My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Confectioner’s Exile: The Confectioner Chronicles Prequel Novella By Claire Luana. This novella may be short but the author knows all the right ways to pack a punch even in fewer pages. Here we get some back story on Hale before he was with the Confectioner’s Guild. You see him grow after his perfect life comes crashing down. This novella is fast paced and filled with action. I wasn’t immediately drawn in but soon found my hook and then I couldn’t put it down so definitely give it a chance. The author is amazing with details and brings the story alive no matter how many pages it has. I’m excited to read more from this author. I’m giving this novella a four star review and recommend it.

Calling the Curveball: a Lawson Family Novel By Tracey Cramer-Kelly – Review by Katie Kearney

Calling the CurveballCalling the Curveball by Tracey Cramer-Kelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Calling the Curveball: a Lawson Family Novel By Tracey Cramer-Kelly. This story of second chances is one I won’t be forgetting anytime soon. From page one I was drawn into Kira and Jamie’s emotional story. The author does a wonderful job of writing characters you can relate to and feel a connection with as well as feeling the connection they have together. With each passing emotion that’s written you feel it more than just read the words and that’s one of my favorite parts of their story. Each character has their own heartbreaks in the past and are trying to figure out life after them. The storyline is well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. The characters are complex and believable, you truly feel like it plays out in front of your eyes. This is my first book by this author and it definitely won’t be my last, I’m excited to see where else readers are taken with this author. I’m giving this book a five star review because it truly had me feeling like I never wanted it to end. I recommend this to everyone.

Ring Tru (Thick as Theives Book 1)Ring Tru by Janice M. Whiteaker
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ring Tru (Thick as Thieves Book 1) By Janice M. Whiteaker. I’m a sucker for a second chance romance story with suspense thrown in and this time was no different. Immediately I was drawn into Tru and Will’s story, these two characters had this connection that jumped off the page and has you feeling every single emotion they do. I really enjoyed this story since it was a bit different from my normal reads in a very good way. It’s got some twists and turns that had me turning the pages as fast as possible but also wishing it wouldn’t end so fast. It’s well written and paced nicely. I’m excited to see where the next book takes readers. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it to anyone. I’ll definitely be adding to to my read again list!

Love, Christmas - Movies You Love (The Holiday Series Book 2)Love, Christmas – Movies You Love by Mimi Barbour
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love, Christmas – Movies You Love (The Holiday Series Book 2) By Mimi Barbour, Leanne Banks, Joan Reeves, Mona Risk, Rebecca York, Jacquie Biggar, Alicia Street, Nancy Radke, Katy Walters, Stephanie Queen, Aileen Fish, Rachelle Ayala, Dani Haviland, Traci Hall, Taylor Lee, Donna Fasano, Cynthia Cooke, Susan Jean Ricci, Tamara Ferguson, Suzanne Jenkins, Natalie Ann, Ev Bishop, Alyssa Bailey, Stacy Eaton, Jen Talty, Melinda De Ross.

Give me all the Christmas type stories you can all year round! I’m a sucker for them and this collection is fantastic and exactly what I was hoping for. Each story is different and well written. A few of my favorites are: Her Mr. Miracle, Mistletoe Inn and A Christmas Creek Carol.
In Her Mr. Miracle we meet Ronnie who needs a bit of an escape but runs into some issues and meets Adam. This entire story makes my heart melt and had me hooked. It’s well written and paced nicely.

In Mistletoe Inn we get an emotional romance story about Noah and Molly. It’s everything I love in a holiday season romance story. The characters are relatable and easy to connect with. The author captures the spirit in written form with attention to details and characters you can relate to.

In A Christmas Creek Carol we have Ebony and Blaze who have known each other forever but will this holiday season bring them closer like Blaze would like? Ebony is all work with a deadline, can she remember there’s more to life than work over the holiday?

Each story pulls at heartstrings and captured the holiday spirit. I absolutely love when authors come together for collections because it’s a great way to find new authors and try their stories. I love everything about this collection and will definitely be reading more by each author and reading this collection over again! Giving this collection a five star review and highly recommend it to anyone.

Michael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington. I went into this story expecting it to be good because it sounded like just what I was looking for. What I wasn’t prepared for was just how amazing it ended up being, immediately I was drawn into this story and couldn’t put it down. This story is beyond beautifully written, it’s incredible. Painting Kuwait Violet By Pamela Q Fernandes – Review by Katie Kearney

Painting Kuwait VioletPainting Kuwait Violet by Pamela Q. Fernandes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Painting Kuwait Violet By Pamela Q Fernandes. This was my first book by this author and I wasn’t sure what to expect but I wasn’t disappointed in the least. This story was one I read in one sitting just because I continued to “have” to know what would happen next. It took me a little bit to connect fully with the book but when I got there, there was no going back. The characters are complex and flawed yet relatable and strong. It’s a book filled with life questions and suspense. Violet’s character is one that will stick with me in the future she’s just beautifully written. The entire story is well written and thought out with great attention to details. It has a nice easy flow and never felt rushed or dragging. I really enjoyed this story. I’m giving this book a four star review and highly recommend it to everyone.

THE PLOT By Melinda De Ross. This story literally blew me away! It is an incredible story that touches on some subjects that some people like to pretend don’t exist, and it’s written so well and with so many emotions and just take you for an incredible journey of YoKo. It’s a story filled with raw emotions, secrets and two characters growing. I was immediately hooked when I opened this book, this is my first book by this author and I definitely wasn’t disappointed and can’t wait to read more. The attention to details is wonderful and makes for a more rounded story. It’s paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. This isn’t you typical romance story but it’s one with action and suspense at times. With characters you can’t help but love and root for. Be ready for an emotional ride. The Jack (The Immortal Series Book 2) By MK Harkins – Review by Katie Kearney

The Jack (The Immortal Series Book Two)The Jack by M.K. Harkins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Jack (The Immortal Series Book 2) By MK Harkins. This story had me completely hooked from page one. I had a little trouble in book one but those troubles are way in the past. I highly recommend reading these in order to really enjoy this world the author has brought readers. This fantasy story is much more than just that, it has romance, suspense and action. While we watch Archer and Sadie’s book unfold be ready for an incredible journey and adventure. The author writes a story that completely comes to life before you eyes with great attention to details and characters that are just as flawed and relatable as anyone living on earth. There was definitely times where I had to remind myself I was reading a story and not living it. It’s an amazingly written story that can’t be truly compared to any other storyline. It’s well thought out and paced nicely. The characters drag you into their world and I had a hard time leaving when all was said and done. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend this book.

The Sound of Love (The Sound series Book 1) By Maria Watts – Review by Katie Kearney

The Sound of Love (The Sound series #1)The Sound of Love by Maria Watts
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Sound of Love (The Sound series Book 1) By Maria Watts. Just when you think having all your dreams come true would make life perfect, this story gives readers a look at the other side of that coin when reality hit. I really enjoyed this story even though it was a bit far fetched, but that’s the thing with fiction you can do whatever you’d like. But it’s not the idea of the story that’s hard to believe just a few of the things that happened. Most girls have a boy band favorite and dream about the day that they’ll come sweep us off our feet. But as Nina finds out in this book there’s always pros and cons to dreams becoming reality. We watch Nina and Chris grow in this story, at times I forgot I was reading and just wanted to smack them but over all I really liked the characters and the storyline. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or dragging. I read well into the night. If you’re looking for a teenager romance that’s a bit different pick this one up. I’m giving this book a four star review.

Self Love: A British Tale of Woe and Wit by TL Clark – Review by Katie Kearney

Self LoveSelf Love by T.L. Clark
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Self Love: A British Tale of Woe and Wit by TL Clark. While I did feel this story had a bit of a slow beginning and didn’t immediately draw me in, once it picked up a bit I found myself lost in it’s pages. Molly is trying to figure out who she is in this crazy big world. She’s a bit on the downer side when it comes to her view of herself but I can honestly say I connected with her on many levels even though I hate to think that at times. You truly get to see inside the head space of Molly and it’s quite the ride. This story took me on a bit of an emotional journey right along with Molly. It’s a bit different from this authors other books and for that alone I was excited because I love the others and it’s nice to see an author right in more genres. The storyline is well written and easy to follow and I really did love the characters. I’m giving this book a four star review and recommend it to everyone.

Deadly Alliance: A Fortis/Purgatory Crossover NovelDeadly Alliance: A Fortis/Purgatory Crossover Novel by Maddie Wade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Deadly Alliance: A Fortis/Purgatory Crossover Novel By Maddie Wade and India Kells. This book is what crossovers are made of, from page one I knew I’d be completely useless to the outside world until I finished. I couldn’t or should I say wouldn’t put it down until the end, I was completely drawn into this story filled with action, mystery and suspense. These two worlds fit together so seamlessly Shane And Emme are characters you can completely relate to and feel for. The authors do a wonderful job of writing a story you sink into and forget at times your reading a story and not loving the life within the pages. There’s plenty of twists and turns that keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat. It’s well written and paced nicely. I’m giving this book a five star review only because I can’t give any higher, but I wish I could! Highly recommend this book!

Savannah’s Saviors (The Cowboys of Cavern County Book 5) By Bella Settarra – Review by Katie Kearney

Savannah's Saviors (Cowboys of Cavern County, #5)Savannah’s Saviors by Bella Settarra
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Savannah’s Saviors (The Cowboys of Cavern County Book 5) By Bella Settarra. Oh how this book immediately pulled me in and I couldn’t shake it until the very end. This is the first book I’ve read in the series and by this author, so I read this as a standalone with only a bit of confusion. But it’s not a completely lost on what’s going on in the book, it’s just that nagging feeling like there’s a story you’re missing and need to know more about. You can read it and enjoy it fully alone but I’ll definitely be going back and reading the rest because I loved this one. Savannah’s character was just the right mix of strong and broken down. I love stories that have the characters having a difficult past they break away from. Tom and Greg are so dreamy and will have you wishing you weren’t just reading a book. But they are also sweet and protective. I loved everything about this book it’s well written and paced nicely. It has its steamy parts but it’s more than just those, it’s a story about finding your way out of tough times and finding your true path. I’m looking forward to reading more of these stories. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it.

Give and Take (The Thorne Brothers, #2)Give and Take by Lee Kilraine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Give and Take (The Thorne Brothers) By Lee Kilraine. I enjoyed this story as a standalone but I’m definitely excited to read the other books. Wyatt and Rhia captured my heart completely from the very first page. I connected so much with both of them and I almost forgot I was reading a book. These two couldn’t be more different but does that really matter? Each character pulled all my emotions to the surface where I felt everything the author wrote into the story. I laughed and and at times tearing up a bit. The story told is beautiful and hits close to home. It’s well written and paced nicely. I love this story and can’t wait to read more from this author. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it to anyone.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Reader (The Immortal Series Book 1) By MK Harkins. While I wasn’t immediately drawn in, I did eventually get hooked on this story of a young girl in a world she doesn’t know. Now I did take an instant liking to the main character Ann, I simply loved her character. In fact I liked every character for a different reason, each of them brings something unique and different to the story making for a really great reading experience. This book is more than just a paranormal type story there’s a healthy dose of suspense that keeps you on both the edge of your seat and the tips of your toes. The characters are complex, flawed and believable. The author brings the story to life simply with the way it’s written. It’s well thought out and paced nicely. I’m excited to read more. Special Agent Charli (Undercover FBI Book 6)Special Agent Charli by Mimi Barbour
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Special Agent Charli (Undercover FBI Book 6) by Mimi Barbour. While this is book 6 it can be read as a standalone without any questions or confusion. From page I was drawn into this story. Charli’s character is one that I immediately took a liking to, she’s a bit different than normal female main characters. A bit of a tougher nut to crack as she’s built walls high. All the characters in this story brought something unique and different to the story, even ones that I didn’t click with immediately still warmed their way into my heart by the end. They mystery of the story is well written and paced nicely, definitely left me on the edge of my seat more than once. I read this as a standalone but I definitely can’t wait to read the other in this series. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it to everyone.

The Catch (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 2) by Phoebe Alexander. While this is book two you can read it as a standalone without any questions or confusion. I knew by who wrote this book and the description that I’d like this book, but in all honesty that’s not where it stops. I absolutely loved this book and the amazing characters in it. From page one the main character Paisley drags you into her world. This story is definitely steamy but it’s also a bit suspenseful and I love that in a book. The author does a wonderful job of keeping all aspects of the story equal and well written. The characters are complex and flawed making them both believable and relatable to readers. The author is amazing at writing a story that can come alive before your eyes and make you forget you’re just reading a book. I’m giving this book a five star review and can’t wait to read more!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Just Exes By Charity Ferrell. First off let me just say it took me a couple days to recover from this incredibly written story. Going in I thought I’d be get a nice easy and maybe fun exes to lovers story. Instead I got a story filled to the brim with secrets, a bit of suspense and emotions that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Lauren and Gage had everything figured out until one day it just wasn’t, secrets aren’t ever easy. I love the banter back and forth because it feels genuine and believable. The characters just clicked for me, I never felt like they didn’t fit. It’s an emotional roller coaster that I really wish I could read again for the first time. Get ready for quite the ride. It’s well written and paced nicely with characters I just fell in love with completely. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it to everyone.

Joker’s Fool (Satan’s Devils MC) By Manda Mellett. This story blew me away completely. I wasn’t sure what to expect but what I got was absolutely incredible. An emotional roller coaster for sure but one that you’ll want to ride again and again. This story is about finding the way to loving yourself and accepting the love another can give. The characters oh the characters, seriously they stole my heart and soul within their pages! The author does an incredible job of writing a story with so much emotions you truly feel them soul deep as you read about Lady and Joker’s journey. From page one I was completely sunk into this story of uniqueness. M/M aren’t normally my first pick, I’ve read a few but this one was completely different and I truly wish I could read it again for the first time! Please whatever you do, don’t let the M/M scare you off because this is a wonderful story. I’ve read others in this series and this one just added to its already amazing stories.
