The animals are the main characters, and they are observing the human habitat. The characters are very well thought out. The story flows really easily and is easy to comprehend. The illustrations are very well done and colorful.

This book is a real page turner. Also, the era of where all the events take place are right on point since it takes place in 1665. The characters are very well done, each character is relatable in their own way based on their past experiences. This book shows you the difference between two extremes of being “a lady” and “a servant” in an established household. I do recommend reading this book, it’s not what I expected it to be in a good way.

The way the author incorporates the musical the characters are working on in the story and the murder mysteries work really well together. All of the characters are very personable and are very in sync with each other. Also there is enough drama in the story, between the characters and the mystery to keep the story going and not focus on only one aspect at a time but multiple aspects.
