out with not one not two but three hot immortals the rollercoaster ride has just begun. I cannot wait to see how it goes twists and turns and all.

I was hooked from page one by this gripping crime thriller and was kept guessing until the very last page. Having finished her second year of college Molly Jackson is spending the summer looking after her Mum who has dementia. Molly has to ask her brother Marc for help when their mother goes missing. Whilst searching Molly finds a twenty year old flyer for a missing woman who looks uncannily like herself. Molly can’t shake the feeling that there is more to this women’s disappearance than what has being reported and she also wants to find out why she feels such a strong connection to the missing women, Lucy. As Molly tries to uncover the truth she discovers that Marc and Lucy were high school sweethearts, and as more clues are solved Molly realises that she might not be ready to accept the truth. However, she is determined to solve the mystery before it’s to late. The storyline is fast paced and action packed with plenty of plot twists which had me reading well into the night as I could not put this book down. I felt completely immersed in the story due to the authors descriptive narrative and I felt engaged with the characters, especially Molly who’s sheltered upbringing and innocence came across in the writing making her a particularly likeable character. I was left thinking about the story long after I had finished reading this book and for me that is always a sign of a great read!

This is the 3rd book in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series. This is a Dark MC Romance novel and is 378 pages long. Take note that this can cause triggers for some. This story follows Niran and Saffie. Niran is a biker who came across Saffie at her lowest point. Saffie is about as broken as any woman can get. Niran is determined to put her back together. Because of Saffie’s past, Niran drives a truck and does not wear a cut – she does not know he is a biker. When she does find out, her first instinct is to run, but sooner rather than later, she realizes she needs him with her.

WOW WOW WOW!!! This book had me on the brink throughout. This is the first book I have read from this amazing author India Kells. I will certainly be reading more. This book is based on the mob underworld and has so many twists and turns you will not be able to put it down. Lots of lack of sleep with this one. The character building is phenomenal and you get very attached to the main characters as well as sub characters. I loved Deva and her bravery and outspoken attitude. She is a woman that has come into her own after coming back to Chicago. Is there anyone that can be trusted? I got to a point in this book where there would be a happily ever after or would make me cry my eyes out. India Kells, bravo as this was an amazing read.

Confessions of a Sophomore Prankster: Frat House Confessions by Danielle Jacks is an entertaining story with two absolutely brilliant characters at its centre. I connected with them instantly and loved the interaction between them. It felt so real and believable. When I started reading this book I expected it to be an easy and fun read that would be amusing. And while it was all of these things it was also more. It had more depth to it then I would have thought and I could feel the emotion. The whole book was really well written and I enjoyed it so much more than I thought I would. I am looking forward to exploring more of the books in this collaboration.

Motherland: A Tom Grant Novel is the third book in this series by Samantha Adair. I would recommend that this book needs to be read after the first two books in the series. There is already so much that has happened, and lots of back story to the characters, that you will be missing out (and possibly a bit confused) if you start at book 3.
As with the other books, I still absolutely love Tom! The far-from-perfect former agent is funny, sexy, smart, and rough around the edges. I think his character, along with that of Isabella, gets better and better throughout the series. Motherland is another fast-paced read. Honestly, it will have you on the edge of your seat wondering where the author will take you next. There’s plenty of drama and passion, and it was over far too soon. I can’t wait to read book four.
