“Sometimes I wonder how I lived most of my life without really knowing that the paranormal world exists right along side the human one. Even though things appear normal for this tiny town, I can’t help but wonder how many paranormal things have gone on here, unnoticed. How many times have I come close to the world of magic and monsters and not known it?” (Oren)

Hell In A Handbasket is the third exciting instalment in the Life is Hell series by Naomi Valkyrie. I adore this series so much!!! From the moment I read the blurb on the first book, I was hooked- and I can honestly say that this series only gets better with each new instalment.
This is a captivating fantasy with demons, banter, drama, mystery, sizzling chemistry, danger, discovery, more than a few surprises, and twists- as well as a heartwarming m/m romance.
A seemingly picture perfect little town. Such a beautiful setting that hides a whole lot of paranormal beings and a lot of supernatural activity which goes on there- and the ordinary folk aren’t even aware of what’s happening right under their noses. But as we have come to learn in the previous books, there is so much more to Juniper Lake than first meets the eye.
This is Oren and Teivel’s story, whom we met in the previous books as secondary characters. Oren has intrigued me right from the beginning, with the discovery of his Hunter heritage. But not having any training or any other Hunters he can call on for guidance or advice, leaves Oren feeling a little vulnerable. He really is still coming to terms with being a Hunter and what that means for him going forward. Trying to figure it out on his own is draining. Add a sexy demon to the mix and things really heat up. But he’s a Hunter and Teivel’s a demon- and a bit of a prickly one at that, so they shouldn’t work- but their chemistry says otherwise. Then bring a little surprise package into the mix- and this story really takes off!!! I really couldn’t read this story quick enough, flipping the pages to discover what happens next- and all the while dreading racing through the story, as I really didn’t want it to end.
As I have mentioned a few times now, but it is worth repeating- Naomi Valkyrie is a talented storyteller- weaving such wonderfully original and completely captivating fantasies. Her work is always very creative, rich and dynamic- with plenty of texture and imaginative touches which enable her story and characters to come to life- pulling me into their world and whisking me along for the ride.
I really can’t wait to read book #4 and see where we go from here!

Thank you, Naomi Valkyrie!

Hell In A Handbasket (Life is Hell #3)Hell In A Handbasket by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have loved every book that I have read by this author which is all of them. This one is one of my favorites by her yet. This is the third book in this series which can be read as a standalone but I highly suggest reading all of this series. This is a well written story that pulled me in right from the beginning. The author’s attention to detail made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. I love seeing characters from previous books in this one also. This is a story about a demon tracker and a demon. The tracker is no stranger to heartbreak and neither is going to Juniper Lake. Her first trip was supposed to be a one time thing but when it calls out to her she just has to go back. What happens after she gets there is for you to find out and read this book. I love the characters in this story and what they bring to the plot. I highly recommend this book.

This series is so good. This book follows Oren, a demon hunter, and Teivel, a demon. If you can, read the first two books! It gives you information about some of the characters throughout the book! If you love twists, danger, laughing so hard you cry, a baby dragon, and romance. Then this is most definitely the book for you!

5 +++++ Stars

YES!! My favorite so far of the series… WOW this one had me glued to my kindle, it gave me everything and then some that I would ever want in this series. I seriously don’t even know where to begin writing this review. This author writes with so much care in all of her details, and the words just flow beautifully!

First of all, I’m pretty sure that one of the reasons I loved this so much is because I have read the first two and have gotten to know these characters, I mean they feel like friends now LOL I just can not recommend reading these as stand alones, the building of these characters and the storylines make this a must read in order series in my opinion to get the full effect of everything. This author has bonded this group together so well and even though most shouldn’t even be in the same room they have literally become a family and when they are all together it makes for some of the best parts of these books.

Larkspur has to be one of my favorite characters of all time, I want him!! His part in these books and the way the author writes his character has me feeling like he is real. Don’t know how else to explain it. I can’t wait for more on the future of Drakelynn, I have a feeling I’m going to love him just as much. I am trying so hard to stay away from any of the storyline because the first 2 really need to be read.

I will say there was a twist in this story that blind sided me, I thought I had it all figured out early on and was so wrong and I loved that! The danger scenes had me on the edge of my seat and the times I laughed out loud were genuine. I love everyone of these characters and what each one brings to the table and I can not wait for what is next. I have hopes that it will include a newer character that joined the gang during this book but I trust no matter what way she takes this I will love it. I seriously don’t want this series to end!

One Click these, this is an amazing series!!

Hell Hath No Fury (Life is Hell #2)Hell Hath No Fury by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I give Hell Hath No Fury (Life Is Hell Book 2) by Naomi Valkyrie, 5 stars.

This is the second book in the series and what an incredible book it is! Characters we met in book one take the center stage and do such an amazing job of pulling us in. I wanted to know more about Sheridan as soon as I first met her and I am so happy that this book is about her. We learn so much more about her and find out how wonderful and unique she really is. Her interest in Millicent is unique and refreshing. While different relationships are more acceptable in supernatural books, it is so refreshing that this series is up front about them. These two women are obviously interested in each other. At the same time, the author is not preaching or trying to convert us. It is just another relationship. That makes this good book even better.

But let us not forget the story itself. Full of all emotions, you will be on the edge of your seat the whole time. It kept me guessing until the very end. The suspense is really here in the book, it’s not just about the feelings the two main characters have for each other. I really like this in books — many things happening at once.

If you are a fan of urban fantasy/supernatural romance with exceptional characters and a vivid, imaginative story, this series and book are for you. It can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend the whole series.

By Naomi Valkyrie

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. This author never disappoints! As soon as I started reading this story I couldn’t put it down. This book has danger, suspense, humor, romance, magic, wonderful characters and so much more. I loved the characters of Millicent and Sheridan, their characters grew and learned some things about themselves and each other by the end of this story. There are also other really great characters in this book that you won’t want to miss out on. You can read this book without having read the first one but it is my suggestion that you read them in order. The author drew me right into the story so I felt like I’m right there. I highly recommend this book.

Hell Hath No Fury (Life is Hell #2)Hell Hath No Fury by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hell Hath No Fury is the 2nd book in the Life is Hell series by Naomi Valkyrie. It should be read after No Rest for the Wicked, as this book continues where the previous left off. The story has many characters, all intertwined, but ultimately it focuses on Sheridan and Millicent. I don’t normally read paranormal books, but I really enjoy this series. The characters are likeable and of varying species (is that the right word…) of paranormal. Their relationships are different, but it all seems to work. While it does have relationships, it doesn’t reach the R rated scenes. I wasn’t fully invested in them, but more because it isn’t just your normal man and woman. Its demon, witch, dhampir, etc. But its a good balance with action, that keeps us guessing what might happen next. The writing is very descriptive, so despite me not typically reading this genre, I can envision it all unfolding. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

Hell Hath No Fury by Naomi Valkyrie is the second book in the Life is Hell series and was a great read! This was a great sequel to the first book. I feel like this could be a standalone, but it also does help to read the first. But it doesn’t focus much on Delilah and Malakhi, it focuses mostly on Millicent and Sheridan. It was a very quick and enthralling read. I personally thought the first book was funnier in my opinion, but this one was great as well. I can’t wait to read the next installment in this series!

Hell Hath No Fury by Naomi Valkyrie is the second book in the Life Is Hell series. I am really glad to get my hands on this second book in this new series. Again this is a quick read but not lacking in any way in a story or character development. I really enjoy the paranormal elements of the story and the different relationships. I also am glad that the sexual elements are not overdone. The relationships are fun and varied. I look forward to seeing how the other books in the series pan out and develop the different characters. I really enjoy this author and books and look forward to more in the future. My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Millicent is a Deputy Sheriff in Juniper lake and she is about to find out some information which is going to make her head spin. Sheridan is a hedonism demon and has decided to stick around in Juniper lake with her friend Delilah, but she has had her head turned by a certain Deputy Sheriff and can’t get her out of her mind, despite efforts to the contrary.

Millicent has been wondering why things seem different in the town, it isn’t the two dead bodies and a missing person, the FEDs were called in to deal with that one, but still something is off, the other Deputy and Sheriff have been avoiding the station and asked Millicent to pull doubles, but she isn’t happy and knows that there is something they aren’t telling her. She finally has a day off and all she wants to do is sleep and eat, but when she hears someone whispering her name when nobody is there, she gets a weird feeling which she can’t shake, so she gets a shower, gets dressed, feeds and waters her cat and heads to the station anyway, she doesn’t feel safe at home anymore. She is prepared for a scolding when she gets there, but she is not prepared for what she is told, she is not prepared for the supernatural and finding out what happened to the cold cases she is looking over again. Once Millicent is told about what really happened, she refuses to believe it and storms out of the station, but when she gets home, things start to get weird again, when a gift turns up in her car and pretty soon after disappears again, then the same thing happens when she sees a face in front of her and finally her cat careers into the open door of the car and starts yowling at the top of her lungs.

After a sleepless night filled with dreams of corpses and demons, Millicent prepares coffee and something to eat, meanwhile her cat is hissing at an envelope which has just appeared out of nowhere, there is no address or stamp on it, just her name and one line of writing inside, but it is so vague she has no idea what it means, then as soon as it appeared, it disappears and her cat flies out of the cat door and feeling that there is nothing else she can do, Millicent heads to the station to start work for the day. At lunch time, she heads to the general store for groceries and takes it straight home to put away, she notices some fuschia roses on the porch with another vague note, as she goes to pick it up, the roses die and disappear, again there is no clue who sent them, so when she gets back to the station and sees a tray of cookies, she starts to panic until she finds out that they are from Sheridan, a friend of Delilah’s who she has a crush on and has had since she first met her.

When the next disappearing gift arrives, but when she tries to get rid of it, it just keeps on coming back and the creepy thing is that it looks like her, so finally she gives in and talks to DDelilah and Sheridan, but when things escalate, the rest of the others are brought in to help. Will they be able to find out who is stalking Millicent before it is too late and will Sheridan be able to protect her as much as she wants to or will Millicent be lost to the supernatural world before she can understand it? The only way is to follow along the adventure with them.

No Rest for the Wicked (Life is Hell #1)No Rest for the Wicked by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Delilah is a demon, a demon who deals in lust and vengeance, but she is also burnt out and needs a break, so as she leaves the site of her last kill and while smoking a cigarette, she decides that she is going to leave the bar in the capable hands of a fellow demon and best friend and drive to the first quiet place she spots, a break is just what she needs, she’ll rent somewhere and not murder anyone, not be in a city and just be able to relax. After three days of driving, she enters Juniper Lake, it is a small town and looks to be the perfect place, as she goes to get some gas, she finds that there is a cabin that she might be able to rent, so after filling up, she goes to the General Store and asks to speak to the realtor, who agrees to rent it to her, so Delilah picks up some groceries and then heads to the cabin, all while thinking that she probably hasn’t laid as low as she expected, given that the town is so small, she will already be the latest gossip.

On arrival at the cabin, it is cosy and just the right size for her, so Delilah unpacks the groceries and goes to light a cigarette and realising that she will have to smoke outside, which isn’t much of a hardship when she sees the view of the lake and dockside out back. She decides to curl up with a book and as she is about to fall asleep she feels the tug of a summoning spell, she manages to ignore it, but is annoyed that even on vacation, she can’t rest. The next morning, Delilah realises that she forgot to get milk and as she can only eat so much dry cereal for breakfast, she decides to go into town, but on the way there senses the magic of the circle and decides to go and investigate it, not noticing a specific demon’s energy, she prepares to remove the circle when the town’s Sheriff surprises her, he asks her what she is doing there and as she gives her reasons, realises that it isn’t what humans would normally do and that the Sheriff isn’t buying any of it, so she leaves the circle and heads back to the car, thinking about the eye candy she has just met and hoping that she doesn’t run into him or another summoning spell again.

Malakhi watches Delilah leave and wonders what she is hiding, followed by photographing and destroying the circle and wondering who cast it and why, so he heads back to the station and continues to go through the motions of his day to day work, but cannot get Delilah or the circle out of his head. He decides to do some research into the town’s background to see if he can spot something suspicious, but most of the records aren’t electronic yet. It is three nights later and three more summoning spells later that Delilah gives in and goes to give the summoner a piece of her mind, but when she gets there it turns out that there are three girls at the site and she is less than impressed that they bind her to them so that she has to do their bidding. She is trying to figure out whose bloodline around there has enough power to bind her and also thinking that she has made a mistake coming to this sleepy town in the first place, when the witches dismiss her, she is still mad, so she has a smoke and when she has calmed down, she decides to do some research on the town and see if she can figure out their plan.

Malakhi goes to work, but is tired after spending most of his free time looking through the old files from the courthouse, but after he has made an appearance at the station so as not to arouse suspicions he heads back there and runs into Delilah, he wonders what she is doing there and is forced to engage in more awkward conversation with her. Eventually he leaves and Delilah starts reading the towns donated journals under the guise of writing a book about them, when after several hours, she returns the finished books to the shelves she finds one last one, but this one is different, she feels the residual magic and decides to glamour it take it to the diner to read while she has something to eat, what she doesn’t expect is the Sheriff to join her and ask why she took it, she responds as her usual sarcastic self and proceeds to pay the bill and leave. As she is summoned again, she is told the reason that she has been summoned and bound, the witches want her to kill someone, but she doesn’t want to commit murder on vacation, but it looks like she hasn’t got a choice, but when her best friend turns up a couple of days later and she is still bound and not being released any time soon, she realises that she has to do something about it, but will she be able to stay hidden in plain sight, or will the Sheriff realise what she is and what she has been doing? This is a magic filled adventure with a drizzle of romance and plenty of action, but you have to read to the end to find out how the adventure ends.

This is the 2nd book in the Life Is Hell series and I loved it just as much as the first. I would recommend reading the first book because then you get an understanding of the characters in this book.

Millicent  is a deputy. She loves her job and has no idea about the paranormal world around her. That is until strange things start happening to her. Not sure where to turn she goes to her friends for help and advice.

Her friends Sheridan and Delilah are convinced the happenings are paranormal and they all set out to figure out who Millicent’s stalker is.

Add to this mystery the growing attraction between Sheridan and Millicent and its a book full of action.

Can they find out who Millicent’s stalker is? Are they after Millicent or are they using her to get to Sheridan? Can this stalker be stopped before someone gets hurt.

Let me start off by saying that I love this series. Delilah and Sheridan are demons and when Delilah decided to move to Juniper Lake, Sheridan followed. Being a hedonism demon, Juniper Lake doesn’t have much to offer Sheridan but a certain officer has caught her eye. Since they moved there, the supernatural world has leaked into Juniper Lake. Sheridan is worried that she is the reason Millicent is being targeted. Can she protect her or will Sheridan be the cause of her death?

I really liked Sheridan in the first book, she’s a little nuts. I was happy to realize that this book centred around her. The story will pull you in with its mystery and intrigue. The characters are well rounded and likeable. I have followed this author since her first book and watched her writing get progressively better. I can’t wait to see what she has for me next!

Most of the awesome characters from the first book are back in this one, and I’m really impressed that the the characters continue to grow and become more of a team in this book. This book concentrated on Sheridan (a demon) and Millicent (a town deputy). Millicent’s is being stalked by a creature unknown to the group. As always, her narrative is on point and her characters are delightful. It’s an original storyline that is a good strong story. This is number two in the series and I loved the first and am so happy we get more Sheridan in our lives, we all need a little Sheridan especially at the moment, she may be a demon, but that’s not all she is. There is a great story in this one and some fantastic passion and excitement. The pacing is fast, but well done and once you start it you will not want it to end. Hell Hath No Fury (Life Is Hell Book 2) by Naomi Valkyrie. This is the 2nd book in this fun series. It can be read as a standalone but I always like to read the books in order to not miss a detail. This picks back up in Juniper Lake and its about Millicent and Sheridan. The only problem being is Sheridan is a hedonistic demon Millicent is human so Sheridan is trying not to let her attraction get to her. When Millicent becomes in danger Sheridan thinks its because of her so she feels like she has to do anything she can to protect her. Sheridan figures this is just her luck that once she finds someone she wants to give her heart to she is going to screw it up by getting Millicent killed or hurt. This book is so fast paced so be sure and buckle up cause it will take you for a great ride!

Hell, Hath No Fury (Life is Hell #2) by Naomi Valkyrie

5 out of 5 stars

This is the second book in Life is Hell series written by Naomi Valkyrie and I enjoyed it… The book was a little slow at first not as fast paced as the first book in this series. I really enjoyed the characters and the way they played off each other and their little quirks.

We met Sheridan and Millicent in the first book of this series and there was an instant attraction but Sheridan fought her attraction to Millicent because Millicent does not know about paranormal stuff and with Sheridan being hedonism demon and all.

Now Millicent is in danger and Sheridan thinks its because of her. Sheridan instincts is to protect her – but she might also be the reason Millicent is in danger. It figures she finally find someone to give her heart to, but chances are she will just end up breaking hers – or get her killed….

Who is after Millicent? Is it really because of Sheridan or something else? Can Sheridan save Millicent? Will they have a happily ever after or will someone die?

Great read cannot wait until next book in series….

5 stars!

Ah, I am in love with this series. This is the second book in the series, and I would highly suggest reading the books in order to get introductions to the characters and background on what is going on. I loved Delilah and Malakhi’s story but, I think I found a new love in Sheridan and Millicent. I wasn’t sure where this story was going to go, and when it is Millicent that is in trouble, I enjoyed watching Sheridan realize her feelings for her, and they weren’t just that of a one time fling. Meeting Sheridan’s mom and dad and seeing how they played a role was exciting, her dad seems like a good solid man so far, willing to help is daughter and her new found love. Her mom on the other hand, not so much. The twist with Miliicent, I did not see coming and it will be exciting to see how that changes her in the future. After this book, I really can’t wait to read Teivel & Oren’s story!

As usual this author hits it out of the park once again. I love this continuing story and these characters. This one focuses on one of my favorites from the first book, Sheridan and then Millicent who is one of the deputies in Juniper Lake. Im so very thankful that these books are very clean and any type of sex is just implied. The reason I say this is I don’t normally read MM or FF books. I just can’t relate to them and those types of relationships. Nothing wrong with them, it’s just harder for me to feel those connections. This series though is so completely awesome in its storylines and the smooth reading, and I never seem to want them to end. I love when all of the characters are together and their interactions are so much fun. I actually feel like I transport into these books and feel like part of the story.

I was still left with a few questions I had from the first book. There’s a history between Malakhi and Teivel and it feels like something I really want to know more about. I’m praying the next book is about Teivel and a possible connection that was beginning to form in this one.

I don’t normally read any sort of fantasy or paranormal but I’m a forever fan of this author and will read anything she writes. The addition of some of the types of characters in this story was fun. I fell in love with Jasper, Sam, and Larkspur and really hope we get a lot more of them in the next part.

You really in my opinion need to read these in order. I imagine a person would be left with a lot of question marks if you start with this one. Read them both, they are amazing and a lot of fun!

I can not wait for Book 3!
