I love this author so much, I became an instant fan after reading The Flip, but this book? I love the cover, I love the story, I love the writing, I adore the characters, and I’m so sad that it ended.

This is a story of how the bonds of true friendship between three women can withstand many years and many miles apart. When one is faced with a devastating loss, the other two don’t even think twice about putting their lives on hold, jumping on a plane and going home. The support they offered was spot on, the way this author handled giving us the whole story of this friendship, the whole story of the betrayal that caused two of them to not speak for years, yet come back together for their friend was brilliant. I understand this was slightly based on a true story, but I also understand that she turned this true story into an unforgettable book of love, friendship, family, self discovery, and forgiveness, and I will be rereading this so many times, I already miss it, and I can’t wait to tell everyone I know to go one click this amazingly awesome book! The way she took us into each of their lives and their thoughts with the different POV’s, and the family aspect that each one dealt with…Complete Perfection in my opinion.

I cried a lot while reading, I also laughed a few times. I finished this book last night and normally I go write my reviews right after I finish, but this one I couldn’t, my mind was so totally in this book that I had to take time to organize my thoughts, and to be honest it took me back many years in my own lifes story. There are not enough words to describe how much this book meant to me. I love my romance books, but this one was one was a refreshing change that will stay with me for a very long time! No doubt the best book I’ve read this year!!

The Flip (Romance in Rehoboth book 2) by K.L. Montgomery

I am absolutely in love with this book. The interaction between Andrew and Sonnet (competitive adversaries since childhood) and what they thought of each other cracked me up. This is my first book by this author and I can’t wait to go back and read the first of this series, as well as her other books.

I loved the way the story unfolded while giving us tidbits of the past and how these two arch enemies became the way they were. The flow of this story was perfect and I loved the change of perspectives throughout.

Aunt Penny and Serenity were my favorite characters in this book, well of course next to Sonnet and Andrew. The author was really creative with the hilarious obstacles that kept popping up while they were redoing the house left to them, from millipedes to rusty nails, sinkholes and then oh my goodness an alligator in Delaware. I laughed out loud so many times. This book just plain made me feel good, I Loved It!!!!

The Flip is a funny story that is not your typical romance story. The main characters, Andrew and Sonnet, went to school together starting in elementary school, but were hardly friends at all. Andrew teased Sonnet endlessly and when he wasn’t teasing her, he was ignoring her. Sonnet was only interested in learning, getting good grades and avoiding Andrew. They shared a common interest though growing up in Aunt Penny, Sonnet’s next door neighbor and Andrew’s great-aunt.
As you can tell from the blurb, these two inherit a house that needs a little fixing up.

This story made me laugh out loud and even snicker several times. Especially when Andrew discovers what Sonnet is reading on her Kindle.

“I close out of the book so I can see the title on the screen along with the rest of the books on her
virtual shelf. “Mountains Wanted?” I ask, eyebrows raised. “I bet there’s some metaphorical mountains involved,” I wink at her. “Fisher of Men? The Playground?”

Sonnet sounds like my type of reader friend!

Montgomery has a writing style that completely wraps me up and makes me forget everything around me. While this is book two in the Romance in Rehoboth series, it can be read as a standalone. I really loved reading this book and think you will too!

Annelise Lowe is a pre-school teacher who loves her job and has done what was expected of her, always pleasing everyone, her family, church and her husband Aaron. Annelise’s family is definitely different and they preach the lord to one and all and are more than happy to call Annelise out for being different in their eyes, they berate her and put her down without a care for her feeling. After getting married Aaron and Annelise have made having children their main priority but getting what they want is not happening and is causing issues. Annelise has always been a bigger girl and her weight is not helping with the dreams of having a child.

Aaron seems to only be concerned with himself, his job and having children. He is always on at Annelise because of her weight and because of this Annelise’s self esteem are at an all time low and she believes that she is the one to blame for the state of their marriage.

Annalise meets Trek Blue a single father raising two children after the loss of his wife to cancer through his daughter, Bailey who has just started kindy after moving closer with his mother to start over. Bailey is struggling and is very bright and Annalise finds herself tutoring Bailey. Annelise and Trek become friends and helps her through some tough times.

Annalise’s sister, Charity is much younger than her and her brothers but they find themselves forming a stronger bond when tough times arise and only a sister would understand.

Will Annalise finally find out what has her husband so driven to patch things up? Will she finally love herself for who she is? Will her family understand and support her when she needs them most? Will she be able to finally live a life she has always wanted?

The overall story is good and my favourite quote from the book is “You’ve been given to fly, my love. You just need to believe you can.” Enjoy!

Fat Girl by K.L. Montgomery is a story, well more like a diary or a column in a paper, about a woman named Claire, who is separated from her husband. She thinks it is due to her weight. She’s the mother of a teenager and works hard at her job. She is turning 40 and really wants to change her body, her mind and her life and ends up changing her heart as well.

“All I need to do is find my own path to happiness. I have all the ingredients I need: a family, amazing friends, a job I love. The only thing that has been holding me back all this time is me. I haven’t let myself be happy.”

O.M.G. I’m a fat girl too!! Of course I already knew this but I swear Montgomery was in my head and heart while she was writing the “fat” parts of this story. While this “story” is a real eye opener, it was also entertaining. Claire is funny, outgoing and sarcastic! She grows a great deal and realizes two things: everyone’s fat is different, and even though we shouldn’t care what others think about us everyone still wants to be accepted and receive unconditional love.

“The point is being healthy, happy, and above all, yourself. Not making yourself crazy trying to be someone else’s idealized version of yourself,”

K.L. Montgomery is a new to me author so I’m not sure how her other books are written but this one hits the spot. Its funny, endearing, and honest. This story is definitely worth a read no matter what size you are!
