Revenge Never Rests (Tallie Brown Suspense Book 2) by Laurie Lewis. I loved this book just like I loved the first one. I do recommend reading the first book before this one to better understand what is happening. Its the story of Tallie Brown who is strong and independent but when she sets out to help many people who have been kidnapped or drugged she realizes she may be in over her head. With Tallie realizing she could have had a whole different life if circumstances were different in her past is hard for her to swallow. Fast paced, full of action, crime, kidnapping and intrigue keeps you flipping pages late in the night. You will root for Tallie all through this book and the adventure it takes you on is fast paced and very interesting. Do yourself a favor and read the Tallie Brown Series today!

Revenge Never Rests is the second gripping book in the Tallie Brown Suspense series by Laurie Lewis. As this story follows on from book one, I highly recommend reading Secrets Never Die before starting on this instalment. This is a suspenseful story full of dramatic developments, intrigue, twists, action, adventure, mystery, secrets, lies, conspiracy, agendas, plots, emotion, family, friendship, tension, (clean) romance, and a quest for answers. As I have mentioned before, I look forward to reading everything Ms. Lewis produces, and this book was no exception. This story made it so hard to choose a favourite out of all her books, leaving me no choice but to add it to my favourites. Tallie Brown has her work cut out for her here, tracking down missing people- but with so many lies, secrets, and cover-ups- the danger mounts and stakes are raised as she embarks on her quest for answers. Another cleverly woven and suspenseful story, and I really enjoyed how Ms. Lewis kept the tension and intrigue at such a high level the whole way through- it made for quite a gripping read. I loved the characters- they are really well-developed individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. I loved seeing them continue to develop and grow over the course of the story/series…. and seeing how well Tallie’s circle support, and work together. Can’t wait to see what comes next! Happy Reading…

I loved reading this story. This is the second book in this series which I highly suggest reading the first book as it is just as great as the first. This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. Her books are well written and her writing skills bring each story to life. This book is no different. The characters pulled me in from the start. I found them to be connectable and had me coming back for more. The author’s use of details made me feel as if I was part of their world. This is a fast paced, engaging story that is hard to put down. A story you don’t want to miss, a must read. There is great growth throughout the story of the plot which made the story easy to read. I really enjoyed reading this book. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This book was a wild ride from the very beginning! One that captures your attention, makes your heart race, and palms sweat. I enjoyed the thrill of this book but also just the story line and how it built. Tallie was a great character and I enjoyed the dynamic she shared with those she shared camaraderie with. I really couldn’t put this book down! It was a refreshing twist that was unexpectedly amazing. Give it a read!

This book is the second book in the Tallie Brown series. I never read the first book before stumbling upon this book and I will say that it pretty much works as a standalone. I do highly recommend reading the first book first, only because there is a lot of backstory needed that made the first portion of the book hard for me to follow. However, once I got a grasp on the characters and their backstory, I found the book absolutely impossible to put down. As a character, I really liked Tallie. Her back story was hard to relate to at first, but she is such an interesting and complex character that I found it impossible not to root for her. I don’t want to give too much information because anything else will spoil it. Pay close attention when reading this because there are so many clues hidden throughout this book. It definitely hooked me and didn’t let me go until the next page. I can’t wait to continue reading more about these characters in upcoming books!

An entertaining read, which had me gripped from start to finish. In this page turner of a novel, Tallie Brown’s life never made sense, she was brought up in isolation by her mother, Julia. Who would take her from one third-world outpost to another, suddenly and without explanation. Life normalised for Tallie when her mother took a position on a mountaintop in the Pacific northwest. However, when Julia unexpectedly dies, Tallie soon discovers that her mother had a secret life. Meanwhile, Journalist Jackson James’s promising career ended, resulting in him working as the editor of a community rag in a posh D.C. suburb. When a lead about a potential scandal takes him to the dying Virginia coal town, Cutler’s Ridge, he meets a mysterious and beautiful woman, Tallie. Both Tallie and Jackson are loners and do not trust easily, but as their stories become intertwined they come to the conclusion that something terrible happened in Cutler’s Ridge. There are those in the town who want the past to stay hidden, and the couple are soon threatened putting them in danger. This was a fast paced story with great characters, an atmospheric small town setting, and a storyline full of drama and suspense. The likeable and relatable Tallie was a great main character, and I liked how her relationship with Jackson developed throughout the story. The descriptive narrative brought the setting vividly to life and made me feel immersed in the storyline. An enjoyable and engaging read, which I definitely recommend.

An enjoyable and entertaining novel, which had me hooked from start to finish. Having read book one and been introduced to the main character, Tallie Brown, I was looking forward to continuing her story, and I was not disappointed. This second novel picks up where the previous one ended, so I would recommend reading them in order. Tallie was raised by a paranoid woman on the run, and having spent her life hiding from the ghosts of her mothers past, she uses her unique skills to track down those who have simply vanished. When Tallie responds to an Amber Alert for a missing girl, it leads her to discover that General Cai Kaswell, her newly discovered father, and the world’s best hope for peace is amongst the vanished.
Tallie gets drawn into a conspiracy that links her past to the string of unsolved disappearances, and her search for answers sends her around the world. Having nearly lost her trusted friends, Tallie is assigned to a charming operative, but she doesn’t fully trust them, and has to watch her own back as she searches for General Kaswell. Tallie learns that she may be the unwitting catalyst for all the disappearances, resulting in both Tallie and her father being lured into a plot that will threaten the Constitution, and the balance of world power. This is a fast paced, page turner of a story, and I was kept gripped throughout. The storyline is full of drama and suspense and the plot twists keep it from becoming predictable. I love Tallie, she’s a likeable and realistic main character, who is easy to feel engaged with. A five star read and one which I definitely recommend.

I loved the first book in this series and equally fell in love with this the second book, Revenge Never Rests. I enjoy Laurie’s writing style and her compelling way of telling a story. Her first book Secrets Never Die where we were first introduced to Tallie was one of the best suspense stories I had read this year and this one is just the same. The interesting characters are well developed and believable and easy to like. Will Tallie be one of the hundreds who disappeared as she finds herself drawn into this conspiracy? This is an action-packed tale with drama, twists and turns that keep the suspense real. Add this to your TBR list and prepare to be wowed. No spoilers here. I really can’t say enough good things about this book except that you need to discover this gripping world that Laurie has created all by yourself.

This was such a thrill ride for me, so many dots to connect, as well as to figure out. The book takes off very quickly and often leaves you breathless. I was amazed and wowed as I read.
Continuation of the previous book, and this one does not leave you unsatisfied. This one really went above and beyond. Tallies’ story is far from over in this one. I loved her character development in this one as she figures out what happened to a loved one. This book gave a action thrill ride, great depth to everything and anything within this one. Amazing writing with the story development!
A book that really keeps you engaged. It was not short, of well anything. I was left wanting more! I loved it truly! I highly recommend this amazing book, as well as the must read author!

Oh man, book 2 of the Tallie Brown saga. Absolute heaven. It picks up where book 1 left off. I’m not going into it because it would be a spoiler. The story is well done. Our protagonists carry on and have to continue to work on their relationship as they work to solve the mystery of what happened to Tallie’s father. Who are the antagonists? Who did it? The characters are fantastic and developed so well. Again, you feel all the emotion as if you are in the story with them. The book feels like it may end there but I vote for the author to continue on with this and making it a series. I loved this and I would give the whole thing more than 5 stars if I were allowed to. Well done!!!! One of my absolute favorites of 2022.

Wow! I fell in love with this one. Life as Tallie knew it was all a deception. After the death of her mom, she set out to find out the truth. With the help of Jackson, they set out on a suspense trip that puts them in the hands of danger and mystery. Will they find the answers they look for? This author had me sitting on the edge of my seat holding my breath as I read. The suspense was palpitating. You can feel it as you’re reading. The characters are so well written and developed. You feel like you’re in the story with them. That plot, it flows smooth and the, BAM, plot twist, and back to smooth, repeat. Fantastic tale of intrigue, deception, suspense, lies. This is a must read. I would give it more than 5 stars if I were allowed. It’s that good!

This has got to be one of the sweetest books i’ve ever read. Reese and CC were an amazing set of characters with a completely magical romance. The setting was beautiful and oh so Christmassy. If you are a big fan of Hallmarks Countdown to Christmas this book is right up your alley. This book was so beautiful to read.

I tend to start and finish books like this quickly, but this story was so good and life got in the way so it was a slow read for me this week. Laurie Lewis did a fantastic job making characters that were so easy to fall in love with. We meet CC who has gone through a horrible breakup and is caught in the worst possible situation with no idea how to get out of it. Insert her knight in shining armor – equipped with cowboy boots and a rancher’s hat – and maybe there is a way her horrible situation can turn into a blessing in disguise. I loved the timid feel from both main characters and the love that was felt between Carlos and Emmie. It spoke volumes that there was so much to be uncovered and that it happened slowly. It felt like a true love story, rather than a rushed one. Reese had gone through a major loss in his life and had some demons that he needed to work through while CC was learning to face her own. The comparisons between the ranch and their lives were beautiful and heartwarming. This story was well thought out and well written. It made me want to read more from this author and learn what else is to come, not only for the main characters but for the families and the ranch itself. If you haven’t started your Christmas reads for the year, this is definitely a great one to start with!

Oh what a sweet romance! This story brought such joy to my heart. I absolutely love CC and Reese. In chapter 5 when Reese talks about the pond it reminded me so much of my husband and how he renewed my faith in love. This is one of the feel good reads you can’t help but enjoy! Its a great book to curl up with a chilly day with your favorite fuzzy blanket. Its even sweeter to read about hearts being repaired and trust being built! This truly is the perfect sweet romantic read! I did not want to put this book down!

Cowboys, Christmas and Charm A beautiful holiday romance that brings two lost souls together through circumstance. With heart felt moments and a wonderful setting this book had me hooked. This is the first book I’ve read by Lewis. I will definitely be on the lookout for more by Lewis. This story had me hooked from the beginning and I had a hard time putting it down.
CC is offered the job of the century. She thinks things are going great for her until she crashes. Not only does she crash her car, but she also crashes into a man’s life. The quote I chose for CC is: “Give me a list of what you’d be doing if you weren’t studying.”
Reese wasn’t expecting company and not the way he got it. Christmas isn’t The man’s favorite holiday, but when he lets CC stay things change. The quote I chose for Reese is: “Hold on a minute. I’ll have to dig you out a bit.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.
Cross-Country Christmas (A Silver Buckle Brides Romance) by Laurie Lewis was a very interesting Christmas book to read. While I personally love a good Christmas book, this is one that I found myself thinking I could really read anytime if year, it was just that good. Ms. Lewis gives us fantastic but complex characters, lots of emotion, an amazing plot, and so much more that you’ll feel like your on a wild and bumpy ride. Filled with hurting and healing hearts, the celebration of Christmas, romance, and family this book will have you flipping the pages to see what happens next. This wonderful book opens with our main character the beautiful CC not knowing where she is or how she got there, will she be happy with her savior or will her secrets keep her from being happy? Will CC be saved by the handsome Reese? Will she be able to reveal her secrets and uncover his? You’ll have to read Cross-Country Christmas (A Silver Buckle Brides Romance) by Laurie Lewis to find out for yourself.

This story written by Laurie Lewis was a breath of fresh air after a long stressful week. I absolutely loved Cross-Country Christmas! Beautifully written and wonderful characters to boot. It all started with an accident that brought 2 lost and broken souls together! CC contracted to drive a brand new Tesla from Chicago to Las Vegas received some devastating news, which caused her to make a bad decision, landing the car crash and being buried under a snow drift. Reese received a call from a neighbor saying there was an issue with his fence. An issue that would forever change his life. With the trials and tribulations of the holiday season, plus the accident looming over her head, CC and Reese spend this story navigating life and being around one another. Will this adventure heal them both? Will it break them further? Will CC have to pay for the ill advised decision she made? Everything gets answered throughout this story, not without tears(which I myself shed at points) and heartbreak. This is such a sweet Christmas Romance to indulge in by a fire cozied up with a mug of hot chocolate! I dare you to do just that, because that’s the exact homely feeling this book represents!

There is great chemistry between CC and Reese. This was a good mix of romance with life lessons along the way. It gave a good picture of why it is important to not let the past hold you back from moving towards your future. I liked the part that Emmie and Carlos played in the story and the setting was a bonus for the story. This was a cozy Christmas read for sure. I would definitely read more by this author.

Cross Country Christmas by Laurie Lewis is such a heartwarming story that pulls you in and holds you captive. It is such a well written story that I couldn’t help but love. Reeve and CC were great characters. They fit so well together and had a really strong connection. I have really enjoyed all the books that I have read by this author and this one is no exception. It had the right amount of holiday spirit and romance to make it an interesting but easy read. This book is definitely worth reading.

Book Review: Cross-Country Chrismas Author: Laurie Lewis Five Stars Sweet Christian, cowboy romance. The magic and charm begin from the very start. This book was hard for me to put down. I managed to read it fairly quickly even though I have had a bunch of personal life stuff take me away from reading for a little while. The story between CC and Reese is built on trust and almost destroyed because of broken trust. But more importantly they find they have to get back to their “true selves” before they can work on them as a couple. The family relationships and their spiritual relationships are wonderful fillers in this story. The way Reese and CC connect spiritually in chapter 14 was really sweet and meaningful. I am assuming that since Reese is the oldest of eight brothers that the Silver-Buckle Brides Romance may continue with the other Brockbank brothers. klh

Cross Country Christmas is a sweet, clean romance from Laurie Lewis. This was the second time that I had read any of this author’s work and I have enjoyed both books so far, I would definitely read more in the future. The author does a great job of pulling you into the story with a dramatic first chapter that grabs your attention and makes you want to read more. I really enjoyed reading Reese and CC’s story. The story is quite angsty (is that a real word?) as both struggle to keep their budding relationship/ attraction chaste and not progress to quickly. It was actually nice for a change for the two main characters not to jump into bed with each other straight away. I really enjoyed reading their progression from strangers to friends to realising their feelings for one another. As well as Cc and Reese I loved the main secondary characters of Emmie and Carlos. They both add so much to the story and I really enjoyed reading about their relationship too. Cross Country Christmas is a really great, heartwarming romance that is just ideal for cosying up on the couch with a hot drink to lose yourself in.

What a great Christmas Book. CC Resse. This is an amazing book by Lauire Lewis. Can two people do broken love each other can they trust each other. Resse is a man I really connected to. CC I enjoyed her character and the interaction between these two people. I love CC bubbly personality and her way to cheers up. Cross Country Christmas really takes in the sport of Christmas with healing, love, warmth, forgiveness. Furthermore its witty humor, real life situations made me totally invested in the story.

This was a wonderful Christmas romance which had me hooked from page one. CC Cippolini takes a temp job to drive a custom car, a Tesla, across the country but following a crash into a cattle fence finds her plans changing, just over Christmas. CC finds herself at the home of the owner of the now broken cattle fence, rancher Reese Brockbank. Reese is happy for CC to stay with him but he’s determined to keep his distance and not let another women upset his life. However, when CC begins to decorate his sterile house for Christmas and turns it into a real home with her warmth and joy, Reese finds his defences are being worn down. But, CC’s story doesn’t quite add up and as Reese questions her, CC puts up her own defences. Both of them are still harbouring pain from their pasts but will they take a chance at love with each other. I loved CC and Reese as they are likeable and relatable characters who just have instant chemistry. The descriptive narrative brought both the characters and the setting to life and I felt engaged with the story. The storyline had me happily turning the pages and the plot twists and turns kept me gripped until the end. I was taken on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading this festive novel, and I was cheering the couple on hoping they would get their HEA.
