Forbidden Blood (The Shadow Chronicles Book 4)Forbidden Blood by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a fantastic addition to the story and I devoured it so quickly. It is an exciting and fast paced fantasy story that is so well written. I loved the characters that this booked focused on. Although it is the fourth book in the series it could be read as a standalone. However, I would highly suggest reading all of the series for the best enjoyment.
This book was gripping from start to finish and I became utterly engrossed in it. This is the kind of book that you read in one sitting and still want more, even after it is finished. This is a brilliant book and probably my favourite so far. I cannot wait for the next book.

This is an intriguing mystery story that is full of twists and turns all the way to the end. I was pulled in to the story from the moment I started reading. Watching everything unfold, I had to know how it was all going to turn out. I thought the way the author built up the story was brilliant. Everything seemed to be an extra layer, from the characters to the story line. I enjoyed unpicking it all through to the conclusion.
This is still an author I am only relatively familiar with but I am becoming increasingly impressed with. Each book I enjoy with ease and look forward to reading more. This is a well crafted and interesting story that is well worth the read.

This is another great addition to this series, and I think it is my favourite so far. I love a good enemies to lovers story and I really seemed to connect with this one. The Finding (Berrycreek Heights Series Book 1) by A. M. Porto – Review by Kerry Baker

The Finding (Berrycreek Heights, #1)The Finding by A.M. Porto
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was much more intense and dark than I had expected going into it. I hadn’t read the blurb or any reviews and, based off the title alone, I was expecting a light hearted YA romance. And yet this book is the opposite of that and so much more. I felt like I went through a rollercoaster of emotions when reading this book and I loved watching how it all played out.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and this has all the markings of an amazing series. I was pulled into the story easily and I thought it was well developed. This is a great book and I am looking forward to the next.

This series just keeps getting better and better with each book that I read. For the prequel to the next duet, this really starts off with a bang. I already suspect Phoenix and Aspen are going to be my favourite couple of the series. They have undeniable chemistry and yet clearly have a long road ahead of them.
This author has created such a strong and lasting series. It is one of the best I have read all year and I do not want it to end any time soon. I am desperate to get my hands on the next book to see how things will play out. If you haven’t read it yet I would highly recommend you pick up this whole series today.

The second book in the series, I thought this was a great follow up to the first book and can be read as a standalone. I thought this book was even more entertaining than the first. The connection between the characters was just as strong as those in the first but I found these ones to be funnier. I enjoyed watching their relationship build as the story went on.

This is a great second chance romance and one in which you will really root for the characters the whole way through. This book is a combination of some of my favourite tropes – second chance, secret baby, sports. I knew I was going to enjoy this book as soon as I started reading and I can definitely say that I did. It was lovely to see the connection between the main characters build again after so much time apart.
This is a new author to me and if this book is anything to go by it is one who will become very familiar. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters and the overall writing style. It found the book to be easy to read, the perfect escape into a fictional world. I am looking forward to book 2 already.

Right from the moment you start reading, this book has so much more to it than expected. I thought I would get hot and sexy and I thought I would get strong chemistry between the characters. There is a lot more going on in this book than I originally thought which is supported by strong and fascinating characters.

House of Arsceneaux (Servants of Morrigan: Immortal Creatures) by Caterina Novelliere – Review by Kerry Baker

House of ArsceneauxHouse of Arsceneaux by Caterina Novelliere

Although a short story, this book is action packed and exciting right from the word go. The author has created a story that really draws you in and throws you straight into the lives of these characters. If you have read the main series you already have an understanding of these characters and it was nice to get a glimpse of them all again.
I thought the story was a little confusing at times. It could be quite hard to follow, especially for a short book. However, overall I enjoyed the story and wanted to see how things would play out. I would definitely say it is worth giving this book a try.

Ways to Improve Bailey by Cori Cooper – Review by Kerry Baker

Ways to Improve BaileyWays to Improve Bailey by Cori Cooper
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is another fun and entertaining read by an author that knows how to create sweet romances. I think this book has to be one of my favourites by her and the characters are the reason. I loved Bailey and Tanner. Their connection grows over time and it is nice to see how much Bailey was surprised by him. I usually find a little harder to connect with the characters in a clean romance but I was really taken in by these two.
The story was written perfectly for them too. It flowed well and had an easy reading pace to it. This was a thoroughly enjoyable book from a great author.

This is an engaging and entertaining book that teaches children the importance of taking care of themselves. It brings a new take on kindness that not all children will have thought about. I thought this book did a great job of opening up new topics for discussion that myself and my daughter hadn’t touched on before.
I think the message in this book is one for adults to take note of as well. The best way to look after others is to make sure you look after yourself first. This was a great, educational book and should be shared with children.

This is such an emotional and touching read from the start to the finish. Although it is a work in fiction, it is inspired by true events and well known historical ones. It is so hard to imagine people having to go through what this character did and yet the author did an amazing job of making it seem real and relatable.

It was wonderful to see a historical romance set in the 1920’s as it is not something I have come across before. And the author has done an amazing job of bringing that era to life. Her descriptions, and the story, really made it feel like I was there in the 20s. I could imagine everything being described and it was fascinating to read.
The overall story was fun and easy to read. It is short book so did not take me long to get through it but it was thoroughly enjoyable all the same. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I loved seeing more of these characters and watching them develop over the course of the book. It was heart warming to see them rediscover their love and passion.
The author has created a meaningful story, about characters who don’t always get the spotlight. It was nice to read about characters after the “happy ever after” and I think this was a great book.
