The Mating Haze (Long Claw Pride) by Brooke May – Review by Jennifer Gordon

The Mating HazeThe Mating Haze by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and engaging paranormal romance which had me hooked throughout. For mountain lion shifters fate exists and comes in the form of the mating call, which brings two people together who are perfect soul mates. Laramie and Trigger feel the mating call as soon as they meet, however Laramie has always had a sense of responsibility and has put her dreams aside to help her family and Trigger has been raised among humans. Trigger is determined to help the shifter community that Laramie is part of at Long Claw. There is a reason why mates should claim each other straight away, and that’s to avoid the mating haze, a fog that consumes the couple until they are carrying each other’s mark. The mating haze hits Laramie and Trigger, clouding Laramie from the truth behind her new mates arrival in the pack. As secrets are revealed and truths told the couple’s new relationship is tested and for Laramie it’s too reminiscent of what happened to her Mum. The descriptive narrative brings the setting of Long Claw vividly to life along with the members of the Pride, which made me feel immersed in the story. I loved Laramie and Trigger and their chemistry really came across in the narrative. I look forward to other books in this series.
