Daisy's Darkness (Wheels & Hogs #6)Daisy’s Darkness by D.M. Earl
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Daisy’s Darkness by D.M. Earl is the sixth book in the Wheels and Hogs series. This is such an emotional and difficult book but it is one of those books that everyone who help read. The author dives right into tackling such difficult and heart wrenching subjects and yet they are ones that are so prevalent in today’s world. The author has done such a good job of writing this book that you feel everything right alongside Daisy – her pain, her anguish, her isolation. It really does feel like there is just no way forward for her. And yet the author shows how it is possible to turn things around, no matter how hard or impossible it seems to be at first. This is a story that I knew I would enjoy but never quite expected to be drawn into it the way I was.
This book really is one that needs to be read by everyone!

This is a unique retelling of a well known story and the author has done a good job of taking the story and creating something new. Kissing the Kavalier by Annette Nauraine is a well written historical romance that completely drew me in. I loved the characters in this book and the romance that builds between them. The way it comes about is so heartwarming and really made me connect with the two of them. You could feel the chemistry from the moment you started reading.
The book felt accurate for the time period it was written in and I liked that it was set in Austria. Most books in this genre I have read are set in England so this was a refreshing change. This is a new author to me and I enjoyed how she approached the book. The writing style had a great flow about it and she did a great job of building up the story and the characters. I really enjoyed this book and I will certainly be looking to read more from her in the future.

The Executive’s Decision (The Keller Family Series Book 1) by Bernadette Marie – Review by Kerry Baker

The Executive's Decision (Keller Family, #1)The Executive’s Decision by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Executive’s Decision by Bernadette Marie is the first book in the Keller Family series. This is a sweet book with relatable characters in it. I think there were certain parts to the book where the story could have used a little more detail – the idea was there but the execution was a little off. However, as the book went on the author clearly found her stride and it felt more cohesive and became much more enjoyable.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and although the story felt a bit predictable I thought the writing was good and well paced. It feels like the story was a great way to set up the start of a new series and introduce characters that we will read about later. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I certainly found it to be enjoyable. I liked the fact that it was an easy read and something that I didn’t have to think too much about. The story was well written and had some pretty steamy scenes. I was quite as taken with the characters like I hoped I would be. I didn’t quite connect with them throughout the book. However that being said it didn’t really take away from my enjoyment and I would be willing to read more from this author in the future. Overall this is an entertaining book worth reading.

Full credit has to be given to this author as not many people can successfully keep a series going for this number of books and yet Meghan seems to do it with ease.

Seconds (Internet Famous, #6)Seconds by Cam Johns
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Seconds by Cam Johns is a brilliant second chance romance with an amazing main character right at its centre. This is the first book that I have read from this author on her own – previous books have been co-written with other authors – and I really loved it. I was pulled in straight away and became absolutely hooked reading about Braxton. Although it is quite a short book the story is jam packed and so engaging. I really wanted to find out if Braxton would find his second chance or if what had happened in his past would prevent that.
I also have to say that this book has one of the most striking covers I have seen in a long time. It caught my eye immediately and I would have one clicked this book off the cover alone. This was a great book that I thoroughly enjoyed and it is one I would highly recommend.

The Tears of Boabdil by Neil MacDonald – Review by Kerry Baker

The Tears of BoabdilThe Tears of Boabdil by Neil MacDonald
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Tears of Boabdil by Neil MacDonald is an action packed and complex story about an undercover operative sent to infiltrate a Jihadi group. They story follows the operative as he carries out his mission and encounters more obstacles along the way than expected. This book definitely has a lot going on in it and it is one that I would say you really need to sit down and read properly so that you can follow what is going on.
The further along the story I got the less sure I became as to how this was all going to turn out. The back and forth that the character goes through while on his journey really has you guessing as to how this all might turn out. I enjoyed the writing style that the author employed to build up the story and found that I really did become invested in what was happening. While this turned out not to be the story I expected it is one that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Sons Of Sindicato by Sonya Jesus and Cam Johns is a dark romance story that is utterly gripping to read. This is a short story that is quick to get through however in no way does that detract from the story. I was pulled in completely by these characters from the moment I started reading. They felt so gritty and real. They really made the whole story for me.
I was familiar with one of these authors but not the other and I was surprised by just how well their writing styles seemed to combine. The story is consistent and comprehensive and it probably one of the best pairings I have read in a while. I really

Goddess of Everything by Paul De Blassie III is an original and intriguing story. It is a well written and detailed book that I found really requires your undivided attention. It is a complex story that really creates a vivid image.
This is a fantasy story of love, family and loyalty and the truth and evil that encompasses this. There is a lot going on in this book so when to read this book you really have to read it – you can’t skim through parts of rush it as you will be sure to miss some detail.

This was a really good, strong book that, if you are a fan of this genre, should read.
