This book is another great addition to an authors growing list of books I couldn’t/ didn’t want to put down. The writing was fantastic and I enjoyed this story alot because it felt unique and I liked the main characters and their development over the whole of the book. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend and I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future!

After reading the Code of Honor Books by this author I couldn’t wait to jump into another series by her 🥰. I just had to read these. I love reading supernatural books, especially shifters’ stories. This might be the first time reading one where the main shifter was a mountain lion, and I quite enjoyed it. Just like the other Brooke May wrote, this one kept me engaged til the very end. It was well written with a unique take on the mating bond. I couldn’t help loving the mated pair Lane and Cheyenne. Even though they both have personal stuff to get over, I think the fates got it right putting those two together. I can’t wait to read the next book of this series to escape to this amazing world again 🥰

Wooot Wooot back again!! This is the second book of the Long Claw Pride and I could not wait to devour it 😀 and I felt like I finished this in a snap. It was sooo goood but I wouldn’t expect anything less from this brilliant author. I was so happy to go back into this shifter realm, even if it was just for a short while. But Omg even though I loved the first one, Trigger and Laramie are my favorite ones so far. This book has literally everything you’d want in a paranormal read but so much more! The characters the author build will have you loving and disliking them (Cough cough enter said characters name here😂) and With a twist that even i didn’t see coming 🤫. I absolutely cannot wait to see what Brooke May has in store for us next. I’m counting the days!!!

This fantastic read is the next step in this wonderful series and it features around Laramie and Trigger. While the mating call hits them and draws them together its the underhanded actions of Leonard who I just knew was a total snake in the grass right from the start, that kept me completely intrigued. I was NOT so patiently waiting for Trigger to work out Leonards true intentions and now I can’t wait for more of the story. I simply have to know what’s next! This amazing and some what crazy family and town have weaved into my heart for sure.

Cheyenne and Lane were drawn together by the mating call but they definitely go beyond that to form an amazing bond. This is the first book in what I know is going to be a fantastic series. The talented author has created wonderful characters and an intriguing storyline that draws you into their world so effortlessly. I am really looking forward to seeing what’s next for everyone not just Cheyenne and Lane but the whole family!

I did enjoy this book. There are not many books out there that are about a different kind of shapeshifter making this one more interesting. The story of Trigger and Laramie was full of drama and intrigue and of course love. I enjoy paranormal romance and I recommend this book to everyone who also enjoys that genre. I look forward to reading more from this author and a continuation of this series.

I really enjoyed this book! It is the second in the series and can be read as a standalone if needed but I would suggest reading in order so you get the whole picture of this pack.

Laramie and Trigger meet when Trigger and his stepdad come into town. They both feel the mating call and for Trigger while he knows what it is he doesn’t know all the details as he wasn’t raised in a pack.

Can these 2 figure it out before the Mating Haze kicks in?

The Mating Haze by Brooke May is book two in her along Call Pride series. Oh man this one was good! After watching her sister find her mate, Laramie can’t wait for her call to come. But when it does she is blinded by love and infatuation for her mate and the opportunities he and his family could bring to her community. Trigger has been raised with humans and is obviously trusting in his own family. But once he realizes that everything he’s done and worked for with the shifters is likely to jeopardize his new mate and relationship, things start to change. Can the pair overcome the obstacles that lie ahead between them and their families and pack? Or will the mating haze be too much and eventually tear them apart. I loved how this story came together. The twists and turns within the pairs relationship, kept it interesting and held my attention throughout. I’m quite enjoying this series.

The Mating Haze was good. It’s the second book I’ve read in this shifter romance series. The author brings you into a new world. If you like shifter novels this series should be a go to. Yes it’s a series however they could be read as standalone novels as well.
Trigger and his step-father have made it to Wyoming with every intention to help a lion-shifter community in need. But are they really helping? Trigger is feeling fulfilled but his world soon gets turned upside down. Not only has he received his mating call, but some things have been said that have caused him to open his eyes. He started to open his eyes to who his stepfather is and what he’s been doing. He enjoys helping but for a good cause and he has every intention of helping Laramie get her boutique up and running.
Laramie can’t say no to helping out her family, which has put her dreams of opening a boutique on hold. Though she’s consistently planning what she’s going to do with the store and space. That is till the mating call hits her, she’s ready and willing to meet her mate. Little did she realize he would be right under her nose. Or that he wanted to help make her dream a reality. She has such high hopes for what they initially said to her, till she has a sit down with his step dad. Now she’s feeling uneasy. How does she handle that when it comes to Trigger?
The author weaves a web that brings certain characters full circle. Also displays the growth between the two main characters that you want in a good book. You should check it out.

Watching two people come together in romance is fun. However, watching Laramie and Trigger grow together. Is a whole other story. Wait, this is that story!
Trigger lives amongst the humans, but he helps those in Long Claw. He being a lion shifter has many obstacles to overcome and work through.. One of which is his mate claiming. Laramie has put her life on hold as she helps her family out. So when her call comes, she is ready to start her new journey. Or is she? Will Trigger and Laramie listen to the call before the haze moves in? This was such a fast paced emotional story for me. I Loved It! The romance between these two characters is so on point, I could see the story in my mind. The author really put her imagination into this story. I am looking forward to reading more paranormal stories from this author.

The Mating Haze by Brooke May is the fantastic second book in the Long Claw Pride paranormal series. I loved the first book and this one is just as good, and I never pass up a chance to dig into anything Brooke has written.
This paranormal romance story is set in a small town where there are shifters and fated soul mates. Brooke’s narrative makes it so easy to imagine and get lost in. There is action, drama, secrets, hopes, needs, wants, longing, laughter and love and you have yourself an enticing great read.
The characters of Long Claw pride are positively crazy, most definitely fun and a lot wild, but you can’t help but fall in love with them good or bad. I love the unpredictability of what these wonderful and colourful shifters get up to. It is often mayhem and madness.
Laramie never wanted anything more than her mate. She swore that she did not want to end up like her mother. But when a stranger comes to town and the Haze kicks in everything goes out the window.
Trigger is a shifter but raised among humans. His life is helping communities of shifters. So, when he turns up in Long Claw things may not be as they seem.
Make sure you grab it and settle in for the journey. You won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait for more.

The Mating HazeThe Mating Haze by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Laramie Mackenzie is member of the pride of mountain lion shifters who call Long Claw their home, she is the second of a large family of five and is loved by everyone, she helps out in the local businesses her family runs, but it means that she doesn’t have time for her own dreams and this is exhausting her. Trigger Bain is a shifter without a pack, he has spent more time with humans than with his own kind, but that isn’t his fault, he is now being roped into helping with the family business of helping pride’s of mountain lion’s to improve their communities and bring investment to them.

When Trigger starts his journey to Long Claw, he is doing his usual research on the flight about the place and what is already there, but while he is driving in his rental car towards the mountains, a unfamiliar feeling begins and takes his breath away, he knows that it is the mating call, but he has no idea what it means, all he knows is that it feels right but he also knows that he can’t let it distract him from driving safely in the wintry conditions. Meanwhile Laramie is suddenly hit by the same feeling, but she knows what it means and she is more than excited, much to the surprise of her family, but she still goes on with her life until she can meet the mate she has longed for since she was a child and more than that, she is hoping that it means she might be able to finally take her dreams off of the back burner.

When the two finally meet, their connection is instant, but Trigger has a job to do and he is trying his best to keep doing this despite only wanting to spend time with his mate and this is where things start to get complicated for the duo because doing this means that they are going into the mating haze and albeit passionate, it can also be dangerous. As the two lions bond, it quickly becomes apparent to Trigger that something about his job feels off and it rubs him the wrong way and it causes tension between him and the community instead of the acceptance he desperately wants, so when he starts to look into his fears and worries and the mating haze clears he discovers something he wished he hadn’t. This is a steamy fantasy romance where truths, lies, secrets and revelations abound and tensions rise as clarity is found all while romance is kindled and the flames of passion ignite.

The Mating HazeThe Mating Haze by Brooke May

The is another book in the Long Claw Pride series, this time following Laramie and Trigger’s story.
Once again, another unique element is added to the series in the form of the mating haze. It put blinders on making Laramie act out of character.
Laramie is usually sensible but currently isn’t and Trigger has blind faith in his family, both of which could lead to disaster.
I enjoyed how it was Trigger who was the one who had mainly grown up in the human world, this was a different take as many of the books I have read, it is the female character which takes this role.
The characters are likeable and you can’t help but root for them, wanting a happily ever after.
Once again, the author’s writing flows well and the descriptive narrative paints vivid imagery of both characters and scenery. I felt like I could step into the story following the twists alongside the characters.
Another enjoyable book in the series, I can’t wait for more!

This is book 1 in the Long Claw Pride series following mountain lion shifters. I enjoyed the difference to the usual wolf shifters, it was refreshing and written well.
Another unique element was the way that finding your mates works. I thought this was unique and a lovely way of doing it. The author’s writing flowed well, and the descriptions created vivid imagery of both scenery and characters.
The characters are likeable, both with a past which affects their outlook on their mating situation and the character development as the book progresses (and the romance) was great to see. You can’t help but root for the couple every step of the way.
This was an enjoyable book with many unique elements and written well. I look forward to the reading the rest of the series!

Shifter mates
Book 2 of the Long Claw Pride series, The Mating Haze, is engaging. I love shifter stories, throw in some romance, strong characters and a series that just gets better and better and I’m hooked. As with the first book, the author focuses on another member of the pride, Laramie and her mating call is not all that it should be.
There are road blocks to overcome to get to her HEA with Trigger. A fantastic read that has me eagerly awaiting book 3. Recommend.

The Mating Haze is the second captivating book in the Long Claw Pride series by Brooke May. As with the first book, this follows members of the Long Claw Clan, a mountain lion shifter community- and makes for fantastic reading.                                                                                  Let’s face it, Ms. May had me at shifters – but making them mountain lions certainly added an extra element of interest for me. Especially after reading the first book. I love the way that each book builds on what we learned in the previous one/s- even though the main focus is on different main characters- there is a bigger picture being built in the background, that bridges the series. For this reason, I highly recommend reading the first book before starting on this one. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
Laramie and Trigger give us a front row seat to a superb paranormal romance, with fated mates, drama, emotion, angst, family, community, destiny, secrets, discovery, challenges, responsibility, banter, humour, antics, and more. It was so easy invest in them and the outcome of their story. But as expected, Ms. May threw in a few challenges and dramatic developments along the way to keep things interesting.
Bring on Book #3!
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Brooke May!

Laramie Mackenzie just watched her sister find her mate and although she is happy for her sister, she also feels like she has to continue to take care of her family. When she feels the mating call, she finds herself in front of Trigger Bain.

Trigger was raised around humans and he has no clue as to life with shifters. When the mating call hits him he begins to see things from a different perspective and questions all that he knows. Can they have a happily ever after or is Laramie doomed to follow in her mothers footsteps.

I would suggest reading these in order as the book definitely intertwines with Laramie’s back story. I liked that Trigger came into the story and although he has a niggling feeling that things are not quite what he thinks it should be, he is influenced by his step-father. Great follow up to the first book.

Laramie and Trigger’s story was a definite heart gripper. You could feel the chemistry with these two before the mating call gripped them. The story had me right from the beginning. You could tell right off the bat that his stepdad, Leonard, was up to something. That guy was a piece of work. I found the story was really gripping with Laramie trying to decide if he was who he said. Trigger was trying to figure out what to do. He didn’t get to have a pride to grow up with. This such a good series. It is that way because the author gives suchh a long time between books. I don’t mind anticipating because they are so worth it. Laramie’s family is traditional. I can’t wait to see who gets blessed to mate with Sheridan. Afton seems pretty chill. I’m excited to see his story. He’s next. However, I digress, back to Laramie and Trigger, watching their relationship develop almost makes you tear up. They go through the good, bad and the ugly. Evenn the crappy dad, Casper makes an appearance. A phenomenal story and series that you really should read. .

This story is nicely done! While it is a stand alone there is an interconnected story running through the series. I highly suggest starting off with the Mating Call which is book 1. Trigger was an enigma to me. But once the story rolled along I really started to like him and actually felt sorry for him. While the mating is a part of the story it is not the main one. So we have a lot of other stuff going on as well. I look forward to the next the series and seeing what will happen next.

Cheyenne Mackenzie was determined to have a different life than her mother. Her mating was nothing more than a mating and Cheyenne wants more than just the animal instinct. Years later Cheyenne feels the call and heads home, Lane Matthews is there and recognizes her as his mate. Cheyenne is weary about the mating though can she and Lane have a mating that is met with compassion and feelings for one another or will they be enemies thrown together by the call?

Entertaining story. I get where Cheyenne was coming from, she had seen her mother break in her mating and wanted more. I really liked Lane and thought the chemistry was fantastic. Looking forward to the next book.

An enjoyable and engaging paranormal romance which had me hooked throughout. For mountain lion shifters fate exists and comes in the form of the mating call, which brings two people together who are perfect soul mates. Laramie and Trigger feel the mating call as soon as they meet, however Laramie has always had a sense of responsibility and has put her dreams aside to help her family and Trigger has been raised among humans. Trigger is determined to help the shifter community that Laramie is part of at Long Claw. There is a reason why mates should claim each other straight away, and that’s to avoid the mating haze, a fog that consumes the couple until they are carrying each other’s mark. The mating haze hits Laramie and Trigger, clouding Laramie from the truth behind her new mates arrival in the pack. As secrets are revealed and truths told the couple’s new relationship is tested and for Laramie it’s too reminiscent of what happened to her Mum. The descriptive narrative brings the setting of Long Claw vividly to life along with the members of the Pride, which made me feel immersed in the story. I loved Laramie and Trigger and their chemistry really came across in the narrative. I look forward to other books in this series.

This book is a great book by an fantastic author and a unique take on a shifter story. It is unusual for a book like this to bring something new to the table and yet this author managed it with such ease. I was pulled into this story so easily and I loved watching how it all unfolded.
I really enjoyed learning about the characters in this book too. They were intriguing and engaging right from the word go. The Mating HazeThe Mating Haze by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is part of the Long Claw Pride series. I have read previous books by this author and have enjoyed them all and this one was just as good. I love a paranormal romance where the Shifter mates are protective and possessive, where neither one can fight against what they are feeling the connection is that powerful. However this is a mated story with a twist. There is a saying that love in blind and the same is true in the Shifter world except its called the Mating Haze.
When Laramie Mackenzie meets Trigger Bain the Mating call is activated and they realise they are meant to be mates.
Laramie is the sensible one of the pack so it is unlike her to just lose her mind over a guy. However that is what she is doing, not only does she accept her mate she also sees an opportunity to fulfil her dreams when Triggers Step-father offers the opportunity to improve their town, make it more profitable and allow Laramie the chance of having her own store. But when things are too good to be true they normally are this isn’t going to be the perfect dream she is expecting.

Trigger is a Shifter who has grown up in the human world. He has very little experience within a pack and only knows what he has learnt from his mother. He follows his step-father around helping him improve the lives of shifters or so he is told. He trusts his step-father. After everything he’s done raising him why would he lie to him?
When Trigger’s step father realises his fated mate is part of the Long Claw pack he knows he can use this to his advantage.
As Trigger and Laramine try to get used to their bond and learn more about each other they also need to uncover secrets and lies which could destroy their future before it even begins.

This story is action packed with twists and turns that will keep you guessing. There are characters you will love and characters you just don’t trust. The author does an incredible job of writing that allows the reader to picture the scenes in vivid detail as if they are there seeing it with their own eyes.

This book does not disappoint. I was intrigued with the blurb about this book. The haze that could surround the MCs of this story if they don’t take the mating mark right away. This is something that I haven’t read about in other shifter books. It is something that I can come into this series and consider a new take on the shifter genre. That said this book was excellently written and very descriptive. I was able to picture everything in my mind like a picture. There are some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. It definitely kept me turning pages to see what was going to happen and where everything was heading in the story. The romance in this book is spit on for the story. It isn’t too much and not too little. I feel like this book was really thought out. It is part of a series and I would highly recommend reading them all. I was bot disappointed at all while reading this book and I intend on reading the rest of the series. This is a fast paced book and will keep you turning pages. It will allow you to loose yourself for a few hours while reading it. I always feel that a great book will make you loose track of time and this book did that and then some.
