Kissing Scars by Jim Shomos was a really good read. This novel was unlike any I’ve read before, in the way it read like fiction but was based off what has happened to the author in real life. He goes on to explain more at the end. I don’t want to go into too much detail, so I don’t spoil anything, so all I will say is that it was interesting reading what happens culturally in this novel. I also enjoyed the fact that this was a fast read. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I would read more from this author in the future.

I was first drawn to this book by the cover alone! It is beautiful and colorful and really caught my eye. The story is truly amazing. I loved Leo and Sanaya from beginning to the end of the book. I enjoyed on how we find out how they meet, their playful romance and having to deal with a few “scars”. I definitely recommend this read, it is a light and fun easy read.

They say don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Well that is something I always do. Sad, but true. I picked this book because of the beautiful and colorful cover. And man, it did not disappoint. The author, Jim Shomos, was extremely detailed through out this novella. I felt as if I was living the story myself.

Two unsuspecting paths cross. Love that tangles up their world. Unknown choices, heartache, and finally after held breaths the ending we all needed. It is everything you truly dream about.

If you want a short read, but you want all the emotion and deep romantic connection, this book is for you!

Can’t wait to read more from this author.

This is a new author to me, but I was intrigued by the cover. I picked it up and read the synopsis on the back and decided to give it a read. I’m glad that I did. I think that the writer did a great job with the character development and the world description. It was a fantastic and beautiful read but not a long book at all. I read it in no time. Of course, I also didn’t want to put it down. Not only was this a beautifully written romantic comedy, but it also contained quite a bit of drama and emotional turmoil with the typical snags in the way. I look forward to reading more of this authors work. Especially if it’s anything like this one.

I loved the cultural touch to the story. It was so well described I could see the story rolling in my head like a movie. The respect between the two main characters is so inspiring and something to thrive for in a relationship.
This pair turn eachothers world upside down but their connection is so strong they can’t be apart.

Kissing Scars wasn’t a book I would typically read. It took me a while to read it even though it was a short novella. I thought the writing was very good and the characters were very well liked. I’m not sure why I had a hard time getting into it but it was of no fault of the author. This was the first book I have read by him and wasn’t really sure if I was going to be into the book or not.

It was a sweet read about 2 romantics who end up falling for each other. They are very different. There’s a big age difference between the two and they are on different paths. Will they be able to make it work or is there just to
much that they cannot see past? Again I thought it was very well written and I give the book 4 stars.

I fell in love with this romantic comedy novella which is inspired by a true story. When Sanaya, a computer games designer left her home in India to move to Australia and expand her carer she also had dreams of one day falling in love and having a baby. However, when she meets and falls in love with a mobile games pioneer Leo who is divorced with three kids her clear plan suddenly isn’t so clear, especially when Leo announces he does not want anymore children. Meanwhile, Leo who is a born romantic has promised himself that when his youngest son turns eighteen that it will then be his time to follow his dreams, of writing magazine stories around the world. But then he meets and falls in love with Sanaya but she wants a baby and his romance rule is, no more children. In this heartwarming romance, “they discover love writes its own rules”. This wonderfully written novella took me on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading it and I was hooked from start to finish. The authors detailed and descriptive narrative bought both the setting and the likeable and relatable characters to life making me feel fully immersed in their love story.

This is a beautifully written romance. Even though it isn’t a huge book it has a complete story and is action packed and leaves you wanting more. The author does an amazing job at describing Indian culture and the influences of that in this story is lovely.

This book is about 2 people who meet when they least expect it. As well as the age gap between them there is also the fact that Sanaya wants to start a family and Leo has already got kids and doesn’t want any more. The couple have to overcome many obstacles to be together and their journey is on of hope, laughter and quote a few tears all in the name of love.

Kissing Scars by Jim Shomos a sweet and funny five-star read. This was my first by this author and I hope not my last, the writing style was nice, and the flow kept me hooked, the emotions running through this story will astound you, its raw and emotional and at times will suffocate you, and then in others chuckling and smiling with them. This was surprisingly short, it seemed like I had just started and then I was halfway through. But that did mean that you could enjoy the story.

Oh my I really loved this book. This contemporary romance about Leo & Sanaya is breathtaking. It is romantic overload with these two. The reference to Latika’s Theme from Slumdog Millionaire kind of stuck and I ended up listening to it while I read and it pushed me further into the feel of the book. This was my first book by Jim Shomos and it was so good. The words just transported me away!

Kissing Scars is an absolutely beautiful novella! This was my first book by this author so I wasn’t really sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised! This isn’t by normal go-to but I’m so glad I picked this one up, everything about this novella was poetic. The author wrote with so much detail, from the smallest thing to the most important, everything was so detailed that I was able to paint a clear picture in my mind, which made it such a joy to read.

I look forward to reading more from this author in the future!

Kissing Scars by Jim Shomos. I loved this book. It was a little different from the romantic comedies I usually read but it was so good. Once I started I couldn’t put it down. Its the story of Sanaya a computer games designer who moves to Australia in search of love and a family. Once she arrives she meets Leo and they fall in love. The only problem with that is, he is 20 years older than her and has 3 almost grown kids and he does not want anymore kids. Is Sanaya ready to give up her dream of having her own kids? Leo is at a point in his life where he wants to be a magazine writer and travel and doesn’t see anymore children in his future. Will Sanya and Leo be able to make it work? This book will rip your heart out and put it back together. Be prepared to read it from cover to cover once you begin!

I grabbed this book solely because I fell in love with the cover, I went in blind which is something I don’t normally do but because the cover was so inviting I decided to try something new. It took me just a couple kindle swipes to get into the flow and writing style of this author and then literally could not put it down! This story was so beautifully written and I completely fell in love with Sanaya and Leo. I felt like I was actually on their journey with them and their feelings were described so well I could actually feel every emotion. This whole story was different for me, it wasn’t your normal sappy love story (which dont get me wrong, I love sappy a whole lot) but there was a different feel to this. It’s listed as a rom com, and I see that but there was very subtle humor and most of it was the interaction between Sanaya and Leo, which makes sense because there was not a lot of other character involvement within the story.

There was one scene which literally tore my heart out and without realizing, I had tears running down my cheeks and my heart hurt. This was both my favorite scene and my least favorite in the story. If there is one downside to the book, it would have to be I wanted more, knowing what happened next would have been awesome, but my imagination handled the rest.

I can not wait to read more from this author, I loved this book and am so thankful judging it by its cover paid off in spades! I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Kissing scars by Jim Shomos is a quick, easy, and sweet read. It a Contemporary romance about finding love unexpectedly- written beautifully with emotion, humour, drama, angst, and obstacles to overcome.
Because this is such a short little read, I don’t want to give too much away- suffice to say that though this may be short, it packs the punch of a much bigger novel.
Sanaya is a computer games designer who has moved to Australia to better her career. She might have moved for her career, but Sanaya also dreams of one day starting a family. Then along comes Leo, who is two decades older than her, with three grown children of his own and no desire for anymore. But the heart wants what the heart wants- and so this story unfolds. What happens next makes for a emotive read.
Now that I have had a taste of what he can do I am looking forward to reading more of Mr Shomos’s work.

Thank you, Jim Shomos!

I enjoyed this romance comedy story. This is my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more from them in the future. This is a well written story that the author used attention to details to give the story a realistic feel. The characters bring the story to life and made the story easy to read. This story is full of emotion including a few laughs mixed into the romance. This is a story about Sanaya leaves India to start a new life and start a family one day. Then you have Leo who is a father of boys. When his son reaches 18 years old, Leo decides to pursue his dream of writing. What neither one of them expects is to find the other and what fate has in store for them. I enjoyed their chemistry and what they brought to the story. They are fun characters that just made the story for me. I highly recommend this book.

Kissing Scars tells the tragic love story of Sanaya and Leo. Unexpectedly falling in love with one another, Sanaya and Leo seem like the perfect match–until Leo tells Sanaya he has no desire to have more children. 48, divorced, and with 3 teenagers, Leo is looking forward to his new life. Sanaya, however, is young, looking for her future husband, and wants to be a mother. What will happen when their worlds collide? A well written, short romantic novella, Kissing Scars is a must read for romance fans. One of the best parts of the story is the raw, real dialogue between the characters. The author paints a vivid picture of both character and environment.

I absolutely fell for the characters and their love story EXCEPT their differences but somehow that didn’t stop them from winning love together. This book hit me on a deeper level than just being a love story though: It was one of true love, compromising and what relationships with others are really made of. From the way this author wrote to the way the cultures blurred together made this story much more beautiful to the reader in unexpected ways: in magical ways, this book is highly recommended!

Kissing Scars by Jim Shomos is a sweet, romantic novella. I am not going to mention much detail so that I do not give the entire story away. This was a fast read and I read from beginning to end in one sitting. Sanaya is moving on with her career but is ready for love, marriage, and babies. Leo is ready to enjoy his empty nest as his youngest child leaves home. What will happen when these two people meet? I enjoyed the realistic scenario and that the characters are not completely in sync with one another. Completely realistic! Will the two be able to compromise in order to be together is a huge question? I was rooting for them and understood their struggle. I liked the characters and the setting of Australia, makes me want to start traveling. This is my first book from this author but I look forward to reading more from him in the future.

What happens when two romantics fall in love…only to find that they want two different things for their future? That’s what Kissing Scars is about.

Sanaya moves to Australia to further her career. There, she falls in love with a divorced man that is twenty years older than her. Leo has raised his children and is ready to follow his dream of travelling the world and writing stories for a magazine when his youngest child moves out. When the two begin to fall in love, they realize that Leo does not want any more children and Sanaya is ready to become a mother. Can these two find common ground? Or are their future plans too at odds to make it work?

This is a novella so it isn’t very long and I don’t want to give anything away. I was invested in this story from the first page. Not only was I invested emotionally, but the descriptions made me want to visit Melbourne! Each of the characters is lovable on their own, and together they are fantastic. I found my heart soaring and breaking right alongside them. A wonderful story that I thoroughly enjoyed!
