Whisper Creek (A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 7)Whisper Creek by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It was good to catch up on a Logan mystery again. Logan and Ben are now engaged. Logan has made an music video with the help of her students, which has gone viral. While visiting Oregon, Logan is distracted with the video when she stumbles upon a dead body.

When her friends turn out to be the prime suspects, Logan starts investigating the murder to find out who the true murderer is. But with endless motives , accusations and lies involved, it gets really tricky, and it is very difficult to guess who the murderer is.

This book was a real page turner, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Valerie Davisson has done it again! She has written another great book in the Logan McKenna Series! This is a full-length story filled with its fair share of mystery and crime, and it’s one you won’t want to miss reading. If you have never read any of the Logan McKenna Series, I recommend you go back and read in order to keep caught up and to be ready for this one.
Logan is engaged! Logan and Ben are about to start a new journey to their lives together, but she feels like she needs a place to get away and have some r&r before her big day……little does she know, that isn’t in the cards for her. Logan travels to Oregon to visit friends, and she finds much more than she could have ever anticipated! This is where the story starts to take a turn and gets really good! I mean what do you expect when there’s a dead body, mystery, suspense, friends and family?! All of this makes for a page turning story! Can Logan find the answers, catch the true suspect and solve the mystery, or will Logan fail in her mission to solve the crime that is at hand? There’s only one way to find out, and that is to get a copy of the book and read it for yourself!

Lies That Bind (A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 6)Lies That Bind by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another mystery/thriller installment of the Logan McKenna Series. I really enjoyed the way the story kept moving between a time when men were rum running off the coast of central Oregon. And to present day where a young woman is found dead in her family owned hotel. Finding out some family secrets along the way, the book kept my attention. The author as always does a great job of character and world building so well, you feel like you’ve been there. I have enjoyed all of the Logan McKenna Series that I’ve read so far and this one is just as good. I highly recommend this series to anyone that enjoyed a great mystery/ thriller.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book can absolutely be read as a stand alone, but I can tell you right now that I am going to be going back through this authors other novels so I can read more about Logan and her adventures! I am dying to know more about this family tree and the intricacies of each personality.

This author puts amazing detail into the characters. They are easily relatable and you feel as if you have known them for a lifetime. The plot just adds to the characters. The action leaves you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire novel. Everyone is pointing their fingers at Wade, but is he really the one at blame? He does disappear as soon as his bond is posted, so there must be some sort of guilt eating at him. I guess you will just have to read to find out! I’m so glad I did.

Lies That Bind (Logan McKenna Series Book 6) by Valerie Davisson – Review by Mandy Ott

Lies That Bind (A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 6)Lies That Bind by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lies That Bind is the 6th book in the thrilling Logan McKenna Series. This one finds Logan in Oregon working on the renovation of her and Ben’s newly purchased vacation home. Once again, Logan is thrown into the midst of a homicide investigation. This book is very aptly named as there are so many lies told throughout the book (from the flashbacks of the early 1930s, the flashbacks of the 1970s, along with the present day) that have a lasting effect on those directly and indirectly involved. Reading this, I had many “a-ha” moments as things fell into place in my mind. It was a very exciting read. Valerie Davisson has a wonderful way of writing that allows the reader to become immersed in the story and invested in the characters. The characters are truly unique and diverse; Lies That Bind includes rumrunners, socialites, Southern belles, and a New York City lawyer. Another great book by Valerie Davisson!

Safe Harbor (Logan McKenna Series Book 5) by Valerie Davisson – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

OMG!!!!! This book literally had me on edge from the middle to the end. Logan McKenna is an amazing character but I feel like she just puts herself in these positions instead of being thrown into them. Logan and her family are finally on vacation, however it turns into a very scary situation for Logan. I don’t know if I could do what Logan did though. The murder of a local outsider named Adam pulls Logan and a few others at risk of possible losing their own lives. There are moments of “What?? She didn’t” to “The cops are so going in the wrong direction”. I should tell you that this is the 2nd book that I have read of the Logan McKenna series and the author never seems to lose me in them. I absolutely loved this book!!!! There are more of this series so I am definitely going to read them.

Logan wants to enjoy a peaceful vacation with her family because they have not done so but in true Logan fashion, she ends up entwined in a murder down at the harbor. Can she gather enough information in time to save innocent lives? Can she keep herself out of prison when they turn to her as a suspect? Her past also comes up to haunt her in this book and can she come up to face it when she has no desire to do so? This book was a page turner and kept the reader guessing until the final chapters. Well written as always.

This is book 5 in the Logan McKenna series. The story starts in Newport Oregon and continues on the Oregon coast. As with the other books in the series, Safe Harbor can be read as a stand alone novel. I have read other books by this author and I’m always drawn into the storyline. There’s plenty of mystery and intrigue to keep the pages turning! This is a powerful story with themes of loss, forgiveness, family, and love. It’s a wonderfully written crime novel with captivating characters and beautiful descriptions of the scenery along the Oregon coast. A joy to read!

Valerie Davisson is quickly becoming a new favorite author of mine. Her Logan McKenna Series is full of mystery, drama, intrigue, and so many twists and turns. The fifth book in the series, Safe Harbor, checks all those boxes and more. The reader finds out more about Logan’s family and her past, which collides with her present day and her connection to a murder, as a suspect. The world building in this series, and especially this book, is amazing! I felt like I was right there beside the family, fishing off the Oregon coast or walking along the beach. Valerie Davisson provides such vivid details in her writing and has also created characters that the reader can’t help but connect with. I feel like Logan McKenna could be a friend of mine in real life. The characters are so realistically flawed and believable. I can’t wait to see where the next Logan McKenna Thriller takes me!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The more books I read in the Logan McKenna Series, the more hooked I get! The fourth book, Vanishing Day, finds our heroine/musician/amateur sleuth, Logan McKenna, investigating the brutal attack of her neighbor. I love that Valerie Davisson not only captures the mystery and drama in her stories, but also touches on sensitive subjects; this book involves spousal abuse and the effects, physically and mentally, of that abuse. This book had me captivated and on the edge of my seat till the very end. The same wonderfully realistic characters return and the vivid detailing and creative, original world building is front and center in this dramatic, edge-of-your-seat thriller. Once again, Vanishing Day, as well as the other books in the series, can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading them in order to fully appreciate the connection between the books.

I recently started reading the Logan McKenna Mystery/Thriller series. Safe Harbor doesn’t disappoint! The main character Logan seems to get herself sucked into situations that aren’t exactly safe but sure makes for a great story! As usual, this book sucked me in from the beginning with some great world building and character development. Enjoyed learning a bit more about Logan’s family in this book. I think it’s easy to connect with Logan’s character as a reader and it makes me want to read more about Logan and her family & friends.

Each time I read another book in the Logan McKenna series, I find a new favorite! There is plenty of danger, suspense, and action which follows suit with the others in the series. I always enjoy the way this author vividly paints the scenery in each book. I find it incredibly easy to picture myself in these locations without ever having visited, which is not an easy feat by any means. Logan is always such a strong and independent character who seems to find herself in the middle of very mysterious (and dangerous) situations. You can read this as a standalone, but getting to know more and more about Logan through each book is definitely worth picking up the entire series. I can’t wait to get my hands on more from this author.

Safe Harbor (Logan McKenna Series Book 5) by Valerie Davisson. I have loved every book in this series and this one was no different. Its about Logan is on a much needed vacation with Ben and her family and is excited to finally get to relax and explore Oregon and the Coast. When there is a murder Logan finds herself in the middle of it again and even finds herself as a suspect. She must solve this murder so that she can get herself out of this mess. When another body turns up and a long lost parent shows up things get even messier. Logan’s past has come to mess up her present and future unless she can get a handle on this situation! I have read all of these books in order but I do believe you can read them as standalones. This is a fun series that will keep you turning pages late in the night trying to solve who dun it!

SAFE HARBOR: Logan Book 5(The Logan McKenna Series)SAFE HARBOR: Logan Book 5 by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Safe Harbor is Book 5 in the Logan McKenna series, but it can be enjoyed as a stand alone book. The characters overlap, and there are references to past events, but it isn’t lacking. The information is provided with enough detail that a reader would do just fine without having read those stories. I have read some of the series, but not all books and not even in order. Logan is always finding herself in the middle of suspenseful and dangerous situations. This book was one of my favorites I have read in the series, it is full of suspense and doesn’t all come together until the end. While we kind of know where the story is headed, there are still twists and turns along the way. Logan is on vacation with her family, and is soon a suspected murderer. It is all a lot of wrong place at the wrong time, all around, but it works. I recommend this to readers who enjoy suspense mysteries, without the spooky psychological thrill. I didn’t want to put the book down, but wasn’t terrified to finish either. The title was NOT what I expected Safe Harbor to be referring to, but again, it works.

Vanishing Day
By: Valerie Davisson

Vanishing Day is Valerie Davisson’s take on what is a familiar plot. It is one I have seen before, an abuse victim on the run from their abuser. However, I have not seen this plot as skillfully crafted as that by Valerie Davisson. She takes a character I already love, Logan Mckenna, and gives her to this hard, yet common, topic and just really lets her writing take center stage. This book was so hard to put down and I just wanted to see justice prevail from the beginning to the end. Valerie’s true talent is in her character development. She takes a well loved character and just continues to develop her through each book. She then gives her new characters and plots that just help her to show her positives and her flaws. She makes Logan seem like an amazing friend throughout the story. I absolutely love this story and will be anxiously awaiting my next Logan McKenna read!
