Pigs by Daniel James. I’ll be honest this was a bit outside my comfort zone of reading but man am I glad I gave it a shot. This book was packed with suspense, action and twists and turns. Not one minute was I not on the edge of my seat waiting for what would happen next. This author knows how to get even the smallest of details through enough for reader to imagine it all. This book completely sucked me in and I couldn’t put it down. The characters are so well written and the storyline had me hooked. This story will have you heart racing and have you trying to turn the pages as fast as possible to see what happens. I’m really glad I stepped outside my comfort zone and found this author. Can’t wait for more! Five stars all the way and highly recommended.
Loving Jake (Almost Perfect Series Book 1) by Lisa Lanay. Ok first off I’m a sucker for a friends to lovers book, and it’s even better if it’s just a little forbidden. This author knows romance and I’m excited to read more. Jake and Kimberly both frustrated me and made me love them. I couldn’t put this book down from start to finish I was hooked. The characters are complex and relatable, and I couldn’t help but root for each of them for different reasons. The author has a wonderful way of drawing the readers in and making us forget it’s a book. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I’d have to say this story is in my top five favorites for this year. I can’t wait to see where the author takes readers next. Five stars and highly recommend.
REVIVE (Rewind Book 3) by Rowan Shaw. This author is quickly becoming one of my top reads for sure. These books can definitely be read as a stand-alone without any confusion but I do recommend them all. These two characters may have wiggled right into my “favorites characters “ position in this series. I was instantly hooked from page one and completely drawn into Brandon and Patrick’s story. Each one of them having their own hang ups and secrets. Both bring something unique to the already incredible storyline. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I’m excited to see where the author takes readers next. Five stars for a book I won’t soon forget!
Love & Omens (Crescent City Ghost Tours Book 2) by Carrie Pulkinen. It just keeps getting better! I will say these books can be read as a stand-alone without any confusion but I do highly recommend the first story also and the characters are entwined also. So first and foremost let me just start by saying I was so completely drawn into Blake and Sydney’s story. I got so wrapped up I lost track of time and before I knew I’d been up ready late into the night because I couldn’t put it down. I love a story I can sink into and this author does just that with the story world she created. The characters are complex and relatable, each bringing something unique to the story. I love the mix of suspense, romance and paranormal and this author found just the right amount of each. It kept me on my toes and I loved every minute of it. I love the attention to even the smallest details making the story jump off the pages and come alive before your eyes. I’m excited to see where the author takes readers next. Five stars all the way and I highly recommend not only this series but this author!
Knight Watch (An Alliance Agency Novel Book 1) by India Kells & Maddie Wade. What a great story! These two authors come together to give readers a story filled to the brim with action and romance. The characters are so well defined I could easily picture them in my mind, in fact the entire book is that way. I found myself completely drawn into this story world and read this in one sitting. I definitely had more than one instance where I found myself of the edge of my seat. I honestly can’t think of a better book to spend your evening with. Five huge stars and highly recommended. Can’t wait to see where these authors take us next because it’s bound to be incredible!
Fire & Ice (Spicetopia Book 3) by Phoebe Alexander. Not once has this author failed to leave me breathless with her stories. I’ve been not so patiently waiting for more in this incredible world that’s been created. These stories can definitely be read as stand-alone but I do highly recommend them all.
Neve and Enya are characters that you won’t soon be forgetting they couldn’t be anymore different but it so works in this story. They each bring something unique to the story. Stalking the Stalker (Valley View Mysteries Book 2) by Laura Hawks. Ok so let me just start by saying wow what a ride. This author knows how to keep the readers guessing and on our toes. Every time I thought I’d figured out something bam a new turn! It was incredible. There’s so much this book has to offer from the mystery and suspense to the drama that unfolds for these characters. I love this authors attention to even the smallest details. The storyline is well written and paced just right, I never felt rushed or that it was lacking anything. I was honestly on the edge of my seat the entire story and I couldn’t put it down. The characters all bring something unique to move the story along. I was completely taken surprised by this story. Not because it was amazing ,because I already had a feeling it would be. But it’s different than other books by this author I’ve read and I absolutely loved it! It’s a book that has you wanting to find a comfortable chair and just reading and never stop. The characters are complex and relatable, June has a story to be told and trust me you don’t want to miss out. I was just so completely hooked. Hope (Feisty Lawyers Book 4) by Seelie Kay. Once again this author pulls me in so deep I couldn’t put this book until I’d finished. I do highly recommend reading these in order. This author just has this amazing way of finding the perfect mix between action, suspense and romance. Hope is quite the amazing character, there were times when I was wishing I had her as a friend. She’s relatable and you can’t help but root for her from the sidelines. This series seriously just keeps getting better, kept me on the edge of my seat.
