Edge Of The Storm (Silent Secrets Series Book 2) by Lisette Kristensen
5-stars
Edge Of The Storm is the second installment in those series and cannot be read as a standalone. There is a lot of back story in the first novel that leads up to the action in this novel. Sloan aka Blackbird must rescue her mentor Halo who has been taken. Halo is being used as a bomb and Blackbird and her team must diffuse the situation and disable the bomb. This short novel has a ton of action and is easy to read. I loved the characters and but of romance that occurs. I look forward to more in this series .

5 Star Edge of the Storm (Silent Secrets Book 2) by Lisette Kristensen
Edge of the Storm is the second Book in the Silent Secrets Series by Lisette Kristensen and is a wonderfully written Book that once I started reading I couldn’t put it down till the end. I was hooked and at times on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happens next. I literally couldn’t read fast enough I had to know what was going to happen next. This book is packed with lots of adventure and action. Sloane ( Blackbird) is a strong and smart woman. What happens when a very routine mission goes wrong? What will happen when she realizes her partner Halo is missing? Will she find Halo ? Holy Cow this is a must read book,if you haven’t already read the first Book in this series I highly recommend reading it as well. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in this series. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

This is the first book I have read by Lisette Kristensen but it will not be my last. The action and adventure that follows Halo really is what makes this book. I wasn’t completely sold on the character at first but as I became more and more involved in the high stakes terrorist fight that unfolds I was quickly swallowed in whole. I would be interested in seeing what else there is to find out about the characters in the first book this time around however. Combined with reading out of order and the short brief and rushed feeling I got with the size of the novel is my only reason really for marking it four instead of five stars. I am definitely looking forward to book three as well.

This was a fantastic action packed story, one that I really enjoyed. I found myself hooked into this book from the very first page. I will say that I wasn’t 100% sure about reading this book but I am so glad that I gave it a go. The author did a great job and I felt like I was right there along with the characters. For a short story it is certainly full of action from the very start. I would absolutely love to read more about these characters. I loved that the main characters were women, I admired their strength, courage and the fact that they wouldn’t give up until they got what they wanted. I am really excited to read more from this series in the future!

This is the second story in the series. It is a short story in pages but not in thrills for sure. I will freely admit that this is not my go to genre to read but it was definitely entertaining. I feel that the problem with stories this short is that you can’t really get to know the characters so you don’t form a bond but since this has some recurring people in it, I was able to build on what I already knew of this crazy daring woman. If you have some time to waste and want a nonstop action short story, then this is definitely for you.

This action packed novella about Halo and Blackbird will grab your attention immediately. It moves quickly and is full of vivid detail. This is my first book from this author and I enjoyed it. The limited writing space does not hinder the character development or plot pace. Very enjoyable read. I look forward to reading more in this series.

Edge of the Storm by Lisette Kristensen is the second book in the Silent Secrets series. This is a short story that packs a punch. I really am enjoying seeing the transformation and growth of the character Blackbird. Also, despite the short length, there is a lot of story told. Characters are interesting and developed and the story is action-packed. I also enjoyed the story and the angle of the target being Vatican treasures. I look forward to more in this series.

Edge of the Storm: Book 2 (Silent Secrets) By Lisette Kristensen Rated 5 stars
This is the second book in this series and all I can say is Wow! So fast paced and full of action! I really enjoyed this one! We get to see the first mission of Blackbird. It and the story completely enthralled me. The characters are smart, fit and have zero tolerance for fun. It’s all business all the time…well except that one brief moment. I feel these stories get better and better with each one I read. In a side note I have to say…400 pushups? Dayum! That is impressive! I can only imagine the shape she is in. Well done to the author and I look forward to reading more about this character.

Edge of the Storm (Silent Secrets Book 2) By: Lisette Kristensen 5 out of 5 stars
The story Edge of the Storm (Silent Secrets Book 2) by Lisette Kristensen is a thrilling book that will have you turning pages to find out what happens next. It is the next story in a series that had me on the edge of my seat unable to put the book down until I had read the final page. I enjoyed reading about the character of Blackbird. She is an intelligent and strong woman. When a routine contact mission goes wrong, she begins a search to find her partner Halo who has been taken. Will she find Halo? When it is realized that there is a threat to one of the Vatican’s most cherished treasures will she be able to stop those who are involved? Read this book to find out. Blackbird is a character that at times shows anger, fear, and frustration. She also has a fierce determination. I have read the first two books in the series and I can’t wait to read the next one. Highly recommended.

Edge of the Storm: Book 2 (Silent Secrets) by Lisette Kristensen is an action packed thriller that is a very short and quick but the plot is fast paced and full of action that will keep you on the edge of your seat right up to the very last page. Lisette left it open for the story to continue and I hope it does. These agents are trained to be deadly and it’s that, that will keep the terrorists at bay but when one of their own is taken can the team reach her in time before a major disaster happens? Will they be able to stop evil and save their agent?
I recommend you grab this book as it will get your heart pumping.

“The sad thing about betrayal, it never comes from the enemy.”
Francesca, or “Sonic” has been training for the time when she will have be in the field as a Katsa for the Mossad. After escaping her past and being given a chance by May, or “Jet”. It is now on her shoulders to figure out how to put the skills to the test. Much sooner than she was expecting she is thrust into a situation where she is the one that needs to save Jet this time.
“Jet was the best Mossad had in the field. But her gaze made her feel like I missed something. She never relaxed around Jet, it felt like she was being tested constantly.”
“That is all Francesca needed to hear “head out”. To be a spy, find the bad men and do some good.”
Will Sonic be able to save Jet before she becomes the next victim of Jihadists? Or will her life, and thousands of others, be ended before she even gets a chance to try?
“No guarantees, follow orders and mission first.”
“The only visions filling her mind was the slow-motion replay of Jet getting ambushed.”
I found this novella to be almost too short. It made me feel like I was missing a lot of back story, or like I was missing something in general. I felt like if it was just a bit less rushed and had some more background info on Francesca and Jet, I would have been able to focus on the book more than I could. This is the only reason I marked this as a four-star read. Otherwise, the story had a great concept, and action-packed drama. This is the first book I have read by J.E. Vassar and will definitely be looking into more of her work, the longer ones anyway.

Edge of the Storm was a great 5 star read and book two in the Silent Secrets series by Lisette Kristensen.
She hit like a hammer, and was deadly like a rifle.
I love Blackbird (Sloane), she is an extremely strong character and knows how to take care of things. We continue with her story and as she finishes her training she is paired up with Halo.
We get a little glimpse at Adam, who Sloane has developed a little crush on during her training. But fraternization is forbidden.
Blackbird and Halo end up in Rome, when something goes wrong and Halo goes missing Blackbird is part of the search team. We get a lot of non stop action and edge of your seat moments. Can Blackbird and her team find Halo before it’s too late? Can they stop the terrorists plans?
The sad thing about betrayal, it never comes from the enemy.
Overall this was a thrilling read. This cannot be read as a stand alone or you will be completely lost. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. Once I got started I couldn’t stop until I was done, and I’m impatiently waiting for the next book in the series. Thank you Lisette for another great read.

For the most part I really enjoyed Sloane’s journey into becoming Blackbird. I’m a little tired out on the destroying something at the Vatican story line but there isn’t really much else that old and precious to as many people so I get the intrigue. I’ve always liked more detail in training aspects of spies, secret agents, mercenaries, ect. so I would have enjoyed a little more of how she and Halo get to a point in their lives and careers that they are able to get back up form everything they endure. That being said, this book as well as the previous novel and novella are non stop and will have you tearing through to get to the next page. Can’t wait for the 3rd book

5 Stars
WOW!! This was written really really well. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see what was going to happen.
Sloane (Blackbird) was an awesome character, You MUST read the first in this series to completely understand what is going on and how Sloane got where she is in this story. The action in this book was non stop. I followed it easily and although it was hard reading about terrorists with our world being the way it is right now, it was totally awesome watching the other side go after them. I was not completely sure about Halo at some points in this story but I ended up loving her as much as I did our Blackbird.
I absolutely must have the next in this series ASAP! Blackbird and Halo are AWESOME and I’m also very very curious whether there is any more to come for Blackbird and Adam.
Very quick read, full of content and very easy to follow. Will have book 3 as quick as I can get a hold of it and would love to read more from this author.

I enjoyed my first book by this author. Her writing skills are creative and has the ability to make the situations feel real. The characters will take you on a few twists and turns that will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat. They are full of feistiness. This is about a terrorist threat made to Rome. Halo has come to Rome to mentor a new agent. When meeting with an informant Halo is taken prisoner. Her partner Blackbird is set on getting her back. I highly suggest this book.

Edge of the Storm by Lisette Kristensen is the second book in the Silent Secreta series. This book is fast paced, intriguing and will have you hooked until the very end. This is an author I have recently become familiar with and so far I have loved every book. This was definitely has to be my favourite though. The whole story had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen. It was full of twists and turns that meant you never quite knew what the outcome was going to be. I enjoyed Halo’s character. She was strong and commanding on a way that added to the story. I fell in love with the cover of this book. It is eye grabbing and makes me want to read the book. My only gripe, and it is a small one, is that I wish the book were a little longer. It felt like I had finished it all too quickly. This is a great story and one I would definitely recommend.

The first of the Silent Secrets series is Blinded by Betrayal where the daughter of a mafia boss has her privileged life ripped away from her. Sloane’s husband, Jimmy, is picked up by the cops and immediately starts talking. I kind of get that line of thinking but if I were involved in any sort of criminal activity, I would never speak to the cops. Jimmy holds no real love for anyone but himself so he doesn’t care who his words put in jeopardy. Sloane’s father and everyone else now see both of them as traitors. She can take pretty good care of herself but with powerful people now after her, Sloane must turn to a childhood friend. Spin Drift is a great sequel novella that left me with a few more questions than I had at the end of Blinded by Betrayal but it did get me more excited for the next book in the series.

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift (Silent Secrets #1) Lisette Kristensen was a quick, okay read that kept me reading.
This short read was fast, steamy, actiony, and a little jumpy. The plot for me was a little hard to follow, as I found it didn’t match the synopsis. What I thought I was going to read about, didn’t happen. At first yes, it followed what I was expecting, then things are really smutty, sexy, and I don’t really know why. What I really want to know is what happen with what I thought was the male MC, he just, vanished, and I just, again don’t know. This wasn’t a bad read by all means, it was just for me, not coherent, or smooth. I don’t really know if I like the MC, there wasn’t enough character development, nor was there proper plot development.
Overall if you’re looking for something quick, with a mix of smut, action and espionage, then give this book a chance. As I said, though I felt disjointed with this book, I did like it, and I did have fun reading it. It’s well written, and the dark tone is consistent and hooking. So please take my recommendation and stamp of approval, that you will have fun reading this mixed read.

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift by Lisette Kristensen is the first book in the Silent Secrets series. This is a fast paced book that will keep you utterly fixated right to the last page. As a new author to me I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this book. And o have to be honest, I wasn’t particularly drawn in by the cover or the description. However I decided to give it a go anyway – they do say never judge a book by its cover and this is the perfect example of why. From page one I was hooked. This was fast paced and intense all the way through. I loved the characters. They were so well done. The author created them to compliment the story perfectly. This was a thrilling adventure and one I would highly recommend.

There is great potential in this story. The characters are recognizable but yet they stand out with just the right amount of a twist to make them different from what you may have read before. The plot is great, even if it gets a little crazy for a while. I think that it would be an amazing story if it was just simpler. This book definitely helped me escape my own reality for a little while and I really enjoyed it. I would recommend reading this book without forming any preconceived notions based on your reading history so that you can enjoy this one of a kind thrill ride.

There was never a dull moment in this book and storyline and well written characters are what held me to the very end. Sloane, mafia princess, has her life turned upside down when her husband is caught by cops and starts talking. Him doing this also now has not just put a target on her father’s back but hers as well. She reached out to her friend from her school days but so unsure she can even trust him. Sloane’s journey makes her open her eyes to a new journey to self-discovery. Bravo to this author and writing an amazing book and I cannot wait to read more in this series. I give this book four stars!!!

Blinded by Betrayal follows what happens to Sloane after her husband rolls over on her mafia family. In the mafia, spouses are responsible for each other’s actions. When rolls over they both must die. With a contract on her head, Sloane has to think fast and act faster. Running to an old friend of hers for help, leads Sloane to a life she could never have imagined. I love a good mafia book and I love a strong female lead even more, so this book was right up my alley. I really enjoyed this book. I would have liked to have read more on Sloane’s training and I could have done without the introduction to the Chateau. I ended up skipping through most of that. It just didn’t go with the story to me once I finished the book. BUT, I still loved the story and I can’t wait to read the next one!!

I give Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift: Book One (Silent Secrets) by Lisette Kristensen, 4 stars.
Sloane is in a spot. Her husband turned rat on her and her family. Now that same family will want her dead. She knows the rules, but she didn’t cause this. Now she has to run for her life. On the way, she runs into an old friend who promises to help. He shows her a world she never dreamed of belonging to. But part of her knows that this is for her. Can she make it in the world of espionage?
This book is actually two stories in one, the second, being a short story. This book is incredible to me in that it takes steamy, erotic romance and mixes it with the suspense/spy world. It works so well too. The characters are interesting and believable. I really like Sloane and hope to read more about her. The story is quite interesting too. What do you do when you don’t really have a choice? Sloane is put in difficult situations, but she is a survivor. This crazy, unreal world is not something she envisioned to be her life, but she thrives just the same.
If you like stories with strong female characters and suspense which hot and steamy romance thrown in, this book is for you.

I enjoyed this story. I was a bit unsure when the story went from the daughter of a mob boss on the run to her being trained for something. I didnt see that twist coming and i loved it.
Sloane is the daughter of a mob boss who orders a hit on her after her husband told the police all about the familys dealings. Looking for a way out she meets an old friend who takes her to a place where she starts training to become something and someone else.
There is loads of adventure and lots of twists and turns which make it a enjoyable and entertaining read

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift is the first book that I have read by this author and I am pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this book. It is a Mafia type book and that alone had me intrigued. The main character is named Sloane and she just so happens to be the daughter of a Mafia Boss. She has lived a life of privilege but soon learns that life can change in the blink of an eye and she will have difficult times ahead of her. I enjoyed this book and I liked that I was pulled in from the very first page. I am looking forward to reading more by this author and I would recommend this to a friend!
