This book is a beauty story about grief, family and connection. It is such a moving story and emotional on every level. This book is entirely about the characters and their journeys – both individual and combined. Each of them were so different and yet their connection brought them together and forged a story so deep.
This is the first book that I have read from this author and I am impressed with the level and style of writing. This book drew me in entirely and I had to see it through to the end. It felt like I was there with the characters, going on the journey with them. I loved every minute of this book and I cannot wait to read more from this author.

This book is the continuation of great series and I was excited to pick up this latest instalment. I wanted to see how things would turn out for the characters and become involved in their adventures again. This book was just as exciting as the others and I reconnected with the characters without issue. I was pulled along on their journey.
As the final book in the trilogy it was a great way to end it all. Although I can definitely say I hope the author will produce more within this series as it really was so good.

Small Fry by Stephenie Wilson Peterson – Review by Kerry Baker

Small FrySmall Fry by Stephenie Wilson Peterson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When I first started reading this book I thought it was going to be a fairy light hearted and feel good story of a young boy overcoming challenges and “defeating” a bully. This book was so much more than that, and so much more emotional than I thought it would be. It was the relationship between Silas and his grandfather that stood out to me the most. It was beautiful and heart breaking at the same time and I loved everything about it.
I have only read a few books by this author so far but this one is definitely my favourite. I am hard pushed to see how another will beat this. I would urge everyone to read this book.

This is a brilliant murder mystery story that kicks off with a bang and keeps you hooked with a storyline full of twists and turns. This is a new author to me so I didn’t know what to expect from his work when I started reading but I instantly fell in love with his writing style. I was pulled into the book straight away and loved that he knew how to capture my attention.

This is an enjoyable short story that really packs a lot into its pages. This is the second book in the series and I would highly recommend reading book 1 first so you get a full understanding of what is going. This is a great story and I enjoyed the unique take on shifters. It isn’t often an author can be original with this trope and it is even more rare for them to do it so well.
I thought the characters fit really well with the book. They were interesting and all had their part to play. This really is a great book and definitely worth your time.

ObedienceObedience by Liza Snow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is unlike any other romance book that I have read before, largely in part due to the circus performer element. It was refreshing to get a book that can still surprise me, I have read so many romance books that most tend to be similar to what I have read. I enjoyed this story more because it wasn’t like that.
The book and the characters were really well written. You could see the development and I found myself pulled into their journey and their lives. I was caught up in everything that was happening, all the turns the author threw out. This was a great book and a strong start to a new series. I am looking forward to the next one.

I knew this book was going to be emotional when I started reading it. From the moment you start reading you really get a sense for this character. Her story, her journey, is incredible and even though it isn’t something the reader has experienced it is easy to imagine the life being lived. This is the first historical romance I have read that is MFM. I think I enjoyed this book more because of it as it seem to add another edge to the story. This book is certainly all about the characters. I was never really just about Suzette. The guys had just a big a par to play with their individual relationship, which I thought was unique for this kind of story.
I thought the overall storyline was really well developed. I engaged with it quickly and looked forward to seeing what was going to happen. This is a new author to me and I am glad this is the first book I have read. I am excited to discover more of her work.

I knew before I started reading that this book would be emotional and I can say without hesitation it was that. This character has got to be one of my all time favourites. I connected with her so easily and I loved that the author chose her as the focal point of this book. It is unusual to come across a book that tackles such a prominent issue and even more rare to find one that does it so well. I think it is so important for more books like this to be written. It gives a great insight into what life with autism must be like and I applaud the author was the accurate depiction. This is a book that everyone should read.

A Curse of Ash and IronA Curse of Ash and Iron by Christine Norris
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is an historical retelling of Cinderella. It is well written and a pretty interesting story. I enjoyed it more than I expected I would – Cinderella adaptions are, in my opinion, starting to feel overdone. However, the author managed to put enough of her own spin on the story that I found it enjoyable. I would have liked there to be a bigger emphasis on the steampunk element as the look and feel of the book suggested that is what we would get.
The characters were good and I liked their instant connection. It stayed true too the original story while also giving its own feel. I think this book was worth reading and I will be exploring more from the author in the future.
