Savage Truth (Hidden Valley Elite Book 2) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Katie Kearney

Savage Truth (Hidden Valley Elite #2)Savage Truth by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This one picks up right where book one ends and just like the first one it was great. This time I had no problem sinking right into Cole and Riley’s world. I’m sad to leave these characters because they really captured a piece of my heart. Cole had me cursing his name a lot but you can’t help but understand that underneath it all he’s just hurt by his past. Riley will always have my heart she’s got sass and I just overall loved her character. There’s romance, suspense and everything I love in a story. I’m looking forward to more from this author. Five stars and highly recommended!

Hidden Mischief (Shattered Embrace #1)Hidden Mischief by Alyndra Quinn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Zachary & Ashton pulled me into their world effortlessly and I loved my time with them. I love Ashton’s character she may be a submissive in parts of her life but don’t mistake her for a doormat or some shy person. She’s so sassy and I love everything about her. Zach will give you all the heart racing vibes. There’s plenty of heat but this author doesn’t over do it, there’s plenty of great written story with steamy parts sprinkled in. I will say while obviously we’re all about the main characters, you’ll also really enjoy the supporting characters also. I really enjoyed my time with this book and definitely can’t wait for more. Four big stars and highly recommended!

This book took me a few chapters to really sink into. I loved the characters right away but the storyline seemed forced and I’m not sure if I’m explaining that clearly but it made it hard for me to really fall into the story. But please if you find yourself in the same place give it time please because trust me this author will soon have you completely captured. I absolutely loved the relationship between Petra, Callum and Weston they might actually be some of my very favorite characters this year. There’s plenty of spice in this book but it’s not overly done in my opinion it’s a sprinkle of spice which was nicely done. There’s bits of suspense thrown into the mix. It may have taken me a couple chapters to really dig in but once I did I was really excited for each new page. Five stars and highly recommended.

Savage Lies (Hidden Valley Elite #1)Savage Lies by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I wasn’t exactly sure how I would feel going into this story. I know the blurb was intriguing enough to give it a go though. I’ll be honest it took me a couple chapters to really sink into it but once I found my groove it went by way too fast at no fault of the author or speed of the book. Just my need to read as fast as possible and know what happens next. Cole is my new favorite jerk I love to hate but can’t help but feel for also and I think it takes true talent to get readers to feel this way. Riley is probably in my top three favorite female characters for this year, instantly felt an easy connection to her character. This isn’t a super long book, honestly it’s the perfect length, nice steady speed and easy to follow. Great story and I’m excited for the next. Four stars and highly recommended.

I love a good romantic suspense story that can pull me in from page one. This story had it all action, drama, romance and characters you can connect with easily. This author is new but I’m already excited for more. The characters pull you so completely into their world making it almost impossible to put the book down until the last page. It’s got a fast pace with a lot going on but the author does a great job of keeping it in a very clear story that makes you sink into it. I know the year has just started but this book is already in my top reads for it. Five stars and can’t wait to see where this author takes us next.

Ever go into a book fully expecting it to be a certain way but then bam completely different? That’s most definitely how this story went for me in all the great ways. There’s twist and turns I didn’t see coming and the storyline kept me on my toes waiting for what was to come. Action, suspense and romance all rolled into a great read. This book threw me for loop. This story was a bit hard to follow at times due to POV changes and such in my opinion but the base of the storyline was really good. I definitely was left feeling like this author kept me on the edge of my seat. I love a book that keeps me guessing and doesn’t spell it out too easily and early. It’s a short read but it’s a well written story. The characters easily draw you in. All in all a good read and I do recommend it. Four big stars.

This book pulled at my heart from the start. Hope and Adam will definitely steal your heart. There’s just about everything you could want in this story. Yes it’s a story with loss but the outcome is beautiful. The author writes a beautiful story with hard subjects and it’s done wonderfully. There’s times I had tears running down my face but there was also times of laughter. The author balances it well. It’s got a nice pace never felt rushed or drawn out unnecessarily. I’d definitely recommend this story to anyone and give it five stars.

My little one loves a story before bedtime so we picked this one since he’s really started to notice our dogs lately. He’s one and this was probably just about perfect for him. He really liked the pictures and I did to they were bright and engaging. The story itself was cute and easy to follow as little Kingston sees different animals through the story. I personally think it was a good story for a younger child. Four stars and highly recommend. I’ll definitely look for more from this author for bedtime stories.

Listen I’m a sucker for a stalker story. I love books about women living though something dangerous. This author has had my attention for a while with this series and it’s just gotten better as it’s gone. Hannah and Doyle may just be my favorite characters but don’t get me wrong every ones story is amazing. They just seemed to connect with me more. This book had me guessing and second guessing, i for one love a book that isn’t spelled out from the beginning. Liar, Liar (The McIntire County Series Book 4) by Winter Austin – Review by Katie Kearney

Liar, Liar (The McIntire County Series: #4)Liar, Liar by Winter Austin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This author grabs you right from the beginning every time. I’ve read the first three in this series and this one was just as awesome. I read these in order and I do recommend it that way simple because I think in enhanced the overall experience. I will say you definitely could read them as stand alone with no confusion though which I can appreciate. This book kept me guessing and on my toes just as well as the first three and to me that’s the accomplishment of an author. I love when I can’t see the entire storyline played out way before I get the the end. This author writes characters that are so easy to connect with and they simply draw you into their world and it’s hard to say goodbye at the end. Shane may be my favorite character from this series, there was just something “more” about his character that called to me. But each character in this book brings everything this story needs. Another five star read from this author who is definitely a one click for me now.

This one we followed Jolie and Xavier and let me tell you, you will be completely hooked start to finish and each chapter keeps you on your toes. The characters once again draw you completely into their world with such ease. They are easy to connect with. It’s well written and keeps you guessing. Five stars all the way and highly recommended. This book I was iffy on from the start I mean it’s a hard subject matter but I’ll be honest by the end I’m actually really glad I got it. Sometimes as parents we sugar coat hard stuff for our kids, this book took a hard situation for people of all ages really and handled it with clear information but also the heart side of it. My nieces thought it was a good book to help kids understand this part of pet owning and such. The illustrations were beautifully done.Four stars for a good story that touched our hearts.

This was a cute book that I enjoyed reading with my nieces ages 10 and 11. Each of them took turns reading, each did very well so it was easy to read and understand. This story actually really had them wanting to also have a pen pal. It’s a story that also had us learning new things about a different place so that was fun, it also had some difficult subject matter but this author handled it wonderfully. My nieces really got hooked and it opened a lot of different conversations with them about different parts of the world. The art work wasn’t every page but when it was there it was colorful and well done.Over all we’d give this book a four star rating and my nieces would like more stories like this.

This author knows how to get you so draw into a story that the real world disappears. I felt every emotion written into this story so easily. It’s well written with great characters. I’m a firm believer in trying something new every now and then to see if I’d enjoy more than just a romance. Boy was I surprised when this and book one became a couple of my favorite books. This author has a unique idea in this storyline and I love how different it is. From page one I promise you will find yourself drawn into the pages and never once missing to real world. I got this book for my nieces who are 9 and 11. Each of us really enjoyed the storyline and characters. My nieces took turns reading and both had an easy time really getting into the story. Some times kids can be easily distracted and my nieces are this way a lot of the time but once they started this book they kept wanting to keep going. I loved to take away from the story I believe it hit close to home with my oldest niece. I’m a huge fan of a story that can entertain but also teach kids a valuable lesson. My nieces were asking for more books after this one so I’ll definitely take that as a win. We all agreed it’s a five star story.
