As an educator, I love how diverse (both human and animals) and fun the illustrations are for each alphabet letter. I also enjoyed how the affirmations are bolded, making it easy to realize they are important, as well as listing multiple affirmations for each letter.
The affirmations cover a range of positive themes, including self-love, confidence, gratitude, and resilience. By incorporating these affirmations into their daily lives, children are encouraged to develop a positive mindset and embrace their unique qualities and strengths. The affirmations within the book provide children with effective tools to overcome challenges, enhance their self-belief, and cultivate a sense of inner happiness.

Sometimes we need to be reminded of positive things to say or think about ourselves or others. While this is a children’s book, I thoroughly enjoyed it as an adult.
This book would make a great teaching tool, not only to add more positivity into a child’s life, but also to teach them the alphabet, colors, different ethnicities, etc. There were several golden nuggets in this short read.
The illustrations are also extremely well done! The colors are vibrant, the pictures are relevant and engaging, as well as inclusive of different age groups and ethnicities.

What a cool book! I wish they had books like this when I was littler or even when my kids where smaller. Just the bite size affirmations such as “I am focused on my day!” can make a difference to a child’s outlook. These affirmations are full of life, hope, and joy. It makes you smile reading them. The pages illustrations are bright and colorful. They jump out at you and just bring life and happiness. This will be a great gift for my grandchildren.

This book has beautiful illustrations and a fun rhyming read along for the young ones in your life. My youngest kiddo is 7 so he’s a little bit older for the counting part, but he still loved the pictures and the facts about starfish. Both of my kids thought the singalong was FANTASTIC! We had never seen that before, so it made it interesting and so much fun. This would be absolutely perfect for school and it’s definitely one we won’t soon forget. I highly recommend picking this up and having a blast with the kids!

As I was reading this book, I kept counting the starfish out loud and really enthusiastically like I was reading it to my little one because I can absolutely see myself reading this to my kids! My boys would absolutely love this book with all of the beautiful colors and wonderful rhymes! I especially loved the last couple of pages with facts and the find the object. I learned a few new facts and I love that my kids will, too!

Ten Little Starfish by Kim Ann. This was such a fun book for ages 1-5. Its a great book for learning to count but also just a fun book to read. Its about little starfish that glow all different colors along the ocean beach and you can have your kids pick out the different colors and count how many there are. There are numerous ways throughout the book that you can put your counting skills to use and soon your little one will be a counting champ. Such a great book with pretty, vivid pictures and such a good learning opportunity. I highly recommend this book fo the little one in your life. Also would make a great gift!

This was such an adorable book. I read it with my 3-year-old and he loved it. He loves numbers so I knew this book would be a winner. The illustrations were so colourful and engaging he loved looking at them and finding things within the picture. The writing is beautiful, so easy to read and engaging for my little boy because of the rhyming words. This book was definitely a 5-star winner in this house and one I would highly recommend to young children who are starting out on their counting and learning numbers journey!

Ten Little Starfish is a cute book. It would be perfect for preschoolers who are learning colors and how to count. The illustrations are so colorful and fun, each starfish a unique shape and color. The rhyming was subtle, but helped the story flow. We liked the facts about starfish the author included. My 7 year old knew some and others were new. I love the sunset page at the end.

This book is so cute!! I personally thought that it was adorable. The illustrations are so cute and fun. It is a counting book, so it is wonderful for kids 1-5. You can have your kids search and find all the starfish along the way through the book as you read. There are also some great facts about starfish near the end of the book. Also included are some search and count pages where they give you a few things to find at the end. Then after that there is a search the whole book and count page. It will have you going through the book a couple times with your kid(dos), counting a few different things. Personally I would add on a few more counting challenges using the opening and ending pages. They are illustrated with small shells, crabs, and star fish on those four pages, so you can defiantly add to all the counting fun there! I would recommend this book for babies 1st library up to pre-k. Start them reading young and they’ll be counting in no time!

This is a really cute sea-themed counting book for your littles. I love the rhyming throughout the book and the descriptions on each page. I also like at the end how Ann gives interesting facts about starfish as well as a QR code so you can download the sing-a-long. This would be a great addition to any gift for soon-to-be parents (especially if their theme or décor was beach for sea).

This is a great book for young kids just learning how to read and count. The story itself is easy but engaging. I would recommend this book for kids in lower elementary or below. Rather they can read on their own or not, kids are going to love the beautiful artwork found within this book. Kim Onn has written a great book to get kids interested in counting and in starfish, while Nejla Shojaie has drawn beautiful works of art to engage imaginations.

This a cute 1-2-3 story about a starfish and its day. As you count up with you, learn different interesting facts about starfish. As an added bonus, when you reach the end of the story, there is a short scavanger hunt list to complete using the illustrations from the story.

This was an incredibly detailed, well written, book about counting, but not only did it count to ten you were able to read a lot of detailed information about starfish, like they can regrow their limbs, or glow under the moonlight. There was also some extra facts, and activities at the end of the story to give this book a little bit of an edge. Although my children are older, and wouldn’t enjoyed this book as much as kiddos who are a little younger and have yet to learn to count we did enjoy learning the facts about starfish, and it would be a perfect read for younger kids.

Adorable rhyming book that counts from 1 to 10. The illustrations fit the rhyme and adjectives can stretch your child’s brain (bashful, unique, majestic, and basking).
The only “complaint” about the book is I use the word sea star, instead of starfish, because they are not fish, but understand the term is widely used (and explained at the end). I did appreciate how it discusses not all have 5 arms. At the back of the book there are some search-and-find activities as well as a QR code to the song that corresponds to the text.
