What a fun story. I don’t know about you but I loved daydreaming at recess. These were the types of things I’d dream off. The story is entertaining. The pictures are bright and colorful to get childrens attention. A book for the family or teacher’s library.
Percy’s Brides: A Double Trouble Romance by Ivy Hart

I quite enjoyed this. Percy had his hands full. Watching him get himself out this drama was fun. Lots of drama and conflict (what else from a meddling family) and so much more. It’s a clean, historical romance that was a joy to read. I love getting some of these in between everything else I read.
The Silent Forest by David Duane Kummer

“The Silent Forest” is a gripping and unsettling psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Author David Kummer has crafted a masterful story that explores the darker aspects of human nature and the devastating consequences of trauma.
The story follows Kaia, a determined and resilient young woman who refuses to give up on finding her missing friend, Allison. The author’s writing is atmospheric and evocative, drawing the reader into the eerie and foreboding atmosphere of the New Haven forest.
One of the strengths of this novel is its ability to craft complex and believable characters. Kaia is a relatable and likable protagonist, and her determination to uncover the truth is both admirable and heartbreaking. The supporting cast, including the enigmatic Woods family, is equally well-developed, with each character adding depth and nuance to the story. The book was better developed, in my opinion, than book #1.
The plot is expertly paced, with a slow-burning tension that builds towards a shocking and unforgettable ending. The author’s use of misdirection and red herrings is clever, keeping the reader guessing until the very last page.
However, there are a few areas where the story could be improved. At times, the pacing feels slightly uneven, with some sections feeling rushed or dragged out. Additionally, some of the supporting characters could benefit from more development and backstory.
This is the first book that I have read from this author and she did not disappoint. There are triggering things within this book so readers be aware. The world-building in “Murder by Moonlight” is exceptional. The Fairytale Forest theme park is a unique and fascinating setting, filled with fantasy creatures and quirky characters. The author’s vivid descriptions transport the reader to the sun-kissed South Carolina Lowcountry, immersing them in the sights, sounds, and smells of the park.
The characters in the story are equally well-developed. Cat is a relatable and likable protagonist, with a sharp mind and a determination to solve the case. The supporting cast, including Zoe the cat colony leader and Gloria, adds depth and humor to the story. The dialogue is natural and engaging, making it easy to become invested in their interactions.

Just Ducky by C.A. King

Just Ducky is the first book in the Weird Shifters series. After reading this book, I look forward to more in this series. The borders of the paranormals and humans are at risk of colliding and going to war, and the paranormals are out in force since the return of Lord Kobreon. In all of this, we meet Ducky. She is a duck shifter who is teased and mistreated. What happens when Lord Kobreon runs into this cute, fluffy ducky?
I enjoyed the world-building and characters of this story. The book is the perfect length, allowing the story and characters to develop. I was intrigued by Ducky and how she doesn’t fit the normal shifter story. I enjoyed her tenacity despite her circumstances while still being vulnerable to her character. Also, Lord Kobreon was interesting, and I enjoyed that he was a contrast to Ducky.
I always enjoy books by this author, and this was no exception. I look forward to reading the next book in this series and to reading more from this author.

Just Ducky is the first book in the Weird Shifter series by C. A. King. The cover art itself really got my attention, as well as the concept of it. Ducky is definitely unique, the first Shifter of her kind that I’ve ever seen! This author as a whole has become a must read for me, so I didn’t hesitate when I saw this book, and as always was enchanted! King’s originality and imagination is unmatched, and that includes this series starter. Full of wonderful characters, romance, adventure, and more awaits! Always recommend this author!

Just Ducky is another great read by C.A. King. The book is a paranormal romance book. The cover of the book is what drew me to want to read it. It was definitely a page turner for me. The world building and character building was great. The detailing was good. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to read the next one.

The Big Book of Booper Snoots is a children’s book that children of any age can enjoy. It’s a fun book that’s educational and teaches about different snoots. My son absolutely loved this book and the trying to guess the snoot. He now is booping every animal and humans to. I love that it’s setup A through Z style and we get fun facts. .I highly recommend reading this book and we are definitely going to be rereading this a million times.

Italian American (Jack & Mariella Book 2) by Luigina Vecchione
Italian American is the second book in the Jack & Mariella Series and is a Historical Romance . This is a fairly new author to me and I’m definitely going to check out what other books they have written. I’m a huge fan of Historical Romance and this one definitely checks all those boxes. The characters are relatable, fully developed and make the story come to life. I could picture myself right along with them. This is a story about sacrifices one makes and the ups and downs of family life. These two deserve all the happiness. Moving to a new town is scary imagine how much scarier it must be to move to a new country. Can these two make it? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

This is the first book in the Weird Shifter series. I have always enjoyed this authors work and when I saw this I didn’t hesitate to read it. I love paranormal romances and this has that as well as danger, suspense, adventure and high stakes.
Ducky (just as her name suggest) is a duckling shifter. To everyone around her she’s an embarrassment and is constantly bullied and teased. After all what good is she as a shifter if she has no abilities?
When she hears that Vampire Lord Kobreon has returned looking for his mate she can’t wait to see him. She knows she has no chance as his mate but she needs to just see him from afar.
However fate has other ideas and when she is taken inside the castle in her duckling form she gets closer to him than she ever imagine possible.
Vampire Lord Kobreon has a lot of his plate. With a war on the brink of breaking out between the supernatural and humans he has his plate full trying to find a cure for the kings daughter. The last thing he needs is to worry about finding a mate.
When a little duckling turns up in his life he finds a companion he never knew he wanted or needed. But how will he respond when he realises that Ducky is much more than a little duckling.
Can Lord Kobreon find the cure to save the kings daughter and prevent a war from starting?
Is there any way Ducky can help, or is she just a useless little duck?
This is a captivating story and I loved every part of it.
What Lies Buried by Leslie Kain

This is the sequel to Secrets in the Mirror by Leslie Kain. We learn more about the after effects of a traumatizing childhood. Gavin has Complex PTSD and it obviously effects his family as an adult. It’s heartbreaking but Katie’s character is my favorite this time. You get to learn more about her and see what it’s like as the wife of someone suffering like Gavin. Anyone who has been in her position, will easily relate. It’s definitely going to be an emotional read but absolutely worth it.
Whiskey Throttle by Brooke May

An intense story that will have you feeling every emotion in it. You can feel the MC struggle in the words. You feel the struggle. Unique personalities of each character all blended together to make this a really good story. I loved the writing because you felt it and it was relatable.

Vague Directions: Into the Woods by Debra Parmley is a little different from the other books of hers that I have read. This takes paranormal romance and twists it up a bit- making for an original read.
Heather’s adventure begins when she sets off for a medieval reenactment festival – getting a bit lost along the way. With a gallant knight, some shifty characters, mystery, intrigue, danger, and dramatic developments- this paranormal romance definitely wasn’t what I was expecting, but in a fun way.

Gavin had a hard life growing up. He has an identical twin brother, Devon, who is favored more by their father. Although they are identical, they are opposites in every way. When they are older Devon gets himself involved with the mob and people start dying. Gavin doesn’t want any part of it and flees with his little family to keep them safe. However ot doesn’t matter how far he runs, he can’t outrun his brother or the mob. Gavin vows that he will save his brother from the destructive path he is on, but will he be successful? Devon is diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder and that is how he manipulates poor Gavin. I couldn’t imagine having to get away from my sibling for my own well being, it seems unfathomable. I found this book to be a quick read that kept me turning the pages to see what was going to happen next. The characters were well developed and the author wrote this story is such a way that you really feel for the characters, especially the victims. Get ready to go on an emotional ride. I do highly suggest this book, however due to the heavy subject matter talked about being a trigger for some people do read at your own risk.

Fiction or possible future, to a degree at least. I love C.A. King’s worlds she creates they are always so different than anything else and no two books of hers are the same. Other than their ability to fully submerge you in their world. Told from several perspectives including Rod and Ned.
Treacle is the epitome of small fishing communities. To live there is to answer the call of the sea. But times have changed in just five years, the seas are lifeless. No fish, no plants, no birds. Life tied to the water is gone. The need for food is worse now than ever before and all because people’s race to clean up the planet made them blind to the life that inhabits it. Until it was too late. Rod gets lucky, or maybe it’s unluckier when he renovates Old Bessy, his fishing boat. He finds a fissure at the bottom of the ocean. The secrets are hidden in caves, unknown fish and eggs fill it. Ned dreams of a better life for him and his daughter and all caution go to the wind. One decision changed everything.
What do they really find in those caves? Can they stop it before it’s too late? What will be left of Treacle in the end? Most of this talented authors books I can see myself living in them but honestly this one is just terrifying in all the best ways the suspense the story the growth it will truly pull you under from start to finish. Gavin is refusing treatment and becomes increasingly more erratic which in turn puts a strain on their relationship. Will Katie be able to help Gavin or will she need to leave for the safety of her and their daughter? This book will take you on an emotional ride so I hope you’re ready.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every book I’ve read by this author, so it was a no-brainer to pick this book up. They create absolutely marvelous stories within the paranormal genre which this definitely falls under. I was surprised that this was a little over 200 pages because I breezed through it effortlessly. The flow of the story is naturally smooth while being one-of-a-kind as well. There are quite a few twists and turns throughout that I didn’t see coming! I liked the characters well enough but would love more depth to add a bit more oomph to the story. Even with that tiny note, I completely loved this book. If you enjoy sci-fi, horror, dystopian, and/or paranormal books, this should be your next read!

We have all, at one time or another, reached our hands out to “boop” the nose of an animal! This book is all about animals from A-Z! I even learned about a couple of animals that I have never heard of prior to reading this book.
Of course, safety must be first in all things and this book will mention this. We can’t just go “booping” any snoot we want or we might find ourselves in trouble.
There is a picture of each animal’s nose with a “who is this?” feature. Turn the page and learn all about that particular animal. Each one contains interesting facts.
The pictures are pretty cool in this book too!
Teach a young reader about animals, the ABC’s, and more with this fun book!
Secrets In The Mirror by Leslie Kain

Gavin is an identical twin and is victim of his brother. Gavins whole family is dysfunction and chaos. Being witnessed to all of his immediate family violent deaths. First seeing his mom fly down the stairs after his father pushed her. Second seeing his father shot. Third finding his identical twin who hung himself. I was lost in this twisted dramatic book. I highly recommend it.

His wife Katie is carrying all the burden as Gavin isn’t reliable dealing with his mental issues. What Lies Buried by Leslie Kain

I am sincerely impressed with this novel. The author did some serious research and/or has experience with PTSD and how it affects different people. I also love that the author knows about one of the fight or flight responses that many do not know about: fawn. If you are looking for a novel that intertwines knowledge of PTSD, this book is for you. I highly recommend as someone who helps those with PTSD every day and studied it.
The only reason for four stars instead of five is because the repetition became tedious. While I am reading, I do not need to be reminded of what I have already read. Otherwise, the characters and plot were well thought out and I cannot wait to dive into the next one!

This is the first book in the series. Its a fast paced, page turner that will keep you interested. This is about Devin and Gavin who are mirror twins, identical but total opposites. Their lives take you through an emotional, traumatic an complex roller coaster ride. Cant wait to read book two.
Finding Love by Lacey Furr

This is the first book in The Oath Series. This is the first book I have read by this author but I am definitely going to be reading more. This is was such a beautiful moving romance. The author deals with topics such as grief and how that can affect someone’s life in a variety of ways creating a huge impact that some people struggle to work through.
Both of our main characters have suffered losses but together they help each other work through it and find love that they didn’t even know they wanted or needed.
Hailey Prescott has made her life her business. As the owner of a B&B she loves the fact that people come into her life and leave without any fuss or heartache. She has never thought of finding Love or a family as the business is her life. And then Loch Mackenzie comes into her life. Hailey can see and feel the sadness that Loch carries with him and plans to help him work through his pain the way she has done in the past.
Loch Mackenzie is a superstar but after the death of his sister he is struggling to move forward as the grief is all consuming. His agent books him into Hailey’s B&B to rest and recover. He can’t explain it but there is something about Hailey that makes him feel alive again.
Neither of them was expecting to find love but sometimes things happen for a reason. Could this be fate putting Loch with Hailey and giving him a reason to live again?

This is book two of the series. I would definitely recommend reading them together. This continues Gavin’s story and his childhood traumas that he still deals with in adulthood. However in this book I enjoyed getting to know Katie better an learning her story as well. Cant wait for Book three.

This is not the first book by this author I have picked up, and it definitely will not be the last. This is, however, the first book in the Weird Shifters series, so thankfully there will be more! For anyone who appreciates paranormal stories, there is a little bit of everything all rolled up in one story. Ducky is a character I found myself rooting for from the beginning. The story is interesting and well-written. This is also the first book I have read that involves shifters, so I was intrigued from the get-go. If you are looking for a cozy, fun, escape-from-reality kind of book, then I highly suggest picking up this book and getting lost in the world of Ducky.
