Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift: Book One (Silent Secrets)
By Lisette Kristensen

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift: Book One (Silent Secrets) by Lisette Kristensen is what I believe a brilliant start to a new series. What I liked about book one is that its two stories in one with Spin Drift taking us into book two, we don’t always see this tie in I found it a great way to end book one. We get introduced to Sloane who is the main character in both books and she’s no weak lady. I found her character to have strength and its good to read a book with a strong female character. The storyline is so easy to follow which makes it even more enjoyable and it will capture your interest from the start as it did with me. The book is an action-packed romance book.

4-Stars

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift is actually two different stories. Spin Drift is a short story featured at the end of the first book to tie the storyline into the second book. Sloane is the main character of both and it follows her life after her world is turned upside down. The easy to read storyline quickly captured my interest and I could not put it down. The steamy romance and action helped to keep it entertaining. I also loved the setting and the inclusion of family honor in this book. It was an interesting view into a mafia world. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift is a combination of two stories and the first book in the Silent Secrets series and were both really good reads! This might have been a short read but it certainly packed a punch! It was definitely a page turner which was exciting, thrilling and had amazing characters! I loved that I was constantly guessing what would happen with the next turn of the page. There is one thing I can definitely say about this book, apart from how great it was, was that the author absolutely brought the title into the story, I really and truly felt the betrayal in the storyline! My attention was kept from beginning to end and I was really hooked into the storyline!
I absolutely cannot wait to read more from this author again in the future!

From beginning to end, just a fantastic thrill ride. I was unprepared for the wallop this short story provided. A suspense filled thrill ride that had me glued to the pages. This was my introduction to this author and what a fantastic ride she took me on. Loved it from first page to last. Highly recommended!

Four Stars

Blinded by Betrayal was full of action and emotion. Every encounter with a character brought you something filled with either fear or excitement. I really liked the main character Sloane. She is one bad mamajamma. She didn’t play any games. When things started off bad I didn’t know what she would do. But what she did do surprised me. She took off and made something amazing for herself. I really liked the direction the story went. She did this on her own without a Male lead. The author really made you felt the betrayal in this story. It comes out of nowhere and your left feeling uncertain. Like what just happened. I like this author. I’m use to more laid back books but this one had me on edge.

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift combines the first two books in the Silent Secrets Series by Lisette Kristensen. It is a brilliant, fast paced, and action packed story that packs quite a punch for such a small package. This is a very quick and easy read, but that doesn’t mean that it is lacking in content- quite the opposite in fact. There is quite a lot going on, and the story easily held my attention, drawing me in further and further as the story progressed. There is plenty of suspense, drama, intrigue, espionage, the mafia, danger, violence, and lots of ‘steam’. This book shows us how “Blackbird” came to be.
Sloane Romano is a mafia princess, the daughter of the Boss, she’s living a privileged life. But all that changes in an instant, when her husband is picked up by the authorities and starts ‘singing’ like a canary. This puts her in the same category as her husband, in the ‘family’s’ eyes- a traitor, with a target on her back. She’s forced to flee- but where to go and more importantly who can she trust. This is where Bettino enters the story- a friend from her school days, he’s her only hope of escaping. But will trusting him prove to be a fatal mistake?
She’s no longer content being a dutiful daughter, and wife- stuck in a lonely, loveless and passionless marriage. Or having a target on her back. At the age of 32, she was finally going to live life on her terms. Her ‘adventure’ begins, and she soon finds herself on a journey of discovery- one that brings self-discovery, sexual discovery/awakening, discovering a new ‘way’ of life, finding her steeliness and embracing her strength, as well as learning deadly new skills.
As I was reading the book, Sloane reminded me a bit of Ziva David, from the television series NCIS. And, I also think this book/series would make a great television series, too.

Thank you, Ms. Kristensen!

I enjoyed this book from beginning to end, it even left me sitting on the edge of my seat a few times. It is a shorter thriller story that has a lot packed in which kept it engaging. I was pulled in right from the beginning. Sloane’s character is well written, connectable and strong. She finds herself spinning out of control when she turns to the one man that can help her. Failure is not an option for her. She brought the story to life for me, I highly recommend reading her story.

I was drawn into the characters plight from the beginning. Then the story took a left turn and I was like”Whoa” what is happening. To turn around begin again and it’s something else all together. This is not what I was expecting which is not all bad in a story. It definitely kept me on my toes and reading late into the night because I wanted to know what would happen next. It’s exciting, exhilarating, and easily kept my interest. This is a short book but there is no shortness on the action or suspense. Nice!

5 out of 5 stars

The story Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift: Book One (Silent Secrets) by Lisette Kristensen is a thrilling book to read. It has action, operatives, and danger. While it is a story that is a bit shorter than some, the powerful impact of the characters and the storyline makes it a page turner. I was always wondering what was going to happen next. Sloane is a woman without a lot of options. Betrayal has entered her life. What does the future hold for her? Read this book to find out. I loved that Sloane is a strong female character. Raw and conflicted emotions are felt. Can Sloane trust the one man that she turns to? Don’t miss out on a story that will grab your attention from the very beginning and will not let go until the last page. Highly recommended.
