I finished the first book eager for more, and finished this the same way. Honestly, I love this series and am excited for more. This picked up right where the first book left off and might be confusing to those that hadn’t read The Misery House. Kaia is amazing and Allison is so lucky to have a friend like her. But honestly, we knew that in book 1. However, this goes on to show just how great of a friend she is. I am already ready for book 3!

This is one of my absolute favorite authors and have read countless books by them. Somehow they knock each and every one out of the park, and this is no exception. There is a magnificent blend of paranormal happenings, wonderful humor, and romance throughout. I definitely laughed loud enough to startle my family multiple times. You will be gripped from the very first chapter because we have to know about the gumball! I’ll never understand how the author writes such short stories without sacrificing quality every time, but you won’t hear me complaining. If you’re looking for a quick and unique read that will make you laugh and feel for each character while getting lost in a vivid world, pick this book up right now! I cannot wait to grab another book by this author because I can’t get enough.
This is the second book in The House on the Hill series, and it was absolutely incredible! I love thrillers and being kept on the edge of my seat, so this seemed right up my alley. I fell into my reading groove fairly quickly with the flow of the story feeling natural. It was impossible to put down once I dove in because the suspense was killing me. I had to know what was going to happen! Kaia is an amazing character that is strong and relatable. I highly recommend picking up the first book in the series before jumping into this one as you may end up a little confused without it. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!

The Silent Forest is the second book in The House on the Hill series. I do recommend reading the first book first but you can jump in with this book. Personally I think this book was even better than the first. I was glued to this story and had to stay up for just one more chapter! Again the author writes in multiple POVs which sometimes I don’t like but it really was perfect this time. I felt more connected to each character. I was glad to see this book answered some questions I had at the end of the first book, but left me with more questions! I can not wait to get my hands on the third book! If you like psychological thrillers that leave your heart racing, then go start this series today!

This is an author that Ihave enjoyed listening to from the first audio book. I enjoyed how the narrator pulled me into the story using different tones for the characters. Edward and Lisette are great characters that I really enjoyed. They are strong characters that have great chemistry. This is an easy and entertaining story to listen to. I really enjoy this author and I highly recommend this audiobook.

This is the first book in the Felines Of Fairytale Forest series. I loved this cosy mystery. It was such a good read that I couldn’t put it down. The authors story was so unique and full of twists that I had keep reading to find out who did it. I also loved how the author tells the story from the perspective of Cat(human) and Zoe(cat). How they work together using their unique skills to get to the bottom of this mystery was very unique.
Cat works as a janitor at night for Fairytale Forest Amusement park. What started as a normal night took a turn for the worse when the parks resident cats started to act weird and leads Cat and her friend Gloria to a body. Who is responsible for this murder? What will it mean for the park and the cats who live there? With Cat fast becoming the main suspect she knows she needs to find the real killer to clear her name so with the aid of Zoe and her fellow felines they work together to find and bring the murderer to justice. I grabbed this book right up after I finished the first one. And this one just like the first did not disappoint. this was another suspense building book that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reding. This book does build on from the first book so I highly recommend that you read the fist one, or you will differently be lost for sure in this book. A girl is still missing, A sheriff still not liking the whole situation, danger in every corner, secrets being exposed the maybe should have been left unsaid, and still that darn house. So, if you like not sleeping then I highly recommend this book, but be prepared for suspense, mystery, hatred, secrets, getting mad at somethings, and page turning reading then this is for you.

This book was gripping from the beginning, it has this horror like Stephen king which really made me want to read it more. Its flow to the book I really had to focus on because it did get told from different character views but other than that it was very captivating from the beginning. A new family, a house no one visits, a fire where the shop owner and son don’t make it, a sheriff just making assumptions for people he doesn’t like, animals going crazy and change people, mystery lights and so much more. This book had so much going for it that I really couldn’t put it down, I felt like I was there watching the Woods family and everything going on in the town of mystery. This book was filled with edge of your seat suspense, thriller, horror, mystery, lies, truth and some urban legends that get thrown into the mix. I highly recommend this book but read it too close to bedtime, until you like that. Diving into book 2 will be my next thing to do.

Having been at a funeral the day before starting this read I think emotions were still very high but reading what Adelaide had to go through with her mother in jaw and so called best friend had me sick to the pit of my stomach and what little I knew of her and Scott at the time I think he would’ve been mortified , I’m sorry sorry Adelaide 😭😭🤗
So Adelaide buys an old run down farmhouse in a small town called Williwbrook Lake and yes it’s falling apart but I’m already in love with it and the town 🤣🥰and it seems Adelaide has found her people …. So a few chapters in and already I knew this was going to be one of my favourite reads for the year ! I settled in with a chai latte (Adelaide had he craving for one ) and got lost in a beautiful read
Adelaide is a gentle soul and the town has fallen in love with and it’s mutual she’s really found home and her people and she deserves a second chance at happiness ….🥰
Then there’s little Nora 🐾❣️🐱the little furry feline that steals Adelaide’s heart and I’m a firm believer that the way a person treats an animal speaks volumes of their character and Adelaide has a pure heart , a kind and sincere soul , I’d like to claim her as my new bestie 🥰🤣😉and let’s not forget Kane and Stella 🐾I looked up their breed and they’re huge! But they’re really loveable 🐶🐾🥰
Owen’s bark is worse than his bite he just wants to come across as gruff and uninterested but he’s just a real old teddy bear and Adelaide got under his skin that first day she nearly caused an accident ….. when he allows to help with the renovations he’s always patient with her , he cares about her well being and safety and he’s almost always around when she needs him … if she wasn’t going to take him I was going to 🤣🙈🥰 as much as he wants her he respects her loss and that makes me love him even more , these 2 belong together and I’m sorry she had to go through such a heartache to find her HEA 🥰
The people of Willowbrook are kind , loving , supportive and a tight knit community , friendships are built that last lifetimes , you just want to be a part of them 🥰 can’t wait to visit again 😉

The Silent Forest is book two of David Kummer’s The House On The Hill Trilogy. David has truly mastered the subtleties and misdirection of any good psychological thriller. Not only that, but the characters are beautifully written, and really make you feel like you’ve always known them. I definitely recommend reading these in order, as the events continue just a few weeks after The Misery House ends. Looking forward to getting my hands on book 3, these cliffhangers are killing me!

Declan and Anne …. An age-gap romance, Best Friends Older brother, Second Change, Contemporary Romance. This book falls into so many different categories yet all I can say is it is a really good story. I love Anne with all I have in me. She is a fantastic person and wow she has a heart of gold. This book will draw you in and take you along for all the twists and turns and heartbreak, then patch you up with a drama filled HEA. I loved this story and was rooting for Anne and Declan from the first look in the rear-view mirror.
The Misery House by David Kummer is the first book in The House On the Hill series, a psychological thriller, with beautiful mixes of horror and suspense. These characters were beautifully written, the setting so real I was practically right there, and the dynamics worked so well everything just fell together like a puzzle. I loved the split POV’s, this authors writing style is immaculate and will definitely leave you paranoid. I’m diving right into book 2 of this trilogy as soon as possible!!

The Amanda Mini-Mysteries is an educational, fun, illustrated set of different “science mysteries” as we get to learn along with Amanda and Elaine. Each mystery brings senarios like taste, hearing, sound, light and colors along with other things as Amanda and Elaine (along with myself) want to also learn the “why” things turn out the way they do.
This is a fun collection to read that is very engaging and also to learn new facts, which was neat. I love how the science is incorporated into each of the mysteries that Elaine and Amanda try to learn and solve.
NEW TO ME AUTHOR. Ashley Erin actually had me in tears at one point in this story. That is a feat that not many authors have managed (even though several have tried). This is a very heart touching story and will pull you in quickly and hold you there until you read the last page. I am excited to learn it is just the first book in a series of which I am sure there will be at least 3 books. This first though is quick paced but not so fast that you lose details or events. Yes the Masquerade Ball could have been in more detail but honestly it was perfect for me especially the events after (IFKYK). I loved the writing and the build up of the emotions between the characters. The Epilogue… WOW. LOVE IT!

I have been reading this book to my kid for bedtime and I have to say they have been absolutely loving them. this one was all about the kittens first Christmas, and every kid loves Christmas. The kittens had gotten into everything like the wrapping, the tree but what cat doesn’t like the tree. My kids were very engaged in this story and loved every minute of it. The illustrations just like the last ones were just as good and went along with the story nicely. Can’t wait to read more of them to me kids.

Once you start this book you won’t stop, I had a hard time outing this down. This was a very intriguing and suspenseful books that had me turning pages like my life was in danger. This book was filled with so much from mystery, suspense, romance, and just about everything but of course vampires not included. This book gave me that feeling that I was right there beside every single character, the feeling you get from them is that you have known them for a long time, like longtime friends. They are very well written, and you almost get that feeling of no, they couldn’t have done it, or did they? The way this book was written it was like you’re in there riding along with everyone, that feeling like you’re the fly on the wall. This was a great mystery that had me constantly second guessing myself. I highly recommend this book but be warned you will not be able to put it down till you read the whole thing.

Amy’s Betrayal is the second book in the Gemstone Massacre series by Julia Goldhirsh. This urban fantasy is a bit of a twist on the Arthurian legends- which makes for an original read. Woven with magic, danger, drama, assassins, paranormal elements, action, violence, elementals, an inclusive LGBTQIA+/gender fluid cast, agendas, friendship, gems, rebellion, good vs evil, and vivid world-building. There is a lot going on here, with a rather large cast of characters, so I highly recommend reading the previous books (Prequel & Book #1) before starting on this one, as that will allow you a richer reading experience of this book, as well as the series as a whole. Another great adventure/instalment in the series- I wonder what Julia Goldhirsh has in store for us next. Happy Reading…

I was beyond excited to read about the only girl in one of my favorite fictional families. Being the only girl and the youngest with four older brothers, Lynn is well protected. I loved the little snippets of her in the other series books and was thrilled that she got her own in the series. The dynamic of the entire Brooks family is wonderful in every book, and this is no exception to that. I enjoyed how Lynn shows her determination to make something of herself, while also enjoying her time as she goes. Lynn is serious about her goals while not being so serious that she doesn’t have some fun in the meantime. And if that fun also gets under her brothers’ skin a little bit then she is okay with that too. Joey is an interesting character and I found myself intrigued by his personality and the ways that he reacts to situations. Great book. I would recommend the entire series.

I knew when I finished book 1 in the series that I was going to want to read more about this town and the people living in it. Honestly, I really wanted to read more about Hank, he is my favorite. Being introduced to Ted some and the mentioning of Stephanie in book one had me feeling already a little comfortable with them and definitely interested in seeing more. I love that Joe & Abby are still a topic of conversation in this book with their love/hate relationship and that Hank is so invested in playing the town matchmaker. There is definitely a benefit reading the first book, but I don’t think it would be too confusing as a standalone. I look forward to reading more about Herd and of course, Hank.

When life throws you down…..picking up to move to another state could be just what is in order or how Kenna’s late aunt would know would do her good. Salt Love is a fun, romantic comedy that I absolutely adored from page one. I loved the banter between Kenna and Dec with a mix of emotions, humor, romance with lots of spark and sizzle, letting go of the past, secrets and friendships. This was a fantastic read, the story flowed so easily and I could not put this book down.
Kenna is down on her luck…between losing her husband, losing out on a work promotion and also losing her aunt…this is a lot all at once. Aunt Maeve left specific instructions for not only Kenna but also for Dec..whom befriends Maeve down at Sunshine Key. Kenna and Dec have to work together to take over her business…what can be so hard? Dec comes across as the grumpy neighbor, keeping to himself with some secrets of his own. Having to share a business with Maeve’s niece whom he never met before can be a challenge.
As Kenna and Dec work together with Maeve’s business and Kenna’s remodeling of the house….spark fly instantly between Kenna and Dec. Will Kenna be able to move past her ex-husband and also will Dec be able to share secrets that he keeps near or will the past tear Kenna and Dec apart….
Definitely read and find out. I highly recommend this book…..loved it loved it loved it!!

This is one book in the Marine Life Counting Collection, and it’s tied for our favorite! To be fair, they’re all three tied because they are all absolutely wonderful. The illustrations throughout this series are some of my favorites in any children’s book I have read. We look forward to all of the fun facts at the end because it turns out that no one in the family knows them. My youngest likes to share these facts with random passersby, so he’s spreading the word! The rhyming always has us bopping along and the QR code for the song at the end was an awesome bonus! I highly recommend adding this to your classroom or home collection for the little ones in your life.

My kiddos and I have read a few books by this lovely author before and picked this one up as we love anything involving the beach! The illustrations in this story are absolutely beautiful and brought a smile to our faces as well. There are some fun facts towards the end that none of us knew! It was so cool to learn those together. The rhythmic rhyming had all of us bopping along as we read it out and made it sound like a song. This would be a great addition to any classroom, library, or home collection for young ones!

I LOVED this story. Adeline is trying to grieve the loss of her husband at such a young age. She decides to buy and renovate an old farm house in a small town as part of her moving on. When she arrives in this new town she’s greeted by so many kind people, she makes quick friends and finds comfort and support she needed. Among the people she meets is Owen, the local handyman. She ends up having to ask him for help with renovations on the house when she realizes she was in over her head. As Owen and her work together to restore her home, their feelings for each other grow. And Adeline has to decide if she is ready to let someone else in. But as her mom and friends say “love doesn’t have a timeline, it comes when you least expect it, and you shouldn’t ignore it”. This was such a sweet read that I could not put down. Very low spice level. I’m looking forward to reading the second book with Cameron and RaeLynn

My entire household loves the Oscar and Emmy series, so of course we picked this one up as soon as we saw it. We don’t live in an area that experiences hurricanes which made it a good learning lesson for both of my kids. The author has such a magnificent way of informing kids at an appropriate age level without scaring them or diminishing the experience. Oscar and Emmy aren’t sure what to make of all the movements throughout the story, but they go along with their family. The illustrations help with connecting younger kids to the story as well. I believe this is an excellent book to read as a family or in a classroom!

Usually I go for different type of romances and rom-com’s, but every now and then I like to get into a comfortable, small town, heart warming romance. By Your Side was a really good one. Adeline and Owen fit the narrative beautifully and they had great chemistry. Adeline is a widow who is trying to overcome losing the love of her life and Owen is a grumpy, short on words handy man at her house. Although neither person is looking for love they begin to realize that the chemistry between them cannot be ignored. The emotions in By Your Side pulled at my heartstrings, and felt real, but the characters held onto hope that they could come out stronger on the other side when they least expected it.

My kiddos and I have read quite a few of the books in the Oscar and Emmy series, so when we found out there was one involving our favorite holiday, we jumped on it! We love the beautiful illustrations as they help everyone connect a little bit more to the characters. Of course, our favorite parts always involve the lovely and mischievous kittens that are checking out all the fun Christmas decorations and gift wrapping. This book is such a cute one to share with the young ones in your life whether that’s at home or in the classroom!
